We always sit at the counter at Steak-&-Shake... And this was a great one. It was literally dinner and a floor show! The young man at the grill was amazing, and was turning out burgers properly done, and really quickly. When he needed a break the manager jumped in! He also waited on folks, worked registers, and pulled them through a busy spell, and was very encouraging to his people. We got into a conversation with him (the manager), and he told us stories about coming to America 15 years ago and got a job at S&S washing dishes. Meet his wife there, learned the business and now train's for them (he's a turnaround manager). Clean, quick, efficient store which left a good impression on us. If you are ever in a hurry, and the counter is open, jump on a stool and enjoy watching the show! We sure did...

Im a local diner and this place has gone down hill. Slow service even on off hours. Tables and seating many dirty. The floors were dirty the walls are dirty and dusty the kitchen area appers to have a years worth of crap built up on the floor under the food prep area. Dust and grease on walls in kitchen above grill. Raw food not covered as flies seemed to be feasting next to grill. Grill controls are missing knobs broken equipment hanging in kitchen above food prep area both cash registers have the backs removed probably due to overheating because the vents on both were clogged with dust. This place needs a make over and management needs to wake up. People of crawfordsville are getting tired of this local resturant trend of lousy service and filthy conditions. Thats why you can only get pizza or hambugers in this town. My shake was good!

SLOW!!!!! Waited on our food for an hour and half for only 4 people. By time we got our food it was cold! We called the headquarters an the manager called and said he was sorry and did nothing else. Not going back for a long time.

Probably the cleanest Steak N' Shake I've ever been to. Good location right on 231. The only time I ever go to Steak N' Shake is for their daily happy hour (1/2 off drinks from 2-4 AM and 2-4 PM). I never come away disappointed.

I am normally a fan of Steak N Shake, but I no longer go to this particular store. I am prepared when I go for this Steak N Shake to be extremely slow. The food is usually worth the wait. Unfortunately, the past two times I have gone I have had to complain to the server about the quality/ accuracy of my order. It takes a lot for me to complain, but the food has just been that bad. Some changes need to happen before I'd consider going back.

Sit down restaurants in crawfordsville that aren't fast food are a rarity. As far as this particular Steak N Shake goes I have had much better service here then I have ones in other locations. Brownsburg in particular. Do I really need to review the food? I think you know what is on the Steak n Shake menu by now. The Cherry Lime-Aid drinks are pretty tasty that they started offering a while back. If you come here ask for Kristin. She is an awesome Waitress and lot's of fun.
