Surprisingly good pizza for a pretty reasonable price. Though it won't be mistaken for deep dish, the pizza actually has some crust, which makes it stand out from the ubiquitous Evansville cracker crust. One downside is that topping choices are fairly limited. The sweet red peppers are recommended. I'm not sure I'd drive out of my way to get to Sandy's, but if I were in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to drop in.

What a disappointment, again.. Having been a weekly regular of Sandy's Pizza since before '86, lately the quality has really been getting worse. Sad to say that I'm not sure if we'll be back. The menu hasn't changed since the business was sold, but the food quality has definitely suffered. On this visit (Tuesday night buffet), we had the buffet, which is pizza, stroms, spaghetti, breadsticks, salad, soft serve ice cream, and desert pizza. Every pizza had a form of veggie or peppers, with no cheese, pepperoni, or meat options. Had to ask the staff to make a kid friendly pizza (cheese, pepperoni, ham, etc). Took awhile after a staff member said there wasn't that much onion on one pizza, (seriously?) and they instead made a combo... Had to ask a second time to get a cheese (which was completely eaten before the previously made combo pizza)... Most of the ingredients seem to have changed, and the flavor has suffered. Cheese is different, as well as the strom sausage. The strom was cold, messy with hard bread, but the salad bar was clean this time, compared to last time. Not one person came around checking on guests, so expect to completely serve yourself. The place was really void of guests compared to the past, which used to be well worth the wait to get a table. Our last pizza ordered to go was unfit to eat, and was pitched away, so if we return, it will be awhile. Sad really... Great decor, but not nearly enough to make up for bad tasting food and lacking service...

We came here after a ball game. Everybody always raves about the pizza at Sandy's, so we thought we would try it out while in the are. They had a buffet. We had to request that they put a cheese pizza and a plain pepperoni pizza on the buffet as all the available pizzas were geared toward adults. They were happy to make it. They made one half and half . The pizza we requested was gone within 5 minutes because apparently we weren't the only people who wanted single topping pizzas. Our kids loved the smoothie machine but did not care for the pizza. The salad bar had lots of choices. The breadsticks were bland. My husband didn't care much for the Stromboli. I would return if we were in the area but would not make a special trip to this restaurant.

I think Sandy's has some of the best pizza south of Indy. I may be biased because it was the pizza I grew up on, but it really is delicious. The topping list isn't huge, but once you've had one with Stromboli meat and the best sweet red peppers you'll ever have, you won't be worried about other choices. It is a thinner crust, but they load up on the cheese and put plenty of herbs and toppings on it. The all you can eat buffets are a hard deal to beat and offer all you can eat pizza, strombolis, breadsticks, and salad bar for under $7, but are only offered Tuesday and Wednesday nights, unless you can handle all you can eat for lunch during the week and still be productive afterwards. The salad bar isn't anything impressive, but that's not really why you are going here anyway. The décor inside has been the same as far back as I can remember. The ceiling is covered in tin roof sheets and the wooden walls have a collection old timey decorations. There is a booth that is dedicated to the Blues Brothers movie, and the back room is coca cola themed. The kitchen is separated from the dining room by only a counter top so it feels pretty open and you can see what's going on back there. They are well equipped to host large parties, and even have separate rooms that you can reserve. The giant sized pizzas were always a popular choice at gatherings around the area, as it could easily feed 10-15 people. They have beer at a good price, but Bud Light and Amber Bock are your only choices. They also have Sprecher root beer on draft that is really good. While the pizza is great, the service leaves a lot to be desired. It's just been a little slow and not very friendly in my experience. You order at your table, but pay up front at the counter. The plates and cups are Styrofoam, and the utensils are all plastic ware. Save for the ball jars the beer comes in and the metal tray the pizza is on, everything is going in the trash. I'm pretty sure they deliver to almost all of Gibson County, and they're the only place I'd order from around the area. It does get pretty busy in the evenings, and it's hard to drive around the area without passing by a Sandy's delivery driver, so it's worth the stop by to see what it's all about.
