Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I'm very very very particular about my Chinese Food ...thanks to frequent trips to San Francisco. I'm also NOT a General Chicken kinda girl ... I like the adventurous dishes and this place delivered. Not to say the standards weren't good. They were very ...but ...loved everything. The Green Beans and Pork were especially good. As was the Honey Shrimp and Dumplings.

Love this place! Best Chinese food in Evansville for sure. Be prepared for 2 hours of dining. Not a quick bite kind of place.

I returned to once again to sample what they offer. We ordered the Pan Fried Noodles and Kong Pao beef, and hot Chinese tea. The noodles were excellent. Reminded me of what I sampled while I was in the Far East. The Kong Pao beef were exceptionally tasty. The whole dined in experience was simply amazing and the atmosphere was warm and very relaxing in the booth. Wife and I had a wonderful time. We spent $28 before gratuity. Service is always good. We took the leftovers home, kids were ecstatic. Oh yes, we are coming back again, soon!

The best Crab Rangoon in town, and their General Tso's chicken is incredible too! The staff is always attentive and the restaurant is exceptionally clean. Their lunch is the best deal, with most specialities served for $6-7 with rice, vegetable, and spring roll.

Beautiful place. But for take out this place is not the place to go. Nothing crispy at all about the crispy calamari. Garlic shrimp was ok, but very pricey. Nothing like getting a take out order and getting back to your hotel to learn there are no chop sticks or silverware. It was a disappointing experience all the way around.

Very good Chinese food, but kinda pricey

Excellent food. Fast service and fair prices. Friendly staff that make customers feel at ease. We have been here before and will be returning. I highly recommend it.

A good Chinese restaurant that doesn't dump the Exxon Valdez on your food. The place is clean, staff courteous and most important, the food has flavor other than rancid oil as tasted in other places around town.

I truly feel like they have the best Chinese food around and the restaurant is by far a lot classier than the others in town. This place reminds me of the quality and service that I get back in Chicago. You can also tell that the food is fresh and hasn't been sitting under a heat lamp all day. For example their fried food is crunchy and crisp, their rice is soft and sticky, and their vegetables aren't soggy and mushy.

This restaurant is a total "mouth orgasm"! They have a full bar, service is attentive, food is delicious (try the hot and sour soup, and the spicy chicken)! The owner stopped by our table to ask about us and make small talk. A nice touch as well. We arrived and it was packed but we still felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Food was served piping hot and we enjoyed ourselves.

Well I've tried every other Chinese restaurant in the greater evansville area, so it seems fitting I make my way to Ma Ts. I've heard mostly good reviews. Went there with a party of four including my little one. Got in no problem on a Saturday night. First off, booster seats for kids are nice and have a seatbelt on them. Very nice touch. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. After looking over the menu of standard American-Chinese menu items, we decided on the Queen Special. That gives you an eggroll, egg drop or hot and sour soup, a green salad(only available on non-holidays), choice of one of about 8 entrees and a strawberry whipped cream dessert thing. The entree got steamed or fried rice. The eggroll was a good start, not huge but crispy and tasty. I'm a sucker for egg drop soup, and this was the highlight of the meal. Some of the best EDS I've had. Normally it is $2 per bowl there, and with that price we considered ordering more. The green salad had fresh crisp lettuce, some wonton noodles which the little guy loved, and an Asian-ginger dressing. It was a nice surprise but otherwise nothing noteworthy. Entrees followed, with decent sized portions, small lettuce salads/garnish, and a larger spoon for sharing. I get it, in China they share everything. Nice try, but here in the US we are all about ourselves (unfortunately) so those "sharing" spoons really aren't necessary. Food was good, not great, white and brown rice were good but not outstanding. The dessert was a few strawberries with a homemade tasting whipped cream over a small cake-like dollop. Overall the meal was good, decent ambiance, but for $14 for Chinese food I guess I would have wanted a bit more. I'll be back, and they treated us well despite the young child on a weekend night, so that's a major plus.

Your desire for their great Chinese food really depends on how long you're willing to wait. Service is slooooooow, but if you've got the time for a slow but delicious dining experience, this is your place.

I like my chinese restaurants covered in a thin layer of grease and you have to sterilize your dishes in hot tea before using them, so this rather elegant place had me wary...and even more so when everyone in our large party was each asked to order our 'dish' (apparently 'family style' doesn't fly in the midwest, tho marrying yr cousin does...). Anyhow, the food was pretty good in that faux pf chang way. The orange shrimp was like cotton candy. I can't say that the cream cheese filled wonton was very authentic, but the garlic pork and the kung pao beef were closer. The large sake was kinda high $8, but heck they probably had to import it from chi-town. We had fun.

The name is a bit odd, but you have to run with it. Ling Ma and Jane Tang are the owners - take the Ma & the T. Then the numbers 888 together are supposed to be lucky in the chinese culture for some reason. Add China Bistro and the Hoosiers completely understand it. I imagine that most people expect to find a buffet style set up in here, as that;s the set up mostly around here, but quickly find it Ala Carte. The offer family style dining or pick and choose what it is you like. Even if it is not listed on the menu you can kindly ask them to assist and I am sure that they can get the dish together. I ordered the spicy garlic chicken with two extra kicks and the spice was just right for me. 2 cups of water later our waitress brought me out some additional steamed rice at no additional charge - loved that. We also had the veg. rolls with some spicy hot mustard mixed with soy sauce and that was a def. de-lish combo. I would return again if it not be for an old trick i somewhat ran into there. You just can't go out eating now a days without running into someone you met off craigslist anymore at 1a.

Consistently great food, service and staff. I have not eaten at all the E-ville Chinese places but I know great Chinese when I eat it- this is great and it's my favorite. My 5 star Chinese place is in San Francisco so that will give you some idea of my standards.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in town. My wife and I love the quiet and roomy atmosphere. The food is great and they seem to make an extra effort in their presentation. Service is friendly and efficient.

We had a great time at this place! We ordered the "Royal Queen Family," and for $13 dollars per person you get some serious bang for your buck. We had salad, spring rolls, soup, and then we chose our entree off a small list. I chose Mongolian Beef and my husband got Spicy Garlic Pork, a choice of white, brown, or fried rice, and to top it off, a dessert called Strawberry Cream Delight, which was a yummy strawberry shortcake like dessert served in a martini glass. Everything was delicious and our entrees were actually spicy, as the star on the menu indicated they should be. Half way through the meal my toddler was upset that she couldn't open the blinds to see the sun (the light was bothering another table) and she started to cry. One of the owners was so sweet and gave my daughter a gift to make her feel better. It was so nice and totally unnecessary, but we accepted the gift and my daughter was happy as could be. Now when she sees the gift at home (it was a Mickey Mouse tea cup and spoon) she says "it was so nice of that lady to give me that when I was sad." Good food, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff, and you don't leave with that heavy feeling that "fast food" Chinese food give you.

We really enjoyed this place, It was recommended by one of our own customers, Word of mouth is great advertisment. When you go in they really make you feel welcome and relaxed.

Even though I don't understand the "888" in the name, it's still a great place to eat. The best Chinese lunch in Evansville and the second best Chinese food.

Love this place. Good vegetarian and fish selections, and that salad... yumyum. Also I do love the formal feel of the service and ambiance. A nice change.
