Beer was good, pils was the best. However you are required to stand and wait in line for about 1 hr for food so nobody is drinking much, and all the while the waitresses walk around bored. You must also wait outside in cold because they are at capacity, while there are empty tables inside. Has Potential but management needs to make some changes...

This is one of my favorite places in town to get a drink. Their recently changed menu offers lots of unique items. The staff is awesome, and so is the beer.

Tin man did a 360 degree turnaround!!! Food and service is great, chef really knows what he's doing. Try the alloy chicken or chicken pot pie, you'll thank me!!! Beer is good w/ quite a variety- I loved the ipa and my husband the pilsner.
(5)Chad F.
I really liked the atmosphere and Our service was good, however, when ordering, 4 of 7 meat choices as well as sides were sold out. What we did have, beef brisket and burnt ends were good. Liked the different sauces. We'll be back after a while, but hope the next time they have more food choices available. Also, liked that they have weekly Walking Dead watching party.

My first time at this place was really great experience! I heard when they first opened there were some problems with service and menu, well they definately straightened things out. I had the pilsner with nitrogen smooth beer, had shrimp and grits for my meal and my wife had salmon blt, both were delicious. Servers were friendly, nice environment. I will definately be dining here as often as I can.
(5)Joanne D.
Great craft beer. Good battered fish and chips. Black bean burger was way too salty. Ask to salt your food yourself.
(4)Jason B.
My wife and I stopped in here to sample the craft beer and enjoyed our visit. We sat at the bar and talked with some of the staff while drinking our beer. They were friendly and informative and the craft beer was good. We didn;t have the food this trip but will definitely stop by again and try it out.

My wife and I had a great time. It was kind of quiet for a Friday night (I think, we're from out of town) but it was very comfortable. It felt very much like a nice restaurant. The food was fantastic and our server was very friendly. The beers were great! They had 7 of their own beers and 2 guest taps. We even bought a T-shirt! I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone who loves good food and great beer. (Especially the Alloy Ale)
(4)Jesse S.
Slow to start well but they seem to have it together now. Every time I go now the food and beer is top notch. If you tried it in the beginning and didn't like it, give them another shot. They have made vast improvements since opening.

Our family decided to give Tin Man a try after hearing positive feedback from a coworker and our neighbors. Before our visit we tried to look at the menu on their website, but we had some difficulty finding it. (If you look under the tasting room page, there is a link for a PDF menu.) We saw pictures of pizzas on their facebook page, but never saw them on the menu. Not sure what is with that, but judging from the menu and the pictures Tin Man must change their menu constantly or have lots of specials. Regardless, the gastropub menu had several items that sounded really good and we decided to visit on a Saturday night. We arrived early because we have a small child. The service was good and the food was promptly served. The server took time to go over the beers and answer questions. He was going to offer a sample of the "Circuit" beer to my father, but came back five minutes later with a full pint (which he was charged for, the only serious hiccup of the experience). For an appetizer, we ordered the pork belly skewers. They were decent, but next time we might order something a little more substantial. For entrees, three of us ordered the Manhattan. The portion was a little on the small side, but was acceptable. The meat was tender and the mashed potatoes were full of flavor. I had a side of mac & cheese with the Manhattan. The mac & cheese was good, but had too many crumbs drizzled on it. My father had the salmon, which was excellent. However, the serving of vegetables that accompanied the salmon was a little stingy, almost like a garnish. My wife had the chicken and waffle sandwich and it was amazing, clearly the hero of the night. Our child had fettuccine alfredo with fries. The fettuccine was good. The friends were good ok, but a little too plain for a gastropub. Fries with some seasoning or skin on them would have been better. A few of us looked at the "build your own burger", but by the time you pay for cheese, a topping, and sauce(s) it's a fairly expensive burger. We also tried a flight of the house beers. Everything was good, but nothing special that I'd seek out. The "Rivet" was my favorite. The "Dry Cell" was good as well, if you like stout beers. There was a little more balance and sweetness than a Guinness. The clientele was young and trendy, but the place is a little expensive to be overwhelmed with the college crowd. Bottom Line: Good food and trendy atmosphere. If you're into trying craft beers this might be your place. Nothing was bad about the place, but other than the chicken & waffle sandwich, you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere.
(3)Kat O.
Tin Man not only has great beer, but great food! The wings are excellent. The steak was perfect. And the beer! Irish Red Ale is still my favorite, even though I tried to try them all.
(5)Alicia H.
If I could give zero stars I would. We came in at 5:00 and were told they didn't have any tables for our group of 4 adults and 4 kids even though 1/2 the dining room was open. If they don't allow kids fine, but post a sign or let people know upfront. Saying they have no room when they clearly do is just ridiculous. The hostess was completely rude and unprofessional.
(1)Benjaman G.
This place has personality like none other. Huge fan of their food too. If you go, make sure you take a tour of the place. Definitely worth it.
(5)Sam M.
Beer is great, food is great and atmosphere is amazing. The location is extremely convenient and the building is beautiful. If you're used to ordering hot dogs and a Budweiser, go somewhere else but if you're looking for an award winning craft beer at a decent price and healthy, delicious food, look no further. The only complaint I have is that the vegetable medly kinda looks like a can of peas and carrots was dumped into a bowl but everything else I've had there was great and I go once a week for the delicious beer.

This one is tough, because the beer and the food are NOT on the same playing field. There's no doubt that I drove down to Evansville for the beer. Things between the Damascene Apricot Sour and I have gotten pretty serious, so it was time to meet the whole Tin Man Family. I joyfully welcomed each member of the beer family as I knocked out the seasonal flight. The Megawitt (Belgian Wit), Wired (White IPA), and Csar (Russian Imperial Stout) were all exceptional and well-crafted, and my love for Damascene was stronger than ever. I could not have been happier with the Tin Man Clan. 5 Stars hands down. ...but then there's the food. I can tell that Tin Man tried really, really hard with their dishes, and separately, certain components are great on their own...but when you put them together, they miss the mark. For example, I hesitated with my Pork Belly + Fried Green Tomato Sandwich on a cornbread waffle, because pork belly is a tricky protein. It has to have that crispy outside with an oozy, fatty inside. On this sandwich, it was flimsy bacon at best. There was a mayo-based coleslaw wedged in the sandwich too. It was tasty on its own, but it overpowered the sandwich with its creamy dense base, making me think that this was supposed to be the star of the sandwich. If anyone should have been the star, it should have been that cornbread waffle. That crispy "bread" holding everything together was pretty stellar, and I'd like the recipe please. If I were to remake that sandwich, I would replace the pork belly with some BBQ pulled pork and go easy on that 'slaw. Unfortunately, my feelings on the other items we ordered--pretzel bread + queso, house-seasoned chips, burger--are exactly the same as my pork belly sandwich. I don't want to talk about it. It only makes me sad. I'm so sorry, Tin Man. I love your beer...but I don't feel the same way about your food. I hope we can still be friends.
(3)Pete F.
Lets start with what matters the BEER!!! Well it was very good, I tried 7 beers and they were all worthy of a pint or two. If you like beer and are in the area stop in and have a few. Atmosphere is very nice. Inviting and very well did. The Robot/Tin Man is cool and every kid that walks in runs up to see it and loves it. When it comes to the food I only had 3 of the appetizers. The wings were really good not greasy and just the right amount of sauce. The bread sticks and quesadilla were good, but go for the wings.
(4)slim s.
Average brew pub at best. Server was unengaged. Beers were generic. Irish red tasted the best out of them all. Burger special was okay. But charging for mayo, bbq sauce and other sauces, really? I understand they cost money, but they are the price of being a "good" restaurant over a mediocre one.
(2)Alison P.
Great place, had lunch and very tasty chicken sandwich (you can customize the sandwich to your liking!). Reasonably priced and very cool atmosphere! Looking forward to coming back for happy hour and enjoying some beer!
(4)Jen N.
Had dinner and drinks here last weekend and it was great! The beer was fantastic, we had a flight of their top five beers before settling on a wheat beer, but their IPA was so very good too! They have a new food menu, not the barbecue place anymore, so check it out! You'll be glad you did!!

I have to say when this place opened I couldn't wait to be there. We have needed a local brewery for a long time now and Tin Man was going to be "it" in my mind. Unfortunately the beer is lacking. I know it's hard to brew good beer, my husband has been brewing since 2004. I expected their beer to be better and I was extremely disappointed. So.... After they changed their menu, we went back, because they featured a grass-fed burger which is important to me. It was good. We came back a couple more times for the burger. A couple Saturdays ago we went again, I asked as I always do if the beef for the burger was grass fed. Two different people said yes. I was surprised at this answer because they changed their supplier from Mumford Farms to Dewig meats and I know Dewigs isn't grass-fed. So I called Dewigs the next day and sure enough they NO LONGER supply them with grass-fed ground beef. I was lied to and still paid the price as before!! Never again. Goodbye Tin Man. Back to my dream of a Brewery coming to Evansville.
(2)Rob M.
I'm from out of town so i have am unbiased view. Don't waste your time or money. The food was hot, the house chips were unseasoned (barely salted.) They charge for mayo or BBQ sauce or other condiments The house beers are mediocre at best. The waiter was more interested in who was coming in vs who was seated in front of him. Go to Turoni's, it's far better.

I was very impressed to see Tin Man Brewing Co. make the trek up to Westfield to present at Yelp's 10 Minute Talks. If that isn't dedication and commitment to the community then I don't know what is! The first beer I tasted was the Apricot Sour. For those who have never tried a sour, this is a great start because its not strong by any means. Next on the list was the Circuit Pilsner. Mild flavor and crisp. Another good intro beer for the newbies Our final beer was their seasonal - Klingon Warnog Roggen Dunkel. Rye malt and toasty flavors and a bit of clove. I really enjoyed this beer!
(4)Jenny W.
Love Tim man. We like to time our visit so we can spend some time hanging out and not fighting a crowd. On our last visit we had salad and the grilled cheese of the day. All we can say is YUM. The only drawback was our ice tea kind of had a slight hint of onion. We chalked it up to herbs! Definitely will go back to Tim man!
(4)Deborah S.
The burgers were fine, but the service was bad. Waitress never came by to refill drinks or to see if we needed anything. Really deserves 21/2 stars.
(3)Josh F.
Highly overpriced. the staff was more concerned with their phones than customers. And the way too expensive hamburger was served on a 10 cent bun from the bakery around the corner.
(1)Betty W.
We stopped in for lunch on Mother's Day. All of the wait staff were attentive and friendly (3 servers attended our table). Hubby and I both ordered sandwiches which were delicious and huge (we ate half and took the other half home for supper). We shared a beer flight and then settled on our ale and stout. Good beer, good food, good service......you can't ask for much more.

You better believe I drove 2.5hrs to Evansville just to try the beers at this fine brewery. It is with great pleasure that I have nothing but smiles and high fives to dish out after my experience. First off, i was sure to check out their website, which provided me with some much needed info such as beer ingredients. Being allergic to wheat and corn (among other things) means I have to be extra careful in my research before I even visit a place of business with food and/or drinks. With that said, Tin Man not only clearly provided their beer ingredients, but also had a Gluten Free menu! Heaven. Does. Exist. After reading through all the beers and the menu extensively (and drooling uncontrollably) I knew what I would order weeks before I set foot in there. First up I went for the beer flight. Our lovely bartender(s) treated us so well and even let us try some of their specialty beers not included in the flight. With the exception of 2 that i could not try because they contained wheat, there wasn't a beer I didn't like. If anything, I fell in love! Now, with much needed food, I dove into the Pork Belly Skewers appetizer with sweet & spicy orange glaze and sorghum on the side for dipping (think of a honey and maple syrup mix!) and the Wedge Salad- perfect portions of tomatoes, bacon and bleu cheese crumbles. After a great four hour experience, we bid them goodnight, but we already knew we'd come back for lunch. I went for the burger served on bib lettuce and I added bleu cheese (i'm obsessed), bacon (do you see a pattern yet?), an egg, and spicy buffalo sauce. As a side I chose the house salad with blue cheese dressing (I'm already getting moldy eating so much of this). Although I didn't taste the thin layer of cheese at all, the rest did not disappoint. With such a generous portion, which could have been easily shared between two people, I ate ever last bit of that burger and washed it down with a few pints. Needless to say, clean eating starts now. Also to note: Tin Man will fill growlers and have 4pk cans available to take home as well! And oh yes, I surely did! Cheers!

5 star beer, 2 star food. But admittedly I did not come for the food. With decent pub grub, they would be a 4.5 to 5 star. Nicely decorated modern brew pub. I had the cheese sandwich of the night ( had spinach and other toppings) , made on a panini maker, not enough toppings in the middle, when you pulled the sandwich apart no melted cheese effect. For 7.50 I think its fair to have a good cheese sandwich. Sandwich was dry, felt like it was made on panini maker 3 hours earleir and reheated in microwave. Had the soup of the day which was "steak sandwich soup", $6 dont quote on exactly what it was called but this was the general idea, interesting flavor profile, but had the consistency of mashed potatoes and not soup. Now for the highlight, I had a pint of Overlord IPA 9%. If you decide to have the overlord, make sure you have a designated driver. I did not, but luckily I had my ipad, and sat at the bar watching a basketball game for an extra hour.

Atmosphere is very nice. Building is a remodeled historic property & they did a great job. Of the beers I have sampled, several are quite good. Depending on who you talk to, the staff is knowledgeable & can steer you towards beers you'll like. Service: We sat at the bar on a quiet Tuesday evening & the service was almost aggressively bad. As in they really didn't want to wait on us & didn't care if we knew that. Thankfully a regular sitting a few stools away got a bartenders attention after a while so we could get served. We abandoned any ideas of getting an appetizer after that bartender showed his displeasure at our presence. He yelled for someone else to talk to us after not saying a word to us. The girl that waited on us was nice but only checked on us once & I would have drank more beer & ate if I was asked. I had to go find the hostess & ask to get our change after waiting with our check for 15 minutes. This is with us sitting at the bar! We've been to TinMan a handful of times & the food was pretty good & service was decent when we sat at a table, but the few times we've been at the bar have been met with the same disinterested - really just rude - service. I keep going back every few months because the place really has great potential & I keep hoping they start caring about customer experience. To be fair, Tin Man is a brewery first & restaurant/bar last so the wait staff is probably not a priority. But it's a shame such a nice place is wasted. There are several more welcoming places on Franklin Street that will earn our business until they do figure out the customer service angle. Hopefully they will before I try again in a few months.

One of my favorite places to go in Evansville, In. Service is always friendly and accommodating. Beer is very good. Really like the variety of brews they offer. They have growler specials too for beer on the go! Food is good too! I would highly recommend stopping in here for a beer and some appetizers!
(5)Cheryl M.
Finally!!! An impressive brewery in Southern Indiana! Thank you Tin Man, you're taking me home to the west coast where the breweries are top notch, industrial eateries for microbrew lovers!! The beers are impressive as is the menu of food options. I was incredibly impressed since there aren't many restaurants with menu items even close to this type of eating within a 50 mile radius. The food was AH-MAY-ZING and the service was professional and friendly. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable not only on the history of Tin Man, answering our multiple questions, but also on the types of beer, their ABV, style, flavorings and more. Pretty impressive. We didn't have much time on our first visit, but we will certainly be back and I will update my review as to the types of brew, more specific menu items and other very cool things they offer...like LIVE MUSIC!!!

Lived in Evansville for many years and I love when a great independent restaurant opens and serves really good food. I think this place has found it's niche. I have been here a handful of times and the food is consistently good and stands apart from the chain restaurants that litter Evansville. The beer is great too. On a side note, I really like the identity too (graphics, ambiance) all tie together. However the whole industrial feel, leaves the restaurant feeling "cold". If you don;t mind that, give this place a try at least once.
(4)Mike G.
This is a two-star review - "Meh, I've experienced better" - because of service issues. I wasn't charged for my burger, so they did compensate for their issues. But we had to ask for this. It wasn't offered. The problems: I ordered a burger, medium rare, received it well done, and sent it back. It took a very long time to get the replacement burger. My wife had long ago finished her meal by the time I got my replacement. The second burger was cooked as I wanted it - but they had run out of buns so they served it on sourdough bread. The burger itself was tasty. Our fried-green-tomato appetizer was tasty. My wife's Cuban sandwich, while not traditional, was nonetheless very good. Our sides were good. The server was pleasant and apologetic. So, while many things were done well, the original error, compounded by the very long wait, made the experience long and unpleasant. Because there are so few locally owned restaurants in Evansville, we probably will try Tin Man again. I hope they can get their act together.
(2)Eric J.
I love that we have a brewery in town and it has the coolest atmosphere, I really like the beer there and their service had gotten better. I gave it three stars because their food quality has gone down since their last chef. The Manhattan has toast instead of garlic bread, the chicken and waffle was burnt twice, the mac n cheese was gooy truffle Mac and now it dried mac casserole and their Cuban use to be the my favorite, but now it is boring. That being said there are some good new things but I usually get hot wings and tater bots.
(3)Addison C.
Great BBQ and Craft Beer wrapped in a fresh and modern package! This place is everything I'd hoped it would be! I'm not a beer drinker, but I ordered the beer flight and enjoyed everything I tried. None of the beer was strong or overpowering, and the nitrogenated beer is the smoothest you will ever drink. My personal favorite was the Irish Red. The BBQ is well seasoned and you have several sauces to choose from. I used the Orange and loved it. The building is an old warehouse/shop that has been fully converted to house both the brewery and the restaurant. The brick atmosphere and decor are amazing without being flashy or dated. It is a cafeteria style restaurant, so you order your barbecue and beer at the counter, then pick up your food when your number is called. Prices are reasonable and the menu is well executed. My only warning is do not expect any major names when it comes to beer or soda. This place is very non-commercial, and I find that to be the best part. I strongly suggest that you take your entire family to this amazing micro-brewery. It's exciting to see Evansville finally get something new in the way of restaurants. Keep it up Tin Man, because I'm expecting you to be around for a long time! p.s. I saw that a fellow reviewer had to wait outside in the cold. Did you really expect to walk right up to the counter without a line on the weekend of the grand opening? The place had 12,000 customers in its first 72 hours. Don't complain when a business refuses to create a fire hazard just so you can stay warm.

Rough time dining at Tin Man Brewing. Really excited about the interesting gastropub menu. But, it might be too lofty. I recommend sticking with the soups, salads, and sandwiches for now. Had the pommes frites (fries) for an appetizer. A few soggy ones, but decent overall. Then we ordered the sea bass and the flank steak. Sea bass came in a strange little bowl. Different, but fish as this probably should be on a plate. Realized something wasn't quite right when the knife hit the fish. Rather than that solid, flaky consistency fresh fish should have, there was a lot of give to this piece. Didn't taste quite right and by the third fork my wife took a look and recommended I halt. A close sniff revealed this fish had ever so slightly turned. Flank steak was better; sides were not. couscous was runny, and the root vegetables were chewy (out of season?). Everything tasted like it had just come from a microwave rather than a hot skillet and saucepan. Whether it is storage, preparation, or food source, something just wasn't quite right with our dinner. This was confirmed when we were comped for the fish with a highly recommended dessert. Looked nice, but rather than flaky, chewy and warm it was more like two day old doughnut with sugar. A rough food review, but the space is fresh and inviting. Service was generous and the beer is original. Tin Man has a lot of promise. Might have just had a bad night in the kitchen. Careful tasting and isolating the problem will solve it.

Came here on a recent rainy night and sat at the bar. It was burger night and we also were in time for half-priced apps. Started with a salmon and corn cake appetizer. It was wonderful. Burgers on offer included a portabella served in a bun, one of our faves. My wife ordered that, while I opted for a traditional cheeseburger. Mine was despoiled with onions, which I had specifically asked to be omitted, but the situation was immediately corrected. Some very nice fries came with the sandwiches. The food was excellent. Burger was cooked as I had asked with a hint of pink. The beer was very tasty, with a wide range of styles, bitterness and ABV. Service was prompt and pleasant. It was a nice experience.

If you were turned off by the food when Gunslinger's BBQ was running things, the new menu is fantastic. I absolutely loved the Alloy Chicken! The chicken had a terrific smoked flavor that was enhanced greatly by the curry topping, which had a kick that is rarely found in the bland fare common to Evansville. My son had the brisket sandwich and was only disappointed that he had to fend off the rest of us from stealing pieces. My wife also greatly enjoyed the Beef Manhattan. My youngest son had the pizza off the kids' menu anad enjoyed it, but wasn't quite filled. The only downside to the menu is that it is quite a bit more expensive than the BBQ. With three adult entrees and one child entree, our bill was well over $50. The food quality was well worth the price, but if you're going in expecting the typical pub fare, you might have a little sticker shock. However, the foodie who actually likes a bit of flavor and is looking for something a bit outside of the norm for Evansville, you would do well to give Tin Man's new menu a try!

I am excited at the increase in craft breweries in Evansville. This was my first visit to Tin Man, and I really liked it. The location and building are very cool. I really enjoy the product design and look of the facilities. It was better than some of the places here in Indy. There is plenty of seating and lots of space. The staff was very friendly and seemed to love the beer they were slinging. I enjoyed the Alloy and Circuit. I recommend a flight tasting first. None of the beers really stood out, but all were good and I stopped to pick up a few at the grocery store for later. They do growler fills thru the week and sell the cans on Sunday. I didn't try any food, but it looked like they had many southern Indiana items on the menu. I will definitely return.
(4)Jess N.
The food is hardly worth the trip. The best tasting item on the menu is the parmesan tater tots which are quite good. Everything else is mediocre at best, including the beer. I heard they improved the beer which is somewhat true but it's still just okay. I'm hoping this place will continue to get better because it's a very cool spot and very necessary in Evansville.
(2)Mitchell C.
Excellent place! Im not much of a microbrew person but the beer is good. The food was top notch. The hamburger is expensive but worth every penny. I cant wait to go back. The only concern is the place is small so I would recommend going during off hours.
(5)Lauren R.
I didn't have the beer, (a few others in our party did) but I did have the food. The concept is good, but the execution might need to be worked on. Overall, the food is great BBQ. The burnt ends were delicious. The standard sauce is pretty tasty as well. When we ordered, we were asked which sauces we would like. When our food was brought to us, everyone's sauces were mixed up and we didn't get nearly enough of the ones we asked for. They did bring us more when we asked, but this seems like a step we could have skipped. I liked that the side and vegetable of the day are changed. All of the staff is extremely friendly, polite, and helpful. Some things that could improve with time are, the drink selection for non-alcoholic beverages (there are tea and bottled sodas), and making the transition between beer ordering and food ordering a little easier. While I didn't have the beer, they did have a bit of trouble getting our four samplers ready. I would give this place another try, but it would be more enjoyable if some things were worked out.
(3)Dwinn C.
They had me at "french pressed coffee." Food is different and fresh, always something funky from which to choose. Service is spotty, atmosphere is casual and interesting. Not a beer drinker, so I'm sure I'm missing out on that experience - but I'll be back for sure.
(4)Kevin R.
Fantastic beer. Good food. I Did a beer flight and the clear stand out was the Overload imperial IPA. If you like IPAs this one rules! Chili was awesome. Salmon blt sounded great but was just good. Needed more condiment of some kind. Still not bad. Overall experience was A+. Loved the flavors and atmosphere and Lauren the bar tender was perfect in terms of being present but not overbearing. Ill be back.
(5)Tom M.
Absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had. I have traveled around the world and have had some bad experiences, but this place takes first place in bad. Menu: awful. Beverages: drink only beer (which is mediocre at best) because the wine selection is among the absolute worst I've ever seen (Indiana wines only? Really? Given its such a great wine producing region.) and no hard alcohol. Service: was there for and hour after ordering main course and nothing showed up. Excuse: they weren't expecting to be so busy. Hmmmm. Aren't they in the food service business? Avoid this place. Even in Evansville there are plenty of better options. And that is saying lot. It's Evansville.
(1)Amy R.
Great beer! Sour apricot ale is my fave. Super friendly staff! My brother swears by their food but I didnt have time to try it. They have refillable growlers for sale so you can take your favorite local Evansville beer home with you!
(5)Andrew C.
Tried all of the beers. I don't know; they were all ok. Nothing really stood out. The beer was not flavorful, it was not what I am used to out of a local craft brewery. It honestly feels like Tin Man knows the audience it has in Evansville, an audience that may not be familiar with craft beer. As such, Tin Man played it safe with the beer. Or so it seems. I dig the staff, I dig the building, and I dig the potential a place like Tin Man has. I hope they get braver with the beer in the future.
(2)Michael A.
Tin Man is nothing short of amazing. They are constantly adapting to their audience. It is like when your phone needs an update, Tin Man runs just as smoothly with their updates. They just started having live music on Tuesdays, new beers every friday, new beers on their one to many series. If you haven't been to Tin Man yet, its about that time. Check out more about Tin Man at my blog. Wrote about my experience and a little more about the Brewery. bit.ly/1cafH0e
(5)Brian W.
A great find in an area I did not expect to find a craft brewer let alone one this good. Food was great ( get the Mac and cheese) and the beef manhattan. Beer lineup? Decent selection of your standard lineup- IPA's, DIPA, BIPA, Pilsner etc. Stop reading and start heading their way.
(5)Angel S.
I'm being generous with two stars, but with some improvements I see potential. Add servers - the line for a beer was 10 people deep at all times - you have to fill your own water from the water fountain in the back Add real plates and cutlery - an $11 sandwich justifies it - if you talk about being green on the menu, be green in the restaurant with less waste Food was decent, but this place needs some work.
(2)Justin S.
Beer was good for a brewery in Evansville. Smothered chicken was good. Friend had the burger and would recommend different buns for the burgers.
(4)Phx A.
I would give the place 3.5 stars. Went there for lunch. Had the lunch special for $5, which was a chorizo, pepper, and cheese sandwich. It and the mac and cheese (you pick a side) were alright. Sandwich could have been better if the chorizo was spicy...I'll get something else next time. Service was good. Rest of menu had some good stuff but definitely pricier ($10+). Cool industrial vibe and it's different, something that you wouldn't expect from Evansville. They were out of a couple of things, salmon being one and sauer kraut the other. I felt bad for my buddy who wanted the pastrami reuben and it was suggested he go with onions instead since they didn't have any kraut ready. He had to to ask for the onions, which ended up being raw. He did enjoy his beer though. I'm not a beer drinker but they have $2 pints on Mondays.

The food is good, ambiance is great, and the beer is pretty nice too. Nothing too special in terms of beer but it's quality. You should go.

Well, they appear to have listened to their customers, which is great! Counter service has been discontinued in favor of waiters and waitresses who actually come to your table. I believe that the owners are working on getting the bugs out, and the new, post-BBQ menu is very good, all of five stars. But the service end of things still has not been worked out. Jennifer S's review highlights what I'm talking about. No one - NO ONE - should have to wait two hours for food that's ill-prepared, inconsistent from one visit to the next, and differs markedly from what is promoted on the menu.

Finally! A gastropub in the ancient heartland of German American brewing. Very good beer. Outstanding brand design. Too bad the lunch food could not keep up. Not bad, just a pity that they could not rock the not-too-complex cooking you would expect from such a cool place. Some suggestions: better buns, some good beer cheese, fish tacos need less fish, a more taco. American cheese in the grilled cheese sandwich? You guys are close...focus a bit more on the food, and you'll ring the bell!!

A great place to drink beer! The Manhattan was amazing!! Best meal I've had in a while! The black bean burger came on lettuce and had no bun, it sucked! The Mac and cheese needed more cheese. I would get the fries and Manhattan next time I come. Their Berry Shandy was very good, if you like tart/sweet shandies! The service was very slow, but we went on a Friday night. Maybe on less busy days, the service is better.

The wait staff is awesome. Have never gone in here without having really great service! That being said, they are always out of something on their menu and normally out of a beer or two on their list. I have been here several times, as well as during trivia, and never had the opportunity to choose from all four of the beers on their "regular" list because they have always been out of at least one. My husband and I split the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. It was great! Would be nice if they offered a beer and food pairing, so consumers could know what beers taste best with which items. It's difficult to drink their beers with some of the items on their menu.

There beer here is great and I mean great. That's about where it stops here. The food is ok but, the service is horrible. We were sat at the table by the front door. No one came to wait on us. The group that came in at the same time had there drinks and food before we were even waited on. We had to ask the hostess if there was anyone to wait on us and she seemed lost. She finally had one of the bartenders to come wait on us. He came to take our orders drink and food at the same time since we knew what we wanted. He brought our drinks and food to us and we never saw him again. We never got another drink because we couldn't order one. We had to leave the table and track him down to get our bill. We actually thought about leaving and not paying but, we aren't that kind of people.

The "Tasters" were there on Weds Jan 23 and we were very well received. There were 25 of us, and we had a great service. The atmosphere is wonderful, love what they did to that building...really fun place. The food was good, the ribs seemed to be the best of the BBQ, although a few liked the sausage. It was nice the sauces came on the side...although it was a small sample of sauce...you can ask for more. The sampler of beer was a good way to start...they were large samples, I think 6 oz, unlike other places in town which offer 3 oz samples. The brew was interesting...we had mixed takes on it. Their red was our clear winner, with the porter a second runner up. We will enjoy visiting again and sending others there. The "Tasters" have their own rating system... Food, Drink, Atmosphere, Service, and Fun and we say Tin Man Brewing Co. as it all...Five out of Five!

Really liked the new menu. Had shrimp and grits that were wonderful, and I don't usually like grits. My husband usually drinks domestic beer and I have a more selective taste but both of us found a beer we could like . They also serve Winzerwald wine that I also love. Service was a bit slow and it seemed at times all the staff disappeared and had to waive someone down to get the check but all in all a good experience.

If you're into self-service you'll love this place! If, like most adults you like to go out and actually be served/taken care of/waited on this is not the spot for you! From the order process to the payment details if it weren't for YOU, the CUSTOMER there wouldn't BE any service. You have to either pay as you go or give them your credit card to start a tab. When your thirsty you get to go stand in line at the bar to order and wait for your own drinks then carry them back to your table. Then, if you happen to be hungry you get to go BACK to the bar to order your own food. Big relief tho; they'll bring the food to your table! This is more like a college bar than the upscale brewery it tries to advertise itself as... And what's worse is that they actually DO appear to have a really cool brewery. Problem is that there isn't any explanation about the brewing process, no menu with the history of the place...just NOTHING. And with no wait staff I have no idea who'd explain it. Wow. I wanted more. I predict certain failure if there aren't changes implemented soon. Sad.

This brewery has a lot going for it. The branding and marketing is top-notch. The atmosphere is spectacular. The website is pro. The vibe is happening, but unfortunately the beer is average. The pilsner was unique, but I can't say I'd want to have more than a sample. The red ale was probably my favorite, but still rather bland. It almost tasted as if they had to pull the brew early for opening weekend. The IPA, porter, and stout were definitely lacking but showed a lot of promise. Having each of the beers on nitrogen was a definite plus, since you only see a couple on nitro at a brewery like Odell. For being opening weekend, it was busy, but I didn't feel it was chaotic. Tin Man Brewing definitely lives up to the brew-culture vibe, let's just hope next time I stop in town that it lives up to the brewing Still, as a frequenter of Evansville, I'm glad to see craft beer in the town. I will be sure to stop by next time and see where this brewery is going.

Not the worst, but definitely not the best BBQ and micro brew I've ever had, but not bad for Evansville. We ordered the 4 meat/4 side sampler to share and be able to try the majority of what they offered. Brisket- dry and fatty; Burnt Ends- decent but a little on the salty side; Sausage- pretty good, but wasn't what I was expecting; Pulled Pork- my favorite of the four- it was moist and had great flavor. Normally pork is at the bottom of my preferences. Sides: Smokey Mac & Cheese- totally bland and flavorless; Potato salad- dry and pretty bland; Coleslaw- not creamy, but not vinegary either- different, but good; BBQ beans- very tasty! We didn't care for any of the sauces either- in fact, we preferred dipping the brisket in the beans. Service was ok- other than the fact I had to go stand in line to order a second beer, only to return to the table and finally have someone ask if I'd like another pint not seeing the one I had just sat down. Would we go back again? Only if someone else we were out with really wanted to but it would not be our first choice.

The food and drinks were so good. Our waitress was really sweet and came by just enough to keep our drinks topped off. The live music was so fun to. I'd definitely go back if I was in town.

Yes! As a local Western Ky'er I was growing weary of Louisville, Lexington, and Cincinnati having all the great brewery's. Although this is unfortunately on the north side of the river, I have to give props where they're due, Indiana. This place was dynamite. We took my dad for Father's Day, a 45 minute drive from Owensboro. Every minute was worth it. We sampled 4 different beers, and each was very impressive (my preference was the Overlord Imperial IPA). The beers were dynamite, and to be honest, the food fell closely behind in deliciousness. My mom ordered a black bean burger that was pretty tasty, with a delicious house pickle. Dad ordered a pasta bowl which was honestly a bit sub par (it was build your own pasta so probably his own fault). HOWEVER - all of this was wiped out by the delectable morsel that was my sandwich... Local braised porkbelly covered in house slaw on a fried green tomato sandwiched between some killer cornbread waffles. Every bite was an experience. My dad left saying he couldn't wait to come back and get that sandwich. It was SO. GOOD. All in all - try this out. Breweries typically follow the rule that they cannot accompany decent culinary experiences. Consider Tin Man the exception to that rule. A must try.

Great beer options. I am a young 20 something who loves beer. This is the place to get a good beer after work and a great venue due to the atmosphere/remodeled old style building. Here on a Thursday and they had half off snacks before 6pm. Beer is good and certainly fair priced! Sparked some good conversation with people at the bar and was on a first name basis with the bartenders. Must go when you visit the city, solo or with friends/coworkers. Almost forgot to mention...their wings are phenomenal!!! Go here if you find yourself in Evansville like I did.

On a trip to Evansville, I looked up local breweries. This one was open and served food in the afternoon, so my girlfriend and I came here. We had a great experience. The décor is unique, and the premises orderly and clean. Our server loved beer as much as I do, and displayed a knowledgeable enthusiasm for the brewery's products; she was great. I sampled all their beers, enjoying the red ale and IPAs the most. Our food tasted good, was cooked well, and was made from high quality ingredients. We stayed nearly two hours, we were having such a great time. If I'm back in Evansville, I'll definitely stop by Tin Man again.
