I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I was looking for something quick to eat and didn't want fast food. I paid a little more for it, but it was worth it. Most menu choices are $9.99. Portions were a good size - I took a little home with me. We tried the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Tandoori. The Chicken Tandoori came with a great mint/cilantro sauce on the side, salad, and warm, yummy naan. The better choice was the Chicken Tikka Masala. The chicken in the sauce came on the side, so you could pour it over your rice. Delicious! It also came with naan. They do catering, so I am going to try it for the office some day soon.

WOW! What a gem of a restaurant. A friend of mine suggested we give Grill To Go a try for lunch and I was totally blown away with the place. Whenever I try a new restaurant, I always ask for recommended dishes from the person taking my order. If everything is good, then let me know, but if there is a stand-out dish, that's really what I'm looking for. A pet peeve of mine is when that person has no opinion or tells me they don't eat the food. That lets me know that they most likely don't care about the food, nor that I enjoy it. Why work in a restaurant if you aren't passionate about the food? That's what it's all about. I've worked in several restaurants and knew the menus inside and out and understood how dishes were prepared and what went in them. That's the job of a waiter (now called a server), not just pushing plates to people. Ok, enough personal rant on that subject...sorry. Per the recommendation of the guy taking our orders at the counter, I ordered the lamb kabob platter and my friend had the 3 curry plate. We both tried some of each others food and it was all incredible. The lamb kabob was perfectly seasoned, grilled, and served on a bed of delicious rice, which had the nicest hint of sauteed onion. It came with warm, fresh naan, a nice little dressed green salad, and some of the most delicious mint chutney (so good we got some to go) I've ever had. It was the perfect compliment to the lamb. The curry plate came with the same sides and was delicious. All of the dishes were nicely seasoned and fresh. I can't say enough about the customer service. Nice, warm, friendly people work here. I went back up to the counter to get some cookies and to see if I could buy some of the mint chutney to take home. It wasn't on the menu, but the girl at the counter made it happen. That's the kind of customer service that all restaurants should have. Take note all other restaurants...along with great food, it's the little things like that, which will keep people coming back. I'm already talking to others about going back soon and trying to figure out what to get next. I can't wait to try some of the other things on the menu. The guy who took or order said that they now have in-house made shawarma(sp?) and gyro. Those are high on my list of things to get next. Great job guys! Keep up the good work and thank you for the great food.

Good food, facility not too clean! Have the complaint workers behind the counter do some cleaning!!

It was just ok. The staff was over the top friendly, which was awesome. The shwarma was sadly quite dry with very little sauce, and the curry trio we ordered ended up being just one curry. Little overpriced in my opinion. Not bad, but I'll likely try a new place next time in feeling Indian or middle east.

Always a nice meal and fresh alternate to norm... As a lebanese descent, very few lamb and hummus options but this place is great option. Bread fresh, fast and friendly

Great casual restaurant with flavorful food. Great place for lunch. Very clean and nice service. Have tried a few different items off the menu- this time had the spicy beef burger and really loved it!

Can't say enough about this place! Dine in weekly. It's just incredible to get piping hot fresh food every time. Also they seem to make every aspect of food in house and it shows. Great staff. The naan is out of this world! Very accommodating to all types if eaters- gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian etc.

Great place with great food! It's a great change of pace from all the chains and fast food on Michigan. Generous portions too.

Disappointed. Did not like Chicken tikka Marsala as it was more tomato based than is customary. Chicken tandoori was night vibrant red as it should be. If your looking for authentic flavors go elsewhere.

I had the chicken tandoori meal and it was fabulous. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the naan was hot and soft, the rice was mild and good, the salad was good but a tad small, and the dipping sauce was unique and great. Plus, that all came in one meal for $12! I will be back.

Once I discovered what this place was I became a frequent! I have introduced atleast 5 different people now on separate occasions of which each have loved and gone back numerous times. This place reminds me of Amber Indian however has it's own spin on everything. I really enjoy flying by here as I don't gorge like I would at Amber with the buffet style setup. I have tried different items on each occasion and never been disappointed. It's very good quality, taste, and convenience. Everyone there has alway been very friendly including the owner and always accommodating. Looks like the complaints I have seen are those who only like their mothers recipes. Give this place a shot and judge for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Went for lunch with some friends. Hummus and naan was amazing, and lamb wrap was very good. Next time going for the spicy burger. The Chi cookies were a great treat. The staff was very friendly and great service.

The food is okay and the staff is nice. This is more of a takeout and pitstop type of place. I got for my family the the tandoori chicken and the korma and naan. Everything is very salty. The naan is very bad. They have a lot of work to do.

I absolutely love his place. They have a wide variety of dishes and they all have a fresh and unique taste. I really enjoy the wraps (beef kofta and lamb so far). The spices pop in the wraps and I think are the signature items of this restaurant. The curry platter is also very flavorful with a big helping of naan. If you are a little hesitant with spice then the chicken tandoori kebab is a great option. The service is always friendly which is a nice bonus and is a great place for take-out. If you haven't tried this place yet do yourself a favor and stop by!

I ate at Grill to Go with my family--which includes a 5 year old and a 2 year old (both picky eaters!)--and was incredibly happy with the experience. The staff is very friendly and was very patient as my kids took their time deciding what to order. I ordered the spicy beef burger, my husband ordered the lamb and chicken curry combo and the kids got the tandoori chicken kabobs. We all absolutely loved the food -- even the picky eaters among us! The lamb curry was especially amazing with its authentic flavor and spices (you have got to order this dish!) and the chicken tikka masala did not disappoint. The tandoori chicken kabobs were gobbled up by the little ones and I actually recall licking my fingertips after finishing the burger! Grill to Go will be part of our Indy eating out rotation and for now is the clear front runner whenever we need our kabob/Indian fix!

The person who took our order said the spice levels for curries cannot be changed and is already made so we thought it was precooked. Now I get that you make curries as in a buffet. Yes I have given a one star rating for Amber. By the way didn't you notice the 5 star rating I gave for India Sizzling and other restaurants.

The H and I stopped at Grill to Go yesterday, and had a pretty good experience. He ordered the falafel combo, and I ordered the veggie wrap combo. Since they cut the sandwiches in half, we ended up trading halves so we could each try both. The good: Both sandwiches had a lot of flavor. These people actually use spice, which seems to be a mind-blowing concept at a lot of restaurants in Indy. The fries were fresh and hot. Plus they offered different types of ketchup and hot sauce. The bad: While the falafel had great flavor, its texture didn't scream falafel. Falafel should be crispy on the outside and have just the right softness inside; this falafel was soft (almost mushy) inside and out. My sandwich was supposed to have paneer but had feta instead (luckily, it was a good match). The only comment I will not assign a category is the interior. The seating is awkward, but the restaurant also has "to go" in the name. Definitely get your food to go. We will definitely be trying this again because they have a lot of vegetarian options, and I like that they're not a chain.

First time here will return again for sure. Love the naan. The chicken tikka was really good. The rice was delicious and unique. Loved it. Can't wait to try the falafel and the sides like the samosas. Also can't wait to try the kababs. Did I mention the naan? Garlic please!

Stopped in again for lunch earlier this week and once again was blown away by the taste, value, and great staff! I opted for the Spicy Beef Burger this time with a side of falafel and a drink. I couldn't resist a side order of naan and hummus (yummus!) either. Once again, the naan and hummus was out if this world. The naan was piping hot, crispy exterior, with a nice chewy texture. A perfect pairing with the delicious, house-made hummus. The falafels were even better than last time as well. They were definitely spicier this time around, which i prefer. Not overpowering heat, but enough to know it was there. Those slight variations let you know you're getting hand-made food, not cookie cutter fare from a chain. I appreciate the variance, especially when the quality remains high. On to the Spicy Beef Burger...holy crap! If not the best burger I've ever had, for sure a close second. It was a huge, monster of a thing, with the standard lettuce, tomato, onion, and I think cheese (scarfed it way too fast to remember!). I thought about dousing with Sriracha or balsamic vinegar ketchup or some other available condiment, because that's what you do to a burger, right? Fortunately, I had the common sense to take a bite and taste it 'plain' before condimenting it. I took that first bite, and then i don't remember what happened next. It was all gnashing teeth, flying elbows, and a satisfied burp! Everything I've tasted here has been fantastic, but Chef Ty's Spicy Beef Burger is next level. That burger is absolutely worth going out of your way for. Get one NOW! Almost forgot the cookies. Again we sampled and again were impressed. We tried the double chocolate, salted carmel, and lemon chai cookies. I liked the lemon and salted carmel best and went home with 3 of each. I hear they are going to offer them online soon. Totally worth ordering online for a treat at home! Now if we can just convince Chef Ty to sell burger spice packets online so we can imitate that burger from home 2 hours away, we'll be all set! Fantastic experience, delicious food, friendly and helpful staff, diverse, well executed menu. Why are you wasting your time reading this? Get over and get G2G'ed now!

Driving through town and wanted something besides fast food. What a pleasant surprise. Best falafel I have had in years. Tandoori wrap is to die for. Under new ownership with new chef. Good luck!!! This place is a true gem.

Great little shop! Super friendly chef explained some of their specialties and made recommendations based on what we said we like. Husband (a vegetarian) ordered the veggie kabob platter, a side of zesty fries, cheddar and jalapeño naan, and some tzatziki sauce. He really liked it and said it was flavorful! I had a hard time deciding between the shwarma and chicken tikka masala. I ended up ordering the lamb and beef shwarma wrap with falafel for the side when the chef offered to give me a small sample of the masala. Everything was really tasty! Only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the meat was a little tough/chewy; however, we did come in about 30 minutes before closing. We'll be back!!

Very nice and fairly quick option along Michigan road. Basket or just individual food and "street food" choices based on kabobs, shawarmas (shaved meat), and curries. Beef, lamb and chicken are main meat choices. The meat was just a bit tough in my beef and lamb shawarma basket, but I absolutely loved my fresh and garlicky hummus and delicious naan bread. Kept steeling fries out of my kid's meal (some delicious spice on those). Once the kids got over the chicken chunks looking bright red, they gobbled up every last piece. Most visitors were there for a takeout, but the small dining area with tables still smelling of freshly stained wood is bright and clean. Check it out - a nice fast option along Michigan Road.

The food was wonderful but the service was very slow. We were told that they are under new management and were out of most of the menu items. Being our first visit here, we weren't sure if we should stay or go, but the Yelp reviews were so good so we stayed. The one salad they had was the Greek, greens, feta, onions, olives and peppers, was your basis but the large size for 7.99 was crazy small. The falafel we ordered came out well after we finished our salad but they were fresh and delicious. The Tikka Masala lunch special was very good too but for 8.99, it was a meager size with white rice. Everything was packaged in nice plastic to go containers, we were eating there, still they have no plates, only to go containers. I will go back once they get their act together, it took us 30 minutes to get our food and a few minutes after that, they ran out of rice and closed the doors!
