This place was ok, some real characters hanging out in here but ultimately my wife liked it and if it gets me laid at the end of the day then what can I say about it other than it's A-OK with me! Although I do want to note that I won't be going here by myself again anytime soon.

The Zombie Club was a bit of a letdown for me. With a name like that, I was expecting a place that Rob from High Fidelity would hang out at on the weekends. What I found inside was an overly-decorated tiki bar. Lame.

I tend to make a point of avoiding bars in Indiana because of the smoke, but I happened to visit the Zombie Club to see a friend play there. It is neither the worst nor best bar I have been to. The biggest no no for me with any bar is lack of beers on tap. It's completely ridiculous for any bar to not have at least a few draft beers, and as such, a bar without them instantly loses a star. The selection they have of bottles is decent, but charging a single person a minimum $10 to use their credit card is essentially just socially irresponsible when you run a bar. I have a very strict "only two beers if I'm driving home" rule and Zombie Club seemed hellbent on getting me to break it by charging $4 for each of my beers. Luckily, I was able to buy a beer for a friend to hit the minimum, but his is the only bar I've ever visited that has that dangerous rule. Service was friendly, but also pretty slow. I stood at the end of the bar for seven minutes (I always time it on my phone for the sake of these reviews) before being greeted, while the bartender seemed to bend over backwards for the regulars. Luckily, when she finally did get around to me, she was friendly and capable. It would help, though, if I were provided a beer list rather than having to walk over to a poorly lit cooler to figure out what I was drinking. I ended up just guessing something because the bartender couldn't remember much of what was in there. Oh well. The atmosphere is weird. Tiki stuff and smoke everywhere, which is not what I expected from "Zombie Club." It would bother me less if the bar stools and chairs weren't hideously uncomfortable. Luckily, I was eventually able to get a seat in the back on the big comfy couch, which made things slightly more enjoyable. I didn't eat the food, so I can speak to that, but the service was friendly despite being slow, the atmosphere was unique but a bit kitschy, the regular seating wasn't comfortable and the lack of tap beers is a huge minus. Middle of the road dive bar.

Outstanding pizza! Chefs attention to detail is top notch! Service is awesome. This is my new take out food spot.

Smoke pit. Why is it called Zombie Club? If they insist on keeping the word "Zombie", they should call it "Zombie Tiki Lounge" and introduce some kind of zombie element inside. Because, it's a tiki bar. That's it. OR, they could ditch the tiki decor and do something unique and original in there.

The Zombie Club ROCKS!! From the BEST drinks on the Crown Point Square to the most awesome thin crust Pizza I have ever had! Great lighting, Cool Tunes, Great Food and Super friendly service!!!! MY ULTIMATE favorite spot!!!

Tiki tacky fun... seriously I am a weirdo I guess but I like the theme. I always wanted to get lost on Gilligan's Island so maybe that is why it clicks. People have an issue with the fact it is called Zombie Club but it's a Tiki bar. Just a quick FYI, there IS a bar in New York called the Zombie Hut and it is also Tiki themed. It does get very smokey in here so those that do not smoke will want to strip and shower when they get home. I do not smoke so it's not fun, but my friends smoke so I compromise. I like going to the back of the room as they have couches and it is really cozy back there. With a group of friends it can feel like your own private party. While I do enjoy beer, I like a good bar where I can have some liquor. This might sound crazy, but I can buy a 6 pack and it doesn't cost too much to commit to a new brew. Liquor on the other hand can get expensive and if I want to mix a drink at home it costs a lot of money. They do not have beers on tap but they do sell bottles. Plenty of stuff for mixed drinks. The bartenders are friendly and have always been helpful and quick. I have not tried the food here but a friend ordered some and it looked ok, nothing special. She said it hit the spot though.

This place is terrible. The owner of the bar obviously has a drinking problem. She's rude & obnoxiously loud. I was appalled when I heard the things that came out of her mouth! She actually asked someone if they were "autistic" and said that he was a "freak!" No joke. I don't tolerate insensitive comments towards others like that & therefore will not patronize zombie club again. Definitely keep walking past this place unless you want to sit in a literal craphole.

What's with the bad reviews??? This place is just fine... Here's the skinny: Service is A-OK Food is decent Drinks are cheap It's Tacky-Tiki-Riffic Here's the fat: So I've been coming here on and off for a few years now... not often enough to be called a "regular" or anything but, often enough to get a good feel for the place. I don't know why some of the previous reviews had complaints about the service here. I don't think I've ever had crappy service or anything here... a little slow service on occasion yes but, no-one working there has ever been rude or done anything that warrants the phrase "does not know how to treat her customers". I waltzed in for the first time in about 8 months last night(Monday) just to check it out and see what's up... (Plus the Yelp 100 challenge list beckoned for an addition) The bartender working was pretty awesome, she makes a good Zombie(drink), is pretty quick on the refills and easy to strike up a convo with. A-OK in my book Food... the food pretty A-OK here. Pizza has always been pretty good here. The Stuffed Mushrooms... I remember them being better here. The flavor and all that was still good but, last night they just seemed a bit too soggy. Didn't hate 'em or anything but, they weren't like before. Drink prices are pretty reasonable and NOT watered down... where'd that notion come from? Maybe some folk just want a liquor loaded drink? Me... I prefer something that's made right and tastes good. They *usually* make 'em pretty spot on here at Zombie. I'll admit, there have been a few doozies though... Martini's were pretty iffy a while back and haven't had one here since. That was a while ago though, maybe I'll give 'em another go sometime. So... Tiki eh??? I do agree that this place is a little "Tacky" with the Tiki theme and all that but, you know what? It's pretty cool. Never seen a Tiki-Bar kinda place in NWI so props to them! The wood bar is long, with maybe 15-20 seats and there's a few high top tables too! The tables probably seat 4 people tops and come complete with an umbrella! Yup... it's useless because it's inside but, it's all about that island vibe I guess. Towards the back of the bar are some cozy couches and a gas fireplace. Furniture is arranged in a U around a table so it's a nice spot to chill out and relax if you've got a few people with you and don't want to be all spread out at the bar. No... it's not the best bar ever but, it's definitely a cool place to check out. They have a TouchTunes Jukebox - get the phone App it's awesome! Yes, they allow smoking and it can get a bit smokey. There are no Zombies here... yet. SYOY

The food here is really really good. Just walked in to have a couple drinks and noticed the menu and food specials. Was surprised to see a lot of take out orders of food coming from this place so I figured I'd try something. Got the pork tenderloin sandwich...so good! Cooked perfectly with a real nice breading that was a little different from normal PT sandwiches. I've also tried the Cuban sandwich and that was another excellent dinner there! It's also a huge plus that it's a really fun bar. Low key enough for a dinner then a good time to get drunk as the night goes on. Whenever I'm in town around the square this is the only place I'll go to. Excellent bar with good cocktails and better food and a nice staff working there.

After working 12 hours on my birthday, my husband and I stopped in for a drink before calling it a night. The bar was relatively empty and we sat at a table near the back. The place is really dark and easy to cozy up to your date. Our waitress, Barb, was attentive without being overbearing. My mixed drink was good and my husband enjoyed his milk stout. They don't have anything on tap, which was odd to me. We shared the crabcakes (not as good as I was hoping and probably wouldn't order again) and the butternut squash ravioli with pumpkin sauce (SO good and cheap!!). The bar does have a tiki theme but I didn't think it seemed tacky or overdone? Maybe it was just too dark to see? Haha. There were a few people smoking (Bleh!) but it wasn't smokey (tall ceiling probably does make a difference). This is Indiana and they don't have the same laws as Illinois, so I don't think it's something I can complain about. I'd probably come back!

I think Zombie club was great. I had good service and met some old friends there. The atmosphere was perfect for what we were looking for and we had good food and drink. I would highly recommend the place.

Fun place to start the night. No dance floor. Tiki bar theme. Fun drinks. Nice Bartenders.

Okay, here are 2 noteworthy experiences from my visits to Zombie Club 1. On a Friday night I was sitting in their couch area with some people, who I had just met, having a couple cocktails. A few hours went by and they left. When someone came over to grab the 6-pack of hot sauce that they give to the pizza orders, I was accused of stealing one or two of them. Then after I talked to the owner (Pam) I was able to at least convince her that I had not taken them. So then she proceeded to tell me that I walked in with the people that had stolen them and that I need to call them to have it returned. Ridiculous. No one wants your 80% used hot sauce. Great way to get repeat business... accuse your customers of stealing. Here's a thought Pam.. check your camera's.. they are mounted there for both our protection! 2. Just last week on Sunday I went in again (against my better judgement) and had a couple cocktails with some friends. Like usual, my friend has given the bartender his card and we ran a tab... nothing new here. So after we were done she brought us the bill and not the card. After she refused to search for it, even after admitting that she took it from us, we were not given an apology. The bartender was seriously on something though. Pills most likely. She was slurring, eyes barely open, and forgot to bring drinks back seconds after us ordering. Later that night a miraculous 150 dollar charge was issued to the card at the business next door (police investigation pending) Camera's don't lie. Pam doesn't care about you, she wants your money. The bartenders are mediocre at best. This place used to be a nice break from the Jager-bomb crowd that so often frequents the square, but the service is just awful. My blood pressure goes up just thinking about what a shady operation goes on in there, these are just 2 of the many terrible experiences I have had. Will this place ever see my wallet again? Not a chance.

Great drive bar. Older crowd, most calm bar on the square.

The food is bad, drinks are weak, and the owner does not know how to treat her customers. Don't waste your time here. Go to Amore's on the other side of the square for a much better experience.

I'll admit I wasn't sure what I was walking into, 4pm on Friday afternoon, with family friends as we waited for a wedding reception to start in a few hours across the street at the Courthouse. We thought the place looked closed, and it was lucky for us I tried the door anyways, as the dark, cool, tiki-style bar was easing into a relaxed late-afternoon. We were served by an enthusiastic and attentive Pam, who gave us a tour of summer-themed beers, while opening her kitchen early so we could snack on the delicious jumbo chicken wings. All of us had a wonderful time, at the comfortable bar.

Love going to the Zombie Club. Pam and Tiffany are the best and we love their pizzas!!

Bar hopping in CP on a Saturday afternoon. I liked the decor - kind of African-Tiki-Campy but very dark. The drinks were okay - $7 for a martini. There was no music playing so the noise level was tolerable. I'd go back as long as there wasn't a band or loud music.

If you are in Northwest Indiana and looking for a cool lounge, I suggest heading to the county seat which is Crown Point. On the square there are nothing but bars galore. My favorite bar is the Zombie Club. It used to be called the Zombie Lounge but due to politics and a dance club it is now called the Zombie Club. They make one hell of a chocolate martini. They have a great beer selection, almost everything from local and domestic breweries to imports. The menu is small, but they have great appetizers. I highly recommend going to this place after a hard day at work, or if you just want to relax with friends. The bar is set up like a tiki bar with grass skirt covered tables and flat screen TVs galore. As you head to the back there are couches you can kick back and relax on if you want. I normally would give this place five stars however Friday and Saturday nights it gets so packed that it loses it's cool lounge appeal. It is a must see however!!!

Great place if you wanna just relax and have a drink. Older crowd during the week but on the weekends its a good mix. Average prices. Great place to take a date. Tiki decor. Couches in the back by a fireplace. They have a very small menu but great food. Great pizza. No dj. Juke.

This place is fun and the tiki theme is definitely unique. I like to sit towards the back where they have a few couches and a fireplace...it's really cozy! The only thing I don't like is how loud it gets when they have a band, but that's to be expected. I would absolutely go back!

Zombie does fit this place accordingly. On a Friday night for Memorial Day weekend kick off, this place was DEAD! It looked like a Tiki Hawaiian lounge. I wasn't expecting zombies or anything like that, but I did expect a more modern vibe. HUGE disappointment.
