The fare and service are both fairly standard, but still above average, especially for a locally-owned establishment. The bread that is brought out before the meals might be the best part of Sahm's, so ask for more if you finish. I never have had a bad experience with any of the main courses. Order the chicken and/or shrimp cigars; they're flavorful and one of the best items on the menu.

I love Sahms. The food is great the staff is accomidating and the atmosphere is wonderful. It's very nice and laid back restaurant, so there isn't alot of chaos going on. I highly recommend their Shrimp Cigars! They are phenominal, as well as their meatloaf. There sandwhich selection is massive, and can meet any craving that you have! Great place!

You can't go wrong with Sahm's. Compared to like restaurants, it definitely earns its 4-star rating. Great place for a sandwich or salad. The veggie melt is great. I also like that you can pick from more than 15 sides to accompany your sandwich. It does tend to attract an older crowd, so if that bothers you for whatever reason, then this isn't your place. The menu also includes other entrees like fish, stir fry, steak or meatloaf. Salads come with a slice of their amazing coffee cake. You can purchase a whole coffee cake in the bar.

Sahm's is a local landmark. For many years they have served up excellent food with good service. They have a varied menu of "American" cuisine. The prices aren't cheap, but are reasonable, and probably a bargain for the quality. The service is always friendly and reasonably prompt. You can take your whole family. I went recently and was very disappointed to learn that they no longer serve their mashed cauliflower. Believe it or not, this dish is absolutely delicious and is an excellent low-carb substitute for mashed potatoes. There are so few interesting low-carb side dishes available anywhere and I will sorely miss this.

When my mother and brother come to town, we always visit Sahm's! Some of our favorites are the buffalo wings, chili, and various burgers (my mom tries a new one each time). The atmosphere is pleasant, with roomy booths and enough lighting to see your menu and food. Depending on the time of day, you may have to wait for seating or have the place to yourself. I enjoy going in the early afternoon when most of the lunch crowd has already left. Only one small gripe--sometimes the chili is not heated up enough. But that's an easy fix, so not much of a bother. Love these local family owned restaurants!

Very happy with Sahm's. It was somewhere nice that I could take my mom and my aunt from out of town. I see a lot of people are complaining about the dark atmosphere... but I'm not totally sure why. Yeah, it was dark but plenty of light was provided to both enjoy the company with me and also my dinner. The service was great. Not much of a wait for our meals even though they were pretty busy at the time. I had the Smoking Goose melt with fries. Delicious sandwich and the fries were tasty! There's nothing extraordinary about the place. It's just a great restaurant to visit for good food and a pleasant atmosphere.

We've ordered take out from Sahm's several times and it's always been yummy. Saturday night I was beat and wanted a low key place for a burger and drink. I've always loved their burgers, so we dined in for the first time. We opted for the bar area, which was dimly lit and quiet which is exactly what I wanted. Our drink orders were taken immediately. They seem to have a decent selection of beer on tap and a small selection of mixed drinks. The Pineapple Express was delicious, if a bit small for the price, $7. The house made pineapple vodka was excellent. It did seem to take a while to get our food even though there were only 5 people total in the bar. BUT, my burger as usual was fabulous. The fries are to die for, similar to Penn Station but better. My husband's chicken sandwich had two chicken breast, which is unheard of. We devoured every last bite. With my drink and hubby's beer, everything came to $35 including tip. Not bad, fairly comparable to other places nearby. Service was decent considering we sat in the bar. Still my favorite burger in Fishers!

Everything I have had here is great. If you get one of their house specialties, you get bread, entree, and two sides. It's tons of great food. Their fried cauliflower is one of my favorites. Everything is made fresh. They even make their own bread. Prices are very good. The coffee cake makes a great dessert.

I used to love Sahms but I'm not sure what type of customers they want anymore. (Would have been 5 start easy when it was where CVS is now.) Now it's like a partial family feel with a modern upper class look but a 70's / ghetto rap music selection. Part of the time things just either seem rushed (like customers are bothering the staff) or maybe it's being ran by teens? Just really odd. I went in there was a several families with their young kids. You could tell the sexual music playing was ticking off one couple and another family was rolling their eyes. Several older groups were in their and maybe a few other middle aged people... It used to be a more family type of restaurant feel with the bar in a separate area at their other place. Now a half wall devides the two areas and i guess maybe the bar is their main focus now but even at that I'm still confused? The food is still pretty awesome. Big portions, mostly homemade fresh stuff. The one in pendleton seems a bit more organized and put together but the food at this location is better... Just really weird any more...

You can't go wrong with their cheeseburger or breaded tenderloin sandwich. The fries sometime are way too salty. The service is poor and the quality of the food is inconsistent. The last salad I had could have been mistaken for something sold at Denny's.

On a fairly busy Thursday night we were seated quickly. Our friendly server greeted us soon and took our drink order. The atmosphere was upbeat and the place is clean ! We had heard good things about Sahms from friends and we're hungry and exited to give it a try. A quick glance at tables on the way to ours we noticed a big variety of tasty looking dishes. We both settled in on the NY strip Pittsburgh style, served on a sizzling platter . Both our steaks were cooked perfect and tasty. You get two sides and a small loaf of delicious brown bread was served with my soup and the Mrs salad. You have to try the onion rings, thin and crispy the were great. We had an over all good experience at this location will be dining here again!

A sign at the front door during times when you don't have a host saying, "please be seated" or "seat yourself" would come in really handy. Peaked in the almost empty bar to see if my mom and I could seat ourselves and having the server who was rolling silver at the opposite end just barely acknowledge that I even standing there was also not welcoming. Actually walking over and talking to us would have been a much better first impression. But was just told "yes." Had to grab our own silverware and menus and found a seat. Food was good. Server was below average. Made classic service mistakes, like NEVER refilling my water and dropping then check before offering anything else. I was going to get a piece of coffee cake, but guess not since he decided we were done and needed our bill. And maybe the broom that was left in the center of the dining room (at the next table and the whole of our visit) was for us to clean up after ourselves, sorry we didn't do the dishes.

We kept hearing good things about Sahm's from coworkers, so my husband and I decided to try out their Northside Nights two for $40 menu, which included an appetizer to share, two salads, two entrees, and a dessert to share. We probably should have known what we were in for when we walked in and noticed we were the only people under 75 in the restaurant. The food was okay. Stuffed mushroom caps as our appetizer tasted good, but presentation was really lacking. Salads were pretty standard stuff. The entrees were what disappointed us. Most of our plates were filled with steamed baby carrots, which tasted just like you'd expect steamed baby carrots to taste. My fried shrimp was pretty good, but with only four pieces, it really made it clear that those carrots were there to take up space. My husband had filet medallions that he said were average tasting, but cooked well, at least. The only great part was the peanut butter pie at the end. That was awesome. Overall, the food quality reminded me of a cafeteria, like MCL. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Ambience was nice--dim lighting, separate bar, plenty of room and privacy between tables. Really large menu... But I don't know that that's necessarily an asset. That may be why a lot of the food tasted like it had been pulled from the freezer. I doubt we will be back.

Went to Sahms during the Northside Nights promotion. The inside of the restaurant was very nice. House made bread accompanied our salads and it was delicious. My wife had the salmon and I had filet tournedos. We were both very impressed with the meal and service. We will definitely be back.

Such a great place to unwind after a long work week. I prefer to sit in the bar area as they have t.v.'s and a more relaxing atmosphere. The food and drink selections are on point. I would recommend the Breaded Tenderloin, I will say it now, best in the state of Indiana. I've had over 50+ tenderloins at local restaurants and they surpass them all. Great place, great food and the Tollhouse Pie is to die for. Enjoy!

In a nutshell, we ate because we were hungry and because we had a gift certificate. That was our only reason for being here. I was semi-excited to come because I know Sahm's is local and they have several locations in the city so they must be doing something right? WRONG. Their menu is big and expansive and they have a good selection of local beers and a fully stocked bar. Location is in a strip mall and the inside decor is nicely done, however, I still don't understand why they tore down their beautiful old building on the corner and put up a CVS. I ran by their old location many names and the air always smelled so sweet, like yeast rolls baking. Well I don't think they even have rolls, or perhaps it was the coffee cake I smelled. Apparently that is what they're known for. I had the Clint Eastwood Burger which had bacon, bbq sauce and fried onions on it. It seriously tasted like they covered it with bacon bits, which psstt don't actually contain bacon! and possibly the french fried onions that come from a can. It had little flavor. My husbands pork tenderloin wasn't that great, but he ate it all because he was starving. The service was fine, expect we sat in a booth and on the wooden part above my head, servers kept dropping stuff there, pitchers of ice tea, stacks of menus. I was sitting in the line of fire waiting for a stack of menus or a pitcher of liquid to fall on my head. We ate early because we had a party to go to, around 6:30pm, and were the youngest people in there by about 30 years. Yeah, early times equals lots of old people. I've been to plenty of family style restaurants with sprawling menus before, when I was a kid, but the difference was is that the places I went to way back when actually had food that tasted good. When we left around 7:15 the bar was hopping. Next door a new placed opened and I wonder what will happen to this location now. I don't think we will be back. Maybe I'll try the Roost sometime, I hear it's good for breakfast but breakfast seems to be a pretty tough meal to mess up.

My guy stops in for dine and dash.....not as elegant at this newer location, large waste of space in the waiting area_decent bar for take out orders. We enjoy the service and if consistency was at 100%, I'd give it 5 stars!

Sahm's is one of my favorite restaurants in Fishers. They have specials every evening and the prices are great. They just created a new menu with a wider variety of burgers and appetizers. Any time you go to Sahm's, you know that you will get a great, fresh meal at a fair price.
(5)
Jami G.
I too had heard of and seen Sahm's for some time before I finally had a chance to eat there. Now, in the last year we've probably been there 6 times and we're heading there again tonight. The service is great, the food is wonderful and whether you are with a group of just the two of you, you feel like you are special. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. I recommend the ribs, the reuben (which I get without bread since I'm a GF'er) and the baked potato. My family highly recommends the tenderloin and they ALWAYS get the breaded mushrooms. The waiters have real pizazz and you won't go away hungry from Sahm's. Give it a try and you may find it becomes your regular place.

I don't get the locals fascination with this place. The food is fine, but just only fine. It's a typical, family owned American restaurant. There are many more interesting places to eat around town and there isn't much at Sahm's that you can't make at home. I guess maybe the popularity is in the Midwest comfort food; who knows? On the plus side, there are a lot of menu options, so you can bring the whole family and they're bound to find something they'll like. Sahm's makes pretty good box lunches if you need something for an event.

Sahm's remains an old reliable ... while some places are touting their "Nouveau Indiana" cuisine, you can count on Sahm's to crank out well-executed classics. Their frying technique is superb, delivering a light but crisp coating around a moist morsel ... and if that morsel happens to be a mushroom dipped in horseradish sauce, then lucky you! My side of breaded mushrooms could be a meal all on their own. My husband's surf and turf (two petite filets cooked as he requested, topped with a bearnaise sauce with big lumps of real crab, and four fried shrimp) along with a salad, veg and buttery brown bread ... was a steal at $17! Service is friendly and attentive, drinks were never less than half full. Our waitress even asked if we wanted cups of water or iced tea "to go" when she brought boxes for our leftovers. Sahm's quietly proves why they've remained in business while other flashier places come and go.

Lindy E.
For excellent breaded IN tenderloin, this is the place. And the fried mushrooms with horseradish sauce are extremely addictive. THey've relocated across the street (sold out to pharmacy wars) so I haven't been to the new location. Hope they got rid of the smoking in the bar. That was really obnoxious.

Chuck C.
WHAT THE WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! Where did Sahm's go? It gone and their are building a CVS where Sahm's was!! I see a new Sahm's pub across the street, but it's not THE SAHM'S MY FAMILY HAS BEEN GOING TO FOR THE PAST 17 YEARS! Good by old friend!

Food is decent American fare. Rarely have had an issue with the food. Clam chowder is exceptional. Turkey Reubens very good. Warning: The owner/manager and his sister both work in the bar area and they are about as personality-free as you can get, and sometimes brain dead and inattentive. Stay out of the bar area if you want good service.

I got the tenderloin, and I'm not saying it wasn't good, but it wasn't my style. Seemed a bit over-breaded. Service was solid, though.

When my parents moved to Fishers for a year, this was our go to restaurant. Everyone in my family always could find something to eat! I loved their sandwiches, but my favorite thing was their onion rings. So lightly fried and thinly sliced. YUM! If I ever make it back to Fishers I'll be there!

Popped in the bar section around 8:00 on Tuesday night. It was dead. There were only a couple of people at the bar. The lighting was dark, in not so much of a romantic way as a trying to save money on the electric bill way. They had a few TV's with different games playing. The service was okay. The bar is smaller than the Sahm's location on 65th St., but the food and beer selection is almost identical.

Nothing too exciting but it's locally owned, the menu is large with something for everyone, prices are reasonable for the big portions & food is good. A place in Fishers to head to when you're too tired to cook.

I've heard of Sahm's Restaurant from a number of people and haven't ever taken the opportunity to drive to the far north side from the south side and give it a try. Yesterday I was up in Fisher's for an appointment and the client recommended we head to Sahm's. I thought that was a great idea. As I was reviewing the menu my client said if you're the type of person who has to try the pork tenderloin sandwich everywhere you go because you're looking for the best in Indiana, it's what I should order. So, I did. The sandwich also came with my choice of side item, which I hadn't thought about. I was originally going to go with the seasoned fries but then noticed they had breaded and fried mushrooms. Everything came out and didn't disappoint in the slightest. The tenderloin was thicker than most and the breading was a very light and flaky crust that was just slightly salted. The bun/roll it came on tasted it like it was fresh out of the oven and was super soft and delicious as well. The breaded mushrooms matched with the sandwich very well. They came with a side of creamy horseradish deeping sauce that was a perfect complement. My only regret is that I would have loved to have spread the horseradish onto the tenderloin sandwich, but the bun already had mayonnaise on it, so that would have been too much. There was much to be said about the coffee cake, but I was too full to enjoy any for myself, so I'll have to make that wait until next time. And there will be a next time, Oh yes! There will be a next time!

I came here on a friday lunch break with co-workers. We had intended on going to the 96th st location, but my friend only knew of this location. The food was good. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but what options there were, are good. Really, i am only giving it 3 stars for the lack of vegetarian choices and kind of a stupid reason. Again, the food was pretty good. When we got there, there was a wait. It happens. No big deal. But...the WHOLE restaurant was filled with the retiree crowd. It's stupid because..why should that matter? To be honest, it's just no fun to be the only people in the restaurant under the age of 40. you have to watch your mouth and there's just that hum of a different generation of people. Try Sahm's. Just know that this particular location is very popular with the older crowd. (if anyone needs me, i'll be hiding from the wrath of the over 60 crowd)

The atmosphere was really great! I was impressed! We had a Repass there a party of thirty and the chef did the party a la carte. I had the stuffed mushrooms they were the best I've had in a long time. The mac- and cheese was satisfactory,Needed some more flavor.I had the Fried chicken salad as well, The chicken was cold, but I appreciated that they were hand breaded; and the salad and tomatoes were not fresh . I'd definitely go back again next time I'm in the area , but i would order something different.

Good food and drink selection. Always a nice, quiet atmosphere with good service. Pricing is a bit high, but no unreasonable.
