It was ok. I got the eggs Benedict and they were good, but nothing special. My husband for a breakfast special with pancakes and didn't enjoy his that much either. I didn't really enjoy the potato pancakes. Very greasy and not much flavor. Our server was very friendly and helpful even with the place being very full. All I all for that price I wouldn't go back.

My husband and I came here for the first time this week and we liked it a lot! We each got an omelet and they are huge! We were pleasantly surprised when we each got pancakes with our omelets because apparently anything ordered with eggs gets pancakes too. Lovely surprise! The service was good, and we also thought the price was good. We have only been there once, so not much experience but we'll be back!

Sometimes staffs make the difference. At our first visit, waitress was so nice that we decided to come again but this time we got a rude waiter who had a hard time in understanding that this restaurant had a free refill for coffee. Restaurant is amazing with wide range of pancakes and sandwiches. UPDATE: Overall this restaurant is great.

This is a chain but wayyyyyy better than another famous international pancake place. If you want an excellent pancake, come here. Their egg dishes (Benedict's, omelet's) are okay but nothing that I would crave. But for a sweet breakfast (pancakes, waffles, french toast) this is the place to go. I tried the Hawaiian pancake with tropical syrup (this lemon-orange marmalade-like syrup is freaking awesome!) This syrup alone warrants the 4 stars. We got water, coffee and orange juice to drink. The coffee is nice and strong but they do not have soy milk so if you are lactose intolerant bring your own non-dairy creamer. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and you can taste that it is (in a good way) not acidic. Bottom-line: coming back for Pancakes, tropical syrup and OJ!!

Mrs Mysterious and myself have been visiting here for about 10 years now and they continual to hold true on a few things. First, they are always busing during the weekend. Second, they have huge servings. And third, their bacon is the best that I've ever had in a restaurant. We have tried just about everything on the menu from the pancakes, to the omelettes, to normal bacon and eggs. You really can't go wrong with anything you order. A lot of times we will order an omelette and some pancakes and split the two meals so that we get some of each. Oh, and of course we get a few sides of bacon. I'm yet to ever finish the apple pancake, someday my friends...someday. Some unique things...they serve ice water when you sit down, it reminds me of my childhood. They also que you in to your seat, so you wait in line and when a seat opens up they take the next in line. Different than most places, but I kind of like it since you always know how long until you are going to get seated.

SO delicious!!!!! Yum! I always get blueberry pancakes and bacon! The kids all love to come here for brunch!

I adore breakfast food and they're right down the street from us. I always get pancakes of some sort, pecan, pumpkin, banana and bacon are all delicious. The side of bacon is quite good, but rather expensive. Almost $5 for 4 slices. Service is normally decent and fast, especially considering how busy they always are. If you're going on a weekend, get there early. There's always a big line!

Fair warning, if you come here on Saturday or Sunday morning, this place can get packed. Also, from 8:00 am - 1:00 PM, if your whole party isn't there, don't expected to be seated until they all arrive. This is one of my go to places when I don't feel like cooking my own pancakes. One of the nice things about the Original Pancake House is that they do offer gluten free pancakes, and there really isn't an up charge for them. They are some of the thickest pancakes that have found and the taste really isn't that bad. Too make sure that your pancakes are GF, they have a special plate. It looks like the regular plate, but there is black or blue edging around it. One of the things that I love/hate about this place is their bacon. Yes it is good and when you order a side of it you get 4 pieces, but expect to be charged $4.45 for it. Overall, this is a nice place to get some GF pancakes when you don't feel like cooking.

Hey, this place is A-OK in my book. I remember it being pricey when I took our family here a few months ago. Now, kids eat free I believe so the last time we went, it was very affordable. Our food has always been good maybe not gourmet breakfast but certainly better than Waffle House or IHOP. We will be coming here often. They move the line along and do a good job of waiting tables quickly without making you feel rushed. Sure the location could be bigger, but the fact that it's always packed should be a good indicator that this place is worth waiting for.

We have been regulars at the pancake house for several years now. I have to say it, they are missing the mark on there quality now. I do understand the economy has hit hard but don't sacrifice quality!! The veggie omelet has been the best till the last 4 times we've gone. The omelet was not done and the SAUCE you are really doing a disservice when you are cutting the quality of that marinara sauce, it's what makes the veggie omelet. I would rather you RAISE the price than CUT THE QUALITY! We will be rethinking our choice on where we go or stay home!

First time at The Original Pancake House today (and they all claim to be the original, how can we know which one is telling the truth??). Experience was great! To start, the staff was awesome. Host was pleasant while not overly chatty. Our server, Molly, was great! She was very pleasant, attentive, and had great recommendations. The food portions were huge and not withholding on quality. The bacon was thick and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were well seasoned and not too mushy or too done. The strawberry pancakes were fantastic, as well. Next time I'll have to try the Dutch Baby Pancakes or the ones smothered with Granny Smith apples. The only complaint would be the atmosphere. While not awful, it felt like a Perkins went out of business in the nineties and they just rolled in and took all the same decor. Obviously that's not a deterrent for going, but it's the only critique I could muster up. Will definitely return!

We have always had great service and great food. On the weekend the may be a bit of a wait to get in. It's not uncommon for the line to be out the door, but don't let that turn you away because they do move very quickly!

Stopped for breakfast simply because it was there and we needed something after a detour to the Fishers post office (we forgot to send the mail before we left from Cicero for vacation). There was almost no one in there so it was fairly fast. I got four pancakes and two eggs. Eggs were average for a restaurant, nothing special really. The pancakes, however, which usually a I find disappointing in restaurants, were splendid. One of the best restaurant pancakes I've had, and I've pretty much only enjoyed pancakes three or four places at restaurants because they are normally flavorless and badly cooked. These, however, lived up to the name of Pancake House.

Really good spot for breakfast. Omelette are 4 egg and HUGE. They are cooked awesomely and have plenty of fillings. My wife has been waiting for one of their apple pancakes since we moved down to Indy. This thing is huge. ( see my pic). Good stuff if you like apples, sweet and good. Prices are fair for the amount and quality of food. I'll take this place over IHOP anyday.

This place blew me away! St. Patty's Day and we were immediately seated. Food was ordered and then almost immediately delivered to our table. The food was displayed beautifully. I ordered the chocolate strawberry crepes and instantly knew I made the right decision. Then I tasted my friend's order of walnut cinnamon french toast, and I wish I had ordered that. Then GREEN pancakes were handed to the other people in our group, and I got so excited! I think any pick would end up being the best pick. I personally think they should let leprechauns work in the kitchen every day, but I'm prepared to go back even if they're not working their green magic. I see coconut pancakes, pumpkin pancakes, and eggs benedict in my near future.

Love the Original Pancake House I've been eating here since I was a kid and now I'm 29 and still eat here whenever I can. Dutch baby is always good! I order the bacon limp so it's chewy and good. Love the waffles, pancakes and really anything on the menu! Foods here got to go. Trying the Irish Brians omelet Corn beef!

Went to brunch on Fathers Day. The wait was a little bit long maybe because it was a holiday. Had videos playing that showed how some of their dishes were made which made the wait a little more bearable. I ended up getting the Dutch Baby. It was larger than I thought so be prepared if you order it but it was very good. Overall was a positive experience and the prices were reasonable.

I am very torn if i should give this place 4 or 3 stars. I'd like to say my rating is more like 3.5 stars. Mostly it's a preference thing. Firstly we were there on a very busy Sunday. All of the staff was so nice and efficient. We started out in a huge line that we got through quite fast. We got sat and the table was nice and clean. The server brought us a sample of their Apple Pancakes. They were delicious. I like pancakes and waffles just as much as the next guy but if I'm not going to go home and veg out on my couch right after I prefer a more savory egg based breakfast. I ended up ordering the Eggs Florentine and my friend ordered the bacon pancakes. His were delicious and my plate just lacked something. I was not a huge fan of the Hollandaise sauce and my muffin was not toasted. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and very good. I guess I just wasn't super impressed with the eggs but the everything else was superb and if you want some amazing pancakes you should definitely go here.

Overpriced food and very mediocre. How do you have a breakfast place without serving decent hashbrowns as well??

Nothing fancy about this place. Just another over-priced pancake house. Food was what to be expected - good but nothing too exciting. Food came out in loads of random trips. First bacon and eggs. Then my pancakes, then my sisters then my other sisters. It would have been nice to actually eat together. However, it didn't happen. Save your time and cook at home.

Went here on a snowy Saturday morning, two to three other tables. We ordered pancakes and a Dutch baby. The food took a long time, I would recommend that they tell you that the Dutch baby takes along time. It is totally worth the wait, food is very good. I would recommend coming here over the IHOP that's is right off the highway, take the extra couple minutes and come here.

This place is pretty good. You usually have to wait awhile to get inside and there is very limited seating. The interior needs to be redone. My glass had a chip in it last time I was there. The pancakes and egg dishes are good thought.

Firstly, know that I had very high hopes for a stellar Friday late brunch. Maybe a 3.5 star overall. It was 1:00ish. Immediately seated as there were only 3 other tables occupied. My immediate observation: when was the last time they dusted or snagged cobwebs off the ceiling? The tiles surrounding the ceiling ducts were covered w/ dust and webs. Is this what the kitchen looks like too? So, that took expectations down a couple notches. (come on - TOPH, aren't you better than this?) Fresh OJ and black decaf for starters while looking over the extensive menu. WE are the uninitiated. I was famished - so ordered the 4 egg corn beef hash omelet. Wifey requested the french toast. Seemed to take longer than it should have given that the place wasn't busy - I was going to chew on booth seat. Holy crap - someone should have warned me. Omelet portion is HUGE...AND it comes with pancakes. Unfortunately, omelets at TOPH are probably not what you're accustomed. Not folded and must be cooked in a wok. Hash was dispersed throughout the egg - unlike the cheese, which was a mysterious pool in the center. I was happier with my pancakes than the omelet - although I didn't eat again for 24 hours. If I did this again - I'd lean more to the egg whites, but would in fact probably not even order an omelet again. Crepes or pancakes methinks. My better half's selection of French Toast was rated as "freaking stellar". Not sure how that equates in stars. Let's go w/ 3.5 because the food deserved a cleaner ceiling - and I'm still wondering about kitchen cleanliness...

If this part of chain, where has it been all my life!!!? Absolute favorite Pancake place! And I've been to a bunch - KY, TN, CA, VA, FL, NC, SC, and now Indiana. You've got to try the Dutch Baby and anything else with the tropical (citrus) syrup! It is all fantastic. The Swedish Cakes are like supersized crepes - knock your socks off! Can't believe people wingeing about this or that or the wallpaper! These are not formulaic mass produced pancakes. These are melt in your mouth earth shaking. None of the spongy rubber you get at other places. If you get your pancake urge - this is where you'll beat the cravings.

I have heard about people ordering the fresh-squeezed orange juice. With my club special, I finally tried it which had pulp and I needed it to be more chilled. The business was accommodating in meeting my specific diet desires. I ate French toasts. Fresh-cut flowers sat on the table which I enjoyed the scent and their willingness to provide during this winter. The restaurant decor looked global. My only recommendation is that the waiters and waitresses be more interested in tending to the customers instead of standing near the kitchen talking in groups about 9 AM.

The service is good and the bathrooms are clean. The food is your standard american "how much can you fit in your gullet" fare. It attempts at looking classy and perhaps even european in a way, but the map from the 1600's wall paper just makes me uncomfortable. I mean, how can I enjoy my pancakes with the specter of colonialism looking at me. That said the food is over priced except for the weekday early morning specials. The coffee is however worth the 2.50.

Every time time I'm in town I make sure to stop by this place at least once! It's not the most fabulous breakfast place I've ever had in my life, but I would have to say that its decent and reasonably price- and that is the draw that keeps bringing me back. Usually I love the German Pancake (puffy pancake dusted with powered sugar and lemon-which you squeeze onto the pancake) with bananas and strawberries but today I ordered: -Banana Crapes: Delicious! Basically a crepe with bananas on top and inside. The inner filling tasted a lot like cream cheese (although it was something fancier-I'm sure). The crepe was drizzled with some type of a fruity sauce too (tasted marmalade-ish). The tartness of the drizzle was very complimentary to the sweetness of the creamy filling and bananas. Overall, I really enjoyed it but honestly by the time I worked half way through my second crepe I was a little overwhelmed with the sweetness/richness of the crepe. I tend to like things only slightly sweet though, so I think for the average diner, the sweetness would not be a problem! Service: Excellent. Fast, efficient. I needed some ketchup and tabasco (not for the crepes-haha- but for an omelette that someone gave me a piece of) and it was brought to me quickly. Overall: Love this place and would definitely go back again regularly!

I've been a fan of Original Pancake House for several years, having eaten at the original one in Portland, Oregon, numerous times. I've even been to this one a couple of times, but this last visit was one that would keep me from going back. Our waitress was not only surly for our entire visit, but when she made an error on our ticket (i.e. forgot to take down one of the orders), she tried to duck any responsibility, did not apologize, and when she delivered the missing order, set it down without saying a word. Now, I've worked as a waiter before, and I understand that you can have a hectic or stressful day. I had many myself. But I never tried to blame the patrons, or let my mood show through. The food was good, the service was awful. If I go back, I will specifically ask to not be seated at her table.

The food here is good, must be the same chain as the one on W 86th street in Indy. (menus are the same) Delicious and huge omelettes, I love the beef hash one. Service is good. This place is very expensive for a breakfast place, you are looking at getting out the door paying $12+ with an omelette and a drink. Pricey for breakfast, so will only go here occasionally.

Let's get this out of the way first. If you visit the Original Pancake House, order pancakes. Don't mess around with an omelette or crepes, just order what they're known for. The big cahuna here is the German Dutch Baby Pancake, a monstrous melt-in-your-mouth beauty covered in bananas and powdered sugar. I sometimes will get the apple pancake or the chocolate chip pancakes, but if this your first time visiting, don't leave a German Dutch Baby virgin. Waiters may advise that it takes a bit longer to cook, but go ahead and wait. It's worth it. The only downside here is that it's absolutely full to busting on weekends. If you arrive at 9:00 on a Saturday (especially with a fairly large party), be prepared to wait 30 or so minutes for a table. Still, this is a Indianapolis classic and great breakfast joint, so long as you're savvy about when you arrive.

Very Good gluten free pankakes, menu is pricey but they have specials that my waitress forgot to mention, gave me 5 huge strips of bacon with my sunrise special, way more than ill ever eat, I would eat here again I didn't get to try most of the yummy sounding things on the menu

A-OK. Breakfast food anyone? Good food, fast service but it can be a bit loud and the tables are situated pretty close together for my liking. Other than that no complaints. Pretty run of the mill as far as Original Pancake Houses are concerned. Go ahead especially if it's Sunday Brunch, I suggest it.

I am not from Fishers, but when I visited my family there, they took me to the pancake house. I have never been here, but i loved it. The dutch baby was really good and i never saw anything like that before. My personal fav are the eggs Michael. the mushroom sauce is yum and so are the potato pancakes. i visit fishers like every summer and i always make sure to stop by here!

This is hands down the best breakfast place in Indy. You can't go wrong with the apple pancake, you'll be eating it for breakfast for 2-3 days it's so big. We also love the bacon they serve, it's incredibly thick and flavorful. If you go on a weekend morning, you'll certainly have to wait. But there's a good reason, everybody wants to eat their food! On a side note, there is a cookbook out there, "More Super Secret Recipes" by Todd Wilbur, it has the recipes for both the Dutch and Apple Pancake. I just bought it and I'm hoping I can come close to the O.P.H. versions!

None of us were overly thrilled with this place. For starters the wait for breakfast was forever, and there is no place to sit and wait. Then the service was lacking, it must have took this woman 10 minutes or longer just to get to our table. The food was ok, but we mostly agreed that it was not worth the wait. I had the Apple pancake which was the most enormous and impossible to maneuver dish I have ever seen, and on top of the size it was too hot to eat and due to its density it stayed the same temperature for a long time. Once I did get to dive in, I quickly found the sauce entirely too sweet to eat more than a few bites. Not a good experience, but I always give places a second try. Maybe next time will be better

Amen to that brother! It's a nation-wide chain that doesn't give out its franchise tag or secret recipes lightly, so every single one of them is top quality. It's perfect for breakfast or brunch, especially since they're not open for dinner. If you're hungry and love breakfast food, this place is heaven! Ginormous dutch pancake (one huge, fluffy, custardy pastry) smothered in apple/cinnamon/sugar/syrup goodness and dubbed the Apple Pancake is my hands down favorite dish to order from any restaurant anywhere in the country. But don't let that shy you away from the omelettes. I believe they include some pancake batter and bake these monsters, because they're light, fluffy, volumous and oh so tasty. Never, ever burnt or rubbery, and they contain simple goodness (my favorite being the corned beef hash and cheddar cheese!) You will not be disappointed, my friend. Oh no, you will not be disappointed.

Two words...Dutch Baby. If you want to break out of the standard breakfast routine, why not try a Dutch Baby? It's like an Elephant Ear, puffed up, with powered sugar, and lemon. Mmmmmmm good. They also include syrup, but I prefer it without (just me). The promptness of the service and quality of the food was excellent. I was there about 9am local time so it wasn't too busy. I grew up going to the Walker Bros Original Pancake House in north suburban Chicago, and had been to the Original Pancake House that was in downtown Indianapolis for a few years, so when I heard one was opening in Fishers I was really looking forward to it. It's been open for a few years now, and I've been there several times, and my overall assessment is that it's not nearly as good as Walkers. There's always a long wait unless you go way off-peak, the prices are very high for breakfast food, and service is rushed and inattentive. Very disappointing. The food is good, although not as good as the others I've been to, and not worth waiting an hour for or paying a premium price for. My biggest gripe, though, is that the seafood crepes are full of surimi (fake crab), which is really gross when cooked. Give me a nice whitefish in a seafood crepe if you can't give me the real thing, please. Don't try to fake me out. It doesn't work.

i ordered an omlette which is a little different than your average omlette; baked in an oven it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. the pancakes were AMAZING! seriously don't come here and order anything else. i regret ordering the omlette after eating the pancakes. service wasn't the best--a little slow.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I've tried just about everything on the menu. The best items are the French toast, the blue berry waffles/pancakes, and the bacon. I do admit the jam type sauces they put on the crepes and the apple pancakes are too sweet for my taste and if you go at peak times expect a wait. I've found going after 1pm on weekends and getting any of the afore mentioned items has always made it an experiece unrivaled in the area.

You might think a pancakes would be in order at the Pancake House, and for many it is. For me, I go there for the best omelettes around. Although the food is great, the Pancake House needs to give customers more options. Their 4 egg omelettes with two toppings are pushing $10. I can only eat about half of that and leftover omelette is not very good. Although the omelettes come with pancakes, Pancake House charges you a couple of dollars to substitute their crispy thin potato pancakes for regular pancakes. Because I cannot eat syrup, breakfast costs me $12 and on a teachers budget, it keeps me from enjoying as much as I would like to. Give your customers size and substitution options, and they will come.

It's not local, but it is tasty, reliable and not greasy. I am a fan of the bacon waffle. Bacon baked right into the waffle? What's not to love!
(4)Justin S.
Good pancake house. Pecan pancakes where yummy and egg where cooked right. Wife and kids loved it even more then me. I would recommend.

(2)Julie N.

Good cherry crepes....mediocre pancakes. Decent omelets. Slow service...dirty table.. kind of pricey The pancake place across the water is so much better.
(3)Brandon C.

Service could improve... BUT BANANA PANCAKES ARE AWESOME. Best pancakes i've had in almost 27 years of me on the Earth. Gooooooo. You won't regret it.

Always busy, always good. OJ is fresh squeezed. Love the chocolate chip pancakes. Long wait on weekends. Whole party has to be in attendance to be seated.

Disclaimer: I love pancakes...and other yummy breakfast confections. Admittedly, I didn't have the full dining experience here (I was in a hurry), but the food was def. good enough to make me want to go back.

Can I get a "Hell yeah!" for pancakes???
(4)Matthew S.
Fast friendly service. Coffee cup never went dry. Free pancakes for kids is a nice bonus here.Be sure to try the blueberry pancakes!
(4)Kacy M.

(3)Isaac C.
(5)Kyle H.
Awesome breakfast food. The best that i've ever had!!
(5)Anthony I.
