So this was the first time that I'd been to Patachou and I have to say I'm a fan. One of my friends suggested this place for lunch, and I'm glad she did. The overall ambiance of the café was fun and not uptight at all. I had the Piggy, Piggy, Piggy Omelet and it was amazing. One of my friends got the chicken salad and a side of Turkey chili. She let me try some and it was soo good.

The cinnamon sourdough toast is a must. Cuban breakfast is great IF you don't want the omelette of the day.

Excellent food. The reason it's not five stars is because you pay for it. Omelettes can be $12. My favorite is "piggy piggy piggy". They slaughter a bunch of pigs and put the resulting meat into your omelette. It's delicious.

It's great to have one of their locations in the neighborhood! Quick an simple to get to! Yes it's small, can be loud. But shows its good an popular! The food is always good and the staff is always friendly!

Patachou is fantastic for sitting down to brunch with a friend, taking a moment to chill in a vibrant, relaxed environment, or spending time with family. It's one of my favorite places to meet friends at whenever I'm in Indy. The coffee's great and there a multiple selections. The menu's really excellent too, even if slightly overpriced. This particular Patachou has no WiFi and weirdly poor cell coverage for a business in Carmel, which can be annoying but can also be a nice distraction suppressant if you're with someone.

The best REAL fresh flaky croissant in town (I found) plus great coffee. Can really stop right here... Patachou locations around town are dedicated to sourcing local produce, eggs and meats. A large variety of omelettes and a request for egg whites is almost an expectation. Lots of foodie additions - from avocado to bacon. Mazo ball soup (Friday only, why?) and turkey chili both savory. Lots of salad options, including variations on the famous chicken salad. Smoothies with real fruit, home-made granola, freshest selections for fruit salad or fresh berries as a side. The only downside - very popular. A wait can be significant at all locations.

Small, busy, LOUD, but with super great food. Patachou has transformed my expectations of a delicious breakfast. With multiple locations, this one is small with tables that are within ear shot of your fellow diners. Often a short wait can be anticipated, but well worth it. The Hippie omelette is loaded with mushrooms, spinach, and feta. But, the bread gets me. The thick, sliced, buttery pieces are a true compliment to the meal. Service isn't overly friendly. It's very much a "Can I take your order 'cause I've got other tables I need to flip" kinda staff. It's fine for me though. I'm not sure what I think of the self-serve coffee service. I would rather have a pot of coffee so I don't have to get up every time. Plus, it's a cluster waiting in line, dealing with peeps that are trying to come in and out. Despite the noise and smallness of the place, I'm still a lover. My solution? Just sit at the bar, savor a personally made latte while avoiding the chaos, and enjoy one of the best breakfasts in the area.

I hate to be the person that only reports the bad experiences but this needed to be documented with hopes that management will address the issue. After waiting 30 minutes to get a table we placed our simple order of omelettes and scrambled eggs. The table behind us were sat and ordered a few minutes afterwards. 45 minutes later we sat watching the table behind us eating. As they finished my wife found the waitress to explain our 5 week old baby could not wait any longer before it was his turn to eat. Now she rushed the food out to us. It was over an hour of sitting with no food and is completely unacceptable. We took 2 bites and it was time to go. The waitress sensed our displeasure and offered a measly 20% off. If I had time to argue I would have refused my food and refused the bill but my infant took priority. Normally our experiences here are great but this one time ruined it.

If you want a wonderful lunch with freshest food using the finest ingredients, you go to Patachou! I LOVE the turkey sandwich! They say they roast it fresh daily, and I couldn't disagree as it's even better than the longed for, left-over Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches we have at home each year! served with fresh fruits, YUM! and each soup I have had has been fantastic! Tomato Artichoke Soup is very good! On this visit, the service wasn't as fantastic as in the past... so hopefully it was just a slightly off day... it won't keep us from trying again!

A bit on the pricey side, but the breakfast selection is fantastic! I have always been a fan of breakfast foods - and they not only offer that - but a variety of coffees, mimosas and Bloody Mary's. Cute little restaurant that's ideal for meeting up with a friend to chat and gossip. That's what I did while I was there, anyway. :-) Breakfast foods and coffee with one of your girlfriends is a perfect recipe for gossip. I don't think I could have said the same five years ago, but this type of setting is wonderful now. I tried their "omelette of the day," which was filled with cheese, peppers and ham. Very tasty. My friend tried one of their famous egg sandwiches. Though she struggled with keeping the insides of the sandwich actually inside the bread, she was very pleased. This was both of our first visits to Cafe Patachou and we were happy with the selection. Like I stated at the beginning, this wasn't a cheap-cheap stop, but sometimes you get what you pay for - ya dig?

There were so many things wrong with or experience here. First of all, we came for the Crepes we had here less than a month ago. Come to find out that they changed the menu. Second, they have "self-serve" coffee - it was a nightmare. If you are sitting down at a table, you have to get up from what you are doing to get your coffee - at 3 dollars a cup! Meanwhile, there are tons of kids at this location and people are filling up their hot coffees with small children running beneath them. Hope there is no lawsuit. Also we were sat right behind the coffee line so kept getting bumped by people carrying coffee! It was awful. Our water was not refilled, there is no room to stand anywhere, our food took forever. The worst experience I've had at a restaurant in ages, maybe ever.

I wouldn't label Cafe Patachou's(tm) cuisine french-american; rather it is more accurately described as american-french, with it's oversized Alice-in-wonderland bar chairs, menus and portions. Not that I'm saying Martha Hoover is trying for an exact replica of a french bistro/cafe but the her cookie cutter american business ideals are definitely apparent here. The menu and to-go cups tout Cafe Patachou(tm) as a student union but where are the students? This chain could really use a rebranding. The all black interior is not cute and doesn't feel like it belongs in Indiana. Cafe Patachou(tm) was opened the year I was born so I understand why it's an antique but it feels neglected. You can tell the kitchen is pretty much running itself.. And not well. I ordered the Julia omelette, the test of any good cafe, and a bowl of granola. The omelette was good but looked more like an egg burrito with no tortilla. I think the omelette was named after Julia Childs because it was delicious, simple but very meaty... Literally stuffed to capacity with jowl bacon. Not sexy. The bacon was chopped in small strips and fat barely rendered.. So i was chewing on undercooked pig face. The iced tea was nice, i mixed it with the blueberry coffee which was excellent.

I usually love Cafe Patachou... I'm not sure if it's this location, but I had quite possibly the worst Caesar salad and soup here. The soup I have had at the location near the Fashion Mall, but this time it was incredibly sub par. If you want Cafe Patachou, better try a different location.

I have been wanting to try this little nugget since moving to Carmel over two years ago. It is less than a five minute drive from my home and I see it every day to and from driving my kiddos to daycare/preschool. Well, today, in the midst of craving a salad, I decided to call in an order. I got there less than 10 minutes after placing my order and the Cobb salad was ready to go! Service at the counter was beyond friendly and with a smile. She was very pleasant and made some small talk. I nearly added on the chocolate layer cake b/c the window display made my mouth water BUT I refrained due to my diet. :) Score one for me. As for my salad, the avocado in the description sold it for me. I love anything with avocado BUT I must have overlooked where it has blue cheese. I normally would ask for it to be taken off but I didn't and the balance of flavors is perfect! I usually hate the strong nature that BC gives off in salads but there is just a hint in there which makes it quite tasty! I love the bacon. The chicken is pretty bland....there is no added flavor but it is good to add protein so I'm glad it's there. The lettuce, tomatoes and base of the salad was fresh and the house-made vinaigrette was light but full of flavor. I really enjoyed the salad. I can't really give a salad much more than 3 stars though. This restaurant is also SOOOO crowded mid-day it is nearly impossible to get a seat. I am a Carmel mom - add me to those who enjoy it and will be back. It is very child/mom friendly. I imagine b/c it's easy, quick and has waiter service. All positives, but if you are not a family lover, you may want to choose another lunch place.

My favorite breakfast spot in Carmel! Absolutely love their fresh made food. Friendly service tops it off everytime.

The egg sandwich with smoked salmon and bacon was good though a lil salty in my opinion. The bacon was too thick for my taste. They use IN bacon and I guess I've always liked my Canadian bacon. Overall, service was quick and easy even though the place was packed. I will definitely try the other dishes that they have.

Never felt more ripped off by a restaurant. We ordered the Cuban breakfast and the California dreamer omelette. Everything was bland bland bland. Omelette was overcooked with just one tiny slice of avocado in it. The Cuban was mostly overcooked rice and beans with an overcooked egg on top, with no flavoring except for a little salsa that tasted like oily blandness. Probably fifty cents worth of ingredients and they charge 10 bucks for it. The things that were actually decent: the coffee, whole wheat bread, and bacon; basically anything that doesn't require great cooking skills or seasoning. The service was speedy but our waitress was kind of rude. We wouldn't have minded though if the food had been halfway decent, or they hadn't charged us forty bucks for that crap.

Not cheap for sandwiches, but I never had something where I didn't clean the plate. Carmel housewives love this place. Others have noted the noisy kids and it's definitely true. Try the tomato-artichoke soup and the coconut cake.

We stopped in here for a late breakfast this past weekend. My husband and I were visiting some friends that live in Carmel, so we were just going with the flo -- didn't really know what to expect from this place. We were pleasanlty surprised! The GOOD: 1. The nice lady behind the breakfast bar (where we sat) 2. The extensive menu -- I would have been happy ordering anything off the menu. There was a nice variety and everything I saw coming from the kitchen looked awesome! 3. The cappuccino -- It was fun to watch them make it and it was HUGE! I definitely got my money's worth. 4. Croissant french toast -- AMAZINGLY buttery and fattening and delicious. 5. Quick service -- The place was packed, and our food still came out right away. 6. Carrot cake -- I didn't eat this, but some other person ordered it and I basically drooled just looking at them cut a slice of it. The BAD: 1. Crowded -- Because of a nice lady who was getting ready to leave, thus offering us her seat, the four of us were able to sit together. Otherwise, it was super crowded. I can't really think of much bad. This place is a winner in my book and I'm sure I'll be back next time I visit my friends!

This location is very crowded at lunch time and seeing as it is a super small place I would be prepared to either wait or get there before or after the early lunch crowd. My mom and I stopped in for lunch around 1:15 and had to sit at the bar area but around 1:45 they had cleared out quite a bit. I had the salad and half sandwich combo. I have always loved their vinaigrette dressing and the salad was plentiful. I like a salad with big chunks of tomato and this did not disappoint. The veggie sandwich? Ehhh, I've had better. The wheat bread seemed a little dry and the sandwich was pretty bland as far as taste. So next time I will remember not to order that sandwich. Moms loved the turkey chili but also felt like her chicken salad sandwich could have used more pizzazz in the taste department. Service was friendly and very prompt. While I enjoyed this location and its proximity to me, I will probably drive the extra couple miles to the larger Keystone location next time.

We dine here when I visit my sister and her family who live in Carmel and we're always satisfied. Terrific selection of sandwiches, salads, baked goods and breakfast options. Always busy but consistently good and clean. They're now also in the Indy Airport - healthier and tastier option as compared to the other restaurants there.

We dine at Patachou a fair amount. They excel at many dishes, but are lacking in others. Their hamburgers, fries and omelets are wonderful. Some of the best French onion soup I've ever had. Chicken-stuffed crepe is a must, and they know how to make a thick hot chocolate. Their sandwiches are just OK, though, and the desserts are not up to standard at all. Coffees are pretty good - they have different selections daily. Overall, definitely go and enjoy a fine meal, but choose carefully.

I haven't yet been to a Patachou I didn't like, including this one in Carmel. Honestly, I didn't even know it was here until I drove past it last week - and to think we've been driving all the way to the Penn St. or River Crossing location! As usual, breakast/lunch didn't disappoint on our visit. I stepped out of my usual comfort zone of always ordering the "omelette du jour" and had the "Bon Vivant" omelette off the regular menu. Big stretch, huh? The "Bon Vivant" is stuffed with diced ham, swiss cheese and diced carmelized onions - good enough - but what really sets the dish off is the grainy mustard that is folded into the eggs. Simply delicious! I had expected the mustard to be smeared on the inside of the omelette or maybe even atop or alongside it. Mixing it up WITH the eggs made for the most delectable hint of mustard with every bite of omelette. As is always the case with Patachou, the fruit cup was super fresh and the sourdough bread right on target with its chewy, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Hint: order your sourdough toast "half & half." That will get you two slices of buttered only and two slices of cinnamon & sugar....yum! Hubby had the always sinful but "oh so good" croissant french toast topped with toasted pecans....I tested it just to make sure it was up to par :-) One great thing about this location that will create loyal customers out of us: the outdoor dining area is dog friendly!
