Go or No? : Go. Amazingly yummy sushi in Connersville? Yes!! I'm from San Francisco and it was a little taste of home. No seriously! Go! We got there and it's a redone Bob Evens, really nicely redone! Big roomy comfy booths! Super clean. Seated promptly! Super friendly service! So let's get down to it. Was the food good? Yep. And I mean really good. Lots of options for the area I thought! Lots of options for fried and non fried rolls. Seaweed salad too? Check. Yummy gyoza? Check. Best roll of the night I thought was the delicious Hot Lovers Roll! Check this place out, PLEASE!! I don't want it to go away ever. This is for sure my new spot even though I live in New Castle. Totally worth the drive.

Coming to visit family in Connersville from Cincinnati, we were a bit hesitant about the quality. I have to tell you that this restaurant outdid themselves, and most Cincinnati Japanese restaurants. The sushi was fresh, the service attentive, and while lacking some ambiance, was certainly worth the trip. Whether a local or a visitor, I would highly recommend!

Was shocked to see a sushi place while passing through Connersville. Was more shocked that it was actually pretty good! Excellent service and some decent sushi. I've had far worse in much larger towns and cities. Hopefully Connersville supports it. Will definitely stop back in next time through town.

I have tried them out several times since they opened. The first time I went I was surprised our waitress had no idea about menu items but I'm sure now that it was first day jitters and since then they have educated their staff on options. The food is awesome! Sushi is fantastic! Service is great. When ordering take out they always have everything ready. Chopsticks, soy sauce, everything in the bag. I highly recommend trying them out! Thanks Yamoto for the excellent quality and service!

It's so nice to finally have GOOD Sushi on my hometown. I live in Dallas, travel the world, and eat Sushi frequently...This Sushi is ranks in the top 10, and is fresh! Please Stay!

I'm very picky with my sushi. I live in NY where you can get amazing sushi so when I went to Connersville to visit family, I was skeptical about trying it. I was very much surprised! I ordered two Volcano Rolls which were amazing and I highly recommend! The kids got Philly Rolls and California rolls both were awesome. Next time I visit Connersville, I will for sure be back.

As a non-seafood eater, I was dubious about the food but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the salad, chicken fried rice, green tea, and tempura ice cream. I wasn't disappointed with a single part. The tea didn't disappoint. The salad dressing is delicious, especially with the yum yum sauce added to it. I fell in love with the fried rice. The chicken in it was good but the rice was the star. And of course the tempura ice cream was yummy. Half of my party dislikes seafood but they enjoyed their meal. No one left unhappy with their meal or service. The servers was very attentive and kind. The ladies fell in love with my baby cousin and kept stopping by to coo at her. We didn't want for anything throughout the meal. If you ever see a Yamato restaurant I definitely recommend stopping by. You won't be disappointed.

You know, for Connersville sushi, it's really pretty good. And now that they've hit their stride, it's a predictably decent experience. The ambiance, as Charles pointed out, is lacking. This building used to house a Bob Evans and it sat empty for many, many years. I don't think precision was the name of the game in fixing it up, but if you squint, it's not bad. I don't understand the pop machine in the entryway, though. The service is interesting in that it's dwindled down from the students taking Japanese classes at the high school to mostly Japanese personnel both preparing and serving the food. This isn't a bad thing; most of those kids were out of their element and not ready to work at a fast-paced restaurant for their first job. The sushi is okay. Not the best I've ever had, but not the worst by a long shot. It's a little on the expensive side but not outrageous. The fried rice is very good. I haven't really had any of the hibachi offerings but I've heard good things. Bottom line: It's just nice to have another option in Connersville, especially one that's different from the same old pizza/casual dining experience. I hope it sticks around.

I had the fried rice and jumbo shrimp lunch special for around $6.99. Drinks cost $1.99, even tea. The waitress was great. The iced tea was a tad on the watery side. They know how to spice their food just right to where nothing was overpowering. The parking lot is weird in that you go in at the back, and there isn't access on the main road. We had to make a few circles when we came out because intuitively, you would expect the entrance on the main road instead of in the back. There were cool bamboo frosted glass windows and intimate seating. If you ask for a table, you will get a booth-table combo, though. Not too showy, as far as decor. Thats fine though, because the food was spectacular and thats what i was there for. We also got a fun little piece of hard candy with the bill.

Ive been impressed every visit here. They are incredibly friendly and fast service wise. The food has always been fresh and good. The sushi is reasonably priced and tasty. You can tell they are putting a lot of effort into their service and food and take pride of their restaurant. If you are craving sushi this is the closest place next to Richmond, but I believe you get a much better value here!
