So, one thing no one mentions is that this place has the best desserts in Fishers. Kahlúa brownies, tiramisu cake, eclairs, and more. I don't know who makes the desserts for their buffet, but I would honestly pay the buffet price just to get those! The Chinese food is just so/so. It's by no means bad, but none of the entrees stand out all that much either. The General Tso's chicken borders on actually having some spice, which is nice as most buffet's avoid spiciness completely for fear of offending sensible pallets. I notice a few reviews below mentioning cleanliness issues, but several of those reviewers seem to be out-of-state. I'm almost wondering if they've got the wrong Dragon House and meant to review something in their areas. Dragon House in Fishers is one of the cleanest low-budget Chinese places I've ever been in! So it really surprises me to see that as a complaint. I eat there for lunch very regularly and have never noticed the usual caked up grease grime that accumulates in Chinese restaurants or any other dirt or grime for that matter. If you're in the mood for Chinese food in the Fishers' area, I think you'll be hard pressed to find someplace much better. And if you're in the mood for a good dessert, this is the place I'd start with!

My husband and I tried this tonight via delivery because I have been craving Chinese food. It was really delicious! Quality meat, crisp, fresh vegetables, yummy sauce ( I ordered the Szechaun Chicken). I loved that the sauce was not thick and gummy like you find in lesser quality restaurants. Egg rolls were awesome, as was Hot and sour soup. I ordered online for delivery, but didn't realize that I can't tip once the delivery person is here if the tip wasn't included during the original order (FYI). Best I've had in a long time!!!

Excellent Chinese buffet! Food is fresh and delicious. I tried this place because the previous review said it was the best Chinese food on the north side and it did not disappoint me!

The food was quality, and I really enjoyed the smaller selection. Very laid back place and decent price for dinner. Glad to of found this place on Yelp.

My family had buffet over the weekend. There is not a huge variety of food but the taste is great. Will definitely visit again if we are around that area.

Last minute decision led me to order delivery from Dragon House. I ordered Mongolian Beef, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Pot Stickers. The order was taken quickly and the food was delivered in less than 30 minutes. My order was hot and it tasted great. The Shrimp Fried Rice was the best I have ever had. Large, tender shrimps with large pieces of egg and vegetables. I really enjoyed everything. I have eaten the lunch buffet, but never ordered takeout/carry out. I'm glad I did. I will be calling again soon!

My first experience with this place. I ordered online and it immediately told me it would be about a 30-45 minute wait. I asked for no onions and I go not onions in my food! My food was delivered within 35 minutes and it was very hot and fresh. I think it was an awesome value for my family of 4, we got lots of food and had leftovers....yes, LEFTOVERS! I only gave 3 stars because my lo mien noodles were a little softer than what I liked and my fortune cookie was stale! Other than that I will be back!

Delicious! They have the best Hot and Sour soup in Indiana. There's a coupon on their site for 6.95 lunch buffet. It jumps to 9.50 (I think) during dinner. Only been there once for dinner and I don't really see any difference between dinner and lunch menu.

I just walked out from having lunch here. The food was disgusting, flavorless, old and burnt that's a bad combination when you're hungry for Chinese food.....I wouldn't recommend this to be given to a dog!!!!!

For ten dollars it is a good place to eat including dessert and a drink the fried coconut is really good

Food is very good, starteimg to become a little more expensive, but far and away the best chinese buffet in the area.

Indoor experience....hmm, initial thought was disappointment at the size of the buffet. Had I not known how good the food was, I probably would've never given the place a chance at $9.50 a person; I think I've seen free continental breakfasts at hotels with bigger selections or come to think of it my Lola's kitchen has had bigger spreads (Lola is gramma in tagalog, a Filipino dialect...and yea I'm Filipina so i might be spoiled in that regard. LoL). Now, with that said...THE FOOD THAT'S THERE IS YUMMY (it's still my go-to for Chinese delivery in fishers***see my first post). I was able to eat all my favs and try some new stuff (maybe you might skip the fried noodles, that's just my advice...like fried Ramen with sugar and soy sauce). I read on another yelp that the desert selection was great but I didn't see that, but to each their own; my kids did like the puff pastries. THEY DO keep fresh food in the trays at all times, so though the selection is small, it's tasty and fresh. All-in-all, I'll be sticking to my delivery for Dragon House, or I'll order food from the menu so I can take my doggy bag of goodies home. For the price of the buffet it's a better deal, especially if you know what you like, IMO, to order off the menu. ***TIP: There is a coupon online that will give you a dollar off the buffet but you HAVE to print it out, the cashier was going to let me show it to him on my phone but the owner said that was not happening. Bummer, even the cashier was bummed , it was Mothers Day after all. So print, print, print.

I ordered take out from this place at least once a day when I was here for work. I love Asian food and Chinese take-out is my guilty pleasure. They have a large variety and are very nice when you order and when they bring you your food. I loved the pork ribs when I was here and I got them every time. What stinks is if you wait to late into the day they will run out, but it was worth it when I got it the other days. I don't know what else to say about this place since it is a Chinese take-out place, and you can get these dishes anywhere else, but if you are looking for a lace that delivers and want Chinese food this place is great! I still think about their pork spare ribs!

I'm in Indianapolis almost every other month because my lovely sister just had a baby girl. Normally, we just stay in and I cook. But I was absolutely craving some Chinese food this week. I googled some places and Dragon House Chinese Eatery had decent reviews and was a short drive away. We ordered the Family Dinner for 4 Special which came with spring rolls or soup, fried rice, lo mein, and 2 meat entrees for $23.99 -- great deal there, you can't go wrong! We ordered the spring rolls, veggie fried rice, veggie lo mein, chinese vegetables and sesame chicken. Additionally, we got crab rangoon and singapore noodles. Overall, the food was okay but for our group tasted underseasoned. The singapore noodles were very delicious and had a great curry flavor though. The sesame chicken also had a great flavor. But the rest, eh. Not my favorite. But hit the spot for a quick Chinese food take out craving. Customer service was fantastic. I was able to call and place my order with ease and my food was ready in 15 minutes. Inside, the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Other reviews said the buffet is great so maybe eat in.

We've lived in Fishers for just shy of 2 yrs now. Being that I'm from the UK, where there is a Chinese or Indian take away place on every corner, this place rates up there with some of the best, and I've had home cooked, sit at their table, Chinese food. Great food for a great price. But make sure you get there about 1 hr after they have opened to get the freshly prepared dishes.

Negative Stars. Tried this place for the first time. Honey chicken served raw. Gnats flying around and fell in pot sticker sauce. Then my daughter pointed out the dead baby roach on one of the pot stickers. I brought it to the hostess' attention and she offered to take it off the bill. I said no thanks, collected the kids and left. If I hadn't been (and still am) trying to hold back from getting sick to my stomach I would have taken a picture for proof. Granted, in some countries outside the US this is no big deal... but that isn't want I came here for. Left the entire meal on the table. Gross.

I took my mother here on a Friday night. I should have known better when there were only like 6 people in the place on a Friday night. The food was NOT fresh. There was a colony of Drosophila melanogaster (fruit flies) chilling on the desserts. Yummy! They were putting out such small amounts of food out it was ridiculous. Literally like 3 serving spoons at a time. Some of the food you could tell had been sitting out for a while. There was a pan of dried out, burned noodles that sat there untouched for at least 40 minutes. The food was not flavorful at all. I was really disappointed. I will definitely not be back.

Picked them at random this evening as they deliver to our neighborhood. No prior experience or expectation. Ordered online (handy, but not very descriptive if you're not sure what you want), and settled down to wait for what we thought would be a normal 30-40min. Our doorbell rang in less than 20! Sweet! Food was tasty. Will definitely order from them again.

The wife and I have been eating a Dragon House once or twice a month since we moved to Noblesville. The price is very good and so is the quality of the food. While it is a smaller selection than other buffets almost everything is delicious and there are several good non-fried choices which make it ok for our diets. Indeed this would have been a 4 star review 4 months ago. However in the last 3 months or so they have changed their egg rolls significantly and now they are extremely unpalatable. It seems that they have a strange purple cabbage in them now that wasn't there before and the flavor and aftertaste is a bizarre peanutty one. We still like going here but the egg rolls are a big part of the Chinese food experience for us. It's definitely taken the experience down a peg in our eyes. If anyone from Dragon House reads this CHANGE THEM BACK! Update: I don't know if Dragon House has read my review, but I'm happy to report that the last time I was there the egg rolls have been changed back to the way they used to be, and no longer have the strange peanut flavor. Awesome.

This is your typical Chinese place. Decent food, decent prices. Their General Tso's is pretty good but a little too sweet and not as spicy as I like. The crab rangoon was comparable to every other Chinese delivery place in Indy. I have not been in the actual restaurant, just ordered delivery. They were fast and the delivery guy was friendly. We will continue to order from here in the future.

Not much to this place. A little smaller than most, the food is good and they have fried coconut milk....I've never had that before...and I liked it! Not sure if I'll be back or not.

when i walk up to the register, dude comes in from the kitchen eating a bowl of food. thats just TACKY!. then as im eating my pork egg foo young left overs the next day, i find a piece of hard plastic in my food. no point in calling on their 100% guarantee because they would say i shouldve eaten it all the same day to make a complaint. (also, since it was lunch hours, i didnt think i had to say i wanted the lunch portion). they just gave me the dinner size without even asking me-to charge me more. never going there again

--Tried this Asian buffet for lunch & I would say average but not yuk. The competion is great here in Indy. (As every other city. Big cities have an advantage of raising the bar.) Every other strip mall here has an Asian restaurant, whether Thai, Chinese,

My new favorite inexpensive Chinese buffet! I tried it on a whim today and was impressed. Its a couple notches above your average Chinese buffet in quality, and It's a great deal for the modest price. My favorites on the buffet were the pot stickers, the crab Rangoon, the fried noodles, and the sweet and sour chicken. Everything i tried was good, though, with the exception of the fake crab, which tasted fishy. The sesame chicken and the bourbon chicken were especially yummy, and the spicy green beans were awesome! You can bet I'll be back!

This is our "auto go to place" when we can't decide or agree on what we are hungry for. The food is always good, always fresh, always flavorful. If you are looking for the 100' (every thing including the kitchen sink average to poor quality food at best buffet table), this is not your place. But, if you are in the mood for well above average quality Chinese food with a nice variety of well prepared and always fresh food, you will not find a better place in all of Indy. Owned by a local husband and wife team who have operated this place successfully for years. If you are a fan of good and fresh, I promise you will not be disappointed.

  • Todd Z.

Disgusting. Food on the buffet so long it was burnt or totally dried out. Come on folks, at least stir this garbage once in a while. The only thing brought out fresh while we were there was white rice. It was not very moist and looked and tasted more like instant rice. Do not go. These folks would much rater save a buck than provide a decent buffet.

  • Sam P.

It's an OK Chinese buffet restaurant catering to American taste. None of the dishes taste like authentic Chinese but most customers don't care. Price is decent and comes with drinks.

    (3)
  • Scott N.

This is a pretty sub-par Chinese buffet. Most of the food selections are bland and need a lot of salt or soy sauce to be even edible. There just isn't much flavor it the place. I had high hopes for the restaurant with the strong reviews on Yelp, but I was quite disappointed by what I tasted at Dragon House. All of the rice and noodle dishes were as bland a white rice and if I want white rice, I'll serve myself white rice. Overall, it felt like I was eating Chinese food from a midwestern university dorm, not a restaurant, and unfortunately, the restaurant decor supports this comparison. I will not be making a return visit.

This restaurant is ok for the price, but not great. We came for the lunch buffet on a Saturday. Food was ok...good spring rolls, soup and pot stickers..nice thin dough on them. First time I had fried Coconut milk..that was yummy. Also, the fish was surprisingly good. Green beans were good. Attendants kept a very close eye on the food on the warming table, stirring frequently and ordering when running low. Dessert was not memorable--the fresh fruit was fresh, the rest typical. Was missing the sugar coated nuts and those heart shaped cookies that are a usual staple of most buffets. So, in conclusion, it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great...it was ok.

I have always lived in a city with a Chine Town, which means the food is a cut above city's with out one! What a surprise a good Chinese buffet! No I have not lost my mind, it is really quite good. The food is fresh and for the most quite taste. I'm not a fan of the BBQ pork seemed to be a little under done and lacked spice. Spic e would be the missing factor, the foods is made for white bread folk's. But that did not chase me way the freshness made up for the low spice. The food was not from the freezer and looked to be made in house even the stuff like dumplings, crab rag., and egg rolls, with seem at most places to be all the same. The food trays where being filled the whole time I was eating and they did have a good flow of people. Live well and eat well and please no chains!

Was not impressed. The food was extremely greasy and needed lots of sauce and/or salt for taste. Fried foods came out extremely soggy. The won ton soup was sub par but I did finish at home. Crab Rangoon was not as expected and although it was not as soggy as other items it was nit crispy and I didn't taste and crab, just a lot of cream cheese. Steamed vegetables were ok however I would assume that would be hard to mess up.

Never again. I dropped in for a quick dinner. Wish I would have hit the McDonalds around the corner. I read the reviews, I wasn't privy to the "freshness" nor "tasty." I'm not above a strip mall Chinese buffet- just not this one. NO flavor in addition to the buffet "guy" yelling to the back to fill items sealed the deal for me.

This is "hands down" our favorite Chinese Buffet in the Indianapolis area. I have been here a lot and love the fact that it isn't a huge buffet. The food is always really fresh and in smaller quantities. They make it as they need it and it doesn't sit there all day long like most Chinese places. I think the food here is always perfect and love going there. Some of my favorite dishes include Egg Foo Young and the General Tsos Chicken. Of you haven't been to this restaurant, you should try it at lunch or for an early dinner. Food is always really good!

We eat here once a month or more. Barry and Rosa have owned the restaurant for a number of years and one or both are always on site. For buffet food this place is great. The buffet table is small compared to many restaurants, but that allows them to monitor the food quality. Although not a large selection, there is enough variety to have diferent tastes and textures for an interesting meal. Nothing sits on the buffet for long periods of time like many Chinese buffets. The restaurant draws a lot or regulars who appreciate the consistancy and quality of the food. They also do a good carry out business and you can order from the menu if you prefer. Drinks are included in the price. They get 5 stars for food quality, consistancy, cleanliness, and owner attention to detail.

I would say a 2.5- not bad, not great, just blah Came here the other day with my wife and son. I had a craving for a Chinese buffet, and these place had coupons, so I figured why not. I'm not going to go into such great detail, but this place is your typical Chinese buffet. They have the standard dishes (lo mein, general's chicken, bourbon chicken, etc...). Dessert selection is small, and salad selection is almost non-existent, but if you're going to a Chinese buffet for these items, you are sadly mistaken. 6.99 for lunch, which includes a drink, and 8.99 for dinner. They also have lunch specials ranging from 5.25-6.00. Snag a coupon online to drop that down a bit. Overall- it satiates the Chinese craving, but nothing to write home about. When it comes to Chinese buffets all are not created equal! Dragon House is one of the better ones. The food is always fresh and tasty and the service is pretty good as well. If you're like me, you walk into a Chinese buffet expecting some of the usual suspects when it comes to the food, this place delivers that but also some extra's that you don't see everywhere else. For example, fried coconut milk and lettuce wraps. Listen, it's a Chinese buffet, you're not going to leave this place with your head hung high, you're going to leave in pure Chinese buffet shame....BUT you will be happy! If you are in the area and needing a buffet fix definitely check this place out!

I've been going to Dragon House since they opened their doors over a decade ago. Barry and Rosa, the couple that owns the restaurant, are excellent hosts. They are always hospitable, gracious, and make such an effort to get to know their customers. And the food...I'm not usually a huge fan of buffets, but this buffet is so good! Potstickers, lettuce wraps, egg drop soup, eggrolls, Cashew chicken, sweet and sour...all delicious. They offer both a lunch and dinner buffet. Lunch is 7.25 and dinner is 9.25. Great price for the selection and quality. I absolutely love this place for so many reasons, and it's obvious the rest of Fishers does too.

Bummer, even the cashier was bummed , it was Mothers Day after all. So print, print, print.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
