Impressive! From the cute interior decor to the wide selection of delicious sandwiches to the great service, Brown Bag Sandwich shop is a very welcome addition to the Cville dining community. I am happy to report that it is a quality local business that gives you an excellent alternative to the chain restaurants and so-so local spots. Brown Bag serves up a variety of sandwiches, daily soups, sides, and drinks, and at very reasonable prices. I had the short rib sandwich with a side of applesauce today. The sandwich was delicious and hearty, with a savory grain mustard that complemented the tender short ribs perfectly. I plan on returning and trying out everything else on the menu. It's really wonderful to have a downtown restaurant that hits all the buttons: good interior decor, nicely printed menu, delicious food, and great service.

Ate here today with my family. My daughter loved her grilled cheese and apple sauce side. My wife found the chicken salad very flavorful. I had the pork loin sandwich (with provolone and red onion and a pineapple based condiment) -- it was delicious. The potato salad side was wonderfully seasoned but I found the potatoes a touch undercooked. The Craft drinks we had were root beer and Mexican cola (tasted like RC cola of old days but with pure cane sugar). Both were excellent options. Service was impeccable and the restaurant clean and classily decorated. I would eat here again in a heartbeat!

Went and got the chicken salad sandwich with side of pasta salad. It was full of good flavor and I would get it again. It's a little pricy for a sandwich shop. One person could spend ATLEAST $10. Down fall you can only buy bottled drinks. Even if you want ice water you have to buy a bottle water.

I'm glad to see a downtown establishment that is staying busy. This is one place I definitely need to frequent more often. They have some delicious daily specials and the items on the regular menu leave nothing to be desired. My last visit I tried the cilantro lime chicken wrap. Delicious! They offer many bottled sodas that I wish I could say I have tried all of them. Maybe soon! Stop next door for some candy or chocolate as well!

Tasty sandwiches and sides. My wife raved about her tomato soup with rosemary. The craft soda selection was interesting and fun. Our server was great and took good care of us even though it was busy and she was working hard. We pulled in off the interstate and it was cool to see a bit of a historic downtown.

If you are looking for some unusual sandwiches and a great selection of soft drinks from around the country, this is it! Well worth turn off I-74. The over-stuffed sandwiches were made with fresh ingredients and a lot of creativity. There is even one called Grandma's pot roast which has mashed potatoes, meat, and vegetables.

This little sandwich shop is wonderful! They are open Monday-Saturday from 11 to 6. There are old pictures of Crawfordsville on the walls throughout the shop. It is really interesting! I'm also a sucker for old tin ceilings, which BB Shop had. My husband and I ordered two different sandwiches and split them because there were too many yummy options to be content with picking just one. Both sandwich choices (D'Gray Beard and Pulled BBQ chicken) were very good. Each sandwich was reasonably priced and came with a choice of side. BB Shop has a page on Facebook where you can suggest different sandwiches for their menu. If the chef likes it, he will add it to the menu as a "Special of the Day" using your name as the name for the sandwich. Doesn't get much cooler than that :) I would definitely recommend eating in or picking up from Brown Bag Sandwich Shop! You won't regret it!

Excellent sandwiches. In fact we so eager to eat them that we forgot to take pictures the food, twice! The favorite is the best but the pulled pork was extra tender and satisfying. Soups here are always unique and bursting with flavor, not your typical bland soups so be prepared for an experience. The cheesecake was perfect as well.
