We have been coming here for years and love it. Ordered carry out this evening and the order was messed up causing me to wait an extra 15 minutes. The manager personally went to the kitchen to check on my food and brought it out to me. To make things right, he let me pick a dessert for free. A+ customer service.

I come visit this place once a year for my anniversary since I proposed to my wife here. Amazing food, a great atmosphere, and good service. Ask for oil and cheese with your bread.

As much as I would like to support a hometown chain, I've continued to be disappointed with Casa even after eating at the different locations at least 8 times over the last few years. The dishes that I have ordered have been mediocre at best. And each time I go, I've been hoping for a good dish. The dishes haven't been really bad. They are just not really good. I've lived in California, NY and DC and I know good food when I have it. But the thing that drove me to post this review is the horrible service I received from the manager at the Stellhorn location on an evening in February, 2012. On that evening, my friend and I chose Casa's for dinner. When we were ordering, the waitress, who was nice, explained that they were all out of bread. She was appropriately apologetic and we appreciated that. I asked her if they had absolutely no bread and she explained that I could order breadsticks, but I would have to buy those. Hmmmm...... I'm thinking to myself, your restaurant is so cheap, that they can't substitute the breadsticks for the complimentary bread that they normally serve and that their customers expect?????? I reluctantly ordered the breadsticks because I like to always have bread with my Italian food. The waitress served the 2 breadsticks and I found that they are charging $2.99 for just the two breadsticks. After thinking about it for a few minutes, I concluded that this must be a poor decision by an inexperienced waitress and that a manager would surely take care of it if I brought it to her attention. So I asked to speak to a manager. A lady with short hair came to the table. She didn't smile; she made no inquiry as to if everything is okay. She just came to the table and stared. I asked the manager if they could substitute the breadsticks for the bread that they were out of. She said, no we don't do that. She said that was a decision by the owner. She made no apology, she didn't offer to do anything to compensate for the missing bread. She just stared like she could care less. I wouldn't expect that from a new waitress, let alone a manager!!! I was pretty stunned. Rarely, have I had such bad customer service and never from a manager. Manager's are normally trained to try to make every customer satisfied if possible. She made absolutely no effort. On the contrary, she was a bit snippy. At that point, I quickly concluded that it would be useless to try to point out what a poor customer service position she was taking. I just told her that I would never return to Casa's if that's the way they treat their customers. So not only, will I never return to Casa's. I will tell everyone I know, at every opportunity, about my experience there. And I will encourage them to take their business to a restaurant that appreciates their customers and understands good customer service. Clearly, Casa's doesn't get it. Maybe Casa's managers should be required to read a customer service book like "In Search of Excellence" or some similar book which talks about companies who provide great customer service. If an owner of Casa's reads this review, I recommend that they have their managers go through some customer service training. Surely, if this manager would have been trained, she would have handled the situation much more appropriately.

Casa Grille (and the other Casa area family restaurants) is a very good Italian place in Fort Wayne. The price is right, and the pasta is very good. However, the reason I'm writing this review are for the two things that have always stood out in my mind from Casa Grille: 1 - With the meal, they bring out a very tasty bread, and they're well known for giving you olive oil to dip it in. However, the unique and memorable thing here is that they put Parmesan cheese in the olive oil. I know that's a little detail, but it's very delicious, and always stood out in my mind about the Casa restaurants. 2 - The baked pasta (Pasta Al Forno) is EXCELLENT here. If you like baked pasta, this is about as good as it gets. Particularly, I'd recommend the Spaghetti Parmigiano, though all of their baked pasta selections are likely as tasty. The sauce is rich, deep, and tasty, and the cheese on top really brings the dish together. If you're looking for a great appetizer here, try the toasted ravioli. Also, they have a very good Tiramisu.

Brought my mom here, and she actually enjoyed the place. She normally doesn't like to go out to eat, but ended up enjoying her meal, especially the bread and olive oil+parmesan. The food is decent and the portions are large. The cannelloni is very rich and creamy. And I'd recommend the butter tortellini.

We've been Casa fans for over two decades, and I have to say that the Stellhorn Rd. location is my favorite, not only for atmosphere, but also for menu. Yes, the Casa (house) salad could use a touch less dressing, but there are plenty of other salads on the menu to feed your need for roughage! Par example, the Raspberry Pollo Insalata....PACKED with everything you won't find at your local casual dining chain monstrosity. You get wood-fire-grilled chicken, field greens (not just romaine or iceberg), including everything from frisee to radicchio, healthy doses of crunchy pine nuts, thin-sliced red onions and a lovely gorgonzola, topped with a light raspberry glaze/dressing. The only dish I've ever taken issue with is the Eggplant Parm......I have to order it well-done, or else it often arrives as a soggy conglomeration of cheese and watery eggplant. Perhaps ordering it with the marinara on the side might help that, but who knows, it STILL tastes wonderful! Atmosphere at the Grille is lovely. Maybe I'm just smitten with tile floors, dark woods and colorful paintings, but I think this location has the best set-up, with an exhibition kitchen, main dining area, separate bar/dining area and two side rooms, you can do groups or a 'somewhat' intimate dinner for two, if you can stand the wait! I say 'somewhat' due to the fact that the sound level is a bit high, but you can still hold a conversation at your table without having to scream! Service has never been anything less than professional. Again, blowing away local casual chains, where fake glee and flair rule the tableside manner. Servers just LOOK good and make you feel good about being there! Price level just depends on your particular budget. We save trips to Casa for special occasions, because we have a lower entertainment budget, but it is always worth the price for the amount and quality of food and the high standard of service. All in all, I think this chain, and particularly the Stellhorn location, is one of the best in Ft. Wayne.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Casa Grille! We were apartment hunting and stopped in for lunch knowing nothing about it, mentioned to our server that we were vegetarian, and she quickly brought us separate vegetarian menus! That was excellent, as it saved us from having to figure out what on the regular menu we could eat. So helpful! I ordered some kind of capellini with mushrooms and garlic butter, and my husband had pasta primavera. We both enjoyed our meals, as well as the bread that came with them. *Pro tip - go with the herb infused olive oil instead of the butter that comes with the bread, it is AMAZING. What really made this meal for me, however, was our awesome server, Tiffany. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience, and once she found out we were moving to the area, brought me a list of other local places she thought we would enjoy. Hoosier hospitality at its best!

The sauces over take the dishes. The food was good but lot of waitresses standing around in main area which distracts. The pizza was good as well.

In town visiting friends who visit this joint nearly weekly, so I gave it a try! I had the Tutti pizza, and the ingredients and flavors were good. Well seasoned sausage, pepperoni, and thinly sliced mushrooms covered in melted cheese. My problem lies in the presentation which was to the detriment of the crust. It was served on a plate which allowed the crust to become soggy from the first bite. By the time I got to the second half of the pizza it was a gummy mess. Prices were in line with expectations but the restaurant was uncomfortably cold, to the point that the servers were standing around the pizza oven to get warmed up. Overall not bad, but ambiance and food quality are lacking, and certainly not making the list...

The Casa restaurants are a mainstay in Fort Wayne, and some of them feature wood-fired pizza ovens. My favorite item is the Tutti pizza, which is a delightful sausage & mushroom with a Napoletana-style crust. The only downside was the revelation that my favorite casual dining red wine, Malvasia, was not in stock due to a temporary import shortage.

If you've ever had authentic and high quality Italian food, then you will most likely be disappointed with this place. I would equate it to the quality of a Chinese restaurant serving Italian food in New York. The meals taste canned, the food looks sloppy and the service is crap. The only decent aspect is the decor. If you have to choose, you might as well go to Zianos in which the food and the service is 10x better.

I don't eat often at Casa, but when I do it's often a pleasant experience. I ate lunch with relatives recently there and again found my experience very enjoyable. Since it was lunch, we didn't have to wait in line, but the place was pretty much packed out. I like seeing that because it tells me others also value the quality of their meals. The hostess seated us, and the waitress offered a menu immediately...so there was absolutely no wait. She patiently allowed us time to look over our menus. When we went to order, I personally had never heard of or ate a sandwich they were offering as a daily special. The waitress was able to let me know exactly what was on the sandwich and how popular it was. It ended up that I chose a different daily special (All under $10, a good buy for the quantity and quality of the food you receive.). My relative ordered their soup and salad. The salad was huge and my relative said the soup was delicious. The sauce on my pasta dish was impeccable, savory with a bit of tang to it, I loved it. During our stay, the waitress was always there when we needed her, but never bothersome. If you're looking for a good meal, enjoyable atmosphere, and all at a good price, I can highly recommend Casa, you won't be disappointed!

Coming from a big Italian family, I'm a bit jaded when it comes to Italian food. Casa is pretty good as far as commercial style Italian restaurants go. The restaurants have a slightly elegant atmosphere, and the staff are all very friendly and nice looking. I don't eat the marinara sauce here. I haven't found anyone with better sauce than grandma's. I usually will get an alfredo or a white sauce. My favorite dish here is their Pasta Con Verdura. In my opinion, this is the best dish on their menu. The house salad dressing is also very good, along with the croutons. I could eat their salad for a meal any day, it's that good. They also have a really nice moscado that we special order from Cap N Cork when we're in the mood for something fruity.

We were with friends and went to the Stellhorn Road location Tuesday night before going to a performance at the Embassy Theater. If you are a vegetarian or are watching your intake of saturated fats, you need to be extra careful. In looking through all the pasta dishes, the tomato sauces contained meat. The house dressing contains anchovies and even the croutons are crisped in meat "juices". In a panic, I misread the description for pasta con vendura thinking is contained all the veggies listed. Instead it has a few mushrooms and you can add one veggie to it for $13.49. My husband followed my lead and ordered the same thing. The pasta and few mushrooms were swimming in a heavy cream sauce. This is really fettuccine alfredo (heart attack on a plate) with large shell pasta from a box. The "loaf" of bread was just really plain white bread similar to the rolls from Subway rather than nice crusty Italian bread. The people of Fort Wayne deserve better than this. I suggest the owners get out and try some real Italian restaurants and see what they offer. Even the chain Macaroni Grill has some lower fat/vegetarian options and good bread and salad. With a glass of wine each and a side salad we spent $55 and I feel totally ripped off.

I went to the DuPont location twice last week and the Stellhorn location tonight with my entire family, the manager there is a stand up guy, and he does a great job with the staff. I've ordered the Gamberi Mainara the previous two times that I went last week and the shrimp wasn't as succulent or as spicy as it was tonight, delicious! For dinner I had the rotisserie chicken with stuffed pork and cherry sauce which were exquisite but the chicken wasn't as juicy as I'd like it to be. For dessert, the raspberry cheesecake was greater than the tiramisu. Overall, Casa is a Fort Wayne gem and I would highly recommend the DuPont and Stellhorn locations to my closest friends.

Frequent diner (for over 3 decades) and received the WORST experience at dinner tonight. Upon entering the restaurant the hostess staff was incredibly rude. When a situation arose with seating our party, we calmly addressed our concerns with the manager on duty (Nico) whom specifically told us we were lying. Once we were actually seated the hostess who made the error was exceptionally rude as she showed us our table. We readdressed this with the manager who was still not apologetic nor willing to make our experience better. We will NOT be back to this location.

Best Italian food in the Fort by far and it's locally owned!!! No chains here. The food is good. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is great. The service is great. The portions are large, but I've never had a dish that didn't taste great the next day for lunch. The kids meals are extremely reasonable. The seasonal specials are always worth a try. Try the house salad, the cavatelli quatro fromaggi with the ground sausage, and a slice of cheese cake with the raspberry sauce. Round it out with a few glasses of the Malvasia and you've got a meal to die for.

This is a pretty popular local chain, with pretty good pasta, but not great or anything. The atmosphere is usually kind of loud, and the place is generally full, so that makes it more fun for dinners out. The gluten free pasta is fairly good, and the vegetarian menu is so-so, kind of limited and pretty salty overall. This place is better for a local dinner with friends or a date than for the food itself.

Wayne.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
