The food here is good. Probably some of the best that you will find in Fort Wayne, but I often get the impression that they are overextending themselves with preparations that verge on being creative for the sake of being creative or flavors that are somewhat overbearing (and I will offer the caveat that I am normally a big fan of food that is daring and original -- the problem with Baker Street is that they are out of the safe zone on many of their dishes without making it so far as to be truly interesting). Steaks are always cooked exactly to order, but seafood can be occasionally slightly overdone. It would be nice if they offered prime-grade beef, and really they ought to for the price of most of their steaks. I have two gripes with Baker Street, though: 1) Why is it so absurdly dark in here? I have never been in a restaurant that was so dark. You get the feeling you are about to be the victim of a mafia hit. The last time I was there, the waiter had to use his phone as a flashlight so one of my party could read the menu. 2) Service is prompt and oh-so-friendly, but I find it annoyingly casual. The last time I was there, our server asked for our first names, which I found extremely inappropriate. When I'm dining out I am there to enjoy the food and my friends' company, not to make new friends with the waitstaff. If this happens again I will not be back. Still, this is Fort Wayne, so I give it four stars. In a real city it would be three.

I went here on Friday night while spending a leisurely weekend in Auburn with my boyfriend. We drove into Fort Wayne to dine here after reading several positive reviews. They were on-point. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance with very romantic dining. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and it's contents and confidently made great recommendations for us. We both ordered two of their martinis- White Pom Kiss: Peach vodka, fresh lime juice, pomegranate and white cranberry juice. Momo "Taro" : Peach vodka, orange juice, sparkling Moscato, and sweet lime juice finished with a sugar rim. Both were excellent, fruity w/o being overwhelmingly sweet. We started with the scallops which were the largest scallops we have both ever seen and had a bit of a kick to them. We then had house salads that came with a creamy italian type dressing; the only odd part was the clementines didn't exactly match the salads, but as that being the only off-point - we couldn't complain. I had the sweet french filet wrapped in bacon with a hollandaise sauce over top and I substituted the creamed spinach for bacon marmalade brussel sprouts. I just found out it's gluten free as well (sans the fried onions - which I left alone.)My boyfriend had the pork tenderloin with chorizo hash. Both of our dishes were absolutely fabulous. Our bill totaled about $100 which I'm impressed with for all the food and martinis that we consumed. If I ever find myself in Fort Wayne again, I will totally be revisiting this restaurant.

After a long day of business travel and back to back meetings it was nice to have a good meal served by a friendly face. My steak was cooked perfectly. My drink was good. And my waitress, Lauren was wonderful. I will be sure to come again the next time I'm in Ft Wayne!

I have only been once and I was not impressed by the quality considering the price. Might need to give it another chance.

After Mass last night, my aunt and I were looking to enjoy cocktails and appetizers outdoors in the beautiful weather. We decided to stop in and see if Baker Street had an spots on the patio and I am so glad we did. First of all, the service was excellent. Every person we met, from the women at the door to waiters, bartenders, servers- all were polite, friendly, knowledgeable and willing to engage in a dialogue about the products they were putting out. We started with martinis. I had the Blackberry Sage and my aunt tried the Melon H20. Both were sweet but not cloyingly so, and didn't have an overwhelming alcohol flavor. The blackberry sage was a little more complex and less sweet and came beautifully garnished with a lemon wedge flagged with a sage sprig. The melon H20 came with a sugar rim and was fairly sweet but a good summery refreshing cocktail. Next we ordered the barbecue shrimp appetizer. It was beautifully presented, three huge prawns wrapped in bacon and coated in Kansas style BBQ sauce atop a crunchy creamy jalapeño coleslaw on top of a fried green tomato. The combination of flavors was UNREAL! I loved it and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. The only criticism I have is that I wish there would have been more heat from the slaw. To finish out the evening, we wanted to sample some dessert martinis but didn't want to overindulge so I asked our waiter if we could try a half martini. He asked the bartender and later emerged with two beautiful and adorable mini-martinis- one dark chocolate and one salted caramel. I suggested to him and the bar tender, who came out to talk to us and take a picture of her miniature creations, that they should start doing martini flights so that people could sample several of their wonderful martini flavors. Everyone we mentioned it too seemed enthused by the idea so look for martini flights at Baker Street in the future! All in all we had a wonderful experience. The staff catered to our every need, even crafting signature miniature cocktails for us and the food we tried was delicious. If you're looking for a nice evening on the patio, give Baker's Street a try.

First of all the service was good ! Attentive but not overbearing . Second the food was not so great Just so so on everything I ordered the recommended special which was suppose to be "prime" steak Even double questioned the server was she saying USDA prime or choice beef. Said the very best prime chairman reserve. I said ok to the bone in ribeye It came with a very questionable sausage peppers topping that was trying to disguise the taste of a poor quality bland steak Ordering bone in ribeye I expected a flavorful steak not something I couldn't swallow the first bite. This was not even choice in my rating Then the baked potato was cold and not fresh The wine was good. French onion soup ok. Overall I now remember why we don't come here often (6 to 8 times). Because I can only remember one good meal out of all the try's. better options are available but the management was nice tonight unlike past experience where they thought just Because they were suppose to be a good restaurant they were. Luckily this time the staff realized they had to earn us coming back and it needed to be right I will try it only once more. I hope it is better. Need better quality meat and better recipes next time

My sisters and I were in town for a concert, and thought we'd have a nice steak dinner. Baker Street was absolutely perfect. They had one sister's favorite moscato, unique martini options for my other sister, and - best of all - they had gumballhead on tap for me! In Chicago most places limit Gumballhead to 1 at a time per customer, so I was super excited to have it on tap here. Two of us convinced my non-seafood eating sister to try the crab dip. OMG, it was amazingly delicious. We could only eat a few flatbread pieces each, which is really a shame, since our hotel did not have a refrigerator. Next, we each had the house salad with their home made dressing. Again, delicious. Had I not been saving room for more gumballhead, I would have cleared the plate. Then our entrees came. Two of us got variations of the filet, while the third had salmon. Everything was melt-in-you-mouth delicious. My filet with no extras was cooked perfectly and the best steak I've had in at least a year (at Morton's). My sister thought hers was one of the best she has ever had and she has also dined at some upscale Chicago steak houses. Finally, the flavor on the salmon was the perfect compliment to the fish. It was honestly the perfect experience for the three of us on a girls getaway. If I ever have the opportunity to have dinner in Ft Wayne again, there's no question that I'd come back.

We took a chance on a sunny day and drove to this restaurant from Indianapolis. The food was amazing. I am a big fan of wedge salads and this wedge was the best I've ever had. It was also nice to be able to order a half salad along with our entree. I had the salmon with blue cheese en croute and my sister had fish tacos. Superb. I have dietary restrictions and my sister has multiple food allergies, and our server remembered them and checked all our choices. We will definitely made the trip again! Bravo!

Had the ribeye. It was pretty juicy which I prefer over it being to dry. Took awhile to get the check, and for them to pick it up. The bill wasn't to bad. I'd eat here again.

Baker Street is my favorite restaurant in Fort Wayne. The food is amazing. They have some very creative dishes and often find those are the best. The soup chef has incredible soups. Best Asian soup I have tasted even compared to Hong Kong. Service has always been spot on. Highly recommend!!

Great experience! If you are in Fort Wayne, this place is a must. The pretzel bread is to die for, and the staff are all kind and accommodating. The portions are large, and cooked to perfection. If you go in, ask for Jennifer....she's the best server in the business!

As always, my wife wrote this for her facebook page. Summer Quest - Week 8: Baker Street on N. Clinton St. in Fort Wayne has long been one of our favorite spots for dinner but we have never tried it for lunch until yesterday, and we're wondering why we waited so long. Baker Street, in and of itself, is a unique dining experience with its wonderful atmosphere and gourmet dishes found only in this establishment. Being "Summer Quest" we requested seating on the patio located on the north side of the building just outside the bar. The ambience of the patio is reminiscent of a New Orleans restaurant courtyard with its privacy walls, ornamental trees and greenery, soft contemporary rock music playing close by, and a wrought iron gate leading to the parking lot. Indiana's weather helped with this illusion by providing plenty of sun and shade with a little humidity thrown in for good measure. It wasn't long before Trish appeared tableside to welcome us and inform us of the day's features. Trish is one of those rare individuals who can perfectly balance professionalism and personality to make customers feel as if they've known her forever and are fortunate to have made her acquaintance. I was in the mood for a salad when we arrived and I almost took Trish up on the featured Salmon BLT Salad. But a menu staple, the Lobster Cobb Salad ($16.00), took a firmer hold. The star of this creation is poached Maine lobster tossed with tarragon aioli resting on mixed greens alongside diced avocado, chopped hard-boiled eggs, halved cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, crisp bacon, and crumbled bleu cheese. House dressing is provided on the side. The tarragon aioli nicely complimented the lobster which was fresh, sweet, and firm and blended well with the salad's other components to make the Lobster Cobb a most delightful dish. Scott opted for the Walleye luncheon entrée ($16.00) which is served with steamed fresh green beans and fingerling potatoes. The walleye is a generous portion coated in a Dos Equis beer batter, deep fried, then drizzled with jalapeno tartar sauce. The end result is a beautiful presentation of moist and flaky expertly prepared fish with a crisp tempura-like coating. It has just enough tartar to enhance rather than detract from the walleye's delicate flavor and the vegetables are in perfect harmony with the fish. We have always loved Baker Street's signature pretzel bread which is served with cinnamon- and/or mustard- infused butter. It is freshly baked per table ensuring that every loaf is served soft and hot. If you haven't tried Baker Street, or if it's been a while since your last visit, we have to ask, "What are you waiting for?" Whether you go for lunch or dinner, we guarantee you'll have a wonderful dining experience filled with superb service and amazing cuisine. FYI: Full bar service is available. Smoking is permitted on the patio only.

Yes, the pretzel bread was good. Perhaps too good. That might be the reason I gave this place a 4 star. Here's why. Pretzel bread was soft, smooth and just plain good to eat after a long day of work. Ordered a Baker Street Wedge. Great great salad. Enjoyed every bite. Perhaps that is why the Prime Rib disappointed me. The meat itself was great, but the Bearnaise sauce was extremely salty to the point where I couldn't consume the sauce at all. Perhaps I expected a great steak experience and came away with a less than satisfactory ending to the meal. Still, if I am back in town on business and need to eat steak, I'll go here. Just won't be ordering a steak with Bearnaise sauce on it.

Let me start by saying that this place is probably 4.5 stars. Last night was the first visit for my wife and me, in an attempt to beat the Valentine's Day crowd a day early. It was quite busy, as it was Friday night and I suspect others had the same idea. The service is excellent. Amanda took very good care of us. The wine list is extensive, and they have 16 beers on draught, as well as an "old school" cocktail list which features pre-prohibition concoctions. Additionally, they will make you any drink you want, even if it's off-menu. We decided to sample the scallops ($26) as our appetizer, which were very good. A bit of spicy, just the way I like them. The pretzel bread is very good, but skip the mustard butter. Salads came next - she had the Caprese salad which looked awesome, and I the wedge, which was very good. For entrees, we both ordered specials - she had the short ribs ($26?), and I had the bone-in ribeye ($40). Both were tasty. We finished with the carrot cake and coffee, which were both excellent. The cake was more than enough for 2. I've noticed a few reviews here that slam the cuts and prices, but I don't feel this place was overpriced in the least. You should know what you're getting into. $40 is certainly not the most expensive steak out there, so don't expect the world. It was in my opinion, on par with other $40 steals I've had. All in all we spent about$150, but it was Valentine's Day... When we return we will probably keep it at or under $100.

This is our go-to date night restaurant. Great wine list has recently been updated. Love to sit at the bar or at one of the cozy tables in the bar area. Great draft beer selection. Bartenders are always very knowledgeable. Love their salads, and their house dressing is my fav. Great specials, I almost always order one of their specials, be it an app or an entree, and have not been disappointed yet. Nice outdoor seating when weather permits. Desserts are delicious, esp the bananas foster. Lobster bisque is excellent and burgers and buffalo sandwich are great. Very accommodating to larger groups. Definitely our favorite place in Fort Wayne.

Great service & great food. I choose Baker Street Steakhouse for my birthday dinner this last Friday and my boyfriend and I were definitely not disappointed. Large wine/ spirits selection- I went for my go-to: a dirty martini--delicious. I highly recommend the lobster bisque when they have it. It was some of the best I have had. I chose an 8oz filet mignon for my entree accompanied with smashed potatos- WOW. Best filet I have had in Fort Wayne. I enjoyed my complimentary birthday dessert later that evening at home- banana cheesecake with chocolate crumb crust. Cannot wait to for another visit to explore more on the menu.

Service was outstanding and the food was fantastic! We started with the blackened scallop appetizer which has blue cheese, candied walnuts and a sweet and sour sauce, such great flavor a! I then had the lobster Cobb salad which was fabulous. Generous portion and a delicious dressing made this salad superb! Oh and last but not least, the pretzel bread with mustard butter...a must have!!!

My friend and I came from Indy for business and stopped here for last minute dinner plans, he got the Copper River salmon and I got the 6oz fillet...absolutely to die for! We sat at the bar and had an amazing bartender/server named Alicia...right on top of things and never rushed us through the meal! Kudos to this hire and missed you Ryan as it's the whole reason we came here.

The food, the drinks, and the service were all excellent during my recent visit to Baker Street Steakhouse. It's definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a good meal and don't mind spending a little more than ususal on a great steak.

"Winding your way down on Baker Street...", except its on Clinton St. The name is a bit odd and confusing (the staff thinks so too), but the food is pretty good. Sure its a steakhouse, and you may ask "how can you screw that up?" Well, you certainly can screw it up and at these prices, that would be fatal to me. However, Baker Street is not bad at all - the salad, steak, dessert and wine were very good. The service overall was good as well. So why not a 4 or 5 star? Well - this is not Ruth Chris or Morton's or NY Prime; its good, but not to that level. Second reason - the bathrooms; yes I said it - the bathroom! Toilet obviously had trouble flushing, the paper towel dispenser (automatic) would not put out paper after washing my hands and the smell was unpleasant. Its the whole experience folks that makes a 5-star restaurant a 5-star restaurant. If someone asked me to have dinner at Baker Street, I would have no hesitation in saying "yes", but for the price your are paying, you would hope they can close the loop and be worthy of those prices.

Have not been in Fort Wayne long. But this is by far the best experience we have had. Maybe it is that we are coming from Chicago. But to get a meal with soup or salad, starch and vegetables with this quality for this price is a real find. Every aspect is well thought out. The service, flavors and attention to detail. I am a f&b guy so tend to be over critical on food service. Is this a Michelin experience no but again that last time I was at a Michelin three star restaurant it was 5 times the price of this place. Quality food, attentive service and value for the experience. This will be our go to place for an exceptional meal. Did I mention the staff is fantastic!

I couldn't decide if I wanted to give this place 4 or 5 stars, but I'm feeling generous and I do think it's above 4. Since moving to Fort Wayne from Chicago, my husband and I have been trying just about every restaurant in Fort Wayne. Frankly we were surprised by how swanky Baker Street was inside. I've never sat in such comfortable chairs at a restaurant! I also didn't expect the food to be as good as it was. We had fresh raw oysters for an appetizer and we couldn't stop eating the fresh warm pretzel bread. I had chicken l'orange and my husband had a steak. I think it was the best meal we've had in Fort Wayne. Not only was the food fresh and delicious, our server was outstanding. He was friendly and enthusiastic and made sure we always had everything we wanted. Yes, it's a little spendy, but this is a perfect spot for a special night out. I can't wait to go back.

Went here for lunch and was quite surprised. The decor inside was beautiful, well appointed and one would think this was a much more expensive restaurant. I was taken aback. I had the salmon and it was wonderfully prepared and delicious. Well worth the money and the staff are very warm and friendly!

2.5*** It was ok(ish). Definitely priced high -- seemingly on par with major metropolitan areas pricewise. Yet it doesn't actually meet the same standard of food. Items done well are few and the rest are poor mimicries of (or failed attepts at) food gastronomy. Theyre trying too hard and just need to stick to the basics and do them well before charging these prices, especially in Fort Wayne. The pretzel bread doesn't taste lie true pretzel and parts of it were overly hard. I liked the sweet cinnamon butter best. Mustard butter was ok too but a little strange/excessive and actual mustard might have been better. The 'chop chop' salad was weird and something about it tasted off and not like a regular chopped salad. This was a rather small serving for a dinner salad. Also, I don't get the hype around the crab gouda cheese dip. It is wayyyyy too cream cheesy with next-to-no crab in it. It was served with pita and IN A BREAD BOWL. Again, can we say a little excessive here? Seeing a theme? The redeeming factor was the scallop appetizer, which was indeed sufficient as my dinner the second time. Seared, spicyyy (in a Cajun way with a dry rub), and largeeee (huge!) scallops. Cooked perfectly. If it had more lettuce, would have liked this as a salad option.

This was my first experience at Baker Street, as it was for my family. We went for my mom's birthday. The server took the time to learn our names, and took great care and consideration of my gluten allergy. He was knowledgable about what I could have and not have which isn't something you encounter often when dining out. The gluten free menu was quite expansive and even had a vegetarian section which suited me since I don't eat meat. The service and food was really fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the meal and experience at Baker Street.

Great service for a business dinner. Sat in the main room for a change and did enjoy it- usually I am in the bar area. Tried one of their fish specials (flounder) which was just okay. Liked their lobster bisque.

Fantastic restaurant! I came down to Fort Wayne for a weekend get away and decided to have dinner at this location. I love this place for many reasons.... The staff were very friendly as soon as I walked in the door. I said a table for one, and they treated me as they would a table of five. As someone who dines out as a party of one often, this is appreicative and unfortunately, very uncommon. I was instructed to have a seat at the bar. As soon as I sat at the bar a bartender took my order, noticed an open table and suggested I sit there. Given it was in a corner and alllowed me a little more room, I took the offer. He followed me to my table with my glass of wine. I must say, I was impressed that their wine pours were either 6 or 10oz. Given I am a wino, I ordered a 10 oz (only $12) and was extremely satisfied. The waitress came quickly after and was extremely pleasant. Although she different instruct me of the appetizer special I decided to order the brushetta. It is fantastic! Its like a cheese pizza with a balsamic drizzle. Very filling and awesome! I decided to order the fetaccini alfredo. There were plenty of noodles, cooked perfectly with an alferdo/pesto sauce, sun dried tomatoes and WONDERFUL goat cheese crumbled over the top. The pasta came with a choice of soup or salad. I had the house salad (you can upgrade, if you'd like), but found it awesome. The bread that came with the salad was also OUTSTANDING. It was basically a warm pretzel with two butters (cinnamon and garlic). Given I was stuffed after a partial amount of the appetizer (which a staff member so kindly offered to box up for me after she noticed I was done), the salad, the pretzel bread, a large glass of wine and the pasta (enough for two and a half portions), I turned downed the dessert that was graciously offered to me. The food was outstanding. The ambiance is out of this world and the service is fantastic. If you are ever in Fort Wayne and want to eat at a fantastic restaurant, this is the place to go!!

Reservations a must. Front hostess was not friendly. Especially after driving over 5 1/2 hours to come in from Illinois. 4 hostesses at front but only interested in taking care of those with reservations. Need more attention to welcome people.

The arancini was delightful. Surprisingly light for a pan fried appetizer, and the flavorful tomato sauce it was plated with was spot on! I've never had risotto served in this form...but I'm sold on it now! We could have easily filled up on these, but after the main dishes were served, we were glad we waited. FYI: You must upgrade your salad from the house salad. (That is the only downside to the whole meal...the house salad is not at the same level as anything else we had.) We upgraded one salad to the spinach salad with goat cheese...very tasty. The salads were served with a small loaf of pretzel bread...a wonderful addition to the greens. The mahi-mahi was super...served on a bed of risotto with scallions, wrapped in bacon, and plated with a pepper sauce. The risotto was buttery smooth, the fish was a wonderful cut, the bacon flavored & enhanced the fish, and the pepper sauce made everything pop! Can we go back today and have another? The 12oz Fillet with blue cheese was done just right as medium rare. Great piece of meat! Cheese amount was just enough to contrast with the meat but not overwhelm it. Served with whipped potatoes and a dark glaze on the meat & plate that made everything sing! We were too full to stay for dessert, but they sure looked good! Maybe next time. Wait staff was pleasant and very helpful. We found the ambiance to be formal, but not stuffy, which made for a nice relaxing dinner. A little expensive, but we expected it, and feel like we received what we paid for.

Tonight's experience was not the best. Sat outside and my seat had the sun shining right in my eyes. Messed around with the umbrella until I got it tilted to shield the sun. Staff saw me but didn't offer to help. Server asked everyone's name. Neat approach to make us think we were going to have great service. Surprise! Had to wait for drinks, ice for our water, drink refills, clearing of empty glasses and taking of order! Food, at best, was ok. Nothing special. Not sure what the problem was because in the past we have loved the food and experience. Tonight? Not so much. Hope they can pick it up@

My bf and I really enjoyed eating at Baker Street. We went on the busiest day of the year (valentines day) and received amazing service. Reservation was on time and the hostess took a picture of us, thanks! We started off with raw oysters and sashimi appetizer which came out quickly. He had the salad and I had the french onion soup. I had the chilean sea bass and he had the french filet, both tasted very good and cooked very well. We also ordered the mac and cheese which tasted great but was way too much food. Finished our dinner with chocolate creme brulee. Our waitress was super friendly and very attentive, she must have refilled our drink 5 times. Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!!

Happy for the upscale option. Service was impeccable except that we were not presented with a wine/cocktail list when we were seated. I'm really pleased that they offer oysters on the half-shell and they were quite fresh. I was not so pleased with the Rockefeller oysters: they were a bit overwhelming and different from Rockefeller options I've had elsewhere. I won't order those again, but I will order the raw ones again in a heartbeat. Pricing was fair (about $2ea). Pretzel bread was outstanding, but wish they replenished it at least once. Steaks were delicious; bit pricier than necessary. For 2 people with apps, steaks, one cocktail & one creme brulee to share, the total with tip was around $130, give or take. All in all it's a refreshing & welcome big-city vibe (albeit big-city price tag). We felt comfortable in jeans and business-casual shirts. Lots of people came in dressy attire for special occasions; and lots of business people. Check out their special pre-fixe dinner events with wine pairings!

Just ok. Our steaks were either over cooked (filet, ordered medium) with no flavor or so tough (ribeye) I just couldn't finish it and how do you screw up a baked potato? Service was great, atmosphere is a little noisy. Will go back when we hear their steak quality improves. They'll charging for quality but not serving it up.

I have previously written a review for Baker Street, but it has been awhile since I have been here and I wanted to assure you it is still as good as it ever was. We went here for Easter and had a great meal. We sat in the front in the comfy chairs, I didn't request them, but am so happy we got a table in this section. I love the chairs! We ordered appetizers of shrimp cocktail and escargot. It was 4 VERY large shrimp and they were good. I didn't have the escargot, but my husband said it was good. Ordered the French onion soup - it could have had more cheese, but it was good. Meals were ribeye, sweet filet, and filet with king crab legs. YUM. All of it was cooked correctly and tasted wonderful. The king crab was huge and was some of the best my son said he has had. Desert was creme brulee and carrot cake. carrot cake was so large, I had to take half of it home. Service was great, except for the delay on getting the bread basket. We had to ask for it. It is wonderful pretzel bread and a luau bread that is really good and served warm. It is quite expensive so this will, unfortunately, have to stay a "special occasion" place for us, but it is top of our list when celebrate the next time.

I have been excited to try this place for awhile now. The excitement didn't last long, I guess I had bad luck tonight. I ordered a filet and added peppercorn, but I got a "french filet" with dijon hollandaise. They were quick to fix my order, but the next steak was definitely rushed and wasn't cooked to what I ordered (it was rare-ish, dark red cool center). At this point it was around 10:30 (we arrived at about 8:45) and they closed at 11:00, so I didn't want to ask to have it fixed again, and on top of it my friends were close to being finished already. The peppercorn crust was good, I just ate around the rare-ish center. The whipped potatoes were good, but nothing too exciting. The caesar salad was good, but it was just a typical caesar salad, nothing out of the ordinary. The pretzel bread was amazing though. I hate to be "that guy," and I never expect anything for free, but I was charged full price for my meal. A friend that was with me was kind of shocked I wasn't at least offered a small complimentary dessert... Oh well, back to Cork'n Cleaver next time!

Great atmosphere, this has become our go to place in Fort Wayne when we are looking for a nicer upscale place for a relaxing dinner when we don't have the kids. The steaks are great, and they have interesting features. Very creative menu.

I just ate here for the first time last week for lunch, and I have to say, I was impressed. This is exactly the kind of restaurant I have been missing since moving to Fort Wayne earlier this year - American with a touch of class and a little twist to the dishes. It's trendy in a more "traditional" way on the inside from the super comfy, plush chairs at the dining tables to the elegant bar and the staff is super friendly, informative about the food their offering without overdoing it or being pushy/pretentious. And for the type of restaurant they are, the prices are completely reasonable in my opinion. I loved the two different kinds of butter for the pretzel bread. My boyfriend got a southwest burger (which was actually cooked to the temperature he requested) that he devoured along with the house potato chips that came with their own dipping sauce. I got the Cuban sandwich which is like an American take on a Cuban sandwich and it was so yummy and filling. The fries that accompanied it were delicious too. I honestly can't wait to go back and try more of the items on their menu.

This is a really beautiful, upscale restaurant. I stopped in with my mom when I was visiting a few weeks ago, and I had a fantastic Salmon Goat Cheese Salad (Char-grilled salmon served over fresh spinach and romaine lettuce with fresh raspberries, apple pear chutney, and fried goat cheese; finished with raspberry vinaigrette). The fried goat cheese was perfection, and the salmon was cooked beautifully. With the chutney, you almost don't even need any dressing, but I used a little of it. This was nice and fresh and made for a wonderful lunch. Their espresso machine wasn't working, which was a total bummer, but I did try a few bites of the (GIANT!) Chocolate Crème Brûlée. The service was outstanding. I'd definitely go back here the next time I'm in town.

Amazing, flavorful, melt in your mouth filets. New York strip also wonderful. Beef tips in gravy, meh, not so much. Oyster stew is delicious. Chop chop salad delightful. Garlic mashed potatoes not very good, but next time we'll try another side. We will be back!

When you're in Fort Wayne and you're looking for the absolute best she has to offer, you're going to want to hit up Baker St. If you ask anyone from the Fort where to get a great cocktail, many will tell you Club Soda, But as a cocktail fanatic I'm going to tell you right now. Baker Street's bar is where to go for creative cocktails in a nice bar atmosphere. When it comes to food. Hands down Baker St. is the winner. The worst that has ever happened to me was a few slightly under cooked scallops one night but never again has that happened. The service is spectacular. The staff is knowledgeable and there when needed, invisible when not. It does cost a pretty penny. You're gonna spend $75 bucks probably with a drink, app and 2 entrees. But it is worth every penny! If you haven't been it's a must in the Fort.

Took a first date here, was not familiar with the Fort Wayne area so of course I yelped it! It was pretty much waht I expected from a steak house, the nice thing was that when you order an entree your sides are included (salad or soup and assorted veggies) I wish they would have had shrimp coctail for an appetizer, we had Tuna for an appetizer, I had my usual Filet, and the date had the special, Ribeye with some brussel sprouts sauteed with some other seasoning. My dinner was prepared well, plate presentation was good, I was a little jealous of the special that the other party ordered it looked better than mine! They have pretzel bread that is deliciuos! Another note, they have a decent selection of 1/2 bottles of wine, which is good, because even though the food was priced fair, the wine list was a little over priced.

When you look at the negative reviews of Baker Street you see the same things repeated. Low quality food, high end prices. They are not lying. My steak was over cooked and certainly not the quality cut of meat I would expect from the prices. Service was slow and unprofessional. Our server spent ten minutes having a personal conversation with a co-worker while our, and others, drinks were empty. When you have Cork n Cleaver as your competition, you need to elevate your game a little. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation there.....

This is easy... one of my favorites in Fort Wayne in this price range... I would put it in the same category as Eddies and the old "Summit Club".. They have a nice lounge/bar area of you are not up for a full meal or just want a nice place to sit after work for a quick drink.. (great appetizers too) Restaurant side: Consistency is the key here.. What I had tonight, will be what I had a week ago whether I liked it or not.. What I do like, stays the same way on my next visit so props.. I do try dishes out of my normal here just because there have been a lot of foods I have acquired a taste for over the years I never cared for.. After all, I eat at most places because they can do dish better than I can as well as introduce me to some new fare I may not normally try.. Personal favorites here are the prime rib and porter house cuts.. Price is certainly premium here so expect things to be right or just send them back... The crew here is great.. always attentive and happy to fix any issues you might have..

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Baker Street last week. The meal was great, we tried a different side dish - the bacon macaroni and cheese, it was wonderful! My husband got the Beef Marsala. I got the French Onion Soup and the Spinach Goat Cheese salad. Everything was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive and made the dining experience enjoyable!

While we had great service and friendly faces sitting with us at the table, our food was sub par. For a steakhouse you'd think that the meat would come out just the way you order it. My husband ordered a steak med. rare and it came back well done and cool. We would have commented to the waitress about it, because we didn't know if our new friends would react well. Our friends couldn't stop talking about how they frequent this place once a week and we didn't want to offend. As for my food, I ordered the special grouper fish with pineapple risotto. My fish was fishy and my risotto was sticky and mushy. Not a good sign for an establishment on a Friday night.

Bring your rich granny because the food is bland and expensive. Once an Uno's now a Baker Street with the same lovely brick ambiance now with black trim, low lighting, and stuck-up help who rather talk to each other than serve you. There were no offerings on the menu which would make me go back either. We tried the scallop appetizer, steaks, and seafood. Two drinks, one appetizer, and two entrees with small tip for crummy service was $95.

My boyfriend and I went here for this birthday. We were seated immediately, I chose to sit outside on the patio because it was a nice day. Our appetizer was shrimp cocktail and we both had soup. My boyfriend had a filet, and I had chicken alfredo. The food was fantastic! The pretzel bread that is served with the soup is delicious. Both of our meals were cooked perfectly and the serving size wasn't too big or small. Our waitress was super-friendly and checked on us regularly. Overall the environment, service, and food quality of this restaurant is what makes it one of the best I've been too. The bill was expensive, but it was definitely worth it. If I am going to Fort Wayne for dinner, this would be my number one pick!

I relocated to FW recently and heard good things about Baker Street as well as 3-4 other restaurants. I was looking forward to trying it, but also keeping an open mind. I know this is not a food town and wasn't expecting a culinary masterpiece, but I was expecting a decent dinner. I have tried Baker Street twice and am sorry to say it is overpriced and mediocre. I actually don't mind the cost as much as the food. They are trying to elevate themselves in the culinary world by integrating rare dishes onto the menu (e.g., snails), but they'd do better by learning to make a decent salad...or soup. I am sorry to say it's better to tune into Food Network for inspiration...and cook at home!

As always, the food and service was terrific. From the breads and salads to the appetizers and steaks, everything is wonderful. Sushimi tuna, calamari, house salad, filet with lobster or filet with bleu cheese, bananas foster and pretzel bread always make for a nice meal. Select from the many fine wines and enjoy, perhaps, the Baker Streets of Gold. The servers are always very pleasant. Enjoy!

This was our first experience with Baker Street. We had high expectations, but things fell short of the mark. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and informative. The martinis were also very tasty. I had the Holy Coconut and Banyan Tree. Both of them had a lot of flavor and were really smooth. The pretzel bread and seasoned butters were really good. The creme brulee was up there with the best I have had. The flourless ganache cake was also really good. Our entrees were just OK. I had the Mushroom Garlic Strip and my wife had a filet. My steak had many tough spots... not what I expect from prime quality steak and it really wasn't flavorful. Having full cloves of garlic mixed in with my mushrooms was also an unwanted surprise. I was hoping for good garlic flavor, but the whole cloves were mushy and didn't have much flavor. The gratin potatoes were OK. I was hoping for more Gruyere taste though. My wife said her steak was also lacking flavor, but the Bearnaise sauce was really good. She had onion rings as her side and she said they were missing something. With the quality of the food not being on the same level as the price (we spent well over $100 on our meal), we'll probably pick one of Fort Wayne's other choices for steak on our next dinner out.

I can't say enough about the food and ambiance of BakerStreet. The service (by Jose') was the best I've had - ever. He knew everything about everything on the menu and was extremely helpful. The atmosphere was very personal. It seemed as if you were dining among family. As far as the food, the Hawaiian bread was out of this world (with a coconut surprise). We also tried a loaf of their other specialty, pretzel bread. Both were wonderful. The steaks - we had a sirloin and twin filets - were outstanding! Best in Fort Wayne - and I've tried them all. You WON'T be disappointed.

The food and decor are fantastic! We have had most of their apps and cant go wrong with any of them. The dinner lamb and risotto is terrific, but next time i will probably get the sauce on the side, its a tad overwhelming. The fillet is wonderful and so are the salads. Lobster on surf n turf was meh.

The Baker Street Steakhouse provides a comfortable upscale restaurant dining experience in terms of ambiance and service. However, its menu, the ingredients going into the food itself, and the preparation of the dishes is suspect. It was poor for several of the dishes that I ordered during my visit. The restaurant's ambiance is upscale, yet comfortable and not intimidating. The tables offer little privacy. As a diner, you feel as though you are participating in a group that is enjoying the restaurant together. All of the service staff is genuinely friendly, welcoming, warm and relaxed. These are not professionally trained servers in a formal dining room, but rather, young people from everyday life in an upscale, but relaxed environment. It is easy, almost natural, to spend an enjoyable evening with a friend over dinner at Baker Street. A dinner out is not just food alone. We arrived on a Friday night without reservations. We were told to expect a one hour wait in the bar. The hostess was almost apologetic, even though it was our responsibility to have made an advance reservation. This is one example of how Baker Street puts the customer at ease. Rather than intimidate us, two walk-ins on a busy night, we were welcomed. Service at the bar was also gracious and attentive. A table in the bar area freed up and we soon were studying the menu and having a second drink. (The menu is online at the restaurant's website.) Everything is a la carte. We decided upon one of the specials, an 18 oz. bone-in ribeye steak for two garnished with corn salsa and green (hot) chutney. For vegetables, we ordered spinach with mushrooms and gratiné potatoes. There were already a few hints of the eccentricity of Baker Street's kitchen. For bread, a fresh baked rye pretzel bread was served, along with whipped cinnamon butter and whipped mustard butter. There were several specials other than the ribeye for two that we ordered. The restaurant, or rather, its servers, were promoting the following special. That would be a 14 oz. boneless ribeye with a coffee and hazelnut crust. The accompanying sauce was a Bailey's Irish Cream base, reduced. The entire concept is creative, but crosses the line into bizarre. It was also unnecessary. Why would a ribeye steak need this kind of treatment? Perhaps more to the point, why choose a cut such as ribeye for this dish? Our dinner arrived. The ribeye was quite tough and not very flavorful. The meat definitely was not restaurant-quality prime, and there was not even a compensating flavor boost from the lower grade meat. The Baker Street Steakhouse is not serving restaurant grade beef. The corn salsa was not interesting. The combination of salsa and ribeye produced nothing. Nor did the green chili chutney do anything for the entree. I ended up scraping most of the corn salsa off the meat. The kitchen overdid the meat temperature a little, serving more towards medium rather than the medium rare that we ordered, but that part was not too bad. Baker Street's spinach and mushrooms did not work. Spinach and mushrooms is a fairly standard and simple French dish. The standard recipe uses spinach, mushrooms, salt, pepper and nutmeg. The Baker Street version was 75% mushrooms garnished with a few spinach leaves, with no nutmeg. And the mushrooms were no different than the ones you buy in the grocery store. The gratiné potatoes were tasty, but not exceptional. We were both a bit less trustful of the menu by the time dessert rolled around. Should we risk ordering key lime pie or the flourless chocolate cake? Maybe a safer crème bruleé or bananas Foster? We settled upon the bananas Foster. I'm sure that house brandy rather than cognac was used for the flambé but that is normal enough except in a truly formal restaurant. However, the ice cream that was served with the banana sauce was not top-quality. Baker Street should upgrade it. Good ice cream can't be that expensive for a restaurant to procure or serve. It seems that Baker Street strays from traditional recipes, probably as form of creativity. This would explain the pretzel bread with the flavored butters, and the unsuccessful spinach and mushroom dish. This creativity gets a bit strange, too. The hazelnut-coffee crusted ribeye with Bailey's Irish Cream sauce is an example. The restaurant uses inferior ingredients in places. In particular, the meat deserves an upgrade to restaurant-quality prime grade. This is a steakhouse, after all. Another issue is recipe composition. Corn salsa and green chili chutney did not work in the ribeye special. Somebody's palate in the kitchen is out of tune. This dish was being presented as a Friday night special. In summary, The Baker Street Steakhouse provides a comfortable upscale dining experience, except for the food itself. In my opinion, the food and selected recipe designs need some basic reworking in places.

Went here 2 nights in a row on big dinners. Not necessarily because I wanted to, but because I needed a safe bet. The ole' Crotch & Beaver is too dumpy. Don Halls is too 1986. Long drives through miles of strip malls to get to the other side of town is a depressing drag. Had a Wagyu NY strip with the chili aoili sauce, but made it custom with a thick blue cheese crust.. Must of been too much Merlot that led to this decision. But it was great. Blackened scallops appetizers are a perfect mix of succulence and spice. Night #2 I had this for my main course. Night #2 they had a special 30% off wine list. An excellent Lodi Cab was available. I think it was $22 a bottle. Local micro beer selection is exceptional. Awesome IPA and hefe.

This was the second year in a row that we've visited Baker Street while in town visiting relatives for the holidays. And for the second year in a row they didn't disappoint. The pretzel bread is wonderful. I had the turkey wrap and my husband had the reuben. Both were fantastic. Also they have a great beer selection on tap. Even at the end we discovered they had over charged us for one of the entree. But they quickly corrected it and apologized. I highly recommend this to anyone for a great lunch. Better than any Chain restaurant for sure!

Great experience! If you are in Fort Wayne, this place is a must. The pretzel bread is to die for, and the staff are all kind and accommodating. The portions are large, and cooked to perfection. If you go in, ask for Jennifer....she's the best server in the business!

Baker Street is my favorite restaurant in Fort Wayne. The food is amazing. They have some very creative dishes and often find those are the best. The soup chef has incredible soups. Best Asian soup I have tasted even compared to Hong Kong. Service has always been spot on. Highly recommend!!

Bravo!

The food was good, but the price was pretty high for the quality of what we ended getting.

Great neighborhood find. The food and service were great. We had a business meeting and the waitress did a good job working around our discussions and keeping the meal moving. The culmination was our prospect swooning when presented with bananas foster. Excellent place.

Great experience! If you are in Fort Wayne, this place is a must. The pretzel bread is to die for, and the staff are all kind and accommodating. The portions are large, and cooked to perfection. If you go in, ask for Jennifer....she's the best server in the business!

Another outstanding place in Fort Wayne where you can NOT go wrong. The food was incredible!! The service was extra-ordinary. The wine and drink service is well done! Dessert is must!! Great place to go for a special occasion!!

Better than any Chain restaurant for sure!

farm to table concept for many side dishes. most everything is home made. they know how to cook steak: i ordered med rare, friend ordered med and there was a clear difference

Bravo!

Great food, Great Service, fine selection of Beers. We has the chefs special, soul with crab and it was fantastic. Enjoyed our deserts, carrot cake and peanut butter pie. Portions are generous and we took home some doggie bags, great evening.

We were there with a larger group. The service was good but the food was below average, especially for the cost. I won't be going back unless someone else is paying. Save yourself some anguish and go to the Cork and Cleaver.

Great neighborhood find. The food and service were great. We had a business meeting and the waitress did a good job working around our discussions and keeping the meal moving. The culmination was our prospect swooning when presented with bananas foster. Excellent place.
