Absolute best salads in town. I'm not much of a pizza person (call me weird, I know) so I go there just for a healthy salad. They also have great beer that is brewed at the Main St. Location here in Evansville.

Best pizza ever and the service is usually good. My biggest disappointment is no delivery. :)- Turoni's can get busy on the weekends so be ready to wait at times, but it is well worth it. You can also check the bar for a quick seat. I usually order the breadsticks and a small pizza. This is plenty for two.

Being a Buffalonian we have high expectation when it comes to pizza & wings. And we should because Buffalo has the best pizza and wings ever! That being said I really wasn't to geeked about trying this place at all after we yelped it. Especially after getting there and finding out it was thin crust pizza. I mean, who likes pizza with thin crust? Boy was I wrong. This pizza was amazing. The topping selection was enormous and I actually really enjoyed the thin crust as well. The only thing that I hated about this place was the smoking. I cannot believe they allow people to smoke inside a restaurant. But still, I will definitely visit this place the next time I return. But the smoking keeps them from getting 4 stars.

The pizza was really good, and the atmosphere was excellent! I don't know why, but I found the restaurant really inviting. The staff are friendly and the BBQ chicken pizza was delicious. The best part is the BEER! We got 3 growlers to go. Excellent IPA!! Can't wait to have our Belgian Dubbel

Great pizza and excellent brews. The pizza (their Supreme) was probably one of the best pizza we've experienced outside of NJ and Manhattan. We were simply blown away by the flavor, texture and crust. Their brews are excellent. Had their Blue Eyed Moose IPA. Great flavor. Be sure to find the Blue Eyed Moose and get a picture with it. Fun location and neat inside. This is a definite stop if your in Evansville. Awesome!

Great pizza and beer. I have to admit I was surprised to find such good pizza and craft beer here, so I'm glad I followed everyone's advice by going. And unlike so many breweries that seem to think the only way to add flavor to beer is by throwing tons of hops in the mix, Turoni's only had one hoppy beer. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely go back.

Worth the wait! Great thin crust pizza and excellent beer selection, not to mention great service. This is a cool joint with a kind of casual elegant charm suitable for couples, families or, in our case, a cast of eight, ready to party. The selection of beers, and the beer sampler made the event even more enjoyable. The variety of delicious pizzas (We had 3 large ones) kept everyone diving for more. They kindly provided us extra plates, etc. for the cake we brought with us for a birthday celebration. I will definitely be back.

If you go to any pizzeria in the Evansville area, chances are that the traditional pie served is on thin crust. There are several good places, but Turoni's is consistently the best. Here's what you need to get: Garlic Cheese toast (awesome...2 orders if you have more than 3 people), Vincenzo's Masterpiece pizza and a pitcher of their in-house brew. I like the Thunderbolt Red...but if it's towards the holidays, get Rudolph's Revenge.

I accidentally walked into the bar and forgot that most states still allow smoking in the bars. The other side is the family seating. I don't think we are allowed into the brewery but you can see it from the outside! The place is dimly lit with older benches and tables and decors. Service is good and so are the prices. I ordered Vinny's Lager which is basically a Pilsner. The Iron Man was great. Pizza sauce with garlic, spinach, mozzarella cheese, artichoke hearts & mushrooms. mmmm mm. They have small, medium, and large sizes. There are also sandwiches and salads. A kiddy menu is also available.

Good place, real deal for pizza. Packed on a Saturday night so we are at the bar. Ordered house special, was awesome.

Was in Evansville for one night and wanted a simple meal. We had a great pizza at Turoni's. We had sausage on ours. It was just a tad spicy, much better than you usually find on pizza. I would have given 5* but the house wine is only so-so. Josh was our server. Did a fine job and carried on a great conversation.

Solid 4/5 stars. Slow service sometimes and the not-cheap prices stop it from being better. The pizza is almost always good and the service is hit and miss. Usually it's a hit. It's easy to spend quite a bit of money here. They're one of the best pizza places in Evansville and they know it. If you prefer thick crust or Chicago-style, you'll most likely be disappointed. If you've traveled any or are from a bigger city, then it's most likely not going to be the best pizza you've ever had.

Just walked out of Turoni's. I love Turoni's and came all the way from San Antonio to eat it again tonight. I called earlier today to make a reservation for a party of 17 and they refused and I was told "this is a big building and we have all our servers on staff so you should get a table. Good luck." We arrived this evening to a cramped waiting area and a 1.5 hour wait. Our party of 17 walked out and took our business elsewhere. Great food but incredibly rude customer service.

Having lived in Bloomington for the past two years, I have to say it's a little tough to top Mother Bear's. One thing Turoni's does have going for them, though, is the beer. We ordered the beer sampler and I was really impressed. I liked all 6 beers, even the IPA. For an appetizer we ordered bruschetta. Not at all impressed. I had run a marathon that morning and I didn't even want to finish my share. The pizza was better (fortunately). I didn't find it fantastic, but certainly good. I ordered the veggie dream pizza, which had an impressive assortment of veggies- broccoli, cauliflower, garlic, onion, olives, green pepper, maybe something else? This was good, but there was nothing about it that made me say 'wow.'

Pretty decent! I really liked the Thunderbolt beer, very strong. And I liked the pizza, not anywhere near my favorite but really good. I ordered the cheesebread because it was recommended, I was disappointed with it. While the bread was fresh, it was nothing more than a sliced baguette with a little butter and cheese. Seat yourself, bar seating available too.

I'm not a salad guy and Turonis is definitely not a salad place....but they have the best salad in Evansville called the Perfect Chef.

Not sure how I would improve my experience. Had the thin crust medium. Half house half meat. Very good. Atmosphere is great. Food is great.

Looking for a good place to eat and have a beer, I stopped in Turoni's with a coworker. Though pretty dimly lit, there is a fireplace and a few TVs in the bar area which also has tables. The beer specials are great and the number of home brews is plentiful. We got a stout (which was the Wednesday night special) and I was in heaven. The pizza is tough for me to judge. The toppings and the variety of specialty pizzas are fantastic. We shared a Hawaiian pizza and a Mexican pizza and the toppings and overall presentation of each were great. The crust, however, is really awful. It's thin (which I usually love) but very hard and flavorless. It's honestly a bit like cardboard. Overall, I'd come back because the ambiance, service, price, and menu options are all great. It's not the worst pizza I've ever had in my life, but it's not the best either.

I love pizza and I love craft beer. That means that I eat here at least once every time I am in town. Great atmosphere, great beer, and great food. Pizza toppings are great, but I will never be a cracker crust fan. BRING BACK THE DEEP DISH!!!!

Pizza is always top notch. I'm not a fan of thin crust but the way it's made here works well. If you have special diet needs (such as I did at my last visit) they were more than willing to accommodate my "hamburger with nothing but pickles and the pizza topping zucchini sauteed." I would have rather had pizza but the other items are great as well!

Evansville's only microbrewery! (Gerst isn't made in town, it's brought in from Nashville I believe.) I love the Stromboli. I love the amazingly low prices on craft beers ($3.30 for a flight of 5 or 6 samples of beer? SOLD! Also same price for one pint of the good stuff.) I prefer the Main Street location as opposed to the Weinbach location. Service sometimes leaves something to be desired, but really, most places in Evansville are like that. The pizzas are also good if you enjoy thin crust.

Terrific pizza, terrific service, terrific beer, terrific ambiance. After visiting Eville countless times, I was left with the impression that all that existed were chain restaurants (hugely popular in the area), or country clubs. Boy, was I wrong. At a chef friend's suggestion, I visited Turoni's after spending time at the local Humane Society. Turoni's was a godsend after dining too often at the chains. The service was incredibly polite, the beer was excellent, and the pizza - vegetarian - was super-fresh and delicious. I can't wait to go back! P.S. - the ambiance can't be beat. Nice and cozy, with a great touch of history. Even the menus are unique and worth going for!

stopped for dinner and a couple beers while traveling solo for business. each of the beers on the sampler flight was good, but none of them really blew me away. still, there was a good variety (pale, lager, red, stout, scottish, etc.). ordered the large Veggie Dream, and it was pretty good. thin, crispy crust, i maybe would've liked a bit more sauce, but that also might have made the crust a little soggy. good cheese and toppings (roasted garlic, olives, peppers, tomato, cauliflower, broccoli, etc.). definitely a good place for casual dinner and a couple drinks. it was fine alone, and i can imagine this being a good place for groups or families. (there's a bar side and an under-21 side.) i would consider coming back if i were in Evansville again, but i would also look around to consider another local establishment.

Stopped in during a wonderful Evansville visit with Andy P. on our road trip from Dallas to Connecticut. Definitely a great place to go, and if, like me you grew up in Suburbia, USA, here, you will feel home here. And, the menus are really cool. I'm rating the pizza a notch below Andy did because I've spent a total of about 15 minutes outside the Northeast, which means I have really high pizza standards. But, they try, they really do. I'm not a huge beer fan but they brew there own so I got one, and it was OK. So, cool place, decent pizza, go and feel at home. Ambiance: 25/25 stars Food: 15/25 stars Service: 20/25 stars Bathroom: 18/25 stars Probability of going back: 10% (I don't live in Evansville)

we went to turoni's 3 times when we visited indiana. i love it. the pizza is yummy. the poppers are great. the beer is good (though i wish it were more bubbly). sadly we only went to the one on main st once. i love it that it looks the same as when i first went there over 20 years ago. we visited the newburgh establishment twice...it lacks the patina of age and awesomeness that the main street location oozes.

Nice local brewery for southern Indiana. The pizza is meh, but the beer is good. Don't be a loser and drink bud light if you go here!

An oasis of awesomeness in a deserted downtown Evansville! Having lived in the Pizza Capital of the World, New Haven, CT, I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to amazing pizza. So I can't really give the pizza 5-stars. It just doesn't really take it to that 'next' level. That being said, this place was pretty awesome. First of all, it's both old and a brew-pub, which are two things I've never seen go together before. I don't know if it's always been a brew-pub or the brew pub was just recently added, anyway, I don't drink beer, so I didn't have any, but Randy S. said his beer was good, and it did smell good. The ambiance was awesome. It's really an American pizza place. The kind where little league teams go for pizza dinners (as was made obvious by the trophy room) and families go for a treat. I really love that vibe and this place really had it. The decor is dark and somewhat dated, but that's what gives it character. I was very impressed. So what of the food? Well we started with a salad. It's just the typical mixed salad that has the dressing in a little plastic cup on the side. Whatever, not good, fair... but that's not the point. Then the pizza came. First of all, when you live in New Haven for 4 years, you just learn to do without the small things, like complicated orders, so every time I order something like "a medium 'everything' pizza with meat on only half, and no green peppers on the meat half" I always expect it to come out with meat on 3/5 of the pizza and red peppers all over it and a surly waiter being like, 'what, you want it like it is, or you don't?'. Not so at Turoni's. Our order came out perfectly and was really tasty. The crust is mega-thin. It's really basically a cracker, but in a good way. The toppings are that sort of comfort food level toppings with very good sausage. Randy S. got veggies and I don't think a pizza joint in Evansville should really have to do veggie pizza well, but I think he thought it was 3-star. My end was 4-star. It wasn't absolutely amazing, but if I lived in Evansville, I would go all the time. It was really yummy. This is the exact kind of place you want to hit on a road trip: local, has character and is good. When we got in there I said to Randy S., "I feel like I am on top of the world."

Ho-kay, wait! I accidently reviewed the other Turoni's before I remembered that there's two locations, haha. Either way, they're both great. This one, however, is the one we went to the most growing up in Evansville. We'd get hot dogs and chili in little cups or pizza or the fugdge brownies. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. This place was part of my childhood and I wish I could find something equally as good out here in Arizona.

I would rate this pizza up there with any pizza. The house special is something really special. If you're looking for a great micro-brew and great pizza??? Turoni's should be your destination! The Honey Blond Ale is the bomb!

The atmosphere is old world and employees were terrific and the food was top notch. The hamburger was one the best. Wife had a small pizza which she loved.Their beer selection is excellent. The place to sides one for families and the brewery side. Check their website for the beer selection and descriptions.

After a long drive from Florida we were super hungry and because we tried to go to Turoni's last time we were up and it was SUPER busy on a Saturday night, we gathered the family up and decided to head across the bridge to Evansville. We were all in the mood for pizza (surprise! It's a pizza place) and it was great how easy it was to order the different toppings we wanted. We even split pizzas and got exactly what we wanted on each side. Boom, easy enough. The beers that we tried were really good. The service was good, our waiter seemed to stay out of the way quite a bit, which was nice and then was there when we wanted him to be. Only reason it's not 4 stars is because, in all honesty, I've had better pizza. BUT it was good pizza!

If you find yourself in Evansville and hungry for pizza, you've got two options (other than chains of course). Lucky for you, they are both great options! Head over to the Deerhead for regular/pan style crust. But if it's thin crust you're in need of, Turoni's is the spot! I used to love coming into the dark-wood encircled confines of the Turoni's bar on random weekday afternoons. I'd sit and read and get work done all while enjoying some of the best local thin crust pizza I've had. Also a good selection of brewed-on-site beer for you to enjoy. Plenty of signature pizzas to choose from - all are delicious! And you can of course make your own special concoction if you prefer. Definitely stop in and give it a try.

I'd give this place 4+stars if I was waaay into pizza. Don't hate - not all of you are waaay into sushi right? But I do partake often enough because the BF can eat pizza on a daily basis. So where did they take me when we went to his hometown? Yes, ding ding ding, you won a prize! If I was going to consume a piece of pie, I'd go for the works... load 'em up boys! But the BF doesn't eat meat *sigh*. The veggie pie was quite good actually. Nice thin crust, sauce had good flavor... and um... the veggies were plentiful!? *lol* Love the hometown family feel of the place. Even tasted a variety of their hops, but I'm more of a gin martini gal! Sorry to disappoint beer & pie peeps!!

one of my favorite pizza places of all time. i visit evansville once a year, for about a week, and probably eat here atleast 3 times during that week. this location is the original one, and it's awesome inside. lots of character. i'm originally from this neighborhood, and this place hasn't changed a bit. MMMMmmmmm.......

Turonis is the best pizza in Evansville. The Main Street location is a better atmosphere than the Weinbach with the brewery inside, but the pizza is the same either place. The cheezees and deluxe pizza rock.

Probably best local spot in Evansville. Pizza is excellent. Great selection of craft brews, some of which are brewed in house. It is divided into two areas, bar and family area, so it has something for everyone.

Pros: Authentic pizza, unique craft beers, cool atmosphere Cons: service can be slow when busy This is a pizza place that lives up to all the hype surrounding it. I've never had a pizza here that I didn't enjoy. My favorite beer is the Thunderbolt Red Ale, a very malty beer. If you only get to go to one pizza place in Evansville, go here!

I've come to Evansville 3 times now on work, and this is the only half-decent place in this entire depressing town where I feel like I am in a big city. The pizza is slightly expensive, but worth the price. Their beers are nice, depending on what they have on tap. I'd highly recommend it. In fact, I'd stay here if they'd let me.

Very good pizza! It's as close to a five as I can give because it's almost as good as my favorite pizza place in all the country (Beau Jo's) in Idaho Springs, Colorado.

What a great place. Old building with classic thick wood, speakeasy style hiding booth areas and a brewery! Can't get any better than this. We went to watch the UofL game there and ran into a wonderful crowd. Lots of great people and friendly staff. Plus great beer.

Love this place! I've eaten here and the Gerst House every visit to Evansville. Love the atmosphere and the pizza is amazing. Ordered a meat laden pizza and came very close to getting the meat sweats! LOL They also have a good variety of beer as well.

Pizza is good! I got the Turoni's House special pizza in small size just for me. It is delicious. Flat and crispy crust. I recommend this place! The atmosphere is casual and they serve beer and wine and mixed cocktails. My coworker and I have been here a couple of times and last time she got a beer flight to try out a few different brews. They have a bar area and a separate family area. The best part is if you want order and take it home they got a drive thru!!!! Love it!

I was looking for some variety of craft beer and I came across Turoni's so I thought I'd check it out. We stopped in on a pretty busy night and opted to sit at the bar. The restaurant is divided into the family area and bar area so whatever your preference is you can choose. The bar room has bar seating and table seating which you have to wait to be seated at as in the restaurant side. Sitting at the bar was enjoyable, the bartender and other patrons were friendly and we enjoyed conversations with them. We ordered some poppers and one of the vast selection of pizzas and enjoyed both very much. The poppers were flavorful and not too spicy at all. The pizza was prepared on a super thin crust with fresh ingredients and was also excellent. For the beer I went for the double IPA and my wife had the traditional blond. Both were good and a nice change from the more commercial brews. I've had some better craft beer but these were good and enjoyable.

Incredible pizza and cheese toast in a relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of great food and beer options, all at reasonable pricing. Open tables are a bit too close to each other in some areas, otherwise I have no complaints!

I have visited Turoni's many times. Most locals rave about it, so when you are going as a group, you end up in places like this. Location: Old, needs updating, uneven flooring, small dirty bathrooms. Wait Staff: Hard working, pleasant and willing to serve. Food: If I were to rate Turoni's fairly, I would say it is one inline with frozen pizza. There are a fair amount of good frozen pizzas. However, this one isn't one of them. No one really does toppings poorly, so this place' pizza FAILS at taste for the dough and sauce. The dough is similar to card board and the sauce is bland at best. Recommendation: Go to "The Slice", its far better. The only reason this place gets two stars is because of the hard working staff.

This place is ok, unsure if they used home made crust kind of felt like frozen pizza, with extra toppings on it

Turoni's might get a little bit of a biased review from me because it generates some nostalgia as it was always the place my family went if we ever made it out for a big night in Evansville. I've been out of the area for almost 10 years now, but it's still on my list of places I try to get back to when I am in town. Of the different locations, I think that this is my favorite. There is a parking lot next to the building so that is made easy. If it does ever fill up, there is also some street parking out front, and we have always found that the bank across the street doesn't seem to mind if people borrow a parking spot while getting dinner. The inside is a little on the darker side with a lot of big thick wooden tables and booths along with some brick and interesting wall decorations. It gives the feel of an older tavern type place, and is a nice atmosphere to go fill up in. It just has a lot of character that is hard to find at newer establishments. Aside from just checking out the interesting decorations, you can also see some of the brewing equipment from certain areas of the restaurant, which is always neat to check out. This is a pizza place and brewery, and there isn't much of a better combination than eating pizza and drinking beer that are both made under the same roof that you are sitting under. The pizza is a thin crust variety, but crispy enough that you can pick up their party cut slices without them falling apart. They go heavy on the cheese, but they aren't always the most generous with ingredients compared to some other pizza joints, although they do make up for that in quality. My favorite thing to get as a topping here is their fresh ground Italian sausage. It's delicious. They also have some not so common offerings like fresh cauliflower, zucchini, and even artichoke hearts. The beer definitely has some winners in the lineup. I haven't had anything bad here, but there are some safe offerings that won't blow you away. The one that stands out to me as my clear favorite is their Blue Eyed Moose IPA. They also have a good red ale, a tasty stout, and the Rudolph's Revenge Belgian was a delicious season that was available on my last visit. Maybe Indy prices have skewed my perception, but the prices here for a good craft microbrew were fantastic. A pint was only $3.75, and that wasn't factoring in the specials that they run during the week. I went straight for their sampler option, which had 3 oz samples of all 5 of their regular lineup of beers, and they even brought out an extra sample of the seasonal that they had, all for the same $3.75 price. I wish I would have had my growlers with me to fill up a couple to take home. I've always had good friendly service here, and they stay open later than a lot of the other options around. If you are in Evansville and looking for a good friendly place to take a group for dinner, this will certainly satisfy your needs. If you are just looking for some beers, definitely check out their bar area and taste what their brew master has to offer.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Absolute best salads in town. I'm not much of a pizza person (call me weird, I know) so I go there just for a healthy salad. They also have great beer that is brewed at the Main St. Location here in Evansville.

I love this place! Special brews and amazing pizza make this place worth it! Great atmosphere. The pepper planet pizza is delicious!
(5)William S.
I'm not a salad guy and Turonis is definitely not a salad place....but they have the best salad in Evansville called the Perfect Chef.

Not sure how I would improve my experience. Had the thin crust medium. Half house half meat. Very good. Atmosphere is great. Food is great.

Good beer, great pizza, will definitely come back when in the area. You should go here to if you want tasty pizza and good suds to wash it down :)

(5)Erin F.

(5)Paige E.
Nice local brewery for southern Indiana. The pizza is meh, but the beer is good. Don't be a loser and drink bud light if you go here!
(4)Jeff S.
Best thin-crust pizza I've had since moving to Evansville. Wide variety of toppings, great casual atmosphere, lots of charm and character in this location.
(5)Andy P.

(5)Lenny H.
I would rate this pizza up there with any pizza. The house special is something really special. If you're looking for a great micro-brew and great pizza??? Turoni's should be your destination! The Honey Blond Ale is the bomb!
(4)Ivan W.

(3)Andrea Z.

If you have never eaten here, you must go.. Outstanding pizza, great service, and AMAZING beer! Honey blonde to specific. Can't go wrong with it
(5)Miss J.

(5)Justin W.
Turonis is the best pizza in Evansville. The Main Street location is a better atmosphere than the Weinbach with the brewery inside, but the pizza is the same either place. The cheezees and deluxe pizza rock.
(5)Todd J.
Probably best local spot in Evansville. Pizza is excellent. Great selection of craft brews, some of which are brewed in house. It is divided into two areas, bar and family area, so it has something for everyone.
(4)Kelli R.
(5)Andrew R.
Pizza is a little expensive, But I'd say it's worth it!
(5)Ashwin M.
(4)Kerry J.
Very good pizza! It's as close to a five as I can give because it's almost as good as my favorite pizza place in all the country (Beau Jo's) in Idaho Springs, Colorado.
(4)Kat O.
What a great place. Old building with classic thick wood, speakeasy style hiding booth areas and a brewery! Can't get any better than this. We went to watch the UofL game there and ran into a wonderful crowd. Lots of great people and friendly staff. Plus great beer.
(5)Allison C.
Very good pizza! I enjoy my meal everyone I go! The only problem is that they are almost always busy. I have has to wait an hour just to get a table
(4)Shawn H.
Love this place! I've eaten here and the Gerst House every visit to Evansville. Love the atmosphere and the pizza is amazing. Ordered a meat laden pizza and came very close to getting the meat sweats! LOL They also have a good variety of beer as well.
(5)Pamela V.

(5)Josh R.
Incredible pizza and cheese toast in a relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of great food and beer options, all at reasonable pricing. Open tables are a bit too close to each other in some areas, otherwise I have no complaints!
(4)Jason C.
Great pizza. Been coming here for 25 years. The house special is excellent. Haven't come across a pizza quite like it anywhere else. Service is good. I come back every time I return to Evansville!

(2)Chowdry P.
This place is ok, unsure if they used home made crust kind of felt like frozen pizza, with extra toppings on it
(3)Bethney A.
Great beer, great pizza, great service. What more could you want?
(5)Dylan E.
