Villa Nova has by far the best pizza EVER. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. The crust is thin and crisp and perfectly complimented with a nice glass of wine and crayons on the table so you can do art, drink wine and enjoy your special date We have dined in, and had delivery and have enjoyed every bite. The service we have recieved has been over the top. I highly recommend Villa Nova for a special date night. Be sure to order extra so you have left over pizza for breakfast. It will still be delicious! YUMMMMMMMMMM

To start with a positive, I will say that their bread was warm, chewy and delicious. Can't get bread like that just anywhere. Dont get rid of it!! However, this place needs to step it up a notch. One of the people I was with got a glass of Chianti. The wine was old and reeked like vinegar. Had to send it back. The waitress should have offered to open a new bottle, but instead just asked if there was something else she wanted. Pizza we ordered was pretty good but we had ordered garlic and there was NO trace of it anywhere. We couldn't taste it or see it so I asked the waitress if maybe they had accidentally forgot it. When she came back from checking she told us they use GARLIC POWDER!!! They charge $2 per topping and they use garlic powder?! What a rip off. With numerous established pizza/Italian places to choose from in Chesterton, this place can't be skimping like that. I've heard other people say the place is "cheap" too. The waitress we had was stoic and uninterested. Boring! Would I go back? Nope, there are much better options. First impressions are important.

Villa Nova is by far the best pizza in Chesterton. We have been going there since they opened and everything has been great. Try the carbonara, It's fantastic.

Stopped here at random on a drive through the area (to see if we could find some color changes). We were one of a few people in the place so were seated right away. Both of us ordered one of the Paninis, I had fries, my mom had the fresh fruit. Might I say the food is really good and decent portions? Prices were not bad either and we both were able to get refills on our drinks. Will have to come back here and try their pizza sometime that everyone seems to like. Great find on the main street of a smaller community.

I wasn't expecting this place to be so good and reasonably priced! I had the Caprese sandwich with waffle fries and it was delicious. The portions are all a great size and the food quality was very fresh. The soups are all really good too. I liked this place so much the first time that I went back again in the same week! Next time I need to try the pizza, I hear it's fantastic!

maybe for the locals this is an OK place but I'm from out of town and that was kind of creepy to my wife and I. There was clean paper on all the tables but unfortunately we found a few dead bugs near the salt and pepper. But we decided to stay anyways because we were starving and we didn't want to go looking all over town for another place. The Fish Fry was the special so we ordered that and it was OK at best. 2 minutes after we placed our order we asked our server if we can't change it and he said no its too late which was kind of disturbing. The decor was very bland and looks like an old Chinese restaurants that was not doing very well.they do not serve you any complimentary bread or anything before your meal you have to order it separately. we decided to order some bread before a meal because we were so hungry and I have to say the bread was the highlight of the evening after that things got worse.

We are Chesterton residents and hadn't tried Villa Nova until recently. We've eaten there 3 times within the last 2 weeks, and have had their pizza (which had a very nice crust and quality mozzarella), Spaghetti and Meatballs (2 x's because the meatballs are so nice and light), Chicken Parmesan, Italian sausage and peppers appetizer, and calamari. The taste of the calamari was really good however it was overcooked. Like everyone else I can't say enough about the bread they give you with the entree. If you are used to the Chicago choices you might think differently about this restaurant. No, it is not posh, but is is clean and the servers are pleasant.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!!!. The service was good however, we ordered 2 pizzas, One came out with the wrong ingredients so we returned it. Then the new pizza had a Band-aid in between the pizza and the cardboard underneath it. Gross!! Staff apologized profusely. Finally, the third pizza was prepared correctly. Our second smaller pizza, had so much flour under it that our shirts got covered in it and we got a lovely mouth full of flour. But the kicker was when I got the bill, the pizza that we had to return twice and blessed with a band-aid was still being charged full price. When I asked about this the manager ultimately gave us 25% off the bill. Interestingly, the cheese sticks we ordered for an appetizer were good.

I can't speak for their pizza, but their French onion soup was pretty terrible, and the meatball sandwich was mediocre. The Cuban my wife ordered was fairly bland. May try their pizza sometime, but their entrees are off my list. Service was above average - so, points for that.

We ordered 3 sandwiches and left after 30 minutes since we still hadn't received our food. I could understand if the restaurant was really busy but the place wasn't even half full.

Good food, good service, simply straightforward American Italian food. Not much flavor overall.

Only place open in town on a Monday. Great pizza. We really enjoyed the pizza. They only had one waitress working the entire restaurant and she did great. *bonus: on our way home to Chicago we discovered my daughter had left her favorite stuffed animal at the restaurant 20 min after we left. We called and they found it for us. Thanks so much!

This place was outstanding! We recently visited from out of state and stumbled upon this gem after being told it would be more than a hour for the Octave grill which is nearby and not worth the wait. We arrived with our party of 6 and was very pleased to find they had a seat available right away. The host and waiter was very friendly and happy to take our order. When the appetizer of fried cheese arrived we were more than satisfied with the quality and taste and then the delicious warm bread to follow. Within our party we ordered 2 pizza and spaghetti and meatballs which was all top notch and left us stuffed!! Since then we have all continued to rave about the quality and taste of the cheese they use and their sauce was so yummy!! I wish we lived closer, if we are ever in the area again we will be visiting for sure~ =)

Villa Nova is a great restaurant with awesome food. I have visited this restaurant on several occasions, and ordered pizza and calamari each time. I usually try different items on the menu when I go to different restaurants, but I can't get enough of their pizza! It is a thin crust pizza, but you can order extra dough for a little under a dollar. The only complaint I have, and why I didn't rate 5 stars, is that the service is pretty slow. On Sundays they have half price pizza's and it gets pretty crowded so everything naturally takes longer. However, I have visited on days where we have been the only table in there and found that the wait time is comparable. It takes on average 25-30 minutes to receive your food upon ordering and it also takes around the same amount of time to receive your check and have them collect it. I'm not sure why this would be the case, but if you have over an hour to dedicate to dining out- this place is a must!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
