Delicious donuts and really good coffee. I had the house blend and by god it tasted like coffee! Not that watered down stuff a lot of places try to sell. My son LOVES Choctaw donuts and this place definitely delivers. The owner is a very pleasant guy

Disclaimer: I don't really care for donuts. This place is pretty fantastic. I took my family on a Saturday morning and the place was packed. We were fortunate enough to get a table, but I'd really recommend getting your donuts to go. The highlights of my trip were the cinnamon sugar donut, the PBJ donut and the coffee. The PBJ is a great jelly donut with a peanut butter frosting. I'll be back for sure.

Yum! This place is way better than Jack!! There's parking everywhere! Donuts were awesome. Favorites were Cinnamin, chocolate iced, sprinkles & strawberry. There's nice seating including couches and tables. Coffee is great!

I really like this place! The ladies that work there are great and fun to chat with. The donuts are super tasty and always fresh. I find myself heading over there to get a coffee and two donuts more often than I do any other similar shop. Thanks Square Donuts!!

I had a wonderful experience here! I had 3 donuts...the cinammon sugar donut, the Apple filled, and a tactic tire. The last one was just because I was wondering what it was and the lady just gave one to me to try instead of describing it to me. She said people usually live it or hate it, and while I didn't hate it I probably won't get it again. The apple filled one was good but not great...I got it just because I like apple flavored things. The cinammon sugar one, however, was amazing! Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area. I gave it 5 stars for a well maintained location with friendly, attentive staff and delicious donuts.

So of course I decide to stop in on National Donut Day, myself along with the rest of the city! The line was out the door and starting down the block, at 7am, 30 minutes after they opened. I waited nearly 20 minutes, which, holy cow. But, I wanted to treat my coworkers so I stuck it out. I purchased two dozen and was inquiring about my favorite old fashioned, sour cream glazed, as I had seen some behind the counter. The rather snippy woman at the counter informed me I couldn't have those as they were a call in order. Umm, ok , had no idea you could call in an order for donuts! After I asked if there were more she gave me nasty look and informed me they were sold out and walked away. Yes, it was packed and hectic and stressful I'm sure, but let's not throw customer service to the wind here! Anywho, the donuts are tasty, definitely better than a chain place. I will return for my love of fried dough, despite the attitude. Word of advice, these are mainly yeast donuts. I'm big on cake donuts and they don't carry many varieties.

They're doughnuts. It's really hard to go wrong. And Square Doughnuts is really right. Tried the blueberry cake doughnut. It was still warm. It was crispy. It was so sweet and so good. Nice lil shop in the Arts and Design district. #treatyoself

I'm a huge fan of Jacks Donuts, but being a new business and closer to home, I wanted to give Square a shot. Lesson learned. Besides the absolute parking nightmare, the donuts were at best average and not nearly the same quality as the piping hot, inhouse made donuts at Jacks Donuts in Carmel. Their hours also leave a lot to be desired (6:30-2:00). I'm at work by 6:30, so it's nice to be able to grab fresh donuts at 5am at Jacks or on my way home since they stay open until 10pm. All in all, if you're already walking around the Arts District and don't mind spending 20 minutes trying to park to grab an average donut, Square Donuts is the place to go!

Not all donuts have to be round- Square are best! A welcome new addition to the Carmel Arts and Design District, Square Donuts hail from Indianapolis with the Carmel location the newest to the square donut craze. We stopped by this morning, their second day in business, and found a bakery case filled with pure deliciousness and a crowd with a lot of smiles. Yes, the donuts are really square. An idea that I believe gives them a branding edge over other bakery rivals. Lots of pipe filled classics with jellies and creams, sugar and cinnamon sprinkled ones, and others that will make it hard for you to decide. Baked fresh daily, these donuts are amazing. I was previously exposed to the donuts from co-workers bringing in lots of the talked about tasty ones to work. I knew then that when I saw the "Coming Soon" sign proudly displayed on the outside of the building that I would have to tailor my eating habits for the week to allow me to enjoy them. Several tables are available to sit and chat over coffee and donuts with a friend or family member. So start your visit on Main Street with a hot cup of coffee, a donut that proves that square is the next generation, and a stroll along the sidewalk to the stores that combined together make Carmel a great community to live and visit.

I was excited when my friend Niki invited me to Square for Wednesday Donuts!! Why the heck not. I don't normally eat them but I thought I would indulge. They were just OK for me. I know I'm weird, but I prefer Marsh donuts. I've been getting them since I was a kid, so I suppose there is a bit of nostalgia there, but Square and Jack's just don't do anything extra for me. The service is also just a bit "whatever" and no bathroom sooooo that is kind of annoying. Unless I missed it. I don't think I did. The mocha I ordered was BURNT and didn't taste good at all. The kids liked it, but they have never met a donut they didn't like. I do enjoy the tiny seating area and intimate feel but didn't feel very welcomed otherwise. Yes, I am looking for a warm and fuzzy feeling when I enter a donut shop and it just seems like you'd be happier to be contributing to America's obesity problem but man, the peeps who work here didn't even crack a smile. Lame duck....I mean, donut.

Tried one of their cinnamon dusted donuts at the Saturday Farmer's Market and loved it! I was shocked at how cheap it was (only $1!) and how fresh the dough was, especially since they had been sitting out all morning. This morning I tried a couple other flavours - chocolate dipped with Bavarian creme, apple and glazed - and enjoyed them even more the second time!

  • Torrey R.

Melt in your mouth yeast donuts. Warm them up for a few seconds in the microwave and you have a bit of heaven. Their other flavors were good but but their yeast were their stand outs. I would have to say that they are equal to Long's but not as good as Tim's. Worth trying.

Nice addition to downtown Carmel. I drive by this place every morning and we finally stopped by today. The place was very busy with lots of people running in and grabbing some donuts. I won't say these are the best I've had but they weren't bad and it's a nice little shop in a great area.

  • Chyenne A.

There's quite a few doughnut places to choose from... this is definitely the cheapest, most convenient, and friendliest. The doughnuts are yummy but the selection does run out quickly on weekends... The strawberry cream is my favorite... the kiddos love their crullers. Coffee is not so good but they do have fresh-squeezed OJ and hot chocolates and espressos. Again, the staff makes the place. Always warm, friendly and quick.

    (4)
  • Chelsy N.

Was not as impressive as I thought they would be, but my expectations are always high. Everything, including the service, was average. Coffee was nice, there's a variety to choose from. Donuts as well had a good amount of different flavors, making it hard to decide. I'll most likely come back when they're better settled in. I'm hoping they'll get more cozy or friendlier.

  • Kelly D.

Yummy, yummy, yummy! First time trying these and they were delicious. Will be going back for sure.

Enjoyed the maple cream filled, and the peanut butter and jelly filled square donuts. Like the location too.

  • Brian C.

I have been twice and both time the lack of selection of donuts was super disappointing. If you go stick with the non filled ones. The ones that are supposed to have filling simply just don't have any filling and will leave you disappointed. We bought 2 dozen donuts on our last trip and 18 of them were filled ones and they were basically empty. I am not sure who makes these or where they are made but there is no continuity or quality control when just about every donut had nothing in them. Maybe a machine makes them? Maybe it was broken on our last 2 trips here? I will give it 2 stars as the yeast and the cake donuts were good, but there are just too many other donuts places in town that are better.

    (2)
  • Chrissy C.

I won't go back. 2 bad trips is enough for me. I heard such good things, but we bought 2 dozen doughnuts, 1 dozen was supposed to have filling, but the sad amount that was in there was pathetic. We may as well should have gone to Dunkin at least I know they suck. Being square may be unique, but that's all they have going for them. They aren't iced well and aren't fresh tasting, but they are square.

Disappointing business practices. Honestly the donuts here are very delicious, however the majority of the time they are out of them. This morning was the FIFTH!!!, yes 5th time that I have shown up at this establishment only to leave with nothing at all. I understand that they tend to sell out of donuts, especially if you come later in the day. My issue is that when I show up at 7:00am to find a sign on the door that says the donuts are running late. This has happened multiple times. Obviously their donuts are made off site, which is no problem if your product is on the shelves when you open for business. There are plenty of other donut places around town who actually have donuts on their shelves when they open, those places will be getting my money in the future. Like I said earlier, their donuts are good if you are able to show up in the short window that they are actually available.

    (2)
  • Nicole S.

At $.90 a pop, these donuts are a good, little, inexpensive treat (or meal, if you're like me). I've tasted the glazed, maple and PB&J, and the glazed is probably my favorite.

  • Alicia C.

First impressions: friendly staff and some tasty, affordable doughnuts. I tried the blueberry cake and the chocolate square along with the apple cider, all of which were perfect for a cold fall day. I overheard the owner saying the cider came from a family owned farm in Vermont. The cider was great without being too sweet. There is a small parking lot on the side of the building and several tables to enjoy your doughnuts on site. Overall, this is a nice place to stop in and enjoy a doughnut and a great cup of cider.

When I first heard of Square Donuts, I was concerned that it was simply going to be a gimmick, with no depth beyond the novelty of a donut with a high efficiency shape for packing. I was mistaken. The donuts are moist and creative. I would definitely rank them with the likes of Longs or Taylor's. The service is friendly and the coffee is surprisingly good. I highly recommend spending a Saturday morning picking up a coffee and donuts and walking around Downtown Carmel as you enjoy your local donuts.

    (4)
  • T.j. K.

Good but not great but definitely worth another visit. I stopped in this morning after I already had breakfast so I only tried one thing. I had a regular yeast donut with chocolate icing. Like I previously said it was good but not great. Next time I definitely want to go with the ability to try other things because they had a PB&J as well as an apple donut that both looked very good.

    (3)
  • Linda M.

This place has been opened for about a month. A customer comes in one a time to order. I, on the other hand, was not impressed with their 90 cents / donut or $9 for a dozen. I had a bite of their lemon cake donut. It was ok, but I was not going to pay their asking price. They sell more than square donuts (who really cares for the shape).

What a great location! The yeast donuts are indeed square and very yummy. The cake donuts are round. Apparently the technology for square cake donuts has not been perfected yet. I sense a market opportunity here.

Love this place, fresh looking and clean.!! Staff is always bright and friendly. The Donuts are Always Fresh and yummy. I am a regular client buying the Traveler and 2 dozen to take to clients. I like the pricing and the fast response when requesting. Clients always say they are yummy and takes awesome. They enjoy the coffee and the different choices I have to bring. Enjoy the manager and the staff at this location. Keep up the customer service and the yummy donuts.

Not great, and pales in comparison to Jack's Donuts. I went there one day around noon. My donut seemed way overcooked, and my husband's seemed just plain stale. Nothing remarkable, and expensive for the level of quality. I probably will not go there again.

    (2)
  • Denise B.

Oh my gosh..these donuts are the BEST!! They actually melt in your mouth. The PB & J is outstanding. My youngest love the strawberries and cream. The customer service is also phenomenal! I'm so glad there is finally a decent donut shop close by.
