I stop here every year, I visit town this time of year and have for the last 8 years. I didn't discover this right away, but did about 4 years ago. It is really good! My favorite in town and in the area too. Beef was extra good this time, I had it several times over the weekend and this week. I also had the pulled pork it was also very good. I like that I can add sauce at the table for the beef, that the beef comes without as I'm diabetic, so adding on my own is important. The flavor without sauce was very good just the right amount of bark and very tender and still juicy, not dry. The sides are good but the beef and pork are why you go there. Yes 5 stars!

The food here is pretty good, but not as good as they used to be. You really don't get much for the money and quality has dropped considerably since they opened. They weigh the portions of meat they give you. I mean c'mon...really?!? Just grab some tongs and throw some on there. That is the way it used to be (and still is at just about every other bbq joint in the universe). If I am paying 9 friggin dollars for lunch...I'd like more than 5 bites of pulled pork, or brisket. All in all...typical negative restaurant evolution....drop in quantity and quality...price stays the same and/or is raised.

Stopped by for lunch today (August 9th), two of us ordered the brisket platter. The brisket was chopped up and the meat was cold. Good portion sizes. The cornbread ball was inedible as it had been deep fried and kept warm in the oven. The garlic mashed potatoes were nice, but the sweet potatoe casserole was disgusting. Our daughter had the pulled pork and it was dry. The bun was greasy and the Mac and cheese was stodgy. She had an upset stomach after eating a little of it. We will not go there again unless they improve their quality of food.

I love smoked meat and I cannot lie! Bubba Blues smokes some great meat and I am a regular. I recommend pulled pork or beef brisket as you prefer. You can order ala carte, smokin' deal with one side, or a platter with two sides and cornbread. The meat is consistently tender, smokey, well trimmed, and delicious. I've been here *many* times and never been disappointed. I can say I've never had chicken or turkey as poultry in my experience doesn't take smoke as well. Personally I like my sauce on the side so I avoid the pre-sauced Big Daddy's Pork. The sides are typical for BBQ. My favorite is the sweet potato casserole, which is pretty much dessert. They offer free homemade chips on Tuesday and I like those. French fries are fresh cut - mmm. My friends are fond of the mac and cheese. The cornbread is deep fried like a hush puppie, so you know that's good! I recommend the "bread and butter" pickles, aka sweet pickles. I eat them as a tasty side dish. Sauces are mild, sweet n tangy, Carolina, and hot. All tasty! The Carolina is a cider vinegar sauce, watery by design. I put a little Carolina on the meat and top that with sweet n tangy. The mild is too bland for me. The hot is not very hot at all. They do have about 50 varieties of commercial hot sauce if you're so inclined. They have tea, soft drinks, and a fair selection of bottled beers.

Business trip to Seymour IN. Looking for some good restaurants, and found this place, rated for 4 stars so I to thought give it a try. Nothing really that amazing once you had some delicious BBQ down south in Carolina but I know I can't compare. I ordered the two meat platters (big daddy and brisket) bid daddy was good but the brisket was a little dry. Had potato salad and Mac & cheese, corn bread on side. Potato salad taste a little funny. Corn bread was hard like a rock. Overall food was ok but I don't think I will come back again.

My colleague and I had two hours to kill before a meeting and passed this place during our joy ride so we stopped in here. I'm usually not ruffled by the "rustic" hole in the wall look (note: roll of paper towels on each table instead of napkins, wood paneling like it's going out of style, etc.), but this place looks like it could implode if you lean against the wall in the wrong place, and the way the food is handled also made be nervous. Long story short, no one died, and the food is AMAZING. I had a two meat, two sides platter, with some seriously greasy, chopped up brisket, and a handful of shredded pork for about $10. From the sides I chose mashed potatoes and macaroni. The others looked like they might be vintage -- rescued from the back of someone's grandma's freezer. I had my pick of about 100 different hot sauces, my colleague wide-eyed the whole process, and sat down at a booth. The food is a diamond in the rough. If I'm back in the area I'll definitely starve myself so I can stuff my face here!

Dropped in here after checking out reviews for "BBQ in Columbus, IN" so I knew what I was walking in to. The folks from Restaurant Impossible could do wonders with the dining area but I definitely didn't want white table clothes and a maître de! As for the food..... that's the "winner winner chicken dinner" aspect of this place. While I didn't have chicken, I had the Brisket and the Sweet Pulled Pork, sides of Coleslaw and Fries and the Cornbread. I tried the Blue Bottle of sauce and the Red Bottle of sauce. The red was mildly spicy - nice amount of spiced flavor complimenting the sweeter blue bottle of sauce. Overall, the Brisket was very nice, not greasy or grisly and had an overall very pleasant smoky flavor. It wasn't served in any sauce so I dipped it in my combo-sauce and it was fantastic. The Sweet Pulled Pork came in a little bit of sauce and it wasn't bad. I decided to dip it as well and it was stellar. The 'slaw was saucy and not overly vinergary so not bad. The fries were unique since they're cooked in peanut oil - I used my combo sauce instead of ketchup and it helped them come alive. The Cornbread Ball was surprisingly good. When I saw this deep fried ball get put on my plate, I didn't know what to expect. However, I cut it into pieces like slicing an apple and was very pleased. The inside was warm (even after saving it for the last thing on my plate!) and light. I'm sure the outer crust would do wonders for a dieter but hey, if you're in a BBQ Joint like this, I hope you're not thinking Diet! For BBQ, the price is reasonable. The online menu is incorrect - expect to add about $1.50 per platter. Definitely worthy of a second or third visit!

I'm going to have to get right down to business: the food. The fried jalapeno cornbread - FANTASTIC. Don't ever change this awesome greasy ball of goodness. The sides were all great, especially the candied sweet potatoes. The ribs on the other hand... just OK. I will admit I have high expectations for ribs. Their sauces were good. The ribs were smoked well but a bit too chewy still (I like texture, but I think there was still a membrane of tissue/fat on them that didn't help the situation). Of 3 full slab orders in our party no one was impressed with these. The other 2 people actually left a half-slab on the table. It's not to say they were bad, but they wouldn't be my choice if I came back. A few people in our party got the pulled pork and said it was excellent. The brisket was also reportedly good. I'm a big fan of the service and the sides. The ribs being off may have been a 1 time thing since it seems they know the rest of their BBQ very well.

While the location and building is nothing special, the food is! My favorite is the Big Daddy's BBQ, which is pulled pork with their sweet BBQ sauce already smothering the meat. There are lots of great sides, but I always make sure one of my choices is the chips! Bonus, if you go on a Tuesday (like we did tonight!), you can get chips for free, allowing you to get even more goodness without having to give up the crunch. I usually get my pork as a sandwich, but my hubby forgoes the bun and gets the jalapeño cornbread. We do eat there, but I especially like being able to get the carry out so when I get sauce all over my face, no one has to see it!

I have not tried the food, my review is about the customer service. I live in California and wanted to buy food for a friend recovering from organ transplant surgery. I called Bubba Blues due to the great reviews on Yelp. The woman who answered the phone was great to work with and made it super easy for me to order food to be delivered later this week. She wrote down my payment info and said she'd run it the day of delivery and call me with the total. They really made this easy for me. She also discounted the delivery fee due my friend's situation.

Got pulled pork and brisket. Food was good, but serving sizes were small. Sides, beans and slaw were also good. Loved the fried corn bread balls. Over all, not a great value.

Memphis style bar-b-q in central Indiana. How can you go wrong? This place is delightful and the food is very good especially the brisket. Hope I can get back here some day to enjoy again.

Very good. The pulled pork and brisket were good. Ribs were good. Sides were plentiful and tasty. If Smoque in Chicago didn't exist, this place would be a five.

Overall great meat, good sides at a great value! Prices are great, about $10 will get you a nice helping of meat(s), a couple sides a piece of cornbread. Drinks are extra but water is free. Located in a strip mall and looks smaller than it is from the outside. Decor is about what I've come to expect at a bbq restaurant, lots of wood...wood floors, wood wall covering, wooden tables and chairs. Blues music playing, pictures of blues musicians on the walls. Typical blues-y atmosphere. Employees are polite and the place is clean and comfortable. Cafeteria style ordering. Just past the entrance, there are menus by the door. The menus can be carried with you as there's a place to drop it off by the order counter. Walk up to the counter to make order your main dish then slide down to choose your sides. They offer the standard bbq varieties...ribs, pulled pork (in both unsauced and a special saucy variety called Big Daddy's Sweet Pork), brisket, smoked turkey, sausage and pulled chicken. One thing I'd like to see that is not offered, as far as I can tell, is a whole or half chicken (I like thick, juicy legs and thighs). Three basic sauces: a standard sauce, a sweet and tangy with slightly spice, or hot. They also have something I've never seen before...a hot sauce bar with about 30 varieties of hot sauces. They don't put sauce on their meat (excepting Big Daddy's Sweet Pork). This is so you can taste the meat and decide whether and which sauce you want or enjoy the meaty smokieness of the smoked meat. I would like more desert selections than brownie or cookie (i.e. pie) but as long as the meal is good, desert isn't much of a concern. The meat is smoked (they say pork and beef is smoked for at least 16 hours) and has excellent flavor, very tender and flavorful. When I ordered the brisket, the server asked if I'd like the fat removed from my brisket!? As a self-respecting bbq eating man I stared at him like he was crazy then said "Nah, leave it in." Apparently they get a lot of terrorists or models, cause he responded "Finally, a person who knows how to eat." The loaded baked potato salad is almost too much...almost. Its very dense and tastes like a loaded baked potato but in tater salad form. Sweet potato casserole isn't as rich as I expected, which I like. I don't like my sweet potato casserole to remind me of sweet potato pie filling. Its lightly sweetened and topped with nuts. The jalapeno cornbread is fried. The outside is crunchy without being hard. The inside is dense and moist. The jalapeno provides flavor without much heat. Its a little sweet and very good. Mac-n-cheese was a bit of a let-down. Its good, not awesome. At other bbq places, I've come to expect a thick, gooey sauce loaded with cheesy flavor. But this was not quite there. Its not bad, certainly much better than the boxed stuff. It seems homemade and tastes pretty good but there's room for improvement. The next time I go, I plan to try the loaded chips (seems to be something of a specialty) and Bubba's big spud (a giant tater loaded with meat). If you get the chance, I recommend the brisket and loaded tater salad. Don't let them cut the fat out and add as much sauce you like....and of course sweet tea with lots of ice.

The best BBQ I have ever had. I can't say it any plainer than that. We bought a full rack of ribs and and pulled pork platter, both were excellent. Nice variety of sauces and very friendly customer services. I'll recommend this place to anyone looking for BBQ.

Very friendly staff and helpful in recommending the specials. I just can't give it anything higher than 3 stars. I've been there several times and i keep getting the food a bit Cool. The sides are pretty tasty. .

I learned about this little gem at a Yelp event highlighting Columbus businesses. Terrific BBQ pork in an unsuspecting location. BBQ is tender and smoky, just the way I like it. You order from a counter and walk down the cafeteria line and pay at the end. On Tuesday's they have an all-you-can-eat lunch special for about $11 which can't be beat.

In my opinion this place is going down hill. Use to like coming here but the portion sizes are getting very small and customer service is not all that good. The barbeque is just average. I think some competition in town could do some good.

I had wanted the pulled chicken but they were out so I opted for the smoked turkey. It was inedible. Very rubbery and, surprisingly for a bbq place, very processed and in fact resembled Spam. The mac and cheese was bland. The only thing I actually ate was the side of green beans. Not a good experience at all.

The ribs were tender and the turkey was smoked to perfection. I had the baked beans and they were incredible. The garlic mashed potatoes were just okay, but the fried corn bread more than made up for that. I will totally come here again.

My wife & I stopped here on the way through the area. The pulled pork was moist with great flavor. The brisket was good but I like sliced more than chopped. The cornbread was excellent. Definitely worth stopping!

Great BBQ at a more than fair price. The two meat platter including the sides was plenty for even a big eater. The meat was excellent just as was the choice and quality of the side options. We take an annual mountain bike trip to the nearby Brown County park and will certainly make this an annual stop for dinner.

This is great BBQ! Pork, brisket, chicken, turkey, ribs...they smoke it all to perfection. 4 different delicious homemade BBQ sauces. Meal combos ranging from simple sandwiches to 8 person family packs. You also HAVE to try the fried cornbread and loaded potato salad! Good daily specials, bottled domestic beers, catering available. Friendly staff, plenty of seating, clean, and blues music on the radio. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner.

Food was great! Nice texture to the meats, definitely wasn't over done, good sides, and nice BBQ sauces. Prices were excellent and the music was also pretty chill. I will definitely be stopping in the next time I'm in Columbus.

Had the brisket. Dry and tough. Cole slaw tasted like it was from the grocery. Beans tasted like they were also right out of the can but they added a TON of sugar. Wife and son both had the bbq and chips because they were out of potatoes. All chips and liquid out of the jar cheese. Very little BBQ. The fried corn bread was all grease. If you want good BBQ make the drive out to Hickory Hills BBQ by the outlet mall. It is the real deal and much better than Bubba Blues.

This place has about the best pulled pork I have ever had! The Big Daddy's pulled pork has the sweet and tangy sauce already mixed in and it is excellent. Or you can get the pulled pork without sauce and add your own. Actually the pulled pork is delicious even without anything on it. That barbecue flavor really comes out when you don't add the sauce. There are numerous sides available. We had the sweet potato casserole and the Mac and cheese. For some reason Mac and cheese seems to be a perfect combination with barbecue. I don't know what genius first put them together but he or she really knew a good thing when they found it. BBB's Mac and cheese is very creamy and rich. The sweet potato casserole is not as sweet as some but was really good. Sometimes this dish can be too sweet but it is nicely balanced here. Lunch of a pulled pork sandwich with one side and a drink was $7.25. If you are in Columbus Indiana you would do well to stop here.
