Greek Cuisine
Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Excellent small Greek restaurant with an amazing staff. You're greated with a hearty "Opa!" when you walk in. The owners are super nice and often chat you up while preparing your food. Gyros and chicken gyros are both delicious, they freshly drop fries when you order. Spicy feta has a real kick. Saturday specials that aren't normally on the menu every week. Restaurant is nice and clean, great hand-painted Greek island scene on the west wall is really cool. Gyro and fries combo will cost you about $8, but it's a small family owned biz run by some really great people so I'm willing to pay a little more. Highly recommend checking them out.

I had the open faced pita sandwich with fries. I think they call it the Big Gyro platter. The meat was perfect! I loved the flavor, the onion, tomato and lettuce were fresh, and the fries were AMAZING. I'm a bit of a fry snob, these were perfect fries. They were thicker fries, but not steak cut fries, and you could hold them and they wouldn't sag. No limp fries here. The oil they were fried it was clearly changed regularly. Two disappointments (and they're mild at that): 1- no soda fountain. You have to buy bottled soda. I prefer fountain soda. 2- The Tzaziki sauce had kind of a weird flavor. It seemed rather bland....i didn't taste any dill, or any cucumber even. It honestly tasted like yogurt and ranch dressing mix. It was not very good. If they could fix that, I would have NO complaints.

Wow! Wish I'd known about this place before! I'd eat here every time I go thru ft Wayne. Clean, fast, good service, and excellent gyros. Thumbs up! Omg, this is the best baklava I've had in probably 20 years!!!!!!

Yum! Falafel pita with spicy sauce was great! If you like Greek fare, give this place a try.

Wonderful authentic Greek food, well worth the drive over from Ohio. Staff was helpful and very welcoming, went the extra mile to insure that the customers had a great dinning experience. Will definitely be returning.

This place is great for Greek take-out. Have eaten-in several times, but prefer to take it out. The staff is always super friendly and everything I've ever ordered is tasty. A great spot in the Fort!

This place was great! We stopped on out way back to Detroit and we were looking for something non-chain. The owner is on site and very friendly. You can tell it's a labor of love for her. We had the grape leaves and spinach pie and it was like my mother-in-law (who is 100% Greek) cooked the meal herself. Definitely stop here if you're driving by Fort Wayne.

Pita village has some of the best Greek food for decently cheap in the area! First time I visited and it definitely was a treasure to find. The owner was very friendly and personable. Great food for the money and great atmosphere!
(5)Dale B.
Definitely recommend this place...even if you are not a big fan of Greek food. The owners were serving the night my wife and I were there. They were very personable and appreciative we came. They made several great suggestions for us novice Greek eaters. The food was very good. The dine in area was fine also. Give it a try!!!

The Haddock is delicious. If you are a fish and chips fans, you have to try it. Fried to perfection but not too greasy. The gyros is do good, perfect balance of ingredients, tender meat, and the pita is fresh and delicious. Now, the service. You truly feel like a guest, almost like you are visiting their home. They are truly concerned that you enjoy every aspect of the meal. The next time I go back I will get a little more adventurous with my selections, I'm sure it will all be delicious!

Opa!! This family run Greek restaurant is a slice of heaven. Large portions with fresh ingredients. They greet you at the door, and take time to recommend food if you are lost in their selection. Their pitas are soft and perfect compliments to their shaved meats or kabobs. They even have greek lasagna. Their gyro platter is an awesome deal, as it can feed two people. Don't forget their sunday baklava... Flaky dough with honey and pistachio nuts. King gyro is second rate when compared to this place, and worth the drive if on the fence between the two.

Food and service is outstanding!!! I have eaten at every Greek restaurant in the city of Fort Wayne and I find that Pita Village has the best of them all. The food at Pita Village is like homemade. Much success to Pita Village.

Happened to be going by here while running errands. Stopped in for lunch. Staff was very friendly. Place was clean and inviting. I had the gyro platter and it was gianormous! Lamb was cooked right and the salad was fresh and crisp. Price for portion size was right on target. Definately will go back

If you love greek food, and a welcoming environment, then Pita Village is for you. When you walk in, you are greeted with a big "OMPA". Staff is friendly and will take the time to explain any dishes that you may not have tried before. Thought I wasn't a big fan of gyros until I tried them. Fantastic. Meat is tender and juicy. Very taste bud friendly. Also (and yes, I know this may not be associated with fine greek dining) the haddock is hands down, best in Fort Wayne. Large pieces, cooked to perfection, with large white flaky pieces. It comes with HOT (temp) french fries and a delicious coleslaw. Every order is cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the greek salad with the homemade dressing. The owner (Lenny) comes around to check on your meals, answer any questions, and share fun stories. She's always interested in new ideas, and is free about sharing her recipes. You're instantly a friend, and fall in love with them all. I've now tried about 5 or 6 different items on the menu, and have never been disappointed. Two thumbs up.

Good food. Very friendly. The owners personally come to each table to make sure everything is acceptable.

I visit any chance I get. I haven't tried any new dishes because the original gyro and fries are phenomenal. This has become a frequent destination after my OB appointments in Ft. wayne. I was not looking forward to driving to Ft. wayne every two weeks as I near my due date, but I have an excuse to stop by and grab a meal!

When I walked in they greet you with a opa. So immediately I think I am in for an authentic Greek meal. NOT! I ordered up a Gyro platter and was hugely disappointed. The meat itself was tasty but the way the shave the meat is not typical to an authentic gyro. The strips are thinly shaved and don't seem to stay together. The tzatziki-sauce consisted of sour cream and some dry herbs. No hint of cucumber or anything that resembles a traditional sauce. I guess if you need a non- authentic gyro fix this is the place for you but if you need a traditional gyro then you are SOL.
(1)Maddy M.
My best friend and I had lunch here and had a great experience. Friendly owners, good food, and an overall lovely environment. The gyros were flavorful and juicy and the Tzatziki was well seasoned and when I requested extra on the side for dipping was graciously granted. The fries came out hot and fresh. Delicious, perfect to satisfy a gyro craving. It is a lot of food if you aren't a big eater. Both my friend and I only ate half so we were able to wrap up the other half for later.

Traveling here from California and came across this place. The customer service was unbelievable! I would come back here just for that! Food was great also! Gyro and fries!! Definitely would recommend to a friend!

Was visiting Ft Wayne, totally plan to hit this place up if I ever go back!!!! The food was amazing. I got a number 1 to go, and woah. The gyro was amazing. The service was even better. One of the workers gave me a dollar to start my daughters college education. Seriously. If you're in ft Wayne and looking for some amazing food and service, this place is a must go.

I always like to do bad news first, so here we go. Be prepared to wait for your food. Maybe I'm spoiled because I can walking to King Gyros order and be out in 2 minutes flat. This took about 15 minutes to get a few things. The lady that owns this place makes all of the food by her self with the exception of having a fry cook. Who basically makes fries all day. This place would be a nightmare to try and eat at if you only had a 30 minute lunch break. Secondly the food is just ok. It's not worth my driving 10 miles to come here when I can drive one and get better gyros. Now the good. The service was outstanding. I mean super friendly, the owner came out from the behind the counter and greeted every table. Super nice to have that kind of attention. It shows a lot of passion which is wonderful to see in food service.

This is my second time here (the last time was over a month ago!) and recognized me and remembered what I ordered! That is a sign to me that every patron counts. The staff of very friendly, helpful (I didn't know what I was hungry for), and the place is very clean. Pita Village offers daily specials and very reasonable prices. Tonight I ordered Dolmas and a Gyros platter (a special treat for me). This location is quickly becoming my go to restaurant in Fort Wayne. OPA!

Best authentic Greek food in town. Family owned and run, best pitas I've ever had. Everyone who works there is so friendly and sweet. Perfect for a quick and delicious lunch solo or with the family. Been a few times now and will continue to go back.

When I walked in I was enthusiastically greeted by the staff. My order was taken quickly and I took a seat. While I was seated one of the staff members came over and chatted with me. When she found out it was my first time she introduced me to some other Greek favorites I might enjoy next time. My food was delivered to my table and smelled amazing. I quickly dug in and was very pleased. Everything was delicious. The staff is very welcoming and attentive to their customers. I will highly recommend and will be returning.

Fantastic Greek food. Ive only had the hummus and gyro but thats all you really need in my opinion. Everyone is very friendly, highly recommend!
(5)Drew G.
OPA! Love the Pita Village. The owners are extremely friendly and the food is outstanding. The Gyros are superb and everything is cooked fresh. Love coming here with my family and supporting locally owned and operated restaurants. Anytime we go they're never packed which is a bit sad because this place deserves to be! It blows the heck out of King Gyro! Wake up and smell the Feta Fort Wayne!
(5)Shannon W.
Amazing food and great service. I highly recommend this to anyone. The staff is so friendly and upbeat. And the food is outstanding.

In ft. Wayne on business from Chicago. - Chicago Greek town refugee! I see this place on Yelp. 20 stars? For a Gyros? So I say ok.. and its amazing! Like Greek town Chicago. But better! No joke. Tons of home cooking family rescipe secrets from the old days. The meat soo tender. And that soup! Luv lentils but that soup is to die for! Perfectly classic crispy frirs. BTW the baklava is homemade Too! Bought some for the road! They hit you with a big Oooopaaa! When you walk in and it's like your a part of the family.

Can you say Amen to Greek Gods? If not, what's the Greek equivalent to Amen because I'm so grateful there is really good Greek food near. In Chicago there are Greek family restaurants everywhere... So I'm glad Fort Wayne has at least one. I've had the Greek salad w/ gyro meat, haddock and baklava. (Different occasions). All delish. No complaints. Can we talk about how warm and friendly they are here!?!?! Secretly I want to make friends with Ms. Lenny and get invited to holidays at their house cause of how hospitable she is and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome when you walk in this place. I hope their business thrives.

Always try to use Yelp when on the road looking to find something good to eat. During a recent trip we wanted a gyro. Found Pita Village with some good reviews. Well they were not wrong. Pita Village is in a strip type mall near Kroger's Grocery. What impressed me besides the overloaded gyro, which was Yummy Yummy , was the staff. When we walked in we were greeted with a huge smile and "OPA". This put a smile on our face on a close to zero degree day and traveling for 6 hours on the road. Next was the young men taking the order and making the gyro and the excellent fries. They really stood out. I don't know if I'm just getting old or what, but young men acting professionally these days especially in a so called fast food restaurant is sometimes hard to find. These young gentleman were very polite, eye contact, genuine smile , friendly and listening and wanting to help you with you order. Our meal was brought to the table with a smile and after a few minutes then young man behind the counter ask me "hey Rick, how is you food" . This really stuck out to me that he would take the time to read the name on the ticket and call me by my name. The food was excellent for sure but the customer service like this is something you just don't see these days.

We were greeted with "opa" the moment we stepped in the door! What a warm and friendly place! The food is outstanding. This place is tastefully decorated and very clean. As we ate our dinner there was a steady stream of customers picking up their carry out orders. I had Pita Zetta with a grilled pita topped with generous amounts of spinach and artichoke with cheese. Ummm! It was so delicious! My husband had Mousaka which is Greek Lasagna with House Bechamel Sauce. He loved it too. We also shared a very well prepared Greek Salad. Food is authentic, not a fast food. We were delighted to find this place. The only thing I missed was being able to eat off plates instead of a carryout box and real silverware instead of plastic ware. However, this family run business is a true treasure. We will definetly return.

Very friendly straight from the get go. As soon as you open the front door, yes... you are greeted with a Heart Felt OPA!! You can tell this is not some chain. Ma and Pa are right there! The food is prepared fresh and tasted very good. I had a Greek Salad and since my general rule of thumb is to always have some sort of meat on my salad, I had it topped with their kabob style chicken. Yum! I will be back! Get some!
(4)Jeff T.
The whole family 2 kids 2 adults loved the food and service! The gyro was fantastic, lentil soup was flavorful and spicy, marinated chicken was served with hummus vs. the dairy sauce due to food allergy and was terrific. Halibut was fresh and meatballs were tasty. We will definitely return. Local owner and not a chain.
(5)Ross C.
Excellent food! Staff is friendly and the place is very clean. Definitely get your money's worth with the quality and quantity of food. Highly recommended!

In a word - fantastic. I can't imagine there being a better gyro in Fort Wayne. Fresh, perfectly seasoned. Couldn't ask for more. Oh, and the soup is awesome. Can't spell it, but it's the one that starts with an "A". Sort of like cream of chicken with a lemony peppery hint to it and rice or orzo pasta in it. Awesome. Head to Pita Village now!!!
(4)David S.
The gyro was good, overloaded on tzatziki sauce, but still good. Side Greek salad was great. Grape leaves were a little below average. The leaves were heavy and veiny.
