My wife and I decided to stop for something to eat before making our journey home. Should have gone to a chain restaurant instead. I ordered the sunny side up burger medium rare and my wife a BLT with double bacon. When the orders arrived, the double bacon meant that there were 2 pieces of bacon vice one, and medium rare meant just enough time on the flat top to give it color on each side. I would have sent them back, but I know better. I am not insinuating that it would have been tampered with, but I don't take chances. After my wife combined what was on both halves of the sandwich, there was just enough for a half of sandwich. The service was adequate, but as there were very few other customers, I am not sure what the issue was, and I hope that this was the exception and not the rule.

I like the new menu and had no problem finding several things that looked good. The food was served timely and warm. The problem was shortly after we placed our order a small kid started screaming and did so for our entire meal. My wife requested a word with the manager (T.J.), he explained that the restaurant policy allowed him to gently mention to the parents that he had customer complaints, but that was all he was allowed to do. When the noise continued to the end of our meal, he actually told us our meal was free. That's customer service !

I like Max & Erma's. We dined on 4/1715 in the bar area. I had the tortilla soup and Caesar salad. The tortilla soup is one of the specialties on the menu, and it is consistently good. Caesar salad is just right, without too much dressing. My husband had the chicken fajitas, which were brought sizzling. The restaurant is located within the Tropicana complex, so if you want something else to do after dinner, you can go play slots. Service is decent. Good drink selection and prices. Would recommend.

Love to eat here! The tortilla soup, chicken fajitas and loaded nachos are top notch. Love looking out at the river while we eat. Clean and always polite staff.

If you are lucky enough to have Brooke as your server you can't go wrong. I had the Laredo steak with a baked potato and broccoli. The steak I give it a 7 out of 10 good flavor but has a few pieces that were fatty/chewy. It would be nice if you had another potato option other than a baked. Broccoli was steamed and fresh

Ate at the bar. Fish tacos were ok, not great. Came with a side of almost stale chips and tiny cup of salsa. Bartender was pleasant but was very busy with drinks so service a bit slow. Not her fault but if you are ina rush, the bar is not a good option My first and probably last meal at Max & Erma's.

Went here on New Year's Eve. It was a long wait ever though the restaurant was pretty slow. I got the Max size of some sort of meatball burger. It was really good. I ate it all. Wasn't too expensive.

We were worried about eating here because of the bad reviews but it was raining and we didn't want to walk a block to RiRa. So glad we gave it a try. We always eat at the bar to meet people and hear about other good places to go so I can't speak for table service. The bartender was very attentive, the food came out quick. I had the Chicken Pie, hubby had grilled chicken. We both enjoyed every bite. The flaky crust on my pie was delicious. We will definitely go back.

Horrible service. Had to wait to be seated, had to wait for drinks, had to wait for appetizers along with dinner. Seemed like nothing was put together, cleaned off table in front of us and didn't get menus for over 5 mins. EXTREMELY long wait, almost an hour, for dinner and restaurant isn't packed.

Sad, sad restaurant. While the steak and broccoli were good, the potato came minutes after the rest of the food. The margarita was watery, and the salt around the rim had been nearly washed away. My waitress was very kind; however, she had a decidedly offensive smell. The restaurant was almost empty, but I waited a long time for my food. Sad, sad restaurant.

Restaurant was half empty but still had a long wait. Waited another 5-10 minutes to get our drink order in. Brought appetizers with no plates or napkins, waitress came by and looked and didn't do anything about it.

Service was not that great. Specials suck Ribs are good Food was cold. Beer was crisp.

With all the bad reviews I was not sure about going here. Glad I did , the service was great. The hamburger was very good. Not sure what most people expect from this type of restraint but I thought it was good for what it is. Enjoyed it, for a close to the hotel meal it was just fine.

There on business and sat at the bar for dinner. Bartender was too involved in discussion on P90X with another customer to realize there were actually other people there. Club sandwich was a disappointment- think prepackaged deli meat. Really, you are a restaurant, right?! Better selections (I hope) await at the casino.

The food is "ok". Every couple of years I give them another try hoping that things have changed. Sadly, they haven't. The service is poor. They never brought out all of my order, by the time I had the chance to flag the server down, I was out of time to actually address the situation. I had to leave to get to an appointment. I guess I will try them again in a couple years.

No this is not a five star restaurant, but for what I was expecting at chain restaurant it blew away my expectations. They have a new salmon dish with lemon, I got it medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly, which is better than their cousin restaurant at the casino, Cavanaughs. Besides the huge cost difference b/t Cavanaughs and Max's I always had a better meal at Maxs, I ate at both places 2x's. I got take out salmon the other days, with the casino card, tax etc take out for salmon, with asparagus and field greens salad with sun dried tomatoes was $15 out the door (wow), and it was much better than the salmon I got at Cavanaughs the next day

Service was horrible. When we arrived, there was no one at the hostess desk. Five min or so later, the hostess came bopping in from a smoke break, apologized, then seated us. We started with the Garlic Parmesan Cheese Skewers. They were brought to the table with no plates or napkins. I ordered the New England Fish & Chips. My husband ordered the Cod Fish BLT. While we waited on our dinner, I left to use the restroom. When I returned, which was several min later since there is not a restroom in the restaurant, both dinner plates were on the table, but still no napkins or silverware. And my husband drank my tea because the waitress delivered the plates then disappeared. I had to search for someone to get our silverware. The fish was pretty good, but the coleslaw tasted spoiled. We won't go back.

This place has completely gone down hill. Max and Erma's used to be my families favorite place to get together, now it's been run into the ground. The food is nothing to brag about, and I hope they think about replacing the carpet in that place soon, because it's almost black from the amount of dirt and grim, and that alone almost made me lose my appetite. I wish they will do a overhaul soon, because I miss the old Max and Erma's!

the bad service started immediately when there was a woman taking an order over the phone and another at the to-go stand and neither acknowledged our existence. When the woman hung up, she walked away (to the kitchen?) and then returned to the to-go counter. A few minutes later the first woman at the to-go counter said I'll be right with you to the long line that was forming but first she needed to bus some tables?!? She returned and then sat us. Our waitress immediately took our drink order. Maybe it's not so bad? Then she took our food order, pretty basic stuff. However, she never volunteered any information- my husband didn't want the seasoned fries. We had to look for any additional sides. When the food arrived our burgers were cooked to order (meat quality was good but lacking any flavor) and the seasoned fries lacked any seasoning! The fried pickles were good. The waitress brought refills without having to be asked but brought the check without asking about dessert. We ordered the cookies- there is a wait but they were very good. It might be ok for room service? But overall, terribly bland food with apathetic service. The view was nice but we won't be back

Not bad if you're staying at the Aztar hotel or don't want to stray too far from the casino (in those cases it's probably your best bet if you want table service). The atmosphere is in need of an update, especially in the bar. The service is pretty bad, I can't put my finger on the specific problem, but it's just not good! The food is mediocre at best, and my favorite item I suppose would be the Black Bean burger. The black bean rollups we had as an appetizer are canned beans smeared on microwaved tortillas and served with salsa straight out of the jar (blah!)
