Great food and service, he gets most of his pork and beef from Joe's butcher shop here in Carmel as well. The tenderloin and burgers are both top notch. The owner / manager is great to talk to.

I lke this place. I like it a lot. If you're expecting a traditional Irish pub (think The Golden Ace), you'll be disappointed. If you're used to corporate knock offs (think Claddagh), I think you'll be quite pleased. Dooley's has one of the best tenderloins anywhere. On Tuesday nights, they have a breaded tenderloin with one side for $7.45....an insanely reasonable price for a HUGE tenderloin and a HUGE order of fries. I recommend the chive fries. to. die. for. Service is always outstanding, and the owner seems like he really enjoys owning the restaurant, a huge plus. The patty melt is VERY good. The Reuben is....on par with most Indy area Reubens, which is to say, average at best. Their double decker burger...the name I can't recall...is outstanding. Specials every night, always reasonably priced. Great service. We keep coming back, and that's about the highest compliment we can pay to a business.

Best compared to a Bennigan's; decor is dated and below average sports bar food. The only thing they do decently is a fried pork tenderloin the size of your head (depending on the size of your noggin). My sister said the burger just had no flavor. If you have a burger on your menu and can't do that well.... The highlight of my meal was the beer.

Love this place! Tenderloins are great and soups delish. It is not for young children, so if you want a quiet place to relax, this is the place to come. Lots of over 50 in the crowd! Wait staff is busy but always friendly. If you want to eat at a non-chain place, I highly recommend you give it a try.

Excellent from start to finish.food is fabulous!!!! The owners are so personable, offer to bring sample of different soups,as well as explaining all the dedication they put towards their business daily. It shows.Tried the chicken velvet soup it is awesome.great burger and the coleslaw is wonderful.I can't wait to come back to try other things.congrats on a great place.

Food all pretty good....

Just three stars. Have patronized this place countless times since I moved to Carmel in 1985. The only things bringing me back are the very good Reuben Sandwich and the very good Irish Stew. Decor is "70'ish gear head". The owner is a hot rod enthusiast and this is his clubhouse. So be aware, you may feel a bit put-off if one of his buddies is there sucking up most up the waiter's time.

Great place to eat with friendly service. Most menu items are good portions with a side to compliment. Owner a very friendly, personal guy. We visit there almost weekly. Best items we have had are breaded tenderloin with chive fries. Burgers, soups, and stew are also very good. Food priced well for quality you get. Place does look outdated, and needs new hd tv sets.

I've only visited this place once and ordered the chicken wings. The wings were fried, sauced (barely), and then thrown on the grill to give them an extra finish. I think the grilling is an extra service one has to request as I did for the wings (so did my buddies who were regulars). The texture of the wing was crunchy, then juicy and the flavor of the grill/charcoal sort of taste was great. However, the wings hardly had any sauce on them. They seemed pretty boring from a wing sauce standpoint. Upon asking for some extra hot sauce, I was brought out a bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce and told that was all they use for their wings. Being a wing enthusiast, I was disappointed. The wings had a ton of potential, but not having a homeade/house wing sauce or any other varieties to choose from I was saddened. This made me question the rest of their menu and what goes into their recipes. I know I can't judge a place by ordering just chicken wings, but if the effort for the other menu items is similar to the effort in the wing sauce then there's not much effort in trying to get a good flavor profile in one's food. Having a solid order of chicken wings on a menu is pretty damn standard for a bar/pub if you ask me and they sort of half-assed by not finishing the product with a quality sauce. Some might like the bland flavor though, but not me. My buddy ordered the Chicken Velvet Soup which he ranted an raved about. I didn't feel like soup, but it looked pretty good.

I stopped by here after being in Carmel and not knowing where to eat and seeing it on Yelp an I am glad I did. The service was very good and our waitress made some suggestions that were really good like the biscuits and apple butter. I got the patty melt and fries and it was very good. The burger was tasty and not over cooked. The waitress was spot on with refills. I can't comment on the alcohol selection really since I rarely ever drink. I would definitely go back here.

Very much a local pub but the owners and staff make this place truly special. This is the "Cheer's" of Carmel. Every time I walk in I expect to see dear friends from long ago. No request is too big - the Dooley's team goes out of their way to make you feel like family. It's the simple things that make this place great (tenderloins, baked beans, cheeseburgers, etc.). Life is way too short to waste meals at chain restaurants. Support local businesses and get to know the Dooley's team!

Not an Irish bar or restaurant! The only Irish food on the menu is Irish stew (soup) and fish and chips, which were awful. Service is also very slow.

I'm glad new restaurants are coming to Carmel. Especially, ones that can provide timely service. If you want your time wasted by poorly trained and incompetent wait staff and the slowest kitchen in town, then come here. When you get your food, it tastes fine, but that is only half of the formula for a good restaurant.

My boyfriend and I had never been here, so we decided to stop in a couple a weekends ago. The place wasn't very busy for a Saturday night so we got seated right away. Our server was awesome! She was very personable and was on top of it whit drink and food service. I think this place is supposed to be modeled after an Irish pub, lots of green leather, gold fixtures and dark wood. Their menu is a diverse selection of Irish/American and American entrees. I had the fish and chips, while my boyfriend had their country fried tenderloin that was on special. With our dinners, were also had a choice between fried biscuits and rolls. We of course went with the fried goodness! They were pretty good, but I couldn't eat more than one. Very heavy and sweet once you put some apple butter on them. Anyways, my boyfriend enjoyed his meal and mine was OK. Definitely have had better fish and chips. There just wasn't a lot of flavor to the fish or the breading. Dinner was decently priced, around $25 for our dinner. Not sure that we would go back seeing as we can get the same (but better tasting) food at Muldoons or Claddagh

The place has good food and service. To be brief and to the point. The chicken velvet soup is epic along with the breaded tenderloin sandwich. Go and give it a try.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Food was ok, but the atmosphere was terrible. From the minute I walked in I should have known my kids were not welcomed there. We had other customers move tables and cover their ears when my kids so much as made a peep. Felt like my kids should be seen but not heard by others. The food was mediocre. I could have gone some place else spent the same amount of money had better food and a more welcoming experience. We will not be back.

I have eaten here 6 or 7 times since I moved to the Carmel area 2 years ago. Dooley's is very consistently great! Friendly staff. The owners are frequently in the restaurant working and helping the staff. The food is really good! I love the fried biscuits and the chive fries. I have recently gotten the fish and chips twice because they are so good! The tenderloin is good. Great burgers. Good steaks! The atmosphere feels more expensive than the restaurant is. Dark woods and deep greens and brass railings. Does have a bit of a clean Irish bar feel. The noise level isn't too bad, but loud enough that you don't feel like everyone around you can hear your conversation. Again, great food, great service, nice staff, good atmosphere, good prices. Well worth visiting frequently.

Great place, Great Food, Great atmosphere, Great staff. I really don't have anything bad to say about Dooley's. Their prices are more than fair relative to other comparable restaurants, and they have great daily lunch specials. It's also the only place near where I work that I can watch the World Cup games during my lunch, but it's not a "sports bar" either. (there are only a few tv's, and the audio is muted on all of them in favor of well selected music)

You can't help but love Dooley's if you have lived in Carmel your whole life. It is a staple! You can always count on safe Dooley's if you are ever indifferent about where to eat. Looking at the menu is a bit strange because you change your idea of what you are in the mood for based on how eclectic the menu is. Take parents or grandparents there and they are sure to swoon! Not a date place though, while it does look like a green furry monster exploded inside.

Good food. The place seems kind of dirty though.
