Fresh, quick, and perfectly street Italian! Piada has become a favorite in our household and I love how it's such a different take on fast food. We had some friends in town and knew that lunch at this spot would be the perfect option, and it was! I finally tried the "make-your-own" regular pasta bowl and was not disappointed in my choices. They have such enticing options and everything goes very well together. The Piada sticks are another fine choice. We ordered the pepperoni and loved it! AND, not to mention, they have Italian sodas!

Piada Italian Street Food is a great concept, executed beautifully. It differs from the usual Italian restaurants up here by limiting the menu to dough, pasta, and wraps. So don't go looking for an Italian Beef or pizza; it ain't here. What is here is great. I got a piada with calamari, which is pretty much a wrap with lettuce, parmesan and peppers. The calamari was crispy and warm, and went very well with the creamy sauce on the inside (the website says creamy parmesan but I'm convinced it was something spicier). The wraps they use are much thinner than I've noticed elsewhere, which means it stays out of the way regardless of what you put on it: veggies and calamari, or cheese. Combine this with some unique drink options, and overall you have the perfect place for a light lunch.

It's Italian Chipotle. Chipotle isn't really my thing so this place isn't really my thing either. There's nothing wrong with the food per se, but there's nothing extraordinary either. You select what you want with some ability to customize ingredients and toppings and they assemble it for you. It's fast and the price is reasonable and worth checking out.

I visited here for the first time on a weekday lunch hour and they were busy. I have nothing but positive words to say about my experience. The pasta carbonara I had was delicious and definitely a large portion for the regular size. They offer a smaller size for about two dollars less. It came with a tasty piece of garlic flatbread and I devoured it as well. My lunch date had the breaded calamari piada and it was very good and had fresh ingredients inside. It was a large portion as well! Friendly staff greet you upon arrival and you can add extra fillings to your item at no additional charge. The dining area is dimly lit and decorated very well. They offer a small outside seating area as well. The only negative I have is the music, as it can get quite loud in the dining room. As in, I feel like I am at a dance club and can barely hear the person across from me. Tips: A free drink is offered with a Yelp check-in! And try the Italian orange soda. One small size pasta carbonara + one piada + 2 drinks = around $21 with tax *Oh, Piada....the above review was my first visit back in the day. Now I visit you often. Great service, fresh ingredients, large portions, and delicious food everytime. You got me hooked. Congrats!

Chicken pasta carbonara is a very fresh dish. Setup like a fast casual restaurant (chipotle style) fairly fast and still tasty. Seems as though the menu is pretty limited. Make sure you grab a few peppermints because the garlic will wreak havoc on your breath.

Being familiar with the Italian Street Food concept I was really excited to hear about Piada (thank you, my Yelp friends!) and was happy to try it. There is an Italian Street Food restaurant in another city that I LOVE. So I had high hopes for street food close to my house. Service was quick and efficient. The employees were friendly and the dining room was attractive. Parking is plentiful but it is a very busy lot next to Earth Fair so heads up in the parking lot while walking to the door. I ordered a veggie pasta bowl. There weren't choices for pasta, only angel hair was offered. I was hoping for fusilli or rotelle like I get at the other Italian Street Food restaurant. The pasta, however, was excellent. It was perfectly cooked and tasty. The grilled vegetables were cooked just right. I tried the red sauce and then chose from a large selection of toppings. Now this is where I became disappointedin the quality of the food. The "fresh" vegetables weren't all fresh-tasting. In particular the mushrooms tasted old-ish and the taste of the artichokes was somehow off. Trust me: I love both mushrooms and artichokes and eat them on or in everything and these just weren't good. The other fresh veggies (and I tried nearly all of them) were all right but somehow lacked flavor. The peppers were a little watery and the ripe olives were kind of tasteless. I love the concept and will return to try some of the other selections and sides.

Fast, fresh and easy. Really enjoyed the meatball while they had it over the summer. Now enjoying the Italian sausage pasta bowl. They always add extra toppings if you ask. The pepperoni breadstick is good and spicy. The food is always consistently good quality.

The best Italian food I've had in a very long time! The pasta carbonara with the grilled chicken is delicious, highly recommend this restaurant!

Wow this place is seriously a great meal. Plan to spend around $10 for your meal but after you stomach that price you can move on to exploding your taste buds. Fresh, fast, Italian street food is the name of the game and until I ate here I had no idea what that meant. It means awesome Italian style burritos (called Piadas), flavor busting simple pasta dishes (with thin angel hair style pasta) and great salads. I highly recommend the Steak Piada, which features awesome steak, a spicy red sauce, a light caesar sauce and some veggies. To-die-for. Highly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner, just wish it was a tad cheaper so I could frequent there more often.

Fresh food. Customizable. Casual atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Give it a shot, my guess is you will be back!

Was quite dissatisfied with the food quality. This isn't good quality Italian. It's truly street food quality and most definitely not authentic. I tried the chicken carbonara. Anyone who has cooked carbonara knows about adding egg. There were no egg added which affected the texture of the food. The bacon in carbonara needs to be crisp until the fat is perfectly rendered. I believe here the simply used big chunky pieces of dried bacon. And tomato and spinach in carbonara? Whatever happened to the chopped parsley? Really expected a lot since I love Italian. I will come back again to try 2 more items before I write them off ( want o give them fair chance). But truly at this price point noodles and co is a better option. In response to Rachel - I heartily thank you for your response and offer of the gift card but would like to politely decline it. I visited your store again yesterday and have since come to a conclusion that fast casual Italian is not for me. It's just something with the finesse of Italian or say French food that I cannot picture in a fast or casual way. Grazie tante

I went to Piada with some coworkers for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the food! The inside of the restaurant is very modern, high ceilings, and wooden seating. It had a very open feel to it, which was nice since we were with so many people. The ordering process was easy--you simply get in the line and say what you want, sort of like a Chipotle. I ordered the chicken fritte Piada, which consisted of crispy chicken fritte, mozzarella, romaine, sweet/spicy peppers, and spicy Tuscan dressing. It was incredibly tasty and I loved every second of it. They are made of Italian thin crust dough baked on the stone grill prepared with the grill item (calamari, steak, or chicken), made with house sauce, cheese, and vegetables. You may add a side and drink and make it a complete meal, which is what I did. I got a Piada stick that is made of baked dough, pepperoni, then rolled with mozzarella cheese and olive oil. It was incredible! Don't forget to top it off with an Italian soda, or get a little nutty with a Peroni beer.

I typically have very limited time for lunch so I often frequent Piada after the Carmel 11-1 lunch madness power hours. I always order their chopped salad with all natural rosemary garlic lemon chicken and let them pile on those yummy market fresh toppings. Yes, I am fully aware there are other salad options in the area but there is something incredibly simple, quick, and delicious about a Piada salad. Number one reason I keep coming back are the selection of toppings. Compared to many other casual quick eateries they offer a nice variety of premium ingredients all included in your selected entree price. This doesn't just apply to salads but their other offerings as well. I love to add the grilled artichokes, peppadew peppers, and bruschetta tomatoes. At other times I like to add sundried tomatoes and sweet & spicy peppers. Whatever toppings I choose I am always pleasantly satisfied with the topping verses mixed green and protein ratio. No one ingredient seems to over power another which is very important in my salad. My second reason for coming here is the selection of dressings and sauces. Try mixing the fresh basil pesto and creamy parmesan for a flavorful combination or for salad simplicity opt for the skinny vin. A bad dressing decision can really make or break a salad which is also why I choose them over the salad bars up and down and across the street. I am always a bit leery about what I might find coming out of those economy size dressing receptacles and I am often dissatisfied and left feeling uneasy about those crusty containers. Piada on the other hand is not a salad bar but a quick salad option for salad goers. The dressings compliment your ingredients making your salad taste delightfully fresh. No crusty vats here! One of these days I will mix things up and try their signature Piada or pasta bowl offerings. They too look scumptious but in the meantime when I need my salad fix you will find me here...after the Carmel lunch rush, when the line is pleasantly shorter!

I have a buddy who is always raving about Piada, so I stopped in and gave it a shot. I was not dissapointed. I ordered the chicken diavolo pasta, which also had creamy parmesan sauce. I decided to top this concoction with pancetta (I absolutely love pancetta, and it was a very welcome surprise!), both feta and parmesan cheeses, artichoke hearts, and bruschetta topping. I probably threw some other goodies on there as well, but I can't remember everything I added. All of the toppings were fresh and really good. The crispy chicken added at the end was excellent. I wondered if all the toppings would overwhelm the amount of pasta in the bowl. The answer was yes and no. There were absolutely too many toppings; however, it made the whole thing even tastier! I can't wait to return and try some other options.

What's not to love about Piada? The crispy calamari Piada is absolutely the way to go. I say that 90% because it's absolutely delicious and 10% because I love hearing them scream "FIRE CALAMARI!". It's naughty to my ears. I recommend they cut in half so you can practice portion control. Moment on the lips, forever on the hips. Overall, very good service, food and brand. I recommend for a quick lunch or a tasty dinner. And if you think the calamari is naughty, give that pepperoni stick with some ranch a whirl and the naughtiness level will be off the charts. Proceed with caution.

I went here with a co-worker for a quick lunch a few days ago. Honestly, I feel pretty lukewarm about this place. My friend had one of their large pasta bowls and I had their chicken piada (chef special). The chicken piada had fresh veggies and some solid breaded chicken in it. It was good, but it certainly didn't blow my mind. My friend's pasta bowl was HUGE and she definitely had a second portion to take home with her. I didn't get to try it on our particular visit, but they had a tradition Italian soda machine that was very unique! The atmosphere was nice and comfortable, which was a plus. They even had some minimal outdoor seating. I'm not really sure why I can't fully get behind this place yet. I think maybe I need another visit to try a larger variety of their dishes/breads. I have high hopes, as the concept of a fast casual, authentic Italian eatery really appeals to me.

I've seen Piada on Yelp a million times and finally came here for lunch last week. I will preface this by saying that I was coming off of an awful bout of stomach flu, so my appetite wasn't up to par. BUT, this place was good. Was I blown away? Not quite. I had the pasta carbonara, and it was good. I wouldn't say that it was the best pasta I've ever had... but considering it's a quick style pasta place. So for what it is, it was good. I will definitely go back on a bigger appetite and see if it tickles my pasta fancy.

This relatively new restaurant in Carmel has quickly become by favorite eating spot. They have a simple menu and concept which works really well. The food is great and you can customize it however you want. The atmosphere is very pleasant. I have enjoyed every variation of the piada here.

Oops. I don't know how I've let it come this long without reviewing this place. I have been coming here since opening week and I've probably eaten here 10-12 times. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick bite around the Carmel area. The line tends to be long but they move people very quickly as they are very efficient in creating your meal. Think Chipotle, Moe's or Qdoba but with Italian food. Piada - Think burrito Noodle bowl - Think rice bowl Salad Bowl - Think...umm salad bowl They have a few side items you can order as well to accent your meal such as a Piada Stick which is basically a Piada wrap covered in oil and heated up with cheese on it until it melts. It is as delicious and unhealthy as it sounds. I think ONE of the sicks comes in at a whopping 500 calories. Absurd. You choose your meat which are delicious but very high in calories unfortunately. (I believe they cook things in massive oil) You follow that up with veggies. (Soooo many choices, make sure to get pancetta) You follow that up with a sauce or dressing (depending on salad or piada/pasta) You then pay at the other end of the counter and off you go. Fast Casual as it is meant to be. I can't give this place 5 stars as I reserve that for places that blow my socks off, and I am not quite happy with the calorie counts at this place but I fully like this place enough to work it into my lunch rotation.

I am happy to have this alternative food option in the area. The piadas are huge!!! I ordered the calamari piada off of the chefs menu. Due to the size I think I OD on calamari but it was tasty. The husband got a spinach salad that he enjoyed and the pepperoni sticks were a great option for our son. I look forward to next time to get the salad and piada combo.

I just had my first meal here. They sent me a coupon for buy on get one free. I am so impressed. It is like fine dining. Even the takeout containers are beautiful. The food OMG so good. I will definitely be back. YUM!!!

As a gluten free and dairy free girl I find myself ordering a salad almost everywhere I go to eat. As much as I love salad, it has become a pretty mundane thing for me- I never expect a really good salad anywhere. Unfortunately, I have become accustomed to just the 'okay' (I wouldn't order it again) salad. My first experience at Piada was outstanding. I ordered their Farmer's Market Salad and I was in blissful salad heaven! In all of my 22 years of living, and gluten free living this was the absolute BEST salad I have ever had in my life! The atmosphere is like chipotle, but a little more upscale. Casual, but cute. I absolutely recommend Piada Italian Street Food! Get in quick to grab the seasonal Farmer's Market Salad!

My coworker picked us up lunch; she got a salad with chicken, I got a piada (basically a burrito) with chicken. She said they were nice and she was excited about the food. One bite in to mine: RAW, PINK CHICKEN. Same situation with her salad. Both meals ended up in the garbage. We called, they were apologetic, she is going back after work for a refund. I know it wasn't intentional, but no way will I trust the food there again. First and last visit. Be careful- check your food before you eat.

Let me begin by stating the food at this place was really, really good. The line moves very quickly. The staff is working out some assembly line kinks, but that is to be expected in a new restaurant. The reason Piada only gets 3 stars is because of the atmosphere and noise level. Patrons are expected to share tables and it is SO noisy that I had to YELL the entire time I was in the restaurant in order to be heard by my party at my table (and there were only 3 of us) and the restaurant wasn't full. I COULD NOT WAIT to get out of Piada. I would definitely do carry-out from Piada if I lived closer, but probably won't be going back unless I was picking it up to eat somewhere else.

Been here several times and always pleased! Everyone in my family agrees this is the new favorite place to come. I'm stuck on the chicken balsamic salad personally, but rave reviews from the fam on their bowls and breads as well. Love the ability to add ingredients to taste and no extra charges. As an added bonus, they also have some Italian sodas available, which are refreshingly different. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

I tried Piada for a carryout dinner a few nights ago and it was a good meal. Service was prompt and friendly.... although I didn't eat in, the dining areas appeared comfortable enough. I had a Chicken Fritte Piada and a Calamari Salad (which came with a Piada Garlic Dough, a zesty bread baked with cheese and olive oil). Everything was very tasty. Based on my experience, I'll be back soon to try some of their other offerings.

I can't believe Boston doesn't have a place like this - I can't imagine anything better than an Italian style Chipotle! The menu is simple and concise, yet it offers flexibility to anyone who wants to get creative and build their own meal. I created my own Steak Piada and put diavolo sauce, spinach, sweet and spicy peppers, Parmesan cheese and pancetta in it. Even though I ate it a couple hours after it was made, it was better than any chipotle burrito that I've eaten. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Carmel!

    (5)
  • Katie U.

I finally tried Piada and it did not disappoint! Like other have said, it's very similar to the concept of Chipotle. Pick from a piada (similar to burrito), salad bowl, or pasta bowl. Pick your protein (there's vegetarian options) and select from a plethora of toppings. I opted for a salad bowl w/ zucchini, mozzarella, black olives, mushrooms, and mixed greens. They added the balsamic dressing for me and it was the perfect amount. This was honestly one of the best salads I've ever had! It's a popular spot for lunch, so get there early if you can. My friend and I were the only ones there at 11:15, but by the time we left at noon, there was a line to the door. Once you get to the front, it's quick service and your food is ready in under 2 minutes. It is a bit pricey - my regular salad bowl w/ drink was nearly $10. It was really tasty, so I will be returning to try a true piada in the near future!

For the record, I was the first one who suggested we try Piada, and NOT my mom. So now it's officially on yelp in writing. (except she really did suggest it first, but don't tell anyone that). Glad we did try it, this place is great! I read some other reviews where people were saying the owners didn't really like being called the Chipotle of Italian food, but SORRY BOUT CHA, that's what it is. Assembly line-style piadas (think like a wrap or burrito but Italianized), pastas, and salads. So far I have tried each at least once. I prefer the pastas and salads over the actual piadas, though. The prices are good for being able to create your own dish. Plus, they are adding some new items to the menu soon and including a deal where you can get a sandwich & side for a good price. One of my favorite parts is that they have a berry and orange italian soda (on the opposite side of the Coke). They are sweet but really flavorful! Do yourself a favor when you come here, and always try a little something extra. They have some delicious soup options, yummy piada sticks, and my favorite part - cannoli chips! These little items are only a couple bucks extra, but soooo worth it!

  • Chelsea C.

Piada is a regular in our restaurant rotation! The calamari piada is one of the best things I've ever eaten. I don't think I'll ever try anything else at Piada because I'd probably just end up getting a calamari piada to go! Soooooo good! Keep it up, Piada!

Found this place thanks to my fellow yelpers and it was awesome. Fresh food and great prices. We had the steak piada, piada sticks, and a balsamic salad. Delicious food and really nice employees. Definitely worth the visit.

If Chipotle had a brother from another mother...that will be Piada. The layout is pretty similar and the decor is more contemporary. It's a perfect place to grab a quick lunch and definitely on the cheap side. The portions are great and a good selection of meat for your salad, wrap or pasta. There's an Italian soda station that's refillable which I think is great. My fave aqua panna is also a main staple. I will skip the cannoli chips next time though. Overall, it's a great and cheap place for lunch or maybe a take out.

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.. We ordered our meal to go and the meal was pretty much ready when we asked for it. We had the pepperoni roll and it was very tasty, just be prepared for the grease dripping from the pepperoni being cooked.. Tasty My wife got a salad and it looked very fresh and the size was impressive.. She liked it I got a wrap and it was just Eh.. The steak had very little taste, the veg were seemed fresh... The sauces were good..

  • Jennifer H.

I'll give it one more try because in theory I should like it a lot more than I did. I think I wasn't sure what to expect so I kind of fumbled when it was time to order. It was so crowded and seating is limited - I was more focused on finding a table than I was what I was actually going to eat. I ordered a piada that wasn't spectacular. I want to try the basil pesto next time. We tried a garlic dough though and that was really good.

Fresh, delicious fast-casual restaurant near Earth Fare and City BBQ on Rangeline Road in Carmel. I've attempted to eat at Piada in Columbus, Ohio, on several occasions but the line out the door has always been a deterrent. Luckily, this particular Piada in Carmel is brand new and not busy...yet! It's similar to Chipotle: you choose to either get a wrap (a Piada), a salad, or a pasta bowl. Then you pick a protein: chicken, calamari, salmon, steak, sausage. Then you choose amongst a dizzying selection of veggies: mushrooms, artichokes, onions, eggplant, arugula...you name it. Last, pick one or more sauces: red pepper pesto, diavolo, creamy Parmesan to name a few. Like Chipotle, it's hard to find a meal less than 500 calories. I sampled the artichoke Piada stick -- basically a stuffed breadstick. Good, but not healthy! I ordered a chicken chop salad with a mix of balsamic dressing and red pepper pesto. I added practically every veggie they had. The salads here are huge and run about 7 bucks. Recommended if you are in the area. 3.5 stars.

Worked at Olive Garden for so long but love their food. It was a different atmosphere than other restaurants. I would recommend the chicken piada the fritta one not the grilled, it's less healthy but tastier.

The Farmer's Market Salad is one of the best salads I've had in long time. I'm a little panicky that I won't be able to make it back to order another before the seasonal special is off the menu. Seriously, it's that good. Even better than some of the entree salads at fru-fru restaurants. I liked trying the Italian soda, though it was too sweet for me. My daughter had a sorbet that looked and tasted more like a Dairy Queen blizzard, but it was delicious too. Will definitely go back soon!

Very cool concept! Never been to a place like this before. When I thought "Italian street food" I was almost thinking it would be like fazolis with spaghetti and meatballs. Tell me, have you ever been to a fast casual restaurant with calamari?! I can now say that I have! I got a steak piada and learned that it looks like a burrito wrapped with a crepe, but tastes like fresh Italian heaven! If you're a soup lover definitely get the lobster bisque! So creamy and rich and perfect on a fall night. I had to give a 4 because we went at 7:30 and the place was pretty dirty (not many tables cleaned off - yet nobody sitting at them). We were one of 3 tables taken. The service was lacking a lot too. Everyone working up front looked like they were young high school students. I'm all for high school kids working, but it didn't look like there was any older manager there supervising And they were goofing off quite a bit. Not in a fun way, in that "I'm so bored of being at work" kind of way. The Italian soda area was a pretty cool concept, but I didn't try it because I felt there was no explanation on what to do. I think if a manager came in and did a little revamp with the crew and got the cleaning on schedule it would be a 5 because the food was delicious and very affordable!

  • Pete F.

The layout and look of the place is very modern/simplistic. I went with the boss (Wife) there for a quick lunch, we got a chicken salad and one of the calamari wraps. Everything was flavor intensive and very fresh. The reason it got 3 stars was because the over use of the sauces and dressing. I love flavor but I am not the average American that thinks more sauce is always better. To make this a 4-5 star experience order the sauce on the side.

Prego! This place enticed me from the title when I was walking out of the "sorry we are closed" (but excellent when open) chinese restaurant next door... "Italian Street Food". Glad to see no pizza or gelato... Happy to see chefs in white standing behind a hot table of various Italian dish ingredients. Very simple and easy to use menu with choices. Price for a filling lunch of quality pasta, grilled meat choice, grilled vegetables, and sauce along with added no charge topping of cheese, mushrooms, and other delights: $8.95 b-4 tax and drink. I forgot to mention lobster bisque or tomato basil soups choices too. Included. Welcome to Rome.

Cute restaurant that's set up exactly like a Chipotle but Italian food. The tomato soup and bread stick are good. The chicken pesto bowl is just OK, nothing impressive. It's alright for something quick.

To quote Fallon as Sara, "Eww". Not impressed with the food, flavors, the amount of salt on the food or the "Italian Tea". I am NOT recommending this. I was really excited to try this concept but can say clearly I was mistaken. Skip it and save yourself the underwhelmed feeling you get when you choose poorly. Parking was fine. The place seemed clean.

I was pretty excited about this place, and very much looking forward to trying it. The one good thing was my salad, it was VERY good, and well mixed. I got an Italian sausage piada, and that had to be the blandest Italian sausage Iv'e ever tasted. Seriously, no taste. VERY disappointing. My wife got a different kind of Piada...I don't recall which one...but her experience was much like mine. She got soup and said it seemed like it was straight out of the can. And I thought it was VERY overpriced. 2 small Piadas, one salad, one soup, 2 soft drinks, over 25 bucks. Yeah.....thanks..........but no thanks.

  • Tammy G.

I cannot figure out what people like about this place. It looks pretty. The food, however, is so bland. I had a pasta bowl and literally had them throw just about every ingredient they had in there, but still there was absolutely no flavor. The only thing anyone in my family even remotely thought was good was the pepperoni piada stick. I kind of felt like I was eating nursing home food.

Like most say this is basically an italian version of Chipotle. Thera is nothing wrong with that as I am a very big fan of Chipotle and enjoyed our visit to Piada. The food was good but not great but if you get the combo you can get a very filling meal for a good price.

What a solid concept and option for italian food. Love the overall experience/layout for fast casual spot. Ingredients were quality, serving size of the pasta bowl was huge. I opted for chicken, alfredo w/ red pepper basil pesto with lots of fresh cheeses & veggies. Absolutely Loved it. Will definitely be back! I hope indy gets addl locations. We need more spots like this for those on the go!

  • Jon B.

So damn good. This place is one-of-a-kind in the Indy area. Phenomenal service every single time but the food is incredible. I love the chicken (chipotle?) piada but the balsamic chicken salad is one of the best salads I've ever had. Great food for the money and I know I'm never walking away disappointed and can be in and out quickly during lunch at work.

The best Italian food I have ever had. Long lines and exhausting wait, but well worth it. There food is to die for and they have a wonderful soda selection with is all made fresh that day.

I was excited to try Piada, which is similar to an Italian version of Chipotle, on a recent trip hope to Indiana for the holidays. The first choice on the menu is deciding whether you want a salad bowl, pasta bowl, or piada (similar to a tortilla). I had to try a Piada of course as its the name of the restaurant. You then select your meat or veggie selection and then add the sauces. There are a wide variety of protein, veggies and sauces to add, almost overwhelming with so many choices. I liked my selection though as every bite was packed with flavor. Others in the group thought it was a little messy, so be prepared if you add too many ingredients. It is too be determined if Piada will take off like Chipotle, but it is a great option for lunch in the Carmel area for a very reasonable price!

Don't bother downloading their app, they can't currently accept it for payment. The food is expensive and mediocre for what you get.

While driving about in Carmel and looking for new places to eat, we spotted Piada. I had heard of this "Italian Street Food" spot but had forgotten all about it. I was pretty excited to try it out. The food is setup on a line, cafeteria style. You first choose from pasta, a salad, or a piada(thin Italian style flatbread). You then proceed to choose a protein, sauce(or dressing), cheeses, and veggies. Simple, fast, and tasty. I went with pasta with alfredo sauce, a squirt of basil pesto, Italian sausage, feta, zucchini and mushrooms, and sundried tomatoes. The portion of pasta was massive(way too much in comparison to everything else, and in general) and the sauce was light. But that's my fault, I easily could've asked for more. I don't expect their portions will remain that big though. The food was solid all in all. I'll definitely go back to try more! I was interested to read that they come from Columbus, Ohio. Also where Matt the Miller's came from. I'm not sure how long they've been open, but I know it hasn't been for long. I know they do good business in Columbus so I hope it picks up for them here in Carmel. Word of mouth goes a long way, but so does advertising.

The food was very good but no excuse for dirty tables and a dirty floor at 6:15 on a Friday night. They need someone working the dining area cleaning the tables and floor. I even saw several patrons wipe off their own table.

I like the style of ordering at Piada. My boyfriend and I split a pasta a can't remember what we ordered exactly but it had shrimp, veggies, and a mix of Alfredo and red sauce. I also had the lobster bisque soup which is what I loved. A great place to go for a fast lunch.

Love, love, love this place. Piadas are good. Pasta is good. Soups are good. Prices are good. Everything is so fresh and flavorful and so many toppings and sauces (I recommend the creamy parmesan) to choose from. l'll be singing Piada's praises for quite a while, I'm sure.

Continued 5-Star experience that I have experienced in OH. The entire team did an awesome job on their first "officially/unofficial" catering order today. Clients raved about the fresh salad, veggies and of course the Piada Sticks and Cannoli Chips! I will certainly be back. I will refer you guys in a heartbeat! -JP

Agree with Leslie. Pretty good. Love adding stuff to my pasta. It reminded me of how I make it at home. Leftover mushrooms, Green peppers, zucchini? Just throw it in. Maybe a bit pricey but fast. Got it done. Lobster bisque was really ok my 18 yr old will like it.

I've been to Piada twice now. I have tried a few different things. The food is just ok. It's not bad. Today I tried the calamari. I was left wondering if it is actually real calamari. It looks extremely processed, so I don't know. It was a little mushy also. That may have been because they were rushing to complete my order. I ordered online for pickup and when I walked in the girl at the counter had no idea what was going on. She found my order and quickly prepared it. She offered me a drink while I waited. She appeared to be the only person doing any work. I could visibly see two employees standing around eating in the kitchen during all the time she was rushing around. She asked a female in the back to put in the calamari and that woman rolled her eyes sufficiently enough at having to put down her food to do her job. Overall, my food was out to me in just a few quick minutes. So the wait was not a big deal. The lobster bisque is pretty good, and I'd go back for that. I've tried the carbonara and it was not my favorite. When I read all the other reviews though I wonder if maybe I just haven't learned how to spice up my dishes yet by adding extra ingredients. This place has potential, but I definitely felt sorry for the girl serving me today since no one else really wanted to do anything. If it weren't for the poor service of the other employees today, and actually seeing them eat in the kitchen, where food is prepped, I would have given at least 3 stars. However, seeing them eat in there, in clear view of ALL the customers was very unprofessional, unsanitary, and kind of made me lose my appetite. I'm on the fence about going back after two, just okay, meals.

Tonight we decided to try something new for dinner. Piada recently opened in a revamped strip mall in Carmel. We pass by here frequently and were intrigued by the concept of Italian street food, so we gave it a try. I can sum up Piada in very few words: overpriced fast food. I was expecting something really special, especially given the cost of our meals. But Piada just didn't cut it at all. The atmosphere and music did not help. Electronic and sterile, I am quite certain that Italian street food in Italy is absolutely nothing remotely close to this.

Yeah, good place for quality Panera-like Italian streetfood. Think Starbucks meets Chipotle, which is what it is : a little pricey, a little chichi, and very clean and pseudo industrial. Oh and the sandwich i had was good. Not the best value but a good place to hang. Food 3 Value 2 Service na Atmosphere 5

If Chipotle birthed a bland, Italian quick-service baby, it would be Piada. The food was just okay, not memorable. I would stick to a Piada (basically an Italian burrito) or a chopped salad over the bland angel hair pasta option. The good thing is that the cheese, veggie, and sauce/dressing options are numerous. I do recommend trying one of the Piada sticks if you have someone to share it with. I do not recommend shelling out the extra cash for the crispy chicken fritte as your protein. It was chewy, spongy, and anything but "crispy." The Italian sausage wasn't bad, though.

This place is Fantastic! The atmosphere was the first thing you notice when you walk in. They have all the food "chefs" in actual cooking attire not what you expect to see nowadays, with a couple teenagers wearing t shirts making your food. The next thing is the music, its very upbeat, gets you into the environment for sure. But one of the most important things, is the service and this place went above and beyond. When you go in for the first time its a bit intimidating, with all the choices and not knowing how they work. But They had an attendant asking people if they had ever been with them before and making sure that everyone knew how the system worked before he left. The food was awesome I had a Piada with calamari and it was awesome! They allow you to choose between three options: A Piada, an italian burrito (with or without pasta), a pasta bowl, and a salad. Then you get the choice of 6 meats, the grilled chicken is all natural which is a big plus. Then you get to pile as much of the add ons as you want on top. Pasta sauce, Veggies, Mushrooms, and they dont charge extra for any of it. This Place is one of the best on the go dining experiences I have ever had. Highly recommend you give this place a try!

Coming again and again...I still love this food! Chicken Tuscan salad! Yum!!! I could eat here three times a week. Ingredients are fresh. If you want lower calories, custom make your ingredients and pass on the bread and reduce the sauce or dressings. I can't think of a place I'd rather eat lunch.

I liked it - Ten bucks for lunch with a soup and a wrap is not "way overpriced" - it is the going rate - at least for most decent places. The soup portion was large - tomato basil was creamy and enjoyable. Not out of the can as someone suggested. Calamari wrap was good and I liked being able to pick the fixings. Very friendly nicely dressed staff. I also have enjoyed the artichoke piada stick - two bucks and interesting.

This is a simple menu but they don't cheap out on the ingredients It is well staffed for the lunch rush. The "italian Chipotle" tag is correct. The piada is much like a burrito but with a nice thin flat bread. There is also pasta or a salad available. Lots of choice on ingredients. Decor is stripped down a bit- but in a good way. Prices are good.

So I would be describe this as Chipolte for Italian food. That being said I totally love this joint. I have been three times in the last three weeks. I am a bowl and pasta guy. My daughter did try and love the piada. Each time I have tried a different protein and each time it has been outstanding. I have tried two of the sauce and both are delicious. My favorite is the sweet, spicy, peppers and the artichokes. Oh way maybe it is the pancetta that I love, oh maybe it is the mushrooms. You get what I am laying down. The toppings at this place are out of this world. I have gotten the Cannoli Chips and dip twice and they are way better then any gauc and chips you can get at Chipolte. The drinks are cool as they have some different selections on the other fountain. The interior is very clean and I like the atmosphere. Every time I have gone someone has encouraged me to try to sample something different. If you are looking for something fun and different, I highly suggest you check it out.

Where, oh where has this been all my life? One visit and I'm already kinda hooked. I wasn't quite sure what to expect upon walking into Piada...all I knew was that Italian street food sounded very intriguing. Piada has a very modern vibe and is an upscale chain place with a fast and efficient, yet refined atmosphere. Usually this correlates to priciness, but in this case, not really...it was pretty inexpensive, actually! My mom and I both ordered the carbonara bowl and my dad had one of the other pasta bowls. We were all very pleasantly surprised at how good they were...fresh, healthy ingredients and loads of authentic Italian flavor. Places like this are so much better than the Italian places that just serve dingy, greasy pizza and spaghetti...neither of which you will find here, by the way. The bread that comes with the bowls was good also, but a little too heavy on the garlic. Perhaps the best part of the meal was the cheesy, bready goodness that was the piata roll. It. Was. Heavenly. In fact, it was so good that once we finished eating our main entrees, we had to go back and get another one. (And some canolis to boot!) To put it short, I'll be back...fairly cheap, delicious food and good service.

Upon first impressions Piada reminded me of Chipotle. The feel of the restaurant is casual chic. You order behind a glass counter which allows for transparency in your food preparation. Everything was extremely clean and organized throughout the entire place. You have three entree choices : piada, pasta bowl, of a chopped salad. The Piada is a rolled, stone grilled wrap. You have the option to create your own or choose from their list of flavor combinations. It's an incredible value for the price and you won't be disappointed by the quality of the ingredients. I will definitely be back to try other menu items.

That atmosphere is great and you can order from their menu of pasta creations or create your own..Tons of items to choose from to put in..and the tomato basil cream soup is the best I've ever had! The pasta carbonara is good..i suggest asking them to add a small amt of pomodora sauce. Make sure to get the Italian soda on the opposite side as the regular soda fountain!

This relatively new restaurant in Carmel has quickly become by favorite eating spot. They have a simple menu and concept which works really well. The food is great and you can customize it however you want. The atmosphere is very pleasant. I have enjoyed every variation of the piada here.

  • T.j. K.

-JP

  • Sara P.

  • James M.

  • Steve G.

  • Lauren T.

  • Melissa C.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
