I have been here now on two occasions, once with a couple friends and once with my husband while on the north side. Both times we got basically the same thing... We started with the garlic rotolis which are very good. We got the pizza dipping sauce which is extra (only $0.25) but I didn't actually like it that much with the rotolis, I preferred dipping the bread in the extra garlic sauce at the bottom of the bowl, so I'll pass on that next time. Maybe the cheese sauce is better. We then got the pepperoni classico pizza which I think is delicious. Too many places somehow burn the pepperoni corners which I hate (I am weird) but this place does not. I am a huge fan of thin crust pizza (though I do love deep dish too!) and Tony Sacco's does it right. Perfect texture! The fresh basil is awesome but I would not have minded a bit more. Our service was great on our last visit, food was fast and then even currently offer a Yelp deal. One weird thing is it always seems to be kinda cold in there (maybe because of keeping up with the coal oven) so bring a jacket if you get cold easy.

Tony's is one of about 20 new "boutique" pizza joints that have appeared on the Carmel scene in the last two years. Overall the quality is good - I find the sauce to be rather sweet. The buffet today was well stocked, with a decent variety of pizzas to choose from. The location is great - right in the middle of Clay Terrace in Carmel. So, no complaints. But, my favorite in this area is still Crust on Old Meridian.

Awesome quality. Lots of seating. My only complaint is the price. Pretty steep for pizza

Took the family for pizza, we eat here frequently, pizza is always good, fresh toppings and a very good tomato sauce. Ordered the vegetarian it's our favorite, also had the garlic routollies with cheese and marinara sauce, excellent. I would give them 5 stars is they could make the crust consistently crispy. Our pizza was a little soggy in the middle, still love this place.

What an amazing experience!! The food was outstanding. If you are looking for a non food chain for pizza-this is your place. 1,000 degree coal oven cooks the pizza in 4-5 min and crisps the thin crust nicely. You have to try their Rotoli's, garlic bread rolls-amazing!! The service was also top notch!! Highly recommend.

Just moved to the area so I do not have much to compare it to here. However, I am guessing it will be tough to beat. The crust was great and the balance of sauce and cheese worked well. If you go, definitely get the garlic rolls to start. Be warned that you will get filled up on them. They are hard to push away. Service was great and the pizza was good. Can't say you can expect more from a pizza place. That is exactly how it should be.

I really want to give this place 3.5 stars. Darn you, Yelp! My Fiancee and I stopped in here on a random Thursday night after a few hours of shopping in Clay Terrace. They were not too busy, maybe 10 tables total. We were seated right away and our server was with us within minutes to take our drink order. They have great sweet tea BTW! Any place that has good sweet tea is a winner in my book! As for food, ordered the garlic rotolis. They are basically ginormous garlic knots. There are eight to an order, so come hungry! They were very good. We also ordered a 12' Capo pizza and substituted the mushrooms for green peppers. The Pizza was thin, crispy and cooked perfectly. Their marinara sauce is a little on the sweet side for my liking but it still had a lot of flavor. Their prices were a little steep, but I think that is the norm for brick oven pizza places. I would have given 4 stars if it were not for the price. Overall, we liked it and will probably be back.

Went out with the family on a semi busy Saturday night. First thing I noticed was that the waitress do not work very fast. Tables took forever to clean though the customer had left 10-15 minutes prior! OK, on to the meal...we ordered the bread, anti pasta salad and the BBQ chicken pizza and the pepperoni & sausage pizza! The rolls were awesome..the fresh basil set it off!! The salad was good...meaty!! The pizza!! Hmm it didn't wow me...the crust was thin thin thin...toppings was good but not much cheese. Not my first pick for pizza but pleasant enough....

I came here expecting to really, really, REALLY like this place. I'd heard a lot about it and finally had the opportunity to try it. It was....well, it was "OK" is the best I can give it. The pizza was no better, IMO, than a frozen pizza from the grocery. The service was average to below average. The price, for what you get, was, I thought, outrageous. I don't anticipate visiting again.

Lots of good pizza to choose from in a 5 square mile area so I try to spread the love. We get here 3 or 4 times per year. Overall tasty coal fired pizza with nothing but fresh toppings. I like that they have no freezers or fryers or microwaves here, just the freshest ingredients made to order. Have tried several of the flavors but Capo is our favorite along with the deliciously garlicybuttery rotolis! Great location and service is pretty good. Great place for families. Just go and do it already.

Pizza is okay. .tastes tomatoey. It was a slower time when we went, yet our server was often MIA... very slow on refills and finally just finished through most my meal with no drink. We were planning to get dessert yet she was already bringing us a check after finishing our pizza and never asked us if we wanted anything else.

Excellent!! Started off with the Italian style chicken wings and they were exceptional. They were hot, juicy and crispy. My family was impressed!! The pizza was amazing. The sauce was sweet and the cheese and meatballs complemented it perfectly. Crust was well done and not overdone and black like many coal oven pizza places. The staff was young and very professional and the server was polite. Overall, the best coal oven pizza location I have visited. We need one in Miami!!

How many visits does it take to determine if you "like" a restaurant or not? I've had two visits to Tony Sacco's in Clay Terrace. My first, I ordered a personal cheese pizza. The service was immaculate, but the pizza left much to be desired. I can appreciate the unique taste some may describe as "burnt" a coal oven pizza delivers. It would have been enjoyable with a nice, flavorful, homemade tasting sauce. I won't pout about the fact that it wasn't a crisp pizza either, because perhaps this is the nature of coal oven pizzas (especially after being sat in the to-go box for 45 minutes) so no complaints there. My second visit was much better. I was seated at the bar and had prompt, very attentive service. Deterred from the pizza, I ordered a cheese calzone with added spinach and sun dried tomatoes. It was very flavorful and I again was able to appreciate the unique flavor from a coal oven. My only complaint again, is the complete lack of flavor in the sauce. I'm not extremely picky, especially about pizza, but the sauce is extremely important to any tomato-based dish. I will go back to Tony Sacco's, I may have an even better experience than my second. Others have raved about their garlic roll bites, so they'll be next on my list! I'm not giving up on Tony Sacco's just yet!

I'm a bit surprised by the bad reviews. We've come here a few times and never had a bad meal. The pizza is good and has a good flavor. The service is some times slow but overall, we've enjoyed the food.

This place was just ok for me and I am willing to admit it could be because I'm a pizza snob. My hubs makes his own and his is really good which is why I have high standards from restaurants. The garlic knots were good once I realized they need to be soaked in the butter that sits at the bottom of the container. Otherwise they taste like boring bread rolls with a hint of garlic. I don't even remember the kind of pizza we ordered which to me, shows how unmemorable it was. If you are looking for great pizza, go to Pizzaology.

Tony Sacco's was a good pizza but not spectacular. The service was great and the atmosphere was OK, kind of wide open. Had their version of margherita pizza, it didn't have fresh mozz on it, just grated. Reasonably priced for the area.

This is the first one I have been to since I moved back from Florida, I don't understand the low ranking people have been giving this location. The staff was awesome, pizza was perfect as were the garlic rotolis. Normally this gets a location a solid 4 stars but with a check in on yelp you get FREE order of the garlic rotolis so I have to give five stars. Will be back (not a threat) for some tasty pizza.

We visited Tony Sacco's with friends before a show at Carmel Community Playhouse. The pizza was over-priced and merely average. Our waitress gave us mediocre service at best. I would go with friends if they wanted to go to Tony Sacco's, but I wouldn't make it a point to go out of my way to go back myself.

Crispy, crunchy pizza treat! Mutilated monkey meat...no wait that's the "Comet" song. Very good pizza baked in a 1000 degree oven. Crust is thin & crunchy. Right amount of toppings. The garlic rolls (they call them rotili or something similar) are very good, though they were a little light on the garlic this time. Usually there's enough to ward off vampires for a couple days (which I happen to like). Server was nice, took a while to bring our beers because their new pint glasses were causing "head issues". We had a good laugh about that. A favorite of my teen & tween kids & good enough that mom & dad like it too. We'll be back. And definitely no monkey meat or little tiny birdy feet.

Can I give zero stars? This place was horrendous. I went with my soon to be wife and mother in law. My future mother in law found an insect in her salad. We were obviously disgusted and pur server just came over and looked at it. No apology, no nothing. This is a serious health code violation and our server didn't care and nobody else at the restaurant did either. I can't eat at a place with that kind of regard for food safety.

  • Kami L.

The good news is that their garlic knots are full-on amazing, and their pizza isn't bad at all. Unfortunately, the service is SO SLOW, and the servers don't care. I work less than 10 minutes from there and we cannot do a lunch hour there and make it back in under an hour, and that's EVEN IF some or most people get the buffet!

  • Laurie B.

I love the pizza, because of the crispy crust. My husband got the Italian sub it was good too. The only negative is the food didn't come out at the same time. About 5min in between each of us and there were three of us.

Loved this place back home in Granger, Indiana. Once I moved to Auburn, I knew that my days of delicious Tony Sacco's were done and over. That was until we visited my brother in law in Noblesville. Driving around we found a Tony Sacco's and I could hardly believe my eyes! I was so excited that I made them go for lunch the next day (They're big McKinzie River fans) We sat down and had a free batch of the deliciously good garlic rotoli's (thanks free yelp offer) and since it was monday we enjoyed our specialty pizzas's for 12.95 each. We got a BBQ Chicken and the Meatball. Love the crust and the coal over style cooking because the flavor is like nothing else. Excellent wait staff and were very attentive and prompt with the refills. They have great iced tea here as well folks! Bottom line, if you love pizza and haven't been to Tony Sacco's, you are missing out!

I totally went to this place thinking I was going to get great coal fired pizza. Instead, I got inedible pizza with sicky sweet sauce! I couldn't even eat one piece, and that's never happened to me before with pizza. I was a believer that even poor pizza can be consumed until I went to Tony Sacco's. It was gross. I didn't want to be rude, so my wife and I told the waiter that we had a sudden family emergency and that we had to go. We paid the bill then bolted out of there to another pizzeria. That was a first for me. I should have known something was up when I walked in and the place was totally empty right in the middle of dinner time, and there was an pukie odor filling the place. Turns out the smell was the sweet sauce, which has a very strange aroma. I won't be back.

Have yet to order anything I haven't liked. It doesn't hurt that Italian is my favorite type of food, plus I'm not very picky, but the food here is great. The pizza is exceptional, being coal-fired. I've seen a couple reviews talking about how the pizza is "soggy". Never experienced that, but if every now and again it's a little flimsy, it's because it's thin-slice, essentially New York style pizza. If you want it a little on the firmer side, make sure to tell the server to have them cook it a little longer so it gets a little more crispy. The garlic ritolis are awesome, as are the wings, salads, wraps, and sandwiches. They have decent food specials throughout the week too, and the weekly buffet is awesome, especially at the price point. I've been going here since they opened back in 2010, and I don't see myself NOT doing so any time soon. Great all around!

Friendly service, good food. My favorite thing to order here are the garlic rotolis...they are absolutely scrumptious! The pizza is fine, although not my favorite. Our family of 5 ate here and I was the only one who wanted to go back. Don't go for the pizza, but do go for the rotolis.

I want my $20 back. This was a carryout order. I was out and about. Wifey called in an order on my way home and said be there in 10. I made it in 9. Pizza was waiting already. hhmmmm I made the .9 mile drive home, catching the both lights while green and dug in. The pizza wasn't done. The crust was baked on the edge, but not in the middle. Actually not done from the middle to within a half inch of the crust, or as I like to say, "anywhere there was sauce, the dough was still raw." I want my $20 back.

I have now been to Tony Sacco's twice. The service has been great. The first time I went was well after the lunch rush and before dinner, and I still received great service. The second time I picked up a carry out order. I love the crust of this pizza, but the toppings just don't knock my socks off. The crust is thin and nice and crispy on the outside, but still a bit chewy and soft. The coal oven gives the crust a nice flavor without overpowering it like wood ovens sometimes do. I think possibly the tomato sauce is too much or something. I taste too much tomato when I eat the pizza and I'm not overly fond of the sweet Italian sausage. I guess I like my sausage a bit spicier. Also, the second pizza I ordered was the Capo, which said it had "carmelized onions', but the onions were really just sauted and not camelized...they were still white. They do have some other interesting items on the menu that I would like to try. Their wings sound very intriguing. They are tossed in garlic and basil and baked in the coal oven. The garlic knots also sound yummy, and looked yummy too.

Wow I am shocked to read these bad reviews. This place is by far our favorite pizza place. Being from the east coast I am ALWAYS on the hunt for great pizza. This place is consistently awesome, every time and always. My Hoosier born husband loves it and so do the kids. We get the house salad and original pizza (comes with fresh basil on top). Same thing every time. They always honor our coupons from coupons4indy. The service isn't always the best but who cares about chatting with some teenager, we just want our delicious food!

From the get go we waited almost 5 minutes to be seated and there was Not even maybe 20 customers in the place! Drinks came out right away as well as appetizer, but they totally forgot to put in our order for the pizzas. The manager tried to blame it on them being busy but clearly not the case. My brother comes here a few times a year and says its not normally like this, but since they did fix it by giving us the whole meal free and drinks I guess the only complaint is we sat for nearly two hours for what should have been a at most 45 min lunch!

Tony Tony Tony has done it again... WOW, another great store in the Tony Sacco's family. Each one seems to be more beautiful than the last. What started as a single store near Naples, FL is quickly becoming a national rage. While this one is closer than the Naples store, I REALLY look forward to the Lansing & Detroit locations opening soon. My car gets good mileage, but it really kicks up the cost of a pizza to drive 3 hours one way. You ask: Is it really worth it, Shane? Can a pizza REALLY be worth that drive? I answer: Is the pope German? Hell yeah, it's worth it!! Go to TSCOP, ASAP and find out for yourself.

A fresh take on Pizza. My buddies and I stopped in while were picking up some furniture in the area. Wish these things were all over the state! I brought co-workers back when we were at a conference and they love it too! Wings are to die for and pizza just plain hits the spot. Fresh ingredients, great service, and a knock-out atmosphere. A+

This place is way over priced and the food is fair at best. The pizza is soggy, the chicken wings oily and they are not very accommodating.

    (1)
  • Nancy K.

Okay pizza, but not great. And for the price? A little outrageous. We ordered two pizzas. $37 later, I would have been happier with a competitor. The thin crust was too thin (limp - couldn't hold even the plain cheese topping). And, it bubbled A LOT. For the price, I really expected more/better.

  • Leslie H.

It was 9 PM on a Tuesday and they were still open for dinner! Hubby and I had their garlic rotolis and it came in 8 big pieces with dipping sauces for only $5. Then we shared a small Capo pizza and it was huge. It's 12 inches and it was definitely good for 3-4 people if you're ordering an appetizer as well. I like the fact that they have sweet tea and they offers a shortcake baked inside their coal oven. How interesting is that? The location is convenient as its in the Clay Terrace Mall and there's plenty of parking in the back of the building. Service was excellent and it's price right.

I've been here twice now for lunch and it's really great. Coal-fired Pizza ovens definitely to a great job on the crust and having a buffet that comes with a salad and fountain drink for $12 is a great value. They display six or seven different styles and the wait staff is attractive, friendly and attentive. Wow it closed a few days after this post, lol. Kudos to the franchisee for keeping up the quality to the end. Overhead must've been as brutal as the competition, plus all the rain we've had couldn't have helped a restaurant with outdoor access.

  • Nicole S.

Wood-fired pizza is some of my favorite pizza, and Tony Sacco's is pretty good. We started our meal with their garlic rotolis, which are buttery, chewy and yet slightly crispy rolls. Honestly, I could have just made a meal out of those -- they were so good! What made it even better is that we got them for free when we checked in on Yelp! We ordered a large pepperoni, which was big. The pizza was good, but soggy for the first several bites. Once you got almost to the crust, it became amazing and chewy, like wood-fired pizza should be. The sogginess kind of sucked some of the greatness from the overall meal, but it was still tasty, despite that. Service was excellent! We never wanted for anything. We'll be back!

Had the lunch buffet Came with a salad which was good and fresh Pizza was really good. Out of here for under $10. Nice to see a real pizza in Indiana.

Tony Sacco sure knows how to deliver the best pizza lunch buffet. You get a salad, drink, and all the garlic knots and coal oven pizza you can eat. The pizza is what you expect from a coal oven. I am very happy with the quality. Quick Tip: Get to the lunch buffet early, if you are nice to the throwers, they will put out the pizza you want on the buffet!

  • Kate G.

Oh, how i wish I could get here more! The Margherita pizza is the perfect balance of flavours and the crust on every pizza here is unlike anything in the entire town... thin, foldable and delicious. The salads are also a nice way to start a meal.
