I'll be back here. Tekkadon was really good. The fried lobster roll was great! Nice staff, good sushi.

We did our holiday party here, do we did hibachi, the food was really good! We started with the "Lets get crazy Roll" and the "Kamikaze", both tolls were delicious! We then did Hibachi very good, entertainment was really good but kinda faded off towards the end most hibachi grills I have been to do the Saki were they squirt it in your mouth as they cook, and get group involved in counts but they didn't do that, so they was a downer! I thought the prices were fair and enjoyed out time

Was in Evansville for a business trip. My co-workers and I got minor food poisoning here. Luckily mine was not as bad because I ordered udon. My colleagues ordered rolls that were served cold, which led me to believe they had unsanitary food handling practices. Ironically the rolls had no raw fish, from which I ate a couple pieces. Maybe it's because our San Francisco stomachs have grown accustomed to super fresh, clean fish. Maybe Zuki really does have something fishy going on back there. But what's certain is that I will not return, nor will I recommend the restaurant to others.

I was seriously not impressed with the food here, or the service. My mistake was coming here after going to Nagasaki Inn. Nagasaki pretty much sets the standard for the best sushi and Japanese cuisine available in the area, and Zuki fails. Once again for people that keep calling this place Hibachi. Hibachi is a style of grilling. This place is Teppanyaki, which is frying on a flat surface. Frying and grilling are not the same thing, and produce very different flavors. Pan fried steak is not the same as grilled steak. For those that cannot tell the difference, you are the sucker. Keep in mind that Evansville still has not heard of Froyo, Bubble Tea, dim sum, and I was not in the area long enough to try to find decent Chinese or Korean food (if any). My parents wanted to take my husband and I out for dinner in Evansville, Indiana. We arrived here on a Wednesday night, they were packed, and I do not understand why. After reading so many great reviews, I was being optimistic. The sushi chefs were speaking Spanish and Tagalog, which threw me off, since I was wishing for Japanese quality standards. But, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I was surprised to see that they were offering yakatori, so we ordered a couple of skewers. After they arrived we saw that it was the same as their teppanyaki meat, even with the ketchup sauce on top. Not yakatori style at all. The sushi items were not fresh, so I did not even eat all of my rolls. The fish was disgusting, but I did not want to cause any problems because it is obviously chaos in the kitchen here. The California Roll that my father ordered was falling apart. My Zuki Roll was bland and squishy, so was the spicy tuna roll. Luckily we did not get sick. We ordered Vegetable Tempura Dinner to go along with our sushi selections- ended up with a shrimp tempura appetizer that we tried to turn away. Then, they brought us veggie fried rice, which we did not order either, we tried to turn it away. My Mom is vegetarian, and you can taste the meat flavor in the rice here. Then, we finally received the vegetable tempura, but it was the appetizer portion. However, the waitress gave us the fried rice and shrimp tempura appetizer for free, because she did not want to return it to the kitchen and get yelled at. This happened to us frequently in Evansville, where servers try to give us other tables food or additional dishes that we did not order. Must be regular practice.

If you are looking for great customer service and a positive dining experience you might want to try a different restaurant. While the food was adequate, the customer service was terrible. In fact one of the people in our party didn't even receive their meal. The waitress answer was to let us know she could resubmit the order, package it to go, and we wouldn't need to pay for the order. At over $30 per plate, it appears the staff is not in touch with the concept of paying to dine out with the family versus eating out.

Zuki continues to impress! I'm incredibly happy with the quality of sushi and their menu items have always been good. I will say that they're a bit pricey for what I'm used to; having said that, it's still worth coming to since there are few good sushi places in SoIN! I would highly recommend visiting if you're in the area! Great staff and great service as well!

I drove 3 hours from St. Louis to sample Zuki. Ok, not really, but it was a pleasant meal at the end of a 3 hour drive. Ordered 3 rolls -- Jane, ZigZag, and Halloween -- and a sashimi dinner. The dinner came with soup and a salad for one person. My girlfriend didn't want to be "that salad girl" so she picked the soup and I got the salad. The salad dressing was one of the best I've ever had at a Japanese restaurant. It was miso-y and somewhat sweet, like a delicious combination of honey mustard and Italian and miso. The soup was fairly standard and a bit salty. The rolls were good and didn't have too much rice. My favorite roll was the Halloween: some sort of tuna and avocado thing. Next was the Jane: salmon and avocado and some crunchies maybe? Our waitress said the roll was "interesting." I'd say it's interesting too, in a good way. The third place roll was the ZigZag -- not that it was horrible, just that it wasn't as good as the other two. It also had crunchies. I wanted to order sashimi so I could rate the fish quality. The dinner came with about 15 pieces of about 5 different fish and seafood. There was no fishy taste to the fish and it wasn't served too cold or warm. Presentation of the fish and rolls were very simple and elegant. Rolls were around $11 each and the sashimi dinner was $19, IIRC. The decor is what one might term "upscale modern Japanese." The restaurant is replete with waterfalls and a nice color scheme. It is divided into a hibachi area and a general seating area for sushi-only orders. I didn't try the hibachi but I saw the usual tricks like the onion volcano and the knife flips, and really you have to put in effort to make a bad hibachi. Zuki deserves a visit if you are looking for great sushi and sashimi. I hear the selection of Japanese restaurants is rather limited in Evansville, and if that is the case, you'll find a comforting choice in Zuki.

Best place for sushi in Evansville bar none! Out of all the Japanese Sushi restaurants I've been to, this is my favorite, and that's saying something. Every roll is fresh made and tastes amazing, and the hibachi is always a fun show with awesome food. The atmosphere is extremely inviting and the service is pretty good (I've had only one sub par waitress that I can remember out of the dozen times I've been here). Also, if you come during peak hours for hibachi, be prepared to wait up to an hour without a reservation. Plan ahead ;-) The only hit I'd give this place is that it's fairly pricey compared to other sushi places, and it's not hard to rack up a $25-35 bill per person. With that said, you by no means get over charged for everything you experience, but you literally get what you pay for. Overall, this is one of my top three places in Evansville to eat and is the best sushi I've ever had. If you're looking for an amazing dining experience or a better hibachi grill, you'd be hard pressed to do better within a hundred miles.

The atmosphere is great and the service is excellent. The sushi was decent at best. I was visiting from Cali when I had Zuki. I wouldn't get the California roll because anyone could make it better at home. The 4 stars are for the location and visuals.

Don't expect a good outcome. We had the family out for a Saturday night dinner. Some meals didn't arrive and some were wrong. A gluten free meal was tasteless. They have confused gluten free with steamed and no seasoning. The waitress assured us that there was gluten free soy sauce available but it was never brought to the table even when requested twice. And it sure wasn't used in the hospital food cooking. Drinks were not refilled. No checking on us at all. Disappointing especially at their prices.

Yep, still good sushi but service is still spotty. I wouldn't call it the best sushi in town but it's good. I'd like to put an urgency fire under the servers...our server was rather surly so having a better attitude would have been better too.

This is by far mine and my boyfriend's favorite sushi place in Evansville! I like the hibachi veggies here better than nagasaki as well. Cool atmosphere, friendly people, and I've never had a long wait.

Welcome. So if you haven't read my review on Nagasaki and you are trying to decide between there and someone else, check it out. Don't go there until after you read the review. Now for Zuki After an unpleasant experience at another sushi place (you figure it out) I settled on Zuki. Close to my hotel and good reviews. Greeted at the door with a big smile. Fairly busy as they were seating a large group ahead of me. I'm flying solo and wanted sushi so I sat at the bar. Waitress was very friendly and offered to help. I already had my mind made up and got the sushi dinner. Miso soup was very good. Hot and tasty. The house salad was good but was pretty wet. The sushi was very good. Fresh, nicely made and presented. The dinner had seven pieces of nigiri and a california roll. There was a piece of sushi I didn't recognize and asked the chef, who was very nice what it was. Turns out it was squid. NP, first time for everything. Not my piece of sushi as it were, but everyone is different. Ordered a few more pieces and some Flying Fish Roe, fresh and crunchy. Before I left the sushi chef asked how everything was and even asked if I liked the sushi. I guess the face I made said it all because he got a good laugh. So if you're in Evansville looking for sushi, Zuki is the place to go.

Enough food for a small army & a show to entertain you if you're with an awkward blind date. The food is fresh, cooked to order, and worth every penny.

We all enjoyed our meals. The favorites at our table were the pot stickers, the Fire Scallops (spicy scallops with shredded crab) and the Thai roll (shrimp and avocado topped with crab). The other rolls we shared were good but I can't remember their names. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere nice. I'll have to go back and try the hibachi and yakitori.

I love this place there arent alot of sushi places in evansville but this place is awsome some of the best sushi i have had (in evansville) a few of my favorite were the dragon roll the zuki roll lobster roll and a few others but thos are my top they have a good hibachi but i always choose sushi over that and they have awsome lunches to you can get hibachi bento or bento that you get to choose out of all of the rolls on the menu! un like nagasaki they only alow you to choose from 5 rolls for the bento so if you want a good sushi meal in a place with great sevice and people this is the place to go one of my favorite places in evansville :)

A really nice place in Evansville. Came in here one afternoon and sat down at the hibachi table where the guy put on a pretty nice show. Fire and jokes not usually a good combo but works here. I thought for the amount of food I ordered was pretty reasonable and would come back.

This is a solid sushi restaurant that compares favorably with places found in larger cities. I have eaten here dozens of times, and I have never had a bad experience. I always appreciate the competence of the chefs in executing standard sushi fare. The specialty is West Coast-style rolls, but the nigiri and sashimi are decent. (They also serve some noodle dishes and have a Hibachi grill, but I've never tried those things.) The atmosphere is nice; the place is not huge, and it is well-decorated and has a dark, red and black design that sort of tricks you into thinking you're somewhere else for a short while. In the grand scheme of things, Zuki is nothing fancy or special, but if you are in Evansville and you need a sushi-fix, it is your best bet. I have never left disappointed.

sushi there is average. only went there once and never go back.

I think the food is average here....but my niece and nephew love it when we come here, so I really want to give it 3.5 stars. One thing was sort of strange, my sister had a 10% off coupon and went she went to use it, they told her it was only good for 10% off "one" entree, not the entire food bill. Now that is a little odd....

I have always gone to the other Japanese restaurants in town and found out I was missing out. Zuki's is great! Good food, good service and a fun show. I've had the chicken hibachi and scallop hibachi. Both were excellent. Lots of food. The Yum Yum sauce was very good.

We went there on a semi-busy night with around 6 of us. Sat at the hibachi table and everyone got hibachi but me. 3 of us ordered sushi and mine never arrived.. So here I am sitting there looking weird while everyone else is nearly done with their food. Finally ask what was taking so long and she said she brought it. I'm getting pretty irritated after being ignored til this point so I say "Well, where is it?" Turns out she put my sushi on the same plate with a friend of mine, who was 3 chairs away btw, and had expected us to know the difference and share. This was a birthday dinner and I think I kept my cool pretty well, but some of these servers need to pay more attention

Zuki has been around for quite a while in the tri state area; it was once my favorite place to eat, however as the years pass it seems like it is lacking in service and and good sushi. Recently every time I come in the sushi freshness has been BELOW sub par and the service has been awful. Often times I never see my server until after my meal and did not hardly come by to refill my drink. My all time favorite roll is the sunrise roll, but recently I find myself deconstructing my roll and taking out the raw salmon because it was as if it's been laying in a fridge uncovered for a few days. That's how it tasted and texture wise felt. Also I ordered a spicy scallop roll which is usually not on the book specialty menu but it is on the paper sushi menu and my server looked at me like I was an idiot as if he had no idea what roll I was talking about on top of his douchebag presence. I have been going to zukis since it started when they served a special breakfast; I myself know the owners. I don't know what's going on but I hope they get it together.

My husband and I eat here as often as possible! They have, BY FAR, the BEST Japanese food in town!!! Their Habichi Steak & Shrimp...melts in your mouth! Take your Honey here if you are trying to impress her! EXCELLENT across the board!

I have been to Zuki several times since it has opened. Every time I have been to Zuki it never fails that I have received horrible service, but I tried to look past that because I enjoyed the food so much. However, after eating dinner there last I got food poisoning from the Dancing Mama roll that I had. The food did not taste fresh by any means, which is extremely disappointing seeing that they have some of the most expensive sushi rolls in town and their whole menu is pricey. My waiter this time was no exception to the bad service problem. When me and another person in my party asked about our food his response was "What do you want me to do about it?" After trying to call and speak to management 3 times now and being hung up on I will not be returning and will be telling anyone that asks about Zuki to do the same.

We went we waited we ordered drinks then waited and waited drinks show up then we waited and waited and left. I know the good is good when/if it comes. However, after as long as this place has been open you'd think the service would improve. Perhaps to go is the best option.

Best sushi place in town. When I come to visit this I always make sure to make time for dinner at Zuki. The tropical salad and sake cocktails are to die for, the sushi and sashimi is always fantastic. Food: 5/5 Service: 3/5 - can be so spotty! Location: 4/5

We had the hibachi and some sushi. The sushi was awesome (Mango Tango, EVV Roll, Spider Roll, Red Snapper, tuna & eel). The hibachi was ok. They cooked the rice first, so it was cold by the time the rest of the food was cooked. Overall, a great dinning experience.

I absolutely love their food. Its great. Obviously some chefs are better than others. The only thing I don't like is the wait is a little long and they have to fill up the table at hibachi before they'll take your order. The tea isn't the greatest. Kinda tastes like it came out of a gallon jug from the grocery store.

I'm on a work trip and was craving some classic hibachi! The people here are more than amazing. Hope was more than amazing! The food was delicious! I highly recommend this place! What a wonderful atmosphere!!!

Great service, wonderful atmosphere, and good food. Found this place through yelp. This resaurant was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It has hibachi (or tappenyaki), a sushi bar, and tables as well. There was live music when we went (on a Wednesday night). That's actually pretty cool if you ask me. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered the Thai roll, the fried lobster roll, and the sunomono. The rolls were good, but the sunomono sucked. It consisted of pieces of cucumber and a lilttle bit of shredded crab. The sauce was bitter andd little in amount. I would skip it. Prices are average prices I would see in another sushi place. 9-13 dollars for roll. The rolls are all beautifully made and constructed. They look very legit. The hibachi was also very popular from what I saw. Two tables full of people. We also found the best Moscato wine there. Ruffino moscato. Yummy.

Remember when everyone gushed over Nagasaki in Evansville? Well now their great chef is at Zuki. The decor at Zuki is great! It is very zen outside of the tv's on ESPN. But in Evansville you have to appease all the crowds. Dark woods and reds gave Zuki a great feel. I was there for lunch on a Saturday ... The service was spot on. The older couple near us was complaining about slow service but their waiter was very apologetic, and seemed sincere. I had the Dragon Scale Lunch Box. The soup was ok, nothing spectacular, but definitely not bad. The meal really shined when the "box" showed up at my table. The lettuce and dressing was tasty. The sushi roll with avacado was flavorful and had great texture. What really got me were the egg rolls and fried bananas. I don't like either at other restaurants, but both were wonderful here. I've only been to a few sushi places, but this one is at the top of my list. I can't comment on the Hibachi Grill

My co-workers and I went out to this sushi place and got a sushi boat. Sushi was good for Evansville, IN. I ate so much food and got so stuffed off the sushi. I didn't really care for the miso soup or salad, but the sushi surpassed my expectations for Evansville. So don't expect the greatest sushi when you dine at Zuki, but if you have a sushi craving in Evansville, IN, then I suggest you go to Zuki.

Very similar to Nagasaki Inn IMHO. The prices seemed a little lower. Our group of 5 went on a Wednesday evening and ate on the hibachi side. We were seated promptly and the service was quick. I ordered the shrmip & scallops. Portions are large, food is tasty. Our view of Office Max wasn't inspired but the interior decor is tasteful.

Love Zuki's! Food is excellent and reasonably priced. My wife is a big sushi fan and this is her favorite spot in town. I've been here 5 or 6 times and I think the owner has come to our table to check on us every time, which I love. Great experience!

Excellent sushi! Their customer service is superb. I called 10 minutes before they closed and asked if I could pick up 6 rolls and they were very kind to make them. I highly suggest it. I like it better than Nagasaki. I think they may be just a little cheaper as well.

The restaurant was clean and we were able to get a table for 6 at the hibachi grill without a wait. The service was not good at all. We waited quite sometime for a server to take our drink order. In fact a table that was sat 10 minutes after us was having their drink order taken before us. There were 6 of us and they brought out soup for 5. A simple mistake, until they did the same thing with the salad. As we just finished our salad, another server came out with salad for our table and said "oh, interesting, you already had salad." The soup and salad bowls remained on the table the entire meal. Even after we stacked them up to make a point for the server to take them away. Our drinks remained empty until we asked for refills. As for the food, it was good and the chef was great! In fact, the chef gave everyone 2 shrimp regardless of what was ordered. I thought that was a nice gesture. If the service was better, it would have been a much better experience.

Maybe we caught them during a bad time but the overall experience was poor. We were seated quickly but it took forever for the waiter to over. Once we ordered it took forever to get our meal. We ordered a couple of rolls and two bowls tempura udon. We received our udon first then our rolls. The food was ok but not great. There are better japanese restaurants in Evansville.

We make a special trip to evansville just to eat at Zuki. The sushi, the service and the atmosphere are great. So excited to hear that they are opening a new restaurant downtown!

Family favorite. Great sushi and our 9 year old LOVES the hibachi.

(3)David T.

Best sushi in eville..
(5)Jessica L.

(2)Sonya A.
Best sushi place in town. When I come to visit this I always make sure to make time for dinner at Zuki. The tropical salad and sake cocktails are to die for, the sushi and sashimi is always fantastic. Food: 5/5 Service: 3/5 - can be so spotty! Location: 4/5
(5)Roy P.
(4)Leah W.
(4)Jenna B.

(5)Melissa W.
(3)Jason T.
Excellent sushi at a reasonable price. The menu is very similar to Nagasaki in Evansville. (But cheaper.)
(5)Jessica M.
Zuki is awesome! I have never had a problem with service or food here, I'd eat here everyday if I could!
(5)Rita M.
One of my favorite places for sushi. Sometimes carry out isn't ready when they say it will be, but usually not too long after.
(4)Melissa W.
(4)Ben J.
Love Zuki's! Food is excellent and reasonably priced. My wife is a big sushi fan and this is her favorite spot in town. I've been here 5 or 6 times and I think the owner has come to our table to check on us every time, which I love. Great experience!
(5)Jenni B.
The bento boxes were superb. As another reviewer mentioned, the egg rolls were top notch. Great atmosphere, great food and service.
(5)Evan A.
Excellent sushi! Their customer service is superb. I called 10 minutes before they closed and asked if I could pick up 6 rolls and they were very kind to make them. I highly suggest it. I like it better than Nagasaki. I think they may be just a little cheaper as well.
(5)Andy R.
Had a great lunch as always there yesterday. Zuki roll is my favorite. Lunch special includes any roll, soup, salad, eggroll, and chefs appetizer. (usually bananas tempura). Staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
(5)Dan R.

I've ate at Zuki three times and the food has been great each time. I've never tried the Hibachi so I can't speak for it. Ive taken clients to Zuki and they were impressed with everything.
(4)Brian T.
