Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, smallish kind of a place. Breadsticks are crazy cheap (99 cents for 5). I've been here twice now. The first time I split bread sticks and a white pizza with a friend. The pizza was pretty tasty. The next time with the husband we had the cheese filled breadsticks (meh), the house salad (very good, I asked for the dressing on the side), and the fettucine alfredo with green peppers (just OK). Husband was not a huge fan of his fish - too oily. We liked the place enough that I could see us trying it again.

This is where I go when I have lasagna cravings, or fettuccine alfredo cravings. Zianos sauces are rich and flavorful. The marinara has a nice kick to it and lots of oregano. No free breadsticks to start, which is disappointing, but they're free if you have a coupon from a previous visit (they give these out to all guests). Otherwise 99 cents isn't bad. It's normal sweet fluffy breadsticks, good, but I prefer to save room for dessert. The garlic bread slice that comes with the meals is very crunchy like toast; if you want soft bread then get the sticks. I pass on the house salad, just a basic iceberg style, but no biggie since the pasta is the real star here. Dessert options include DeBrand chocolate truffles (great local chocolate company) and baked cookies covered in ice cream and whipped cream. The cookies are a challenge to eat, as they come in dishes straight from the oven, but with a mountain of whipped cream to enjoy while they cool down this is still my dessert of choice. There are some nice wine options, too. Atmosphere: Like a nice upscale restaurant but with sheets of white paper over the dark tablecloths, so it's family-friendly and also a nice place for date night. Locally owned and well worth a visit. If you're looking for Italian in Fort Wayne, go to Zianos.

Service is always great at Zianos. The food is fantastic. Our favorite: Breadsticks with butter dipping sauce, split the Jimmy the Greek salad, split spaghetti and (extra) meatballs! Perfect!

If there's one thing that can be said about Zianos, it's that they're fast, and attentive. We've been able to sit down to a quick lunch or dinner while still enjoying well prepared and delicious food, and all for a very appropriate price. While there are many Italian places in the SW area, Zianos is one actually worth going to, they still have a degree of pride and care about their cuisines, both in portion and execution.

The main was excellent as was the service but the dessert was awful! The tiramisu came out partially frozen and the waitress admitted to me that it comes from a foodservice company. Not homemade and super overpriced!

Great atmosphere! Great service! Great food! I had the chicken parm. Very flavorful tomato sauce. Not bland at all. Chicken was juicy, not dry. Wife had the lasagna. She liked it a lot.

Really nice departure from chain Italian joints! The place is small, yet REALLY comfortable. The staff is very nice and willing to hang out and chat instead of just take the order and run. Our waiter, Marco, was especially nice and enjoyable to interact with. The food was pretty gosh darn good We started with the Breadsticks . . a must try! So light and flavorful My wife had the mostacholi, she seemed to enjoy it. I had the Sausage and peppers. .. . it was awesome! No explosions of flavor, just a pleasant tasty warm home cooked food. It was GREAT! We will certainly be back again to try something else out!

Good food and good service, but nothing particularly special. I would compare Zianos to a locally owned Olive Garden. My wife loves the place, but she also loves Olive Garden.

The good news is that we were greeted quickly at the door and seated. The waitress took our drink order and we informed her that we had a coupon for a free order of breadsticks. They are usually 99¢, but cheese sauce or marinara is 59¢ extra. Wanted the spaghetti without the meatballs, however was told it is not offered that way and it would be the same price either way...not very smart considering a side of meatballs is on the menu at an additional cost that can be added to other dishes. So of course ordered it with the meatballs and wanted it split for two people. Others in party ordered the chicken sandwich, and a large house salad with the dressing on the side. House salad and breadsticks were very good. Everything else was a problem. First the hot entrees came out only a few minutes after receiving the salads. So you either let the hot food get cold, or push the salad aside. This happened at most tables so it was not an isolated incident. Also, the chicken sandwich is described on the menu as containing chicken breasts with peppers and onions, but the peppers and onions were nonexistent and there was very little chicken, and it was small strips-- not breasts. The spaghetti was split, but one dish had all the sauce and the other dish was virtually dry. Overall the food is a tad bit too expensive for what you get, the kitchen needs to be more diligent about the timing of the courses, and a little more attentive about the quality of the food being served. The waitress was prompt in keeping drinks filled, but did not clear the dishes in a timely fashion. We were also charged for the breadsticks which were supposed to be free. Overall there are quite a few places in town for good Italian food so this place needs to really shape up their food and service to stay competitive. Probably would not visit again, and if I did would just order the house salad and breadsticks.

Took my parents to Zianos for my mothers birthday dinner last Sunday and had a wonderful meal! We went at an off time so we were the only ones in there. The service was great and our meals were even better! I got some chicken pesto alfredo pasta dish and it was to die for! Wish we would of gotten the bread sticks instead of the cheese garlic bread. I didn't care for that. I will be going back soon!

Honestly the worst service I've received at a restaurant. We didn't receive our salads until 1.5 hours after we ordered. 3 out of the 5 were wrong. We only got one of our appetizers out of 2. Then after two hours, still had no entrees with no explanation why other than the mgr saying it was an "internal error". We left after this. Would not return. Another thing, they don't serve bread like every other Italian place ever. Kinda weird.

Their lasagna is my favorite. It beats Casa's hands down and that shocks a lot of people when I say that. Their breadsticks with garlic butter dipping sauce is the best in town! Service is almost always prompt and genuinely friendly. They have a gluten free menu, but the staff needs to be trained a little better about people with allergies. Both the Covington and Maysville locations have this problem, My girlfriend orders off the gluten free menu and they consistently leave off the croutons(great), but still put a piece of bread on her plate. If she eats anything that even touches gluten, she will have a bad reaction. A little bit more training for the staff and this place will be top in town.
