Came in late on Sunday night and we were treated to exceptional food and service. We found the taste and quality of the food to be among the best Thai food in the area. We will definitely come back and look forward to another reason to eat in Downtown Carmel.

First visit, was really looking forward to trying this new restaurant as being from the west coast good ethic food is hard to find, especially in the Carmel area. Now it wasn't terrible, but I wasn't bowled over. I did a take out order right after they opened for diner, so maybe they were still prepping or something, but I will give them a 2nd try and repost.
(2)Stephanie Z.
Their lunch special is worth the stop -- dine in or carryout. Soup, salad, spring roll, & main dish. Love both their red and green curries.
(5)John S.
Ate here on a Sunday evening, so they may not have had their top talent in the kitchen, but not that good. We had a party of five, two of us ordered Pad Thai, thinking that it should be good, they named the restaurant after it, but we were wrong, not good. Service was average at best, not going back soon.
(2)Dave H.
The food and service was great... I can't wait to come back. We got chicken satay as an appetizer, pad see ewe and seafood panang for dinner. Very convenient location off the Monon downtown carmel.
(5)Rachel L.
So good can't wait to be back!!! Amazing food and great service. Happy this place is in carmel
(5)Adam Y.
We were seated and given silverware. No one came to check on us or take our order for 20 minutes after that. People next to us got up and left as well.

Really authentic delicious thai food. A little pricey but worth it for fresh ingredients.

On the first visit, my husband and I picked up some Pad Thai for dinner on a Thursday night. It was so good we ate it again two days later and then a week after that! So far we have tried the red curry, mango curry, pad thai, pad se ew and dumplings. The quality of the food is very high. Their curries are some of the best we have had. They are very fresh, clean and full of flavor. The Pad Thai was also delicious, although not the best in Indy in my opinion. Their staff is very friendly, social, respectful and accommodating. The first time I went in to order pick-up, the host served me a to-go cup of ice water while I was waiting. I thought that was very thoughtful and shows that they poses a very high level of service. We love that they give you more options for levels of spice. They have over 5 levels of spice! We have not been disappointed with a single aspect of the restaurant in the 3 times that we have visited. We have already told all of our friends and plan to visit many more times!

Two stars dedicated solely to the peanut sauce. The pad Thai has far too much fish sauce & the tofu in my vegetable dish was barely cooked. Yuck.
(2)Bodie S.
I went here with some coworkers for lunch and was very happy with my experience! Their lunch menu is quite large and all the same price ($8). To start, I ordered a palm juice because I had never had it before and was curious. It came in a tall glass and tasted great; it was quite sweet. I ordered the Pad Ped with stir-fried beef, bamboo shoot, green beans, bell pepper, basils, and red curry paste. It was delicious! All meals are served with a spring roll, coconut soup, and a small salad. You can pick chicken, beef, pork, tofu, or veggie. You select your spiciness also: mild, medium, medium hot, hot, extra hot, and Thai hot. I went with the medium on this particular occasion and it was pretty tolerable, though towards the end of the meal I admittedly was sweating a bit. Excellent little lunch and dinner spot!

A new restaurant in Carmel's Main Street district is nothing terribly out of he ordinary. A new Thai restaurant on the other hand is very unusual, so I was really excited to try Pad Thai. I visited with a friend (whose review can also be seen here) and had a very nice first experience. My massaman curry was absolutely delicious, though not the best I've ever had. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get it without pineapple but a server informed me that they make each dish to order- great surprise, as I was dubious. Another surprise, as it wasn't mentioned on the menu, at least that I saw, was a small cabbage, carrot, and chopped peanut salad of sorts. I'm new to Thai food so if it has a proper name, forgive me. As far as service, I was very impressed. We had one specific server but everyone there was incredibly attentive to our table and clearly concerned with our experience. Unfortunately not all new restaurants are so concerned with first impressions. My one and only complaint is the atmosphere. From a decorative standpoint, Pad Thai is very appealing. Fairly modern style with comfortable tables, somewhat minimal wall adornment, and a very easy, clean flow to the dining room is great. However, the complete lack of music severely detracted from this ambiance. Not only were there several other tables in the restaurant, all of whom we were very aware of due to the near silence, but we could hear a radio station playing from the kitchen. Obviously I wasn't expecting a private booth but it is somewhat uncomfortable to fine and feel that your entire conversation with your companion can be heard by everyone else in the restaurant. I hope that my only complaint is simply due to the recent opening of the establishment and still very much encourage any interested yelpers to quickly check out Pad Thai. With a decent bit of music to round out the ambiance, I look forward to returning to Pad Thai and updating a 5 Star review!

On a recent trip to visit friends in Carmel, we made our way to the quaint little downtown walking area to listen to some live music and catch a bite to eat. This new Thai place had just opened up a few weeks back and we decided to give it a try...good thing we did! All of the dishes our group shared were good... we had Chicken Satay, Pad Thai and Tempura Shrimp as some of our main courses. But I have to tell you, quite possibly the best dish we ate was the Thai fried rice made with (really!) fresh vegetables and a wonderful sauce. We would come back for this dish alone, so don't pass it up!
(4)Craig S.
A friend and I visited Pad Thai around 8:15 tonight for dinner. The restaurant had about 4 other tables that were eating while we were there. The atmosphere was very quiet and it was pretty easy to hear what everyone else was saying. The place could benefit from some music to improve the vibe and make it so people don't have to whisper to one another. A basic sound system and a good satellite radio station would be a worthwhile investment. In terms of the food, everything was great. I tried the red curry chicken and my friend had the massaman curry chicken. We both really enjoyed our meals. Everything was very fresh and the portion size was perfect for one person. My dish may have been a little light on the quantity of chicken, but there is very little room for complaint overall. The servers all seemed very friendly and attentive. It was apparent that they cared about what was going on. In summary, the food was great, the service was good, and the atmosphere is certain to improve after a few minor tweaks. Definitely worth a visit for anyone in the mood for some Thai food.
(4)Linda L.
Went here Saturday night. It was a great night to sit on the patio and watch the runners go by on the monon. The place is tucked right behind Scottys so you still get to listen to their music. Service was a little slow, but I think for non chain restaurants it's understandable. The food was good but be warned they are on the spicy side. Even the mild orange chicken had a bit of spice to it. The pad sie iew actually has the big fresh wide noodles not the dehydrated kind, and we're very tasty. The noodle dishes have been winners to me over the rice based dishes.
(4)Thanarat W.
All foods are great!!! Everything you have a choice of meat and how spicy would you like. It's start from mild, medium, medium hot, hot, extra hot or real Thai hot. Omg i love real Thai hot. It's Awesome
(5)Brian L.
It's good Thai food but it's not amazing. That could be because I'm from Seattle and used to stellar options but there was nothing about the food that made me need to (or excited to) come back. This definitely falls under the A-OK rating in Yelp. Also, fairly expensive for what I'm used to when ordering Thai.
(3)Katie U.
I thought Pad Thai was a solid choice, but I'm not itching to go back. It's conveniently located in downtown Carmel across from Bub's, right on the Monon and near lots of little shops and galleries. There's also a free parking garage nearby. My group ordered the tofu fresh salad rolls and veggie tempura for appetizers. I thought the fresh salad rolls would be more like pot stickers, but they weren't and I found the rice paper wraps a little hard to chew. Veggie tempura is simply deep fried mixed veggies. For the entrée, I got sweet and sour chicken. You pick the meat (chicken/beef/pork/tofu/veggie) and the spice level (mild/medium/medium hot/hot/extra hot/Thai hot). I got the mild to be on the safe side and I was pleasantly surprised with my choice. There was still a little kick (not much!) and it wasn't super noticeable. A friend got medium hot curry and it was too spicy for her taste! I recommend going one spice level below what you think you want. Entrees came with a bed of steamed rice. It's small but quaint, and for the holidays they had string lights that enhanced the ambiance. It feels very modern; not tacky at all like I was expecting from past experiences with Asian cuisine. It's good, but not "oh my gosh running back there right now" good. Try it next time you're in downtown Carmel!

Great great great great! I went with my friend after school around 4:30 and we were the only ones at the restaurant. Ordered original pad Thai with veggies. The medium spice was decently spicy but tolerable. Think hot Cheetos-esque spiciness. It was definitely some of the best pad Thai I've had. Order came out in about 10 min despite us being the only customers but they gave us a starting for free salad so we weren't starving. We also ordered the Thai Tea and that might have been the highlight of the meal. It looked extremely glamorous and tasted like a sweet milk tea. It also came with a flower shaped straw topper. Overall a great location, sophisticated decor and delicious food. Only odd part was the restaurants workers kept walking in and out the restaurant and front door.
(4)Scott N.
Overall, a very tasty Thai restaurant. It is awesome to see a Thai restaurant open along the Monon, especially one as nice and tasty as Pad Thai. The food is some of the best Thai I have had in Indiana. The spice levels are on a 1-5 scale and seem to be accurate. The dishes are very flavorful and the texture is dead on. Prices are a little higher than other local places, but the location and taste make up for it. The decor is very comfortable while still being pretty modern and not too cluttered. I'm definitely making a return trip.
(4)Nicole S.
Yep -- this place will do! We ordered chicken pad Thai and steamed rice to go, and it was really good. Plus, our order was hot and ready when we got there -- no waiting! I can't wait to actually dine in the restaurant and try some of their other dishes.

We had to wait 50 minutes for a table, after being told ten minutes to wait. Another couple waiting had been there half an hour longer than we were and only were seated a few minutes before us. They kept seating walk ins, I think they forgot about us. We were finally seated at a dirty table with the previous patrons cheque still on it and told someone would clean it in a minute. It was more like 20 minutes. Another patron ended up asking her waiter to serve us because she felt bad. When we finally got our food, my order was incorrect. The couple who had been waiting with us were seated next to our table and her order was also incorrect. When we were talking about it, the patron on the other side of our table informed us she was given the wrong appetizer. That being said: we all agreed the food was still delicious regardless. I had yellow curry, with no carrots, and it was exactly how I like it. My boyfriend had the Rama delight. IF YOU LIKE PEANUT SAUCE get the Rama delight. He are it in like three min. The table beside us got the mussaman curry instead of what she ordered, and with beef instead of chicken, and she said she wasn't too mad it was still good. We also loved their salad rolls. I'm giving them a little bit of a pass, because they have only been open two weeks, and they were clearly overwhelmed by their popularity. The food was good, and they were very apologetic about the poor service. We didn't have one clear waitress, everyone on staff was sort of doing everything which seemed to lead to confusion about who had been seen and who should be seated. The inside is INSANELY loud when there are people. My best advice is to go when they are clearly not busy, or order take out. We are going to go back again in a few weeks and see if they have smoothed things out, again the food is great. They also have Thai iced tea, but it comes in a huge amount of ice so there's barely any drink. Ask for light ice if you don't want to pay 3.50 for two ounces of liquid in a cup of ice. ;)

Ohhhhhhh myyyyy Thai! Newer place in the arts district in Carmel, a little off the path (the entrance is actually behind Scottys). It's a beautiful warm little Thai restaurant. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming. I think every person working there checked on us and every one of them thanked use or coming when we left. My suggestion is that you HAVE to get the dumplings. They arrived in perfectly steamed little pillows. They just exploded in my mouth. I opted for the traditional pad Thai with beef (medium heat b/c I'm a wuss). It was perfectly cooked, freshly chopped veggies and peanuts. It was one of the best pad Thais I've ever had. We will definitely be back. I might have to order 6 orders of dumplings!
(5)Mike W.
I love the location, right beside the Monon by Carmel drive. You can sit outside and people watch, which is entertain in its own way. The go to Pad Thai is ok but not stellar, it works. The beer is cold just like the service. Make sure you don't go in close to closing time, I guess one hour prior to close is close, because the service was rushed and not friendly. Frankly I can be treated that way at home. So this works in a pinch but wouldn't be my first choice in Indy.
(3)Andrew J.
I love Thai food. I was excited to see another option come to Carmel. The restaurant is small but it is bright and clean and looks out and the Monon Trail. Service was quick and polite. I got the Thai iced tea. It was sweet and rich, perfect for lunch. I always try Pad Thai when I go to a new Thai place. The noodles came with a spring roll, coconut milk soup and a very small salad. The spring roll might be one of my favorite spring rolls I've had. It was light and crisp but packed with bright fresh veggie flavors. The soup was good. It has coconut milk and green onions. It's mild but makes a great pallet cleanser. The salad was boring but they normally are at these places. It was just a bit of mediocre lettuce with a mustard dressing. The Pad Thai was the real star. I like mine hot so I went with their fourth hottest option. The noodles were perfectly done, loose and not gluey. The chicken was tender and in two bite chunks. There we just enough vegetables to give it a nice crunch. The flavors were on point and the spicy heat was perfect. This is an awesome new option.

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised with Pad Thai, what a great addition to the Carmel Arts District. I ordered the mild Pad Thai lunch special that came with a spring roll and soup. Loved the price point for a pretty speedy lunch, not a fan of the coconut soup, but my Pad Thai was absolutely delicious. Excellent spot right on the Monon and next to Scotty's. Friendly staff and outdoor seating, what could be better!?

I feel I need to update my review after my second trip and add 1 star. I was triggered to come back by a response from an employee to my review that they do in fact have drunken noodles (my fave). I stopped in today and tried the Pad Kee Mow and it was delicious. Almost everything about the dish was solid, but I still had that feeling that the vegetables were a little underdone. I have to imagine that every dish is made to order, and perhaps the vegetables aren't given enough time to cook a little more. This isn't a huge complaint with things like mushroom, pepper or tomato in my drunken noodles but with the yellow curry previously, the potato being undercooked is a problem. My co-worker ordered the Pad Ped with Beef and his beef way WAY overcooked...he was disappointed and isn't sure he'll come back as it is the sole dish he orders at Thai restaurants. I tried it, and agree...it was chewy and tough which I cannot tell if it was due to the meat being overcooked, or if it was just a terrible cut of meat. Either way, I'd pass on the beef here and stick with chicken....my chicken was great. I've had one mediocre experience, and one good experience so far and will be coming for a 3rd try to rule this place in or out of my work lunch rotation.
(3)Sarah C.
Yummy!! They have great fried rice and I love their rangoons! The green curry is amazing!
(5)Daniel R.
You can get the same food (particularly fries) in the frozen section at the grocery store. Terrible. You want thai go to sawasdee on 86th and ditch, this place is banking off its location and way overpriced for what you get.
(1)Al B.
Fantastic crab rangoon - possibly the best I have ever had. It takes a while but it quite worth it. Had my usual pad Thai - delicious. Again, it took awhile but well worth the wait. Friendly staff in a good location. Will definitely be back!
(4)Cortney A.
I was really excited to check this place out and didn't walk away disappointed! I'm a sucker for pad thai (the dish!) and this was probably the best chicken pad thai in the area that I've found! I like it a little spicier than what I got, but that's my fault for playing the middle when ordering. The dumplings were delicious, and my fiance really liked his food (I unfortunately forgot what he got). Everyone was friendly and this is conveniently located. Check it out
(5)Carly S.
Picked up a takeout order for late lunch on a Friday. They had it ready very quickly, and the takeout portions were a fantastic value compared to other Thai places. As other reviews mention, the lunch special includes salad, soup, spring roll, and entree for about eight bucks. A deal in Carmel! Salad was basic, but the spring roll was crispy and the soup was a satisfying coconut veggie medley. We ordered green curry with pork and basil rice with tofu. In both entrees, requested spice level was just right, and the vegetables were fresh. Extra veggies come with a fee, and include baby corn (not a fan but easily removed). We only gave Pad Thai a chance because our regular Thai place had a busy signal each time we called, but I'm glad we tried it and looking forward to dining in sometime soon!
(4)Ryan T.
Dumplings. I could stop this review with that one word. They were simply amazing. I ordered the pad Thai for dinner and it was very tasty. The meat was slightly over cooked but it wasn't enough to hinder the dinner in anyway. The staff was top notch and extremely friendly. It's a cozy little joint tucked behind Scotty's right off the Monon in Carmel. Oh yea and the dumplings... I may just order 5 orders of dumplings for my next meal. Total mouth explosion of delicious goodness!
(5)Kate G.
This is the only review you'll ever need for the place.... The menu is diverse and easily accommodates VEGETARIANS and GLUTEN-FREE. Just ask and they'll substitute rice noodles. For each of the lunch dishes you can choose vegetables, many kinds of meat or tofu for it. The tofu I had was the most perfectly cooked tofu I have ever had, with a nice coating and everything. The vegetables mixed into my meal, the Padka Prow, were just crunchy enough to give the meal a very fresh taste. The free salad is just a few bites but drizzled with a really good dressing. The portion sizes of everything were perfect. The free coconut soup though, is literally the most amazing soup I have ever had. Tasted like coconut milk with a subtle blend of spices and a few small pieces of no-doubt fresh carrot and peas. Delicious. Our waiters, for we had come during an not-busy time, were very friendly and polite. I can't wait to try this place for dinner, and I know this review is so glowing that it could be suspicious but I don't care this was the best food I've eaten all week.
(5)Michael C.
No complaints, I'm eager to go here again. Everyone, from 7 years on up, liked their food. Update: we've finally been back and it was very good again. The Thai fried banana was excellent and one thing to note is the veggies and basil in all the dishes I've had were nice and fresh.
(4)James T.
Food = 5+ Price = 5 Experience = 5 Pineapple in my massaman... great! Great ginger tea... even better!
(5)Amy M.
I like to give every restaurant I try 2 chances.... With that in mind I tried the pad Thai with chicken and it was rubbery and had almost a taste of soap... Like it was cooked in a pan the didn't get fully cleaned off. I tried covering it with soy sauce and didn't help!! Not too happy!!
(2)B C.
Great place, just like the real thing. Need more authentic style places like this one in town. Get out and try this place. You will love it and you will be back.
(5)Susanne H.
I was looking forward to visiting another restaurant on the Monon, but this wasn't worth it. When a menu suggests that a dish has noodles and vegetables, I anticipate more than 3 thin slices of vegetable and an entire plate of noodles. I had to pick around to find a green bean, a sliver of carrot, and one tiny broccoli floweret. It had a nice flavor, but I didn't need to pay $8 for noodles. The soup was very good.
(2)Miri C.
Authentic Thai restaurant that uses fresh ingredients!! I've been to many Thai restaurants in the area but this one stood out by far. We ordered Pad Kee Maw (a.k.a. drunken noodle), A deep fried whole Tilapia with sweet and sour sauce, and Thai ice tea. They were all absolutely delicious! We even liked their appetizer salad with peanut dressing which was included in our dinner. A deep fried whole Tilapia with sweet and sour sauce is one of my favorite Thai dish. I have had it in CA many times but have not found any Thai place in Indiana who has it on their menu. This place has it and makes it so good. All the ingredients seems to be very fresh and makes you feel good after eating them. We were there on Monday night and the restaurant was less then a half full. It was clean and the wait staffs were very attentive and informative. Loved their service. We will definitely return in the near future.
(5)Josh G.
This place is great, but it gets busy. Be patient, they're worth it. I love their Tom Kha soup. If you like coconut, give it a try. Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles with chicken) is always good. The noodles are nice and thick and their homemade basil sauce is divine. I also liked their Thai tea! Overall, great experience! I will be back!
(5)Christy R.
Really good. Really, really good. $7.99 lunch special is a great value, includes a small salad and spring roll. I'm not sure it's the best Thai I've ever had but its right up there.
(5)Esther F.
Excellent full flavored Thai food in a very modern yet relaxing setting. Lunch specials (weekdays only) are a great value since they include a small salad, spring roll, and entrée for less than $10! Service is generally good, but (unfortunately) varies depending on the server you have at any given time. Definitely worth a carryout order and/or stop for weekday lunch.
(4)Stan S.
Best Thai in Indy hands Down. Amazing crab rangoon, unlike any others. Top quality ingredients!!! Hope this place stays around!
(5)Kelly F.
My husband and I are glad to see a Thai restaurant has opened up in downtown Carmel. Since we usually ride our bikes or walk on the Monon, this place is very convenient for us. We came here on a Sunday evening as they were getting busier with the dinner crowd. We didn't have just one server; everyone was checking up on us, filling our drinks. Our waitress who took our food orders forgot to input our order in the computer so our food came out later than the people who came after us. She was very apologetic though. My husband and I each got a small chicken tom yum soup as appetizers. They were delicious! Our main entrees were chicken pad thai. We both thought the pad thai dishes were a little too sweet. The thai tea was very good. We will give this place another try, but right now it's not our go-to Thai place.
(4)Jeffrey R.
I've only eaten here once, but we'll be trying it more in the future. Of course, the litmus test of any Thai restaurant (well, for me anyway) is their Pad Thai - if its no good, then nothing will be good. The good news..it was really good. I had a Chicken Pad Thai (medium heat), spring rolls, and the dessert sticky rice with mango. This was to-go, but while the dining room is smallish, it looks very nice. I had ordered this for dinner portions, and while a little on the pricey side, it was a good sized meal. Its nice to have something different besides the multiple burger/beer places that seem to be plentiful in the area. I hope these guys do well and as I try more of the menu I have additional good things to say.
(4)Kelly W.
We were the first week they were open and had red curry and chicken satay. they are excellent. We definitely will be back.
(5)Kati S.
DELICIOUS! My whole family - 6 of us - went here for a birthday dinner and it was great. (I had wanted to go elsewhere, but we ended up here and I am so glad we did!) We had Tom Yum soup that was awesome, I had the Pad Kee Mao (DELICIOUS!!), my brother in law ordered a mango curry dish that was delicioius, my boyfriend ordered some sort of dish with a peanut sauce that was also so sooo good!! I wish I remembered our waiter's name because he was the BEST! So cheery, very helpful, overall nice guy.
(5)Prikkadilly T.
This place closer to real traditional, so you can try Pad Thai if you like, and they have Pad King( with a fresh Ginger) it's good for cold weather, so hot Ginger tea and chrysanthemums tea it's very great, let's try some
(5)Rachael H.
Great service and a great lunch! Medium hot definitely had a kick to it. :) So happy for another Thai restaurant. I think they were setting up outdoor seating but it wasn't open yet.
