India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.
Indian food has gained reputation all over the world especially in the United States. You can find many places serving the appetizing Indian food across all major cities in the US. India is a diverse country with different food culture originated from different parts of the country. While the Northern region boasts tandoori dishes and korma offering royal taste, the Western Ghats offers sea foods that is made in naturally sweet tender coconut milk. The South Indian food servers a quality of different dishes made from rice accompanied with spicy chutneys, curries and famous sambhar. Also, the Indian sweets are a delight to relish. If you ever want to have a burst of sugar syrup in mouth, don't forget to try few Bengali Sweets. Be it spicy, tangy, or sweet flavor, you can find everything in the Indian cuisine. Be assured that the melody of spices will surely bring delight to you.

Came for the lunch buffet today and noticed some changes - unfortunately not for the good. Most noticeably, the clientele changed from mostly Indian to 100% non-Indian. Could it be just an unusual day? I didn't spot a single native among the 8 or so tables that were occupied, which brings me to the second change: weekend lunch has gone from "need to wait in line" to "only 1/3 full". OK, it was a rainy day, but I doubt that was the only reason, which brings me to the next sad change: the food. The tandoori chicken in particular was barely flavorful. I tried 4 pieces, spread out over time. Sadly they were all bland. Not all is lost. The staff is still friendly, the goat curry that keeps me coming back is still good, and they still bring fresh hot naan to your table (no dosa, but I didn't care for it anyway). However, the shortcomings mean they've lost their edge to other Indian restaurants in the area. I've liked this place for years and hope my next visit will see a return to its better days (minus the long lines :)).

Went here for dinner and had the aloo gobhi while my husband had the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan bread. Both were very delicious, even though they made our dishes have zero spice when we both ordered them spicy... However, I'm not giving them more stars because the service really sucks. Everyone who works there is very awkward and silent. Every time I smiled and said thank you for something, I was met with an awkward stare and no response, being completely ignored. They also kept creepily watching people from a distance even though they never came over or said a word... Extremely awkward experience. Food was still good though.

My boss, a native of Mumbai, invited me here for my last day at work, saying it is " authentic". I like the India Palace and the Taj, but this was, like, WOW! I usually don't know what I'm eating, and don't really care. Something I think was called Mattar Paneer was amazing, and the Chicken Tiki Masala was smooth and buttery. The Tandoori Chicken was not bitter like some places, and the various grain and lentil products seemed to have a fragrant spicing to them. I'm really impressed with the lunch buffet. Large selection including vegetarian entries, . I only missed the Curried Goat (it's an acquired taste). Look hard -- its easy to miss behind the Aqua Water Treatment Store, but you will be well rewarded for your efforts.

If you are eating Indian anywhere else in the city, you are doing it wrong. The spices stand out here and make everything else seem bland. The decor is warm and rich unlike the thrown together remnants of failed restaurants other Indian places have going on. They have a great selection for vegans, so I go home full and happy.

I LOVE India Sizzling. I moved here from Chicago after spending some time living in India last year and thought I would be hard pressed to find great Indian food in such a suburban locale. Boy, was I wrong. There are no bad choices to be made, from the cool salad bar to the wide variety on the ever changing lunch buffet to the wonderful menu choices at dinner. All your favorite tikkas, biranys, nan breads, dosas and other South Indian favorites are there in abundance. The only bad choice you can make is to show up on Monday when they're closed. I crave this place and visit 1-2 times a week. Don't miss out!

As good as it gets in central indiana. I have been on many occasions for the lunch buffet and this is mostly a good exchange of what ends up being $12.00 for unlimited very good food and service. My servers have always been attentive with the water and bread. One time, my stomach was upset but I still went to the lunch buffet thinking that it would subside after I had eaten a bit. I did not, and after a few bites I needed to leave for how uncomfortable I felt. I explained the situation to the manager and he insisted that I leave with a to go box full of food and fresh nan bread. I have ordered the dosa and veg biryani as a la cart entrees and they were excellent. Dosa was crisp and full of fresh ingredients while the biryani was HOT in the best of ways.
(4)Sam P.
I've only tasted the lunch buffet, but the selection was too limited and what I missed was lack of Nan! Other dishes were so so in that it did not differentiate from other Indian restaurants near by. BTW,, they charge "weekend" buffet price for Friday lunch hours, not the normal lunch price. What a surprise !

SERVICE SUCKS. We've gotten the wrong carry out food the last three times after it takes them an hour to make. I also had my credit card number stolen shortly after going here. We get carry out regularly. The staff is hit or miss when you eat in. One server brought me a spiced naan when I ordered butter naan and said "here you'll like this better". There are often flies and a filthy carpet. After them getting our order wrong this time we will not be returning.

This is the best Indian Food I've ever had at a restaurant! I've been to Indian places in Chicago, NYC and several cities but India Sizzling trumps them all. They specialize in South Indian cuisine yet their North Indian dishes are amazingly tasty too. The fact that mostly Indians eat here evinces India Sizzling's authenticity.

My favorite go to indian place in the midwest. First of all let me start off by saying for the uninitiated that there are broadly 2 kinds of indian cuisine ie. north and south; that are available in the multiple restaurants in the US. Usually, restaurants specialize in one of them and a few do try to do both, but very few can pull it off the way india sizzling manages to. The lunch buffet over here is nothing short of awesome which becomes quite evident when you have to wait in long lines to get a spot to eat. I have had dinner over here a couple of times and done take-out multiple times and no matter what i have had, its always been good. I am a regular over here for the lunch buffet and have yet to find a place in the midwest that is so well rounded in all their dishes. My only complaint from them used to be their service which was quite lacking in the past. however, that issue has been resolved in my opinion and I feel very comfortable in returning here again and again

In a sentence: Take it from this Indian girl from New Jersey, originally from London, this is the real deal. As far as good Indian food goes, this place is fantastic. Their food is amazingly tasty and they even feature some dishes which are remarkably "home-like" (as in, what I would expect to get at home if my own mother--who is an amazing cook--were serving). Quite honestly, I usually go for the buffet and I am always thrilled. Their Chicken Chettinad is amazingly my mom's Chicken Curry (that is to say, it's so, so good). It's also one of the few curry dishes they offer without cream (or much of it). I love their ponghal (for Gujurati people, this takes like kadi and bhaath, already mixed). Their food is well spiced, delicious, and never fails to make me happy. I have taken many people here, including my relatives from the UK who are used to fantastic Indian food. They have all been very pleased. Try it!

Perfect grilled chicken, with great flavor. Wonderful and healthy. Great rice pudding at the end. I only wish it was closer...

MY FAVORITE INDIAN RESTAURANT I always eat at the lunch buffet because it is the best deal for the price. My 2 favorite items on the buffet are the palak paneer (Indian cheese with spinach), and the paneer marsala (Indian cheese in a delicious marsala sauce). Another good thing is that they bring freshly baked naan (Indian flatbread) to your table over the course of your meal. I like most of the food on the buffet, and all you can eat for around $9.00 a person is a very fair price.
(5)Stephen M.
Great Indian food locally! Great naan! Order a variety, and order often! As good as the best Indian food restaurants I've been to in North America. Doesn't hit the "gold standard", but that requires a 17-hour flight across 12 time zones! Buffet has a wide selection and each dish properly reflects characteristics of its type. Lots of choices for naan, and it's delicious! If you like Indian food and live locally, this is your spot. I'm not a big tandoori fan, but the paneer and marsala are excellent.

Holy cow! Can I say cow at a Indian restaurant ? This place is fantastic !!! Gotta love a place where 8 of 11 tables seated were Indian people. Started with some flat cracker with 3 different sauces including tamarind, mint and the onion ketchup concoction. All 3 where yummy Tried the lamb vindaloo and was not disappointed. Wow! Flavorful, spicy and very very good. Co worker had lamb chops and said it was also very very good. Leaving fishers on Thursday and will try to come back and try something else

I used to be a fan, but the last few times I've been in, each experience is worse than the last. I arrived at 1 pm for the lunch buffet, had to wait 10 minutes to have a server clean one of the many empty but dirty tables before I could be seated. Once seated, I went to the buffet to start with some side items and a little soup. However, I had no silverware or napkin on my table. I sat at the table and it took several minutes to get someone's attention before I could request these, and another 3 minutes before they brought them to me. At that time, I also had to ask for a glass of water to be brought to me. When I finished my soup, I went back to the buffet to discover that half their entree dishes were empty. So I made a plate with what was leftover. The food was tasty, but I regretted that I couldn't try some of the items that were no longer available, especially the palak paneer. And was naan brought to the table? Of course not. When my water glass was empty, I had to go up to the table along the wall to refill it myself from the pitcher. Not once did someone stop by my table to ask if everything was ok, not even when I sat there for several minutes with a finished plate waiting for a check. I had to wave over a server to ask for my check. After waiting another 5 minutes, I finally just left $10 on the table and left. The meal I had (no naan, half the buffet out of food) was in no way worth the $10. I will not be back. I'd rather drive farther to Carmel for Amber Indian where the service is always excellent and I have never seen food run out in the middle of service.

Wow, just went to the Lunch buffet for the first time today. Have eaten here before in the evening, ordering from the menu. The Lunch Buffet was GREAT! Had everything you could want on the buffet, including pickle and yogurt, along with 4 different desserts . So many options to choose from. Dosas and Naan are included for no additional cost. Everything was so fresh and delicious! Was the best buffet and best restaurant, Indian or otherwise that we have found in the area. Great Service! Great place to eat on a Saturday afternoon! Great Price! Great vegetarian dishes!
(5)Jami G.
This is a great place to have excellent Indian food. A beautiful room is draped with cloth and feels very soft and peaceful. The music is good as well. The wait staff is very helpful with selecting dishes if you are not familiar or cannot recall the name of that dish you love. Definitely do not miss the Crispy Spinach - it melts in your mouth! Service can be a little slow if they are busy but the food is worth the wait. Just delicious!

THE BEST Indian Food, BAR NONE. Lunch Buffet is the BEST in the STATE OF INDIANA. LIke one of the reviewer mentioned, this restaurant does extremely good job in offering Northern and Southern Indian food. Go there during lunch buffet hour. Just observe how many natives eat there. There are almost 10 Indian restaurants in 2-3 mile radius, but you'll not see that many Indians (No not american native indians - the REAL Indians from INDIA) eat there. The WORST thing about this place, is they CLOSE ON MONDAY !!! Damn it you need to open for business on MONDAY TOO !!!!!! (But you knew many asian places close on Mondays right?)
(5)Mike L.
After moving from a university town with multiple good Indian eateries, we've been craving cuisine from the subcontinent. This is the closest to the new house and we had a great meal. Service was attentive and the menu selection was good. I'll have to ask for a higher heat next time to really satisfy the craving. Don't think it will be too long before we're headed back!
(4)Guru P.
Best Indian restaurant in Indy hands down and I am an Indian. Don't even mess around anywhere else. Also, Basil (the owner) has fantastic catering for your big parties.
(5)Ann D.
Worst customer service. I have visited 3 times and each time the owners / waiters behave in a very disrespectful manner. This is something not expected when we plan to go out for a good eating experience. Though the food is relatively good, but the bitter experiences with the staff and owners leaves a bad taste forever. For my Indian friends and other people who love Indian cuisine, I would suggest to have a to-go rather than eat at that restaurant. And if you really like Indian food try Devon Street in Chicago.

We have been going here frequently for several years. It is interesting that my wife, daugher, son-in-law and myself all consider this one of our favorite restarunts. They have a lunch buffet which is great. We have not been here for dinner so can't comment on that meal. We usually go there for the Sunday buffet {about $10.00} but I think the buffet is offered 7 days a week. Drinks are not included in the buffet price. Very nice decor and you usually get seated, and your drink orders quickly. Often very busy and may be awhile to get your drink glass refilled {important with spicy food and they have some}. Also, often a long wait to get your bill but not a big deal as you can go up to the counter to get your bill. The buffet has a large variey of selection including several vegetarian. They bring you a basket of naan bread and usually a thin crepe type bread item. Although often very busy, they do a good job of keeping the buffet replenished. They have some items which are always on the buffet but several items are rotated so always great variety. What I enjoy the most about this restaurant is the varing contrasts of the different flavors--chicken, fish, vegetarian {eggplant...okra..spinich } spicey, hot, slighy sweet. And with the dipping sauces....onion chutney, tamarind, coconut chutney, and others} you can flavor the food to your taste. We also enjoy there desert selections which usaully number 2-3 selections. Bottom line, we have been here numerous times and always find the food great.

Been here 3 times but won't go back because restroom was filthy. My husband and I both went to restroom and came back both noticing how nasty the facilities are. Horrifying.

Food was great and they have great decor. Coming from living in Chicago where there are some amazing india restaurants I was a little thrown off by the strip mall location. I'm used to a great little restaurant like this hidden in a corner or along the street with great outdoor seating. I do have to say the service was spectacular, but to note we were the only couple there because Indy folks are scared to death to venture out during Snowmagedan (3"to5"). But to our delight with our Indy natives/neighbors boarded up in their homes for hybernation for the winter we were able to enjoy some delightful service along with some amazing recommendations. It was almost like I had my own little Yelp Elite private party. Unfortunately I didn't have my Elite Yelp lunch box to put our leftovers in.....Hint...Hint. Would encourage anyone new or seasoned to India cuisine to check this gem out. Compliments of El Conquistador

Their food is delicious! It's one of the few restaurants I've had regular lassi (sweetened) without the usual mango flavor (although just as delicious). Try their: Butter Chicken, Mattar Paneer, and Rice Pilaf. Nice ambiance as well; best in Indy
(4)Angela E.
Chili mushrooms are the best!
(5)Kelly K.
Absolutely love this place! They have more choices on the buffet than you will find anywhere and each dish is labeled and described! I have eaten there several times now and the food is remarkable and consistently delicious. Undoubtedly the best Indian food I have had in this state.
(5)Foodie G.
I am from South India and recently discovered this place. I love their buffet with chicken briyani(could be spicier as it did 3 weeks ago-YUM!), chicken in gravy and the goat(available sometimes) are good too. The naan comes to your table that is out of this world-hot,fluffy and buttery. Crispy dosa is good, and try the red chutney from the salad bar to dip. They have plenty of dishes for both veg and non-veg. I saw a lot of white folks really enjoying the food. Desserts are usually carrot halwa, kheer and gulab jamoon. Service was good offering water and checking with the patrons. So far this is my fav place for Indian food.
(5)Jen M.
Great food. The Nilgri Korma with chicken was very good. The onion garlic naan was delicious. I was disappointed to hear they were out of mango chutney when we were there. Service was attentive... Dare I say a bit too over zealous at times. They tried to take our plates multiple times while we were still eating. Nice interior decor. A pleasant surprise for Fishers.
(4)Kim E.
As someone who travels to India regularly and knows the food intimately I can say with certainty this is authentic. It's not only delicious for those in the know it's a great place for the novice. My husband is scared of everything and adores the chicken tikka. For me, the lamb saag is my go to meal. I ask for medium and it is a true medium. Their papadum is actually better than any I've had in India because the condiments are so explosively flavorful. We had the fried spinach leaves last time as a starter; they seemed bland at first but became addictive by the time we finished every single leaf. I've seen some comment the service is slow but I haven't experienced that at all. I'm extremely pleased with the restaurant and will continue to be a loyal patron.
(5)Sojourner E.
Service is good at the moment. [It has varied a lot in the five years I have been going there.] Food was also very good.
(4)Christie M.
My parents and I plus the lil monster went to have a late lunch today. It was pretty good. My parents normally not really a fan but they enjoyed the food here a lot. I love the fresh hot nan and dosa that was brought to us. YUM! My lil monster (2 yr old) loved it the most. I think I tried everything that was there but the desserts. I'm not really into that kind of dessert. Anyways, I enjoyed everything as well but sadly my memory is sucking right now and can't remember the name of the fave. :( It was some kind of chicken curry thing. The Lamb curry was good as well but didn't seem as tender as the chicken. I had no idea that there were whole pepper corns in those round doughnut shaped things....I gave it to my son to try and at first two bites he was loving it. Next thing I know...he's crying and saying its hot. I said...its not hot. Paused. Is it spicy? He said yes...HOT and proceeds to spit it out. :( I shove the rest of the stuff in my mouth and yes...I bit into a whole peppercorn. I'm a bad mommy. Should have ate a whole one before offering it to him. Yay that there were lots of varieties to try. Also a plus for hot breads, and lots of vegetarian dishes. My parents loved that part. :) A minus for my son since there weren't too many non spicy dishes for him to eat. :(
(4)Stephanie P.
This is the best Indian food I've ever had. Ever. They have an amazing lunch buffet and everything on it is absolutely delicious. I also love the atmosphere in this place- cozy, tranquil and exotic. There is almost always a lunch crowd, but I've never had a problem finding a table. The service has gone downhill over the years, although the wait staff is always friendly, they are super slow on refills, checks, and the all. But the good is so good, it really doesn't matter (unless you're in a hurry!)
(5)Kevin C.
Good food and BAD and Terrible service. Especially when they are packed. They have very few waiters and the ones they have are bad. Not a place for your date on weekends, even though the food is good.
(3)Sameer A.
OK, I am from India, and know a thing or two about good Indian food ;) As a grad student in Indianapolis, me and my Indian buddies were always looking for cheap places to chow-down. And my! Am I glad I found India Sizzling? Well heck yea! I have tried almost all the Indian restaurants in and around town, and I can say, without second-guessing, that India Sizzling is a GREAT Indian restaurant. I am a frequent here, and I've got my girlfriend (who is from Michigan) hooked to Indian food, thanks to India Sizzling. These guys usually don't compromise on taste. The food tastes very much like it should. Even though they maintain authentic tastes, they do not make the food too spicy, so people who are not used to spicy food can actually eat here. Having a good number of natives at an ethnic restaurant is a good sign. India Sizzling manages to attract a descent number of people from the subcontinent. Everytime I have visited, I have seen at least 2-3 American families dining in the place. That is again a good sign. This clearly shows that this restaurant manages to maintain that delicate balance of spice and taste that attracts Indians and Americans alike. It is a BIG DEAL. Indians have a reputation of eating super-spicy food, and Americans have a reputation of eating super-bland food. A place that can manage to satisfy both palettes has got a good thing going, in my opinion. Let's talk about the food and service, shall we? I usually go there on the weekends during lunch. They have a lunch buffet everyday, and I get to choose from a good variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. They keep rotating their menu, because I have not found the same collection of dishes everytime I have visited. But, there are a few items that are standard on the buffet menu, and I am not complaining :) They always serve 'naan' (bread) and Dosa (type of pancake, not sweet though) with the food, so you have something to eat the curries with. No rice is served though. My favorites are: Chicken Tikka Masala, Chili Chicken, Palak Paneer and Carrot Halwa. My girlfriend likes: Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer, and a few other vegetarian dishes. She says she could totally be a vegetarian in India :) The sweets/desserts are not the best, but they are still OK after a hearty Indian meal. I have had better desserts at Amber/Bombay Garden. The ambiance is relaxed. No dress code. I hate dressing up for food, so a thumbs up to this place for not having any dress code. The owner is a south Indian lady who is always friendly and talks to you nicely. One thing I would like to point out is that waiters/owners of most Indian restaurants are not the most courteous and will not necessarily greet you with a painted smile and pretend to be happy. The are usually grumpy, but its just the cultural difference. I was also like that when I first came to the US, but changed quickly when I realized that such grumpy behavior in public places is usually considered rude. Most Indians never understand that, and just stay the way they are. So, the service is OK, I guess. Certainly not the best, but you will not be disappointed. And last, but not the least - price. For the sheer number of dishes that you get to choose from, and the overall quality of the food, they charge a moderate sum of money. Around $9-9.50 on the weekends and maybe a dollar less on weekdays (pardon me, I do not remember the exact amount). So, bottomline - Should you go and at least try this place out once - YES. Should you fall in love with this place, like I have - That's your decision :)

The lunch buffet may be extraordinary, but as a place for dinner, I.S. is a clunker. The young woman who seated us took our drink and appetizer order. I asked, nicely, that our drinks be brought ASAP. She disappeared. After 10 - 15 minutes, a waiter appeared asking if he could take our order. We explained that we had ordered drinks and an appetizer. Oops. Drinks eventually appeared. Tip: don't order a cocktail at an ethnic restaurant that has no bar/bartender. The cocktail was mango juice, no alcohol evident. Get a beer instead. Our appetizer showed up (we were over-charged for it by $2). It was supposed to be a few chunks of lamb something, lamb sausage as it turned out. Looked like something your dog might have left on the sidewalk two sunny days ago, garnished with some curly purple and white cabbage looking material. It tasted OK, but very dry...left over from brunch? Dinner came with mounds of (very good) rice. Food was good. Rice is cheap, the chicken goop likewise. Some of the chicken chunks were tender and tasty; others were dry and chewy...left over from brunch? Thus, I.S. expensive given the food. We left a minimal tip because of the crappy service, the appetizer overcharge, and we did not know which of 4 servers was our wait person. If we knew it was the young woman, there would have been no tip. Overall, a weird experience. We will not go back for dinner; maybe will try the buffet.

I ate here for the first time tonight with a co-worker, we both wanted to try something new and we were not disappointed. The service was good, food was great and at a reasonable price.
(4)Mike K.
This is my neighborhood Indian restaurant, and what a lucky feller I am! I've been going here since they opened, going back because of the emphasis on a big explosion of flavor- not just heat. They'll give you that if you want it, but even served Midwestern White Guy mild, you're going to get an amazing burst of flavors from any dish. I took a Indian friend here, and he verified the food to me as the real deal. He's from Mumbai, so I trust his take on authenticity. There are always Indian families here at dinner time, and that tells me something. The lunch buffet is also good. A little higher price than most lunch buffets, but I'm always happy to splurge. Unlike many buffets, the quality of the food doesn't suffer greatly here. The service can be slow here, but I don't mind it. The decor is interesting, with a lot of copper colors and a warm, cozy feel. If I have to recommend only one restaurant in Fishers, speaking as a resident of the Town, this is the one.
(5)Casey R.
Best Indian in the city! Great food and the service is awesome, most of the time. Only had slow service once but its not the norm. One of Fishers best kept secrets!
(4)Jim F.
Go on Fri for the buffet it is great. The special breads & sauces are worth the trip.
(5)Katy M.
Stopped in for lunch on my second day since moving to Indy. There were 19 items on lunch buffet and only 4 weren't vegetarian! All the items I ate we're really tasty and creamy. They even brought a basket of hot, fresh naan rather than a tray of it on the buffet. It was delicious! The decor was cool too! Metal art on the walls that looks like stylized cityscapes and a fabric draped ceiling. I want to take my husband soon!
(4)Josh P.
This is the first place I ever tried Indian food and thanks to a great experience I have tried many other Indian restaurants, but none are as great as India Sizzling. I really enjoy the buffet and especially like the chili chicken, the spicy fried mushroom dish and of course the mango dessert. They change the offerings at the buffet quite often, so no matter how frequently you visit you will always find a new selection of tasty treats. The inside is very classy looking with all sorts of decorations, not what you would expect at a buffet. Service is pretty good. Most of the waiters are attentive, though we have had to wait quite a while for drinks occasionally and for the check at the end of the meal, but the quality and deliciousness of the food easily make the waiting tolerable. I would recommend this place to anyone.
(5)Daniel G.
I have been back several times to India Sizzling. The last visit with a group was one of the BEST meals I have had at just about any restaurant. They have more than one chef and we hit them on a night that was just memorable.
(5)Arunima R.
Definitely the best Indian restaurant withing Indy, Carmel and Fishers area. Pros - Buffet is great. Food is almost always tasty - there have been few misses but thats acceptable. Cons - Service is generally bad. There are few good servers and if they are working on the day you visit - then you are lucky. Else just enjoy the food :). Their Mughlai, Korma, tandoori items and Biryani stand out especially. Ideally I would like to give it a 3.5 instead of a 4.
(4)Paul F.
Had to have my Indian fix last evening and friends suggested the Siz. Never considered it due to trek from home. Usually four other Indian joints in my circuit. Food wise this is Da Best! Flavors like no other. Portions generous. Good heat. It was nice to see Masala dosa and other southern offerings alongside northern fare choices. Not too keen on amount of innards of the dosa and odd triangular shape instead of a roll... hard to divide for sharing. Would love to give five stars but service worse than bad. Place was jumping including two big tables with ONE waiter and one gopher. We weren't in a rush but still not acceptable especially for a Sat night. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
(4)Sivakumar M.
Very very very bad service... After a wait of 15 mins a lady came to take the order and even after 30 mins we were not given with starter. When we asked about the food to another guy, he inquired about the order to the lady who didn't even remember about that. Then another guy came and took the order and got the food after 20 mins. The worst part is that she didn't even apologize for making us wait for 1 hour for food. . The whole mood was spoiled and we had a bad valentines dinner..

Finally found an Indian place on the northeast side that we like. We tend to hit up Indian restaurants on Sundays for the buffet, and we stopped by here for the first time today. The buffet was one of the best I've had in the $8-$9 range, although it wasn't huge. Spice levels were very good -- some Indian buffets sometimes water stuff down for the lunch crowd. Good decor in the place too, and the staff was very friendly. Also, we saw an Indian family eating there. That's always a good sign :)

Lunch buffet = wow. There is a huge variety on the buffet, and the price cannot be beat. The food is among the best Indian food that I have had, so don't think that this 5 star rating is simply driven by the value. I grew up in South Africa and am from a family that appreciates good Indian food. I would definitely recommend this place as a great lunch spot! For less than $9 you get all items on the buffet, naan, and one other type of bread. I look forward to lunching here again soon.

I'm in Fisher's on business and was so happy to find this place. Went in for the lunch buffet and the first good sign was that there was a lot of indian folks eating there. They have a great selection of food and every dish has a distinct taste. For two of us it was $17 before tip. They brought out two different kinds of naan and the food in the buffet was replenished quickly. We left by 1:15 and there was a small line waiting to be seated. These guys deserve every star they get.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in town! I eat at India sizzling almost every week. Gets me my quota of Indian food, especially when I don't have the time to cook my own, which is pretty often, given my schedule! What I like about the place - - The dishes are quite close to how they would have been made in India. many restaurants in the US tend to adapt the dishes (temper them down a lot) and the fun in them is lost... - The copper artistry of the Mumbai skyline on the walls of the restaurant is very original. I like Mumbai a lot and this makes it even special. - very friendly staff!

Was craving something I hadn't had in a bit...a bit being a week and a half?. The decor has a subtle elegance to it, very warm and intimate. Not many other patrons this particular Friday evening, but a few couples rolled in closer to 8pm. I was there for the dinner hour, but could see that they must do a lunch buffet of some sort as well...although I loathe buffets of all food types...worth mentioning for those who do not share that feeling. The service was prompt, and pleasant. I started with the veg manchurian, and a sweet lassi, eventually topping off my gullet with some palak paneer. Everything was great, wonderfully flavored and perfectly spiced. Way too much food though, over ambiciousness on my part, along with quite large portions. The paneer wad served with rice and dal, plus I ordered a roti. The menu is vast, showcasing many traditional dishes from the South, even identifying vegan options along with an abundance of veg entrees. I really enjoyed my experience here, and hope to return with more realistic consumption expectations. Only complaint...and unfortulately it's a common one among Indian fare as of late...soggy papad/pampadoms.

One of the really good indian restaurants around Indianapolis. Will definitely eat there again.

Probably my favorite Indian in Indy! Great service and some different items that you usually see on an Indian buffet. I LOVE Indian food and eat it all the time here in Indy and just about anywhere I travel so I've got some frame of reference.

Good quality food. We had lunch today. Though limited number of vegetarian items were available, they were tasty. Especially, Pongal was good.

Been eating here at least once a week since march 2010.i have tried all the usual indian joints around indy, this place by far the best.everything is fresh, some things on the buffet are soggy, its a buffet, thats to be expected.the naan is the best i ever had,and it cooked as you put in your order your food. some buffets make it ahead of time, not these guys.

I recently moved to Fishers and was pleased to see an Indian restaurant near where I am staying. I did not expect it to be the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. I can't wait to give the lunch buffet a try.

Phenomenal. Best Indian food in Indianapolis hands down. My husband had the buffet and it was so good he took me back on another occasion for dinner. The food was fantastic both times. The decor of this restaurant is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful in making food choices. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a great dinner.

I stopped in for lunch a while back and wanted something vegan since I'm experimenting with a vegan diet. They had their buffet going on, and I asked if I could order off the menu. You would have thought I asked them to sacrifice their first born. The waterman had to go ask, and finally he came back and said I could but it might take a bit longer. Note: Do what your customers want if you want them to come back. I had a fresh cucumber spicy salad and an excellent saffron veggie soup. The soup was especially good, so I'll be back. The guy who filled my water was overly friendly. The other downside: The waiter needs to smile and act like he cares, even if the doesn't. Lose the tude!

This restaurant delivers an excellent buffet. There were at least 10 options at the buffet and 3 or 4 dessert options. I went up twice and both times had different items on my plate. Delicious vegetarians options and the fried options were amazing -- not greasy at all but crisp and melted in my mouth. The veg manchurian and chili chicken were the fried options and were fantastic. The veg korma was so addicting because it had such a rich flavor with slight tang. All at my table left with full bellies. Very nice workers too.

Best in the entire area, authentic and delicious. Paneer Pakora done just right, Chicken Tikka Masala right on the money. Sauce just right had it hot and perfecto. Staff is amazing and attentive. Any time in Indy this is the spot for sure, enjoy the real deal.

Good: Buffet is good in this area! -3 stars Bad: Biryani is really bad, stay away.- 1 stars

Well. I have found my Fishers favorite, and anyone who knows me knows that this is a big deal since among my local lovin...I am a McAlisters Deli whore. BUT I will be forgoing McAlisters for a while to get some more one on one time with India Sizzling. I went for lunch which was perfect because there was a little corner booth where I could enjoy my lunch buffet and read quietly without any interruptions. There was EVERYTHING here. I mean, I couldn't even try it all because there was so much. The rice was so fresh and delicious...not like that kind that tastes like its right out of some premade bag or something, and the staff..AHHHH a breath of fresh air. So attentive, friendly, and helpful. They were great at keeping me (the solo lunch diva) and the group of 8+ professionals all happy while still keeping hot food coming, and just being plain old great. Hands down, best Indian restaurant I've been to in a long time.

SUCH a bummer. When I first started working in Fishers, I visited this restaurant on a "get to know the area/lunch spots" lunch hour one day. I was thrilled. It wasn't as good as my standard India Garden, but it was a good filler for Indian cravings during the week. Then I went back a few months later and noticed a few things were a little bland, but not bad, just maybe an off day. I went back again a month or so later, and EVERYTHING on the buffet was bland. It was like everything was spiced to perfection, then drowned out with cream or broth. A co-worker and I were taking another co-worker who had never tried Indian food on the last trip. We had to explain to her that THIS was not up to par. Really hope these guys can figure out what went wrong. I really enjoyed the ambiance and the buffet in the past and would love to put it back into my lunch outings rotation.

The paneer was chewy and bland. The masala had a chunk of a bark like piece in it and on 2 of the bites I was overwhelmed with a strong taste of something that was NOT paneer masala. I had to spit out a bite!! The waiter didn't understand my order so I don't know if they did something to my food. I'm so use to Shalimer in Broad Ripple which excels in excellence. Everything from Shalimer has been perfect and delicious! But moved up north and have to find a new Indian restaurant. Unfortunately I won't be returning here.

Craving Indian, particularly Dosa. Arrive for lunch and it's buffet only. No menu. No Dosa. We wavered a second, but stayed. We were served water with no other offer of anything else. A single Naan cut into four wedges arrived. It was tender, chewy and crispy in all the right ways. I hate buffets. I just do. That didn't help the situation, but I tried several things. One scoop of Chicken Biriyani yielded no chicken, but one bone and two rock hard almond shaped seeds that I didn't recognize. I chewed carefully for the rest of my meal. The Chili Mushroom is freakin' delicious. Nothing else was awesome. The buffet was completely lacking the usual suspects I love: samosa, bajhi, pakora, papadum, onion & mango chutney. The place is filthy and the service is basic. I see now another reviewer said their card was compromised here. It's funny to read that because a strange guy appeared out of nowhere to take my card. He just seemed sketchy and I thought "he's going to steal my credit card number." I'll let ya know how that goes.

Had a less than ordinary experience in my last visit. Had gone with a good friend to specifically have their dosas. It was during dinner and we were in early (around 6:30 ish) and were told that dosas couldn't be served since one key ingredient (sambar daal which is basically a spiced lentil soup) was over. This was very surprising since people were just starting to come in! So I figure that the simply resuse the sambar daal from their morning buffet and on this day there was little left over from the morning. So 1 star knocked off! We had veg manchurian as appetizer instead which was as expected. Then we ordered chole bhature which was quite terrible and the chole had too much cummin powder in it. Also the portion size of chole and bhature were both smaller than in any other Indian restaurant in town. 2 star knocked off! Finally we ordered chicken biryani! While the taste was good as usual, there were hardly any chicken pieces. I reckon not more than 5 small sized chicken pieces. Usually they have about double the number. 3 stars knocked off!!! Suffices to say I was very sad since the friend was visiting from out of town, and I said this was the best of Indy! Will I come back, yes(since this is still sadly the best of the worst in Indy)! But it will be less frequent for sure.

This used to be the best Indian restaurant in Indy with good variety of food in the buffet. Now, you know what to expect if you go to buffet as the menu doesn't change much. We used to have lunch buffet every friday with our co-workers. Now this doesn't interest anyone. If you are a vegetarian it's NOT worth to go for Lunch buffet!. Who will go to an Indian restaurant to eat Daal (Lentils) or potato curry or Mixed vegetable korma or chana? And this has become standard veg curries for a long time. The owner doesn't put an effort to change the menu. Out of 8 members in the group 3 of us are vegetarians and don't have interest in going to this restaurant anymore. So, others also decided not to go and join us to a different restaurant. Dosa is taken out of the buffet. Gobi Manchuria is greasy & pathetic. Rice Pongal is okay. Pakodi is okay. White rice Not good. Coming to curries Potato, Chole & Daal ....No one likes to eat them and No one comes to a restaurant to eat them. I wish he could have made Vegatable Korma better, he dumps lots of cream in that curry so you will feel full very soon and you can't eat much in the buffet. The cream washes out any spices and taste. Paneer curry is good ...lots of cream is dumped into this also. Among the desserts Mango pudding is good. On my last visit, our group was so pissed off. We were about to start the buffet and Appetizers trays were empty, He said he will get it in 5 minutes. 10 minutes still no appetizer. So we asked him to bring Naan. It took 10 minutes for them to serve naan. We finally received Naan and appetizer at the same time. Vegeterian curries were horrible except the Paneer. If the owner is reading this review THINK! you already know the issues. Just Fix! them.

I just love the food at this place, the flavors and the quality of the dishes never disappoint. The thing I really love about their food is their ability to control the heat, if you order something spicy it will be spicy without the taste of the food suffering, in so many Indian restaurants the heat index is the same regardless of how you order it, here that is not the case, so if you do not like it really spicy do not order it spicy. The staff is friendly just slightly over stretched, hence the 4 star rating and not 5 stars. The wait staff is usually understaffed which results in drinks sitting on the table un-refilled, which is one of my pet peeves, sorry.
(4)Jennifer H.
To be honest, the lunch buffet can be pretty disappointing as far as vegetarian options go. I've been to it several times and have not been all that impressed - the last time there was a rather tasteless vegetable korma and channa masala, which tasted fine. We have ordered here once for takeout and I had to wait 30 minutes past the time I was supposed to pick it up. There aren't many other options for Indian food in my area, now that Deep is closed.
(3)Samuel H.
First time at the restaurant. ..but not my first time with their food. .got the chance to work with Chef Basil at one of his catered events and I had to visit! .wasn't let down. .food was great. ..surroundings and service was awesome. ..will deff be back!
(5)Shelby J.
We were in the area so I used my trusty Yelp app to locate some food. It didn't disappoint. Came at dinner, so we missed the lunch buffet. We ordered some Naan, and Biryani. Oh, and my husband ordered Chicken Tikka Masala because he is fully obsessed with that dish. All of it was good had a nice spice to it. If I am in the area, I would definitely grab a bite again!
(3)Jennifer J.
I couldn't have chosen a better place for my first Indian food experience. Usually I shy away from buffets, but it was very clean and the food was delicious. My friend had raved about it, so she helped me choose some different tasty things. I'd definitely go back again!
(4)Debra V.
This place is so hard to rate! The food is ridiculous. Everything I've ever eaten, buffet included, is so good. (I refuse to eat buffet food, but I make an exception for this place.) Bad news: despite the awesomeness of the food, the service here is horrible. The staff is friendly, don't get me wrong. But they are not fast nor are they attentive. The food is never bad, the staff is never rude, but do not eat here if you're in a hurry. You won't get prompt refills, you won't get your check when you need it, but the food is so good that, if you have the time, it's totally worth it. I feel like they need a seminar for the staff on how to wait tables and then this would be five stars all the way. Either way, I need their chicken tikka masala in my life.
(3)Justin O.
Nothing particularly standout. Food it good and the naan is toasty. I did the lunch buffet so this review is based on that although I expect the same quality for all their selections. The price is pretty low (8.99 for me) so that is nice. Kinda dark inside - I wasn't a big fan but it was acceptable. May come back but I will look around a bit first.

This is the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been too. I ordered palak paneer, chef surved palak paneer in malai kofta gravy and added palak paste mixed it. Which I wide say is what a pathetic way of making food. The servers were bunch of young indian grad student working part time there has no training of service industry, which is fine I don't really expect a amazing service from Indian restaurants. But you have to have a full time trained chef u can't afford to have some one not trained no xperience cooking food. I wasted my money but make sure none of my fends or ppl I know come here n get disappointed Bad experience stay away m sure u can find better Indian restaurant in ip

We had really, really bad service on our 2nd visit. No refills on water were offered (cardinal sin, in my book, when ordering spicy food!) We had to flag down some random dude to get us water... Super unprofessionally, the only server in the restaurant that night spent his time playing on his phone in front of us instead of A) getting us water refills, B) clearing away our plates, C) brining us the check, and D) taking the check away. We ordered dosas and they all came out at different times -- understandable, but annoying when you add it to the spotty service. I do not stiff waiters but I had to really talk myself into leaving him anything. Food is solid. The manchurians are the best I've had in the US. Unfortunately the service better improve or we can't justify the prices and the drive.

Straight up delicious! I'll admit that I had lower expectations because India Sizzling is located in a strip mall in the suburbs. But I was attracted by the festive name and the generally good Yelp reviews - definitely a good decision to give them a try. India Sizzling is kind of tucked away, off the main drag in a mini-mall that looks half vacant. Once inside, the décor is tasteful and modern, with warm colors and a "tented" ceiling. The menu is extensive with both the standard offerings and some more unusual things to pick from. Prices are very reasonable (almost everything under $15) and the portions are very large. My go-to at Indian places is vindaloo and I like it spicy. There's nothing more disappointing than asking for "spicy" and getting something that isn't. India Sizzling delivered a SIZZLING hot vindaloo (see what I did there?) with well balanced flavors and lots of delicious, tender chicken. My dining partner ordered a paneer dish with a korma sauce and pronounced it tasty as well. I mentioned that the menu has some more unusual offerings - we tried the Kashmiri naan which is stuffed with cherries, coconut and nuts. It wasn't my choice and I was pretty skeptical but damn! That was amazing - just a little bit sweet and full of flavor. If naan came in loaves I would be tempted to eat whole loaves of this stuff. Why not 5 stars? Well, the service was pretty bad. They had one waiter for the whole place (and several guys standing around) and although he was hustling, it took a lot longer than it should have. That aside, I'm beholden to India Sizzling (it's such a great name - I can't stop saying it!) for some of the best Indian I've had anywhere. India Sizzling!
(4)Craig B.
Worst service I've had in a long time . I sit down at the table they bring water with no ice . Oh wait they did not even offer alternative drink and had no napkins on the table . I had to get up walk to the back and ask for napkin . I would been very likely to purchase a beer or soda If they just came to the table and offered drinks . Instead the two servers set at the table folding napkins and ignoring the customers . Very poor service, if I was there boss i would fire them both . Ignoring customer and treating them poorly is not acceptable . 1:45 on Tuesday not a recommended time . Not to me too is not recommend this place at all to anyone . There much better Indian cuisine near by

This place is amazing! My first Indian food experience and I am happy it was here! The service is great as well as the environment and decor. We have been back since and will continue to come back!

I have been back for the lunch buffet several times. I don't know if this place is the best in Indy... but the food is so damn good I am not inclined to try another place. I will go so far as saying its the best Indian food I've had outside of India :-O My lunch buffet faves: Channa Chaat (I love that its a little bit different each weekend. Yes, I have been here multiple back-to-back weekends) Dosa (always order the mysore masala its a little spicy) Sambar (there are many ways to make sambar and they make it different ways each weekend. Its not watered down - added bonus) Pongal (this is my comfort food, I need a second stomach just for the pongal. They make is like my grandma would make) Fried vada/pakora (changes each week) Manchurian (ahh indian chinese....) I hardly make it to the vegetables and naan part. Its usually a small teaspoon of each to taste and one naan piece. Oh and save room for dessert - the gulab jamun is good!
(5)Angela U.
Last night was my first trip to India Sizzling and it was amazing. Samosa chaat was perfect! We also got chicken tikka masala and mater paneer. Amazing! I will definitely be back!!
(5)Sarah H.
Love their buffet! So glad to have a great Indian restaurant nearby in Fishers. The staff is friendly, and they have a great selection. My favorite dishes are the chicken tikka masala and my hubby loves their lamb and goat dishes.
(4)Kaleend D.
Again great food. Friendly staff and very fresh and well cooked food. Had the dosa and the punjabi food which were both equally awesome.
(4)Miriam W.
This place has very delicious food, although I found it a little rich, so, while I would go back, I don't think I'd be a regular. The buffet is ample and probably worth the price tag. I indulged in the vegetarian options, and found plenty to eat. The eggplant was yummy and spicy, the korma was very tasty and the paneer dish was fresh and unexpectedly spicy, which I do not object to. I just found myself wishing for one or two choices that were lighter and not so rich. The space itself is very nice and I get why it's such a popular restaurant, as the people in the kitchen know what they're doing.
