I discovered Just Rennie's a few months back through some coworkers. We have been traveling to Evansville for work and needless to say there aren't many non-chain places to get something to eat in the area. Just Rennie's is locally owned and although they have catering services, you can also walk in and get sandwiches, coffee, and sweet treats. We have had a lunch catered in for one of our meetings and it was amazing. We had a chicken, artichoke and mushroom casserole with salad and cookies. I must say that I have to pay homage to these cookies. Awesome is my one word description. It looks like a huge scoop of dough. My understanding is that they actually cook them in a muffin tin. You can order them online and have them shipped! Even if you aren't able to make it to Evansville, you at least need to go online and order some of these cookies! I also have tried some of their paninis. They were all tasty, but my favorite is the chicken pesto. I look forward to continuing to try out more of their menu as time goes on.

Other than the great friends I made, there are precious few things I miss about living in Evansville. Rennie's is one of them. I've had their catered food on a couple of occasions and everything....I mean EVERYTHING I've tried from them has been fresh, flavorful, and fantastic! Their cookies are locally famous and to die for. You can even order them online to ship directly to you! They are not exactly cheap, but trust me - you will not care when you try them. Best cookies ever - and this coming from a non-sweet tooth kind of girl. They also now have a lunch counter downtown which is amazing, although kind of pricey. Totally worth it though. I used to stop here to pick up lunch when I felt like treating myself. Potato salad is great, as is everything else. Yum yum yum! Try Rennie's and I promise you won't regret it. Seriously. At least GET THE COOKIES!

Went here for lunch one afternoon. Based on a suggestion and a few tables outside on an uncharacteristically cool summer afternoon, it seemed like a logical place to go. There were four of us including one vegetarian. We walked into the tight store and immediately were induced with a tooth decaying scent of sweetness. This place was flat out making magic on some confections. We were there for food and the fresh salads in the cooler looked tempting. I got the chicken and pesto panini. It was pre-made and on multigrain bread which I typically don't care for, but this sandwich rocked. I got some chips and a water to follow it up for a tidy price around $10. My companions got sandwiches and multiple fresh salads, including pesto pasta salad, cucumber tomato salad, and various green salads among others. Our vegetarian found no problems filling his plate. The service was great and food was fresh and fun. We will definitely be back, just so long as we can sit outside. I did not see inside seating. Great place, sweet smells (free) and fresh food.

Just Rennie's is the top shelf for catering events in Evansville. Doug and Marla have built a fantastic business and have a venue that can fit any level of elegance and at reasonable prices. I recommend them for any catering event.
