I had a shrimp entree once that was actually delicious...but my favorites are going to be simply the classic greek salad--they put a giant block of feta on top (can't get much better than that!) mm! ... as well as the marinated grilled portebella as an appetizer, yum

I'm used to cheap greek food since there are hundreds of this type of restaurant from where I come from. It was good, I admit it, but I was afraid to order anything just based on the price. The gyros were really good and had a lot of meat, so I'll give them that, the rest of my meal was decent as well, but nothing worth the price really.

Decent, consistent, overpriced. The signature gyros is now $7.

This is a local's spot - and one of my favorites! I would start with the flaming Saganaki, which now they make spicy (also very good). I also enjoy the fish tacos and the Pasko's skewer dishes. Of course they are known for their awesome gyros!!! And don't overlook the burger - I've had this before to share as an appetizer.

Cue Barbra Streisand, because I've got memories. Fuzzy, vodka-soaked, memmmmorieeeesss of the Trojan Horse. Circa 2007, Trojan Horse had half-off key lime martinis one night a week and my friends and I would pull the old "A round of key lime martis for my friends - And keep 'em coming! (Please!)". We'd talk and laugh and eat Super Gs with buckets of tzatziki, and even then I was aware that we were making some top drawer memories. Granted, it's been a long time since I've been there and perhaps my current palate wouldn't be as impressed, but I loved it back then and that place has 5-star nostalgia in my book. I don't want this outdated review to be completely worthless though, so here is the copycat key lime martini recipe I came up with after we graduated: 3 oz Stoli Vanilla Vodka 2 oz Licor 43 2 oz Cream 1 oz Key Lime Juice Shake over ice and strain into lime juice & graham cracker-rimmed martini glass. Go nuts.

Trojan Horse is like the PF Chang's of Greek food. Really subpar gyros. I haven't had many in Bloomington, so maybe its decent for here, but on an objective level they're low-quality and limited in both options and scope. I'd rather have 3 euro gyros across from a train station than try them again here. On the other hand, the baklava ice cream was actually pretty good. The baba ganoush was mediocre, but not downright bad. All in all, its a pretty unsatisfying experience given Trojan Horse's prime location downtown. Gyro meat: 0/5 Gyro veggies: 0/5 Baklava: 2/5 Baba Ganoush: 0/5 Service:2/5 Diversity: 3/5 Price: $$/$$$$ Satisfaction:Price- 2/5

Straight up I'm giving this 3 stars because the portions are kind of small. It's actually a good thing for my health and well being, but when I go to a greek spot like this I kind of just expect everything to be in mongoloid portions and for my stomach to want to explode. Food was good, fries are awesome (real fries!) and gyros and sampler platter are very solid. But for the price I expected to wheel take home boxes out and actually left a little hungry. What can you do? They did my waist a favor and I'm docking them stars for it. I'm an idiot, do your own thing internet.

Been a number if years since I visited the horse and I was not disappointed. The humus was plenty garlicy but I could have used a touch more tahini. The Super G (gyro with more meat & veggies) was wonderful - the lamb was tender, the tomatoes ripe and the onions weren't too strong - tzatziki was well balanced...I will have to make a point to stop by for a Super G prior to an IU game.

Was in town for work and was told to try it out. All I can say is wow. It can be easily overlooked but well worth it. I got breaded pickles that were good and lightly battered and crisp. I got the super G gyro that was delicious. You could really taste the freshness of the onions and tomatoes and the meat was awesome. I got baklava for dessert and it was good and rich in flavor. Service was great and very friendly. I know people have commented on the atmosphere as needing to be updated but I fell it was fine and you get a feel of the history this place has. My waitress mentioned that the burgers there are awesome even though they are a Greek restaurant. I will definitely try it next time I am town.

I love Greek food. We don't have a Greek restaurant very near us, so I try to go to one when I get the chance. This place was very disappointing. We started with baba ganoush, which I love. Sadly, it had no flavor and was very lumpy. We each tried it once, then left the rest. ( That's the only time we've left some!) I had a lamb kebob, another favorite. The meat had no flavor at all. The other people at my table had the same complaints, except one. She ordered the gyro salad and said it was good. Lastly, the decor was what you'd expect from a college town bar. Very dark, names carved in the wall-yet the food was priced as if you were at a fairly nice restaurant. Also, the seating was all booths, so since we had 6 people, it was very cramped.

My parents came to Trojan Horse when they were in Bloomington years ago, and now it's my turn. If I were a breeder I'd have college age kids that would probably be eating here too. Nothing has changed since my husband and I began coming here regularly 14 years ago, and not much changed before that, either. This is like a time capsule, and you need to eat here for the ambiance and the delicious food. The must-get here is the SUPER G GYRO SANDWICH, which doubles up on the best parts of the gyro...the meat and the tzaziki. I've tried gyro meat in lots of different restaurants across the county...none of them even come close to the excellent flavor found at the Trojan Horse. The FRIED GREEN PEPPERS are also excellent, battered well and fried until they are just tender. Bottom line: you owe it to yourself to eat at this place at least once. Once you do, you'll probably become a regular.

The Trojan Horse is a staple if you visit Bloomington. Every year that I return home to Indiana I always manage to make this trip from Columbus to Bloomington and his is where I eat lunch. The menu really has not changed over the last 20 years and they still have my staple dishes - Beer Batter Mushrooms and the Super G Giro sandwich. If you want beer they have a good selection from the bar and as alway if you need some plastic cups for that nigh if drinking you can get soda in a Trojan Horse cup. For dessert they have what I've been told is really great Baklava as well as Baklava ice cream. I say this as I'm not a fan of nuts but my wife always gets this dessert when we come here. The rating is purely based on the food that I eat when I come here as I've always had a great experience when it comes to food...the service is however lacking and can take a very long time to get just a drink refill. I know that over the years they have turned over staff multiple times and out visit this time was hampers by poor service. Because I've been coming here for so many years I'll not cut my stars because she will be gone when I return again.
Great food and amazing atmosphere! I would recommend it to anyone wanting to grab a chill dinner somewhere. I have always had a pleasant experience and a great outcome of their food! Their delivery through Btown Menus is very quick, too!

I have been here several times before and have concluded that the only time worth coming here is for dessert. Not just any dessert though: Baklava a la mode (a large piece of baklava with baklava ice cream). It's $5.25 and a delightful 4 star dessert. You can also get a baklava milkshake with or without alcohol which is also very good! The savory food on the other hand...not so much. I got the Popeye & Olive Oil (a grown up grilled cheese sandwich) which I would give 3 stars...it just didn't impress me. But that was still better than the Super Fries (pretty much a basket of fries) which I would give only 2 stars. They were not salty enough and not crispy in a good way...really quite a disappointment. The decor is not bad, but not great either. It's kind of dark, so definitely the kind of atmosphere where you would want to come with someone else and not alone. I will only be back for the baklava ice cream for dessert!
(3)
Anne J.
The gyros here aren't bad. They're just lacking somehow- the meat is a bit under seasoned and tough and sauce is fine. Nothing "wow". The wait staff is very friendly and the service is fast. I really did enjoy the baklava ice cream quite a bit. While I probably won't be back for dinner again, I'll be back for drinks and dessert.

The food here is very expensive for what you get. A Gyro is the same sized ones you can make yourself with the pita from a grocery store with nothing special in regards to quality or quantity of meat, no fries or sides come with it and it runs about $8. I have had the combo platter which is $20 and it comes with a single salad, spinach pie, 5 shavings of lamb, 3 pieces of pork, heap of tasteless rice, heap of lemon couscous, an eggplant pie slice, 4 triangles of pita, and a ramequin of tzatziki sauce. I would definitely recommend any place else unless you are dying for greek food and refuse to walk down kirkwood to either falafel or the Gyro food truck

I ate the fancy grilled cheese. It was great tasting-wise, but a little greasier than I'm used to in a grilled cheese. I didn't love how dark it was in there. It was kind of cave-like and cottage-y.
(3)
Jason R.
Let me start off by saying that I wasn't expecting anything fancy. Just a good junk food meal. I had spanakopita and a gyro. The spanakopita was absolutely inedible. It was floppy, mushy and chewy. The filo had the texture of a hot moist sponge. It appeared to be filled with unevenly heated baby food. It was obviously microwaved. Do not order under any circumstances. Seriously one of the most offensive things I've ever had served to me in a restaurant. The gyro was fine. It was edible. It wasn't wonderful. I've had better from street vendors. The restaurant is rundown and dirty looking. The one bright spot was the service. My waiter was attentive and nice. He even took the spanakopita off my bill without me asking because I only took one bite. No excuse for serving something that bad though.

Casana B.
Best falafel I've found in some time. It's actually moist! Spanakopita is good, though not much for the price. Onion rings are legit. Staff is really friendly. All around good experience.

Trojan Horse if a Bloomington staple. it's a great spot for a quick lunch and some great food. If you want to get down to the real reason that I love Trojan Horse I have one word for you: Cheeseparer! I dream of this amazing feta, spinach, and garlic spreadable concoction of goodness! ! If you don't get this when you go here, I'll probably cry. On another completely unrelated note, they give you amazing plastic keepable cups with your drinks - get yours to go! I sure have and I have about a gazillion cups to prove my love for the Trojan Horse is real.

Worlds greatest Gyro!! Do I need to post anything else? Okay, I will! You have to love this place staring with the chain door handle on the front. They have a really cool fish tank as you enter. You can see the lamb cooking from the store front window. The food and all of it is great! Great salads! Love, love the hummus! Great burgers, great fries and good beer selection! One of my favorite restaurants in the Midwest!

I was glad I finally gave this place a try after passing it by so often. The food is an aquired taste or for those who love Greek food. I also enjoyed the atmosphere that went along with our meal. Not tacky in anyway like most restraunts. A bit pricey sure but I say it was worth it.

I went to the Trojan Horse around 6-6:30pm on a summer Saturday night. My party of three was seated immediately. The waitress was prompt and refilled our beverages and checked in to see how we were doing at an appropriate rate. I would have given more stars if I thought the prices were more reasonable. There was a vegetarian meal that looked good but the price was at least $18.00!!! No thank you!! Instead I got the sampler appetizer that tasted very good, as always. I also got the Greek salad. While the salad tasted very good, it was the size of a side salad (or slightly bigger) at other restaurants. What really bugged me about the salad was that it came with just one (1) cube of Feta cheese!! That's right, just one piece of Feta cheese!! For $5.00, I would at least like to have two cubes!! Or, I suggest crumbling up the one cube of Feta cheese to give the illusion that there is actually more cheese than there actually is. My friends got an order of the fried mushrooms. I tried one and thought it tasted good. They each also got a cheeseburger which I did not hear any complaints about. Overall, I really like the Trojan Horse and would definitely return. The waitress we had was excellent!! My only concern is that it is a bit pricey for the amount of food you receive.

ANAZING! I dined alone but my waitress was just as attentive and friendly as if there were ten people with me. I ordered a Gyro that was hands down the best gyro I've had in my life! Everything was fresh and extremely flavorful. I'd recommend this to anyone! I can't wait to go back!

I grew up in the area, and although I live on the west coast I always try to eat at Trojan Horse when I visit. The gyros are SO good, and so filling. (I wish I had one right now!) The waitstaff is friendly. The decor might just be original from their grand opening, but at least it isn't over-the-top greek tacky. I love love love Trojan Horse, and recommend it to anyone I know who will be in Blommington!
(5)
Jess M.
Quick, but that's about it. Lamb on gyro has decent flavor, but for 7.50 pita is way too small, and onions on all dishes is always way too watery. Reminded why btown gyros is the best gyro spot in town. For the same price I could have had twice the gyro, a candy bar, chips and pop... With change. Not again. Pass

I have lived in Bloomington my entire life and the Tro Ho is absolutely one of my favorites. Food is excellent! The owners are great, great people. I could live on the tzatziki sauce.

I ordered the Super-Chicken Gyro. I must say it is the best Gyro I have had in BTown after the Gyro Food Truck located outside Dunkirk on the weekends. The zaziki sauce was fresh and tasty. A little pricy though for the size of the Gyro. But I will order again for sure!

I hate to be harsh on a family business, but the point of YELP is to help people improve, right? Oy vey. So....Here it goes: First, let me start off by saying that although our server, Ashley lost her voice that did not stop her from being friendly or staying on top of our order. Ashley did a fabuloso job! Ok, now for the juicy low-down you're dying to hear: The major issue I had was that I ordered a double Greek salad because I was STARVING. The lettuce not only arrived limp, but there wasn't much to this 'double salad' at all. I cannot imagine what their 'regular' one looked like! To be honest, I thought the portions were a terrible value for the price. But...honesty is my policy! So, hopefully, if I ever come back my truthfulness will have paid off and maybe I won't leave lighter in the stomach and the wallet. Hint, hint...I will be BACK!

30 years ago, my husband and I had our first date at the Trojan Horse. We have been back at least twice a month ever since. It amazes me that each time we are seated, our drinks arrive without our even having to order them Love the sun tea, brewed daily! We usually arrive mid afternoon, and start with Cheeseparer or Greek Sampler or Saganaki (after 5pm) Love the Taboullah !!! Then it is either Mixed Veggies or Onion Rings and Dolmasalada. Next course usually consists of Super G for the hubby, and Fish Tacos for me. Occasionally, when the kids (22, 25) tag along we get two of the Sampler Combo Platters and just graze. For all the great reviews about the hamburgers, after 30 years I have never ordered one, but life would be fantastic if Denny would bring back the "Calhoun" sandwich!

I can't express the level of disappointment with this place. I grew up in Bloomington, and couldn't understand why I had never been here before. I really felt the same after my mojito, jalapeno fries and meatball appetizers. But then came the entrees and it began to make sense. The food is terrible. Small quantities, small flavor and big prices. I will never be back and font feel like I got a fair value at all for what was eaten. I'm not sure how they managed to make lamb, or gyros unappetizing, but they werre successful. Big disappointment. Huge.

We grabbed dinner here before heading to an IU men's basketball game and the nearly 30 minute wait to get in at the Trojan Horse was so not worth it. While I can't blame them for the wait, I have to say that I was less than impressed the entire time we were there. The service was lacking from start to finish and everything took forever to arrive at the table. Sure they were clearly busy, but it's not like this was their "first time at the rodeo". When the food finally arrived items were missing, orders were incorrect, and the fries were limp and soggy. The gyro that I ordered *without* sauce was virtually inedible because it had been drowned in sauce. How the waitress did not notice this before delivering it to our table is beyond me, but when she saw the slightly unhappy look on my face her response was "Well I can get you another one if you'd like but it'll probably be another 20 minutes." Wonderful. I think the Trojan Horse would maybe be a good place to grab a few drinks on a random night and perhaps if you go in with the expectation of "bar food" you'd be ok. Personally, if I'm ever in Bloomington again I'll find somewhere else to eat!

Great food! This was a friend get together at one of their favorite places. The food and service here have always been good. We ordered several different items from the menu and all were delivered as requested and satisfying. If you are in Bloomington this is a good option. Plus you can see the gyro meat right in the front window to the kitchen and it makes you hungry! The atmosphere is relaxing here too.

They make a decent jiyro. I get the super G. It could be more cooked like if they seared it a little on the rotisserie as they slice it. I like gyros and they say I jyro. The deep fried mushrooms are excellent. It's a good jiyro and I've have a few in town here. The ones at McCabes are crispier but these are my preference. Gyro King's are fair if you like them moist. The shrooms are the tiebreaker for my overall vote.

Trojan Horse has really good food. They have a very nice selection and the prices are very reasonable. It's a great place for a quick meal or to enjoy some Greek food while watching the game (upstairs).

I love Greek food but this was not a good experience. Appetizer was smaller than the picture and the melt was tiny. The fries were greasy and cold. One good thing was the size of the gyros dinner. Marginal at best and will not be returning.

We drive two hours twice a year and always eat here. For an appetizer the Stuffed Grape Leaves are a must and very lite. Don't skip these, also the hummus is always good. However the Baba Ganoush could be better. Don't pass up the Gyros, something that I always look forward to. And TRY the local Upland beer on draft, this is my favorite.

Had falafas that were terrible. Father had gyros that he also thought was disgusting. Only redeeming thing they had was their fries. Still a horrible food experience though.

The saganaki is fantastic and I usually get one of the Greek sandwiches which are loaded with the stuffing and dripping with zaziki. To finish up with the ambrosia or baklava. The desserts may seem small when they bring them out but they're so rich you don't need much.
(5)
William K.
There pork tenderloin with jalapeño mayonnaise is the best. The super gyros is amazing!
(5)
Joseph H.
Not the best place in Bloomington but certainly not the worst. I came here to try the gyros and was pretty disappointed - they were very dry and didn't really have any flavor. This seems to be one of those places in Bloomington that is getting by on the inertia of what it used to be, rather than what it is. If you're looking for a better gyro, I would recommend King Gyros.
(2)
Jean P.
After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided that I needed to branch out and try dessert. Everyone that has already said it is right - the baklava ice cream does NOT disappoint. It's so delicious. The waitress suggested that, next time, we should get the baklava with baklava ice cream on top - whatever they call that combination. You best believe that, next time we're in town, I will. Our Super G, fries, cheesepa'rer (drool....), and sangria were excellent, per usual. So glad to have gotten my fix over the Thanksgiving holiday.

While overseas on deployment one of our favorite things to do was get enuberated and on our way back to the ship pick up some of those delicious gyros that were served on carts near there piers. So, when I stumbled across the Trojan Horse which advertised "Greek Food and Tavern" I figured I was in a win/win situation. Their menu had more American food than Greek, which I ended up not complaining about because the fried mushrooms were pretty darn good. Gyros were close to what I remembered, without the haze of alcohol fogging it. Service was quick and pretty good. Prices were a little high, but after doing some research I found that the Trojan had won some awards and been mentioned in a couple of magazines. Guess notoriety comes with a price. Overall, pretty great place. I would come back again if I was ever visiting Indiana and had a hankering for some gyros.
(3)
Samantha E.
The Trojan Horse is so wonderful! The food is amazing, the service is great and the prices are reasonable. Try the Greek salad and the Gyros. Although, the menu item not to be missed is...the Cheeseburger! Can you believe it, at a Greek restaurant? One of the best burgers in Bloomington, think fresh, thin and pressed to a crisp on the flat top. Order a Double Cheeseburger with American cheese plus lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion with a side of fries. Don't forget a side of Jalapeno mayo for a little fry/burger dipping, you won't be sorry. Once the burger basket comes out, ditch the basket and lay the wax paper on the table. Don't forget to order a Bloomington Brewing Company Ruby Bloom Amber and try the housemade baklava with baklava ice cream for dessert. One of the best eats in Bloomington! If you are a frequent guest, sign up for the Hero's Club and receive 10% off all food purchases on Mondays and desserts everyday. Then comes a $10 giftcard for your birthday and if you dine in 10 out of 12 months you will receive a $25 gift certificate. Whoop!

Long term favorite place for lunch or casual supper for all my family. We do Giros, best in town, and I love the Saganaki. Never have been disappointed except occasionally by a delay getting in.

I had dinner there on a week night. The waiter was a bit awkward, the place was dead, the food was delicious but expensive, and the beer selection left much to be desired. Mostly I was not a fan of the decor. It's a pretty cheesy greek-themed family place with signs like "We have served *insert #" heroes!" It may feel a lot better downstairs and during the weekend, but when I went there all I wanted to do was eat and leave. I was a bit depressed by how hard they were trying, decor-wise, but the food is really good--though I would have liked it more if I hadn't been distracted by the strategically-placed, unavoidable TVs.

The Trojan Horse is a safe, go-to choice in Bloomington, if you want to take a break from the wonderful curries, pides and other treats along 4th Street. The gyros are serviceable, but improved with bit of the jalapeno mayo you can order on the side. The trio Greek sampler of hummus, cheesepa'rer (a salty, but tasty spinach & feta dip)and tabouleh is our preferred appetizer; it should just come all mixed together into one mound of Greek-flavored paste...which is what we end up doing to it anyway. The pita probably is far from authentic, but I enjoy it and we always ask for extra. I don't care for the Americanized-food on the menu, although the recent addition of the Popeye n' Olive Oil sandwich is very welcome. The sandwich contains brie, cheese, garlic, spinach and apricot preserves on this wonderful, thick bread, grilled in olive oil. For vegetarians, it is a very delicious alternative to the hummus, ubiquitous portabella wrap or bone-dry falafel. I also don't care for the painfully obvious faux, 5-star reviews w. links that recently have appeared on Yelp the last month. I hope this practice discontinues soon. Trojan Horse totters between 3 and 4 stars, and should be satisfied with its consistent performance, especially if it compares itself with far worse downtown eateries (*cough* Grazie). I think a 3.5 would be appropriate from me, but I'll round down to a 3 because of Trojan Horse's annoying Yelp tactics.

We stopped in at the Trojan Horse after a long day of boating on Lake Monroe. We were seated immediately and which was great because we were all famished. We started off with the Greek sampler and saganaki, both of which were delicious. Even when we ran out of pitas, more were immediately brought to the table. Our orders varied from burgers to the Super G. Not one person at the table didn't devour their meal. I got the Super G. which was pretty delicious if I do say so myself. Their pitas were nice and warm and easy to bite through. The meat was nice and juicy and had just the right about of sauce on it. We also got an order of fries to share as a table which didn't last very long. The fries there are not really crispy...more like long, skinny steak fries but they were the good kind with an occasional peel still on it. Yum!! We decided at the end of the meal that we were still hungry so we ordered the new dessert on the menu-Pitas and Cream. The pitas were cut up into triangles and covered with cinnamon and sugar (much like an elephant ear) and served warm with baklava ice cream. It was SO DELICIOUS. Aside from the food being awesome, we also had Whitney as our waitress who was fantastic. She could see we were hungry and was very accommodating. She brought out the Greek sampler before the saganaki so we would have something to eat while it was cooking. She also was great in keeping all our drinks filled (which was no small feat with 7 people in our party...and I ordered 2 drinks). The service was fast and the food is very reasonably priced (regular gyro $6.50). There are so many great restaurants in Bloomington but I'd definitely go back to the Trojan Horse.

The Trojan Horse is essentially the only Greek place in Bloomington, although it has much more American fare than anything else. The gyros meat is fresh and delicious and the saganaki, a piece of Greek cheese doused in Cognac and set aflame is great. The Greek salad is an average salad, nothing is wrong with it but there is nothing memorable. The Greek and American sandwiches are pretty good and are very reasonably priced. If you want a reasonably priced meal, you can get a sandwich, fries and a drink for $9.99 The bottom line is that I like that the Trojan Horse can fulfill my desires for Greek food in a town that has no other Greek options, but I wouldn't give it a second thought if there was another Greek place around.

Kristey B.
I'm a Greek from Houston and must be spoiled as I find this the worst Greek food ever. I sent my salad back and the fries are like nothing I ever had in Greece. The gyro meat was good, but the sauce left something to be desired. Our waitress was polite and friendly so I gave it two stars. Beware of the rude Burnett who feels it is okay to push you out of the way so she can deliver food. The hallways are narrow and there is no way to move out of the way until you are seated at your table. Our entire party could not sit together because children are not allowed near the bar. The bar here is not a real bar so this is something I do not understand. Overall if this is one if the best Bloomington has to offer I'm glad I don't live here.

Still amazing, but they now have falacos...ok they don't call them that, they call them falafel tacos but fuck them they're falacos and I will call them nothing else, and they are amazing. Same chickpea/bulgher wheat goodness as the falafels but in a tortilla, so it's a lot less messier to eat, and it has the same hot sauce as the fish tacos and the cabbage and Pico, I did have them add tahini on the side though which I don't think it would have been the same without. They just added this last week I guess so I'm making sure to mention this so they don't get rid of them...Trojan Horse, I'm totally talking to you, don't get rid of this.

Delicious vegetarian options. My wife and I met at IU and swing through B-ton when in the area and always eat at the Trojan Horse. I love the VIP and the Falafel Taco. Service is always great. People are always friendly. Also, it's nice to know a Kirkwood tradition is still going strong. ps. Save room for the double-chocolate brownie a la mode.

Eh, wasn't impressed. Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, not very busy. Our waitress rushed like she was trying to get turnover..didn't make sense to me. The sandwiches looked good and maybe I should have gone with one, but I ordered the courthouse fish, which was tilapia with rice. The tilapia was overwhelmingly seasoned to the point it was almost inedible and the rice was super greasy. I think there are better places in Bloomington that have just as much "charm."

Ended up here last week during school week. From outside it looks like a regular american bar/diner but apparently they are legendary for their Gyros...and they weren't kidding. Delicious !!! Added Feta to them as recommended by a friend and it was well worth it. I will def stop by here next time I'm in Indy.

Had to check this place out while in Bloomington. It was worth the wait at 830 on a Saturday night. 1) Whatever the flaming cheese dish is called-it was delish. 2) Falafel was good but I prefer it not be in a pita. 3) the pulled BBQ Pork sliders were pretty good (um, yeah, they have a few non-Greek items on the menu) 4) the waitress, Jessica, was darling a pixie-like. If you know the Trojan Horse, I don't need to tell you about the Trojan Horse, but if you don't know it - get to Bloomington and get to know it!!! YUM!!!!

been going here for years now and recently the food and service has been horrible. brought my friend here to try this place out it was horrible, it was a weekend, apparently the manager was being the bartender so the food and service was crap. ordered a chicken gyro, tasted like caesar salad chicken. got super sick from it. the waitress rarely check on us in the hour we were there. wont be going back for awhile, check your expiration dates and staff to make sure everything is up to par trojan horse. very dissapointed.

Too expensive. Sometimes leave still hungry. I love the baklava shakes!

A Bloomington institution. I'm no Greek expert, so I can't vouch for the authenticity, but I've always enjoyed their gyros. Flavorful meat with tasty tzatziki sauce and a soft warm pita. I also really enjoy their cheese parer spread and flaming cheese. Space is at a premium on a weekend night, but the staff is usually quick and friendly. Good luck finding parking as this is B-town.

Great atmosphere, and gyos! I'm a fan. Service, taste, and price all in in which I'm happy with.

Still a very good gyros (which is all I ever get there). I tried the Baklava Milkshake out of curiosity and it was pretty decent-- it was a bit sweet for my taste but hey, what did I expect? Still a very solid meal and with good service.

FOOD: 5 stars - It's bar food, and it's cheap, so don't expect fine dining, but the food is amazing for what it is! Fast service too. Three weeks ago I walked in for a take out order, and less than 90 seconds after ordering, it was ready. Wow! Lots of booths to sit in too, which I like because it's comfy and a little more private. (Booths are the greatest invention to ever come out of America, imo) Love the gyro sandwiches, especially the warm, soft, fresh tasting pita bread. My very favorites are the appetizers though: you can't beat flaming cheese (saganaki?), and that cheesepa'rer is the most delicious thing I've ever smeared on bread (and on pitas, crackers, and occasionally my own fingers). INTEGRITY: 1 star - The Trojan has developed a rather bad habit of leaving countless obviously fake reviews. Last week they dumped a whole bunch of them on yelp. Of course Yelp immediately filtered them, but this week they've done it again!! Boo Trojan! How dumb do you think your customers are? That cost you two stars off one of your few authentically good reviews, namely mine.

Average place. Not sure what the hype is about. Pretty pricey. Cheaper and better gyros at the International Market on 4th street.
(2)
Steven B.
Food is pretty good but the service is awfully slow and the food takes forever. It was more than fifty minutes between walking in (with no wait) and getting two, plain gyros. Plus the water was refilled once, and they have miniscule glasses. If you REALLY want greek, this place is okay, but otherwise just head elsewhere.

Laurette K.
We got the greek sampler as an appetizer. I was very pleased with the tabouli and the cheesepa'rer. The cheesepa'rer is really fantastic. I am going to try to make this at home. The hummus was ok. I got the fish tacos and they are really wonderful. Very spicy. Bf got the combination plate. Most of his food was not really my style. I really LOVE the meal I got.

I remembered this as a downscale source of incredibly tasty Greek sandwiches. The menu has gotten a makeover (seemingly from the design consultants at Applebees) and if the food is the same, my memory must be going. Sandwiches are small, vegetables are scant, and the spanikopita bore an embarrassing resemblance to what I can get from the freezer at my grocery store. There is a limit to how bad hot gyro meat can be, and thank goodness.

Honestly, I just felt like it was nothing special. The dining room downstairs is dark and narrow. The upstairs is a little better, but I still felt like a little more air circulation would help. I had saganaki for an appetizer and falafel for my meal. I thought their beers were a little pricey. I'd go again if I was craving saganaki.
(2)
David S.
Used to go for gyros, but then realized they make fresh, really good burgers, who knew? Still love the super g gyro, but find often myself really craving their burger. Their fries need attention, limp and greasy. Easy in-and-out lunch spot.

Starting with the good news... The root beer was excellent as was the cheesepa'rer. My chicken Caesar salad was pretty good and came with ample dressing on the side and the burger was pretty good. Everything nosedived from there. The gyro that everyone is raving about was drowned in dressing until it was positively running out likely to cover the fact the meat was salty enough to render it inedible. The mushrooms were good but cooked poorly. Parts of the batter were soggy and all of it was sitting in pools of grease, I actually dried my mushrooms before I ate them. The fries... You know that fast food fry that is weird and wrinkled and a nasty discolored brown? You keep eating around it and leave it in the bottom of the container until you throw them away together? Yeah this is where every single one of those fries goes to die AND they charge you EXTRA for them. Averaging $15.00 a meal for salads and sandwiches was WAY overpriced for the food they're producing. The waitress was a bit awkward but super sweet and messed up NOTHING!! Good service time and average decor but I wouldn't be back.

The Trojan Horse is pretty good if you are a person who enjoys exchanging money for food that is edible.

I think my mouth just watered a little bit thinking about reviewing this place. I guess that's a review that speaks for itself. It's not often that I have Greek food, and my friend that came along with me has it even less, but we both loved the food. She hates anything and everything..especially cilantro. Luckily for her, the gyros don't have any. I ordered one, and she got a burger. I let her try some of my gryo, and her expression transformed from a wince to a smile. I guess she liked the soft pita wrapped around the medley of veggies, cucumber sauce and hot and tender gyro meat. The atmosphere reflects its dimly lit lights. The inside of the restaurant is very laid back as well as friendly. Our waitress was nice, but she could have been nicer. She was a chill girl, despite all of the laps that we made her take up and down the stairs. I think she didn't like the fact that we chose to seat ourselves upstairs. We were actually the only ones upstairs, so she had to haul herself up the stairs for us every time we needed a refill, which are free. I don't know why everyone on here keeps saying they charge for soda refills.

This place has Kronos written all over it. If you don't know what I'm talking about, Kronos is a supplier of Greek food for all over the United States. It's processed and packaged crap. I highly doubt Trojan Horse makes any of their Gyro meat from scratch. Somebody prove me wrong and ask them.....regardless still the best greek in Bloomington, so you get 3 stars!
(3)
Frank T.
The Trojan Horse has the nostalgic feel of a college town restaurant straight out of the 1960s. Unfortunately, their menu and food preparation is stuck in the 1960s as well. If you're looking for a "true Bloomington" or genuine college-town experience, look elsewhere.

Great Greek food. some of my favorite Gyro's.
(4)
Matt M.
The food, overall isn't amazing in any way. The gyros are solid and the hummus is very decent. I'm giving one star extra because I like the front door. It's like the ones I used to have nightmares about when I was a little kid.
(4)
Crystal H.
Small portions, poorly prepared food, expensive. I had the sampler appetizer, and it was fine. Nothing fancy. I then had the lamb kebab. The lamb was way over cooked and basically unseasoned. This was not at all worth what I paid. I won't be returning.

Great independently owned restaurant in Bloomington, IN. I've been visiting for over 10 years. Went regularly while living in town and now visit every time I'm in the area. trojanhorse.com
(5)

The gyros are very good (try the Super G). That's about it. This is one of those places that gets by more on its longevity than anything exemplary on the menu --- besides the gyros, that is.
(3)
Andrew S.
Escaped the hot, hot day by running into the Trojan horse to get yummy gyros. Even better than the gyros was the Baklava Cheesecake. I mean, have you ever had Baklava Cheesecake? Does it sound great? It was great. I don't even think the Cheesecake factory has a baklava cheesecake. I recommend it.
(4)
Dave N.
A Greek theme but plenty of other diverse menu items-burgers, great pork or fish tacos. Quick service and good prices.
(4)
Blake A.
Trojan Horse's gyros are to die for and all of the food is reasonably priced which, I am guessing, is why their drink prices are "bend-you-over" expensive. In my opinion, I think Trojan Horse should consider not making us alcohol drinkers subsidize the $6.90 gyro by charging a little more for the food and a little less for the booze. Just my opinion.
(4)
Laura S.
The Trojan Horse has the best hummus I have ever tasted, hands down. I have tried numerous times to replicate it at home but haven't ever come close. It's moderately spiced with, I think, cumin, and it's more spicy than garlicky. I'm also a fan of their gyros, although they do seem a lot skimpier than they were when I first ate there as an undergrad.
(5)
Jeff H.
Much love for the Trojan Horse. Best Greek food in Bloomington and the atmosphere is quite cozy. Pros: Great food and a good selection of alcohol (Sangria is choice). Take out is possible as well and prices are pretty good for Kirkwood. Cons: Limited seating for busy nights. Added Bonus: You can take home the plastic water cups if you wish!

Probably one of the best gyro sandwiches that I've ever had. The wait staff is friendly and fast. Nice decor. Great experience. I'll definitely be back.

I tried this place awhile back, and vowed never to return. The meat was dry and tasteless, fries were pretty terrible, and atmosphere is dark and dingy. Definitely not worth a visit imo...

I visited the Trojan horse while on a work trip. My coworker and I had dinner here and it was delicious. I had falafel, a Greek salad, flaming cheese, and baklava ice cream!!!! delicious. I would definitely go back if in the area again.

Four of us had a delicious lunch here in 5/07. I had the Greek sampler, which was a huge portion for very little money. Their menu was extensive and everything looked wonderful, plus the servers were all terrific.

Another bloomington great! They tell me I'm a hero.
(5)
Wendi K.
While I don't think they have the best Gyros in town, the rest of their menu is fabulous! I especially love the Cheese Par'er, Spanakopita and Pork Tacos. Their soups are always amazing and the Chicken Curry is definitely my favorite. The staff is always courteous and friendly and everything is always consistent!

First couple times I wasn't the biggest fan of this placee. But their greek salad is pretty good, they had a nice variety when I brought my younger sister and her friends, and gyros are pretty good too. I can't remember exactly what other dishes I had the first two or three times but I wasn't that stoked. My ex-boyfriends mom went crazy over their baklava and ice cream, it is pretty darn good!!! Might be the best I've ever had actually and I've had many homemade baklava... their desert is worth goign in for!

This is the best restaurant in Bloomington, pound for pound. The prices are incredibly cheap and the food is amazing. The Gyros are decent, but the chicken gyros are REALLY where it's at. It's a bit blasphemous to say so, but I go for the chicken over the traditional every time and I never regret it. The Zaziki sauce is cool and sweet, and the Saganaki (flaming cheese) appetizer is second to none. Finally, DO NOT go home without trying the baclava ale mode. Best desert I've ever had. I get all three of these every time I go and it costs less than $20. The service is mainly crunchy hippie chicks who can seem aloof at times, but all are friendly and the food comes out fairly quickly. Add all that to the fact that they serve Guinness on tap, and this is the only place in Bloomington worth five stars.

The trojan horse ( thetrojanhorse.com ) has been one of my favorite independent restaurants in bloomington since I first ate there in 1984! The gyros is, of course great. I often opt for the hummus and pita, and a dolmasalata if I'm looking for something a little lighter. The upstairs bar is a great place to hang with friends, and they've got a nice selection of beers on tap, including local brews, which always increases a restaurant's appeal in my book.
(5)
Chad G.
I really enjoy this restaurant. Great location in downtown Bloomington. Plus, it has great owners and is truly independent. I almost always get the Super G and it's plenty even for a big eater like me. Although the cheese parrer (sp?) is a nice refreshing starter if I'm REALLY hungry. thetrojanhorse.com

This place has ok Greek food, but zero ambiance. When you first walk in, the dining area is so dark, even in the middle of the afternoon. If you are over 21 you can sit in the bar area, which is much brighter lit. I ordered the saganaki and gyro. The waitress came over to light the saganaki on fire, and she used a cigarette lighter. Cheese was ok. Their pita was soft and tasted buttery. Not really authentic, but tasty nonetheless. The gyro was small, but it's fine for a $6.25 sandwich. I liked that they had root beer on tap.

Have been here a lot and while I like eating the food nothing really spectacular about the place save for the baklava ice cream. Also the weekday bartender is a friendly dude.
(3)

Gyros and Hummus are amazing here. Oh! and amazing Sangria. Never found much else I liked, and the service can be dodgy at best.
(4)

Used to eat here with my pops all the time. It was my first intro to med food as a kid. I have many fond memories of eating here. The food is great and the service was always friendly. Keep up the good work!!

Overpriced Greek food, but damn, those gyros are good (despite being tiny).

The Trojan Horse is my all-time favorite restaurant in Bloomington! My family and I have been going here for 20 years and we love the feel of the independently owned eatery. I would suggest the classic Greek Gyros (you will not be disappointed!) or the Popeye spinach grilled cheese sandwhich - they are both great! thetrojanhorse.com
(5)

Good gyro. The Popeye & Olive Oil was different, but good. Needs to expand menu.
(3)
Mackenzie W.
I loooove the gyro here. Yeah, it's expensive, but I find it well worth the price. The waiters are always very prompt about seeing to your needs, and you never have to wait long for anything. Frankly, though, I'd come here just for the baklava or the baklava icecream. Sooooo good.
(5)
M. C.
I'd shove someone off a seaside cliff for their falafel sandwich and fries. I'm just saying! Very casual ambiance and low prices.
(5)
Gazooby X.
The Trojan Horse had more of my loyalty until they started posting fake reviews here. Readers be warned: you are not getting Bloomington's finest, but the restaurant is still worth a trip. High points: the baklava, lamb, and fish tacos, the collegetown vibe, and usually pretty good service. Low points: the grungy interior, table tops that could use a good cleaning, and noise level. Prices are good.
(3)
Steve W.
The only place in Bloomington, in my humble opinion, to make a decent falafel. Nothing fancy or over the top about this place. Just a solid, satisfying and stuffing meal every time you visit The Horse.
(3)
Ben K.
Overpriced for dumbed down Greek food. 5 dolars for one triangle of limp spanikopita which tasted store-bought. Greek sampler is mostly pita bread with small scoops of pasty hummus and tabouli. Why are fish tacos on this menu? That tells me the owners have lost touch with Greek fare. Decor needs freshening. Beer soaked carpet should be changed.

I. love. the. Trojan. Horse. Seriously. The owners are great people and they know how to run a restaurant. You'll find a surprising amount of "career waiters" working here - not just the typical college-town staff. I have a dear friend, who IS GREEK, who loves the gyros here, and I figure that that's a pretty darn good recommendation. The food is NOT overpriced, and I'm surprised to find that many of the reviews say otherwise. Occasionally you'll have to wait for a table - and be forewarned, the waiting area is as big as the backseat of a Geo. ...But it's worth it. Things that will not disappoint: -- b.a.k.l.a.v.a. i.c.e. c.r.e.a.m. They make it from scratch. Trust me.... even though you probably don't know me. -- The fried pickles. Do it just to be brazen. Say it. "I'll have the fried pickles." You'll enjoy the looks of surprise from your co-diners, and the yield is a plate of sheer tasty. (Try dipping with tzatziki sauce...) -- Again, the gyros. Recommended by my Greek friend. I would recommend it, I'm sure, if I liked lamb. Which brings me to: -- The hummus. And the cheesepa'rer. Consistently good.

Went here on a regular basis for four years. Always had great service. I love that you just go in and seat yourself. The Greek Sampler is a great appetizer to share with someone.

I don't know how this place earned so many stars when, personally I think it is just OK. The gyros isn't bad altho there is not much to it and overpriced and the rest of the stuff isn't all that great. To each his own I guess. BTW, somebody recomended the pasta salad to my wife and I swear it looked and tasted just like at what you get at Kroger behind the deli.

they support WFIU. oh, and the food is pretty good

I had the gyro dinner plate. IT WAS GROSS. Okay, the gyro meat was actually really good, and it came with a ton of it, so I didn't go home hungry. But, the rice pilaf was more like brown rice and tasted like styrofoam. The pita was good, but who can't make good pita? The tzakiki sauce wasn't really what I'm used to, but it was extremely watery and I'm not sure thats the way it was supposed to be, I didn't like it at all. Tzakiki sauce is my favorite part of greek food too! I was disappointed. The service was fast and friendly though. I think I just ordered the wrong item.

They're good at what they do. Most underrated burger in Bloomington. They're not the best (a little too swimming-in-grease), but they are very good. Great appetizers. Great service. There's really something on the menu for everyone from American standards to more Mediterranean fare. And the baclava ice cream is definitely worth saving room for.
(3)
Nick S.
Love it here!! Amazing greek food with prices and service you can't beat. Although it's hard for me to branch away from the super g, i haven't been disappointed by any of the other items i've picked, especially their new menu items that they come out with every few months or so.

My sweetie and I love this Greek/American restaurant in downtown Bloomington. Of course, we always prefer independent to chain restaurants, but given that Bloomington has so many good non-chain places, it says something that we are consistently drawn here. The food is GOOD! I lean toward their luscious gyros--either regular type or chicken--the Popeye & Olive Oyl (a great vegetarian choice), and their ambrosia for dessert. We don't have much money, and this place offers good portions of really good food at reasonable prices.
(5)
Jonathon S.
Unusually good and cheap Greek for a college town! The saganaki and gyros are absolutely wonderful. The handcut fries are a must. The service is always prompt, the restaurant is clean and the people are nice.
(5)
Ryan B.
I'm not that into Greek food, but Trojan Horse has a good atmosphere and decent beer selection. I got a tenderloin, which was good, but WAY overpriced. $5 for the sandwhich with no sides of any kind. Basically I spent $15 for a sandwhich and two beers. However, I have friends who drive over an hour to eat there, so maybe the Greek stuff is really good. Also it was super crowded and we had to wait awhile for a place to sit.
(3)
Daniel C.
Nice location right on the square downtown. Has really good Gyros for around $5 a pop. Don't bother with the entrees, though. They're overpriced and pretty bland.

This is good place to meet up with your friends that just happens to have decent food and a nice "boothy" atmosphere.

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

I had a shrimp entree once that was actually delicious...but my favorites are going to be simply the classic greek salad--they put a giant block of feta on top (can't get much better than that!) mm! ... as well as the marinated grilled portebella as an appetizer, yum
(3)Kyle T.
(3)John G.
Decent, consistent, overpriced. The signature gyros is now $7.
(2)Stephanie R.
(5)Cassandra G.
Go nuts.
(5)Stanley W.
(2)Eli C.
(3)Jim M.
(4)Philip N.
(5)Michelle G.
(1)Dina D.

(5)Millie C.
I wasn't sure on what to expect from this place. It sort of reminds me of a pub in New York. I had the chicken gyro and it was good probably the best one I've had thus far. At the end of the meal my fiancé and I ordered the baklava a la mode and we wished they gave more baklava for the amount of ice cream that it came with.
(4)Elizabeth W.
Great food and amazing atmosphere! I would recommend it to anyone wanting to grab a chill dinner somewhere. I have always had a pleasant experience and a great outcome of their food! Their delivery through Btown Menus is very quick, too!
(5)Regina W.
(3)Anne J.
(3)Phillip T.
(2)Robin K.
I ate the fancy grilled cheese. It was great tasting-wise, but a little greasier than I'm used to in a grilled cheese. I didn't love how dark it was in there. It was kind of cave-like and cottage-y.
(3)Jason R.
(2)Casana B.
Best falafel I've found in some time. It's actually moist! Spanakopita is good, though not much for the price. Onion rings are legit. Staff is really friendly. All around good experience.
(4)Paige C.
(5)T. J.
(5)Justin P.
I was glad I finally gave this place a try after passing it by so often. The food is an aquired taste or for those who love Greek food. I also enjoyed the atmosphere that went along with our meal. Not tacky in anyway like most restraunts. A bit pricey sure but I say it was worth it.
(4)Jen K.
(3)David G.
Good service. Solid gyros. Good drinks. An Update is in order. Love the saganaki, super G, and baklava !
(4)Travis D.
ANAZING! I dined alone but my waitress was just as attentive and friendly as if there were ten people with me. I ordered a Gyro that was hands down the best gyro I've had in my life! Everything was fresh and extremely flavorful. I'd recommend this to anyone! I can't wait to go back!
(5)Amy K.
(5)Jess M.
Not again. Pass
(3)Robin Z.
Great food!!! Always busy! Service is slow on a busy Saturday. Love the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings!! Fabulous dessert.
(4)Daniel A.
I have lived in Bloomington my entire life and the Tro Ho is absolutely one of my favorites. Food is excellent! The owners are great, great people. I could live on the tzatziki sauce.
(5)Sagar T.
(4)Julia J.
(3)Diana B.
(5)Darci P.
Huge.
(1)Shannon K.
Fantastic food and locally owned! Great menu selection for anyone. Reasonably priced and a good atmosphere.
(5)Jessica C.
(2)Rene F.
(4)Slim B.
(3)Joey H.
gyro was great but the burger is here it's at apparently
(2)Joshua C.
Trojan Horse has really good food. They have a very nice selection and the prices are very reasonable. It's a great place for a quick meal or to enjoy some Greek food while watching the game (upstairs).
(4)Kelsey B.
I love Greek food but this was not a good experience. Appetizer was smaller than the picture and the melt was tiny. The fries were greasy and cold. One good thing was the size of the gyros dinner. Marginal at best and will not be returning.
(2)Mark M.
(5)Celeste M.
Had falafas that were terrible. Father had gyros that he also thought was disgusting. Only redeeming thing they had was their fries. Still a horrible food experience though.
(1)Samantha V.
The saganaki is fantastic and I usually get one of the Greek sandwiches which are loaded with the stuffing and dripping with zaziki. To finish up with the ambrosia or baklava. The desserts may seem small when they bring them out but they're so rich you don't need much.
(5)William K.
There pork tenderloin with jalapeño mayonnaise is the best. The super gyros is amazing!
(5)Joseph H.
(2)Jean P.
(4)Ned W.
(3)Samantha E.
Whoop!
(5)Lynn J.
Long term favorite place for lunch or casual supper for all my family. We do Giros, best in town, and I love the Saganaki. Never have been disappointed except occasionally by a delay getting in.
(4)Marie P.
(2)Sara P.
(3)Emel S.
(4)Julie S.
(3)Kristey B.
(2)Tina D.
Always delicious. Been coming since the 80's!
(4)Joanna M.
(5)Tony S.
(5)Anna W.
(3)Prasath S.
Ended up here last week during school week. From outside it looks like a regular american bar/diner but apparently they are legendary for their Gyros...and they weren't kidding. Delicious !!! Added Feta to them as recommended by a friend and it was well worth it. I will def stop by here next time I'm in Indy.
(4)Stacy M.
YUM!!!!
(4)Ashley J.
been going here for years now and recently the food and service has been horrible. brought my friend here to try this place out it was horrible, it was a weekend, apparently the manager was being the bartender so the food and service was crap. ordered a chicken gyro, tasted like caesar salad chicken. got super sick from it. the waitress rarely check on us in the hour we were there. wont be going back for awhile, check your expiration dates and staff to make sure everything is up to par trojan horse. very dissapointed.
(2)Scott H.
Food - eh. Atmosphere - eh. Service - eh.
(1)Ellen G.
Too expensive. Sometimes leave still hungry. I love the baklava shakes!
(4)Jonny S.
(4)Steven M.
Great atmosphere, and gyos! I'm a fan. Service, taste, and price all in in which I'm happy with.
(4)James C.
Still a very good gyros (which is all I ever get there). I tried the Baklava Milkshake out of curiosity and it was pretty decent-- it was a bit sweet for my taste but hey, what did I expect? Still a very solid meal and with good service.
(4)Claire V.
(3)Izzat A.
Average place. Not sure what the hype is about. Pretty pricey. Cheaper and better gyros at the International Market on 4th street.
(2)Steven B.
(2)Laurette K.
(4)William B.
(2)Katie B.
(2)David S.
Used to go for gyros, but then realized they make fresh, really good burgers, who knew? Still love the super g gyro, but find often myself really craving their burger. Their fries need attention, limp and greasy. Easy in-and-out lunch spot.
(4)Brandy G.
(1)Nicole W.
The Trojan Horse is pretty good if you are a person who enjoys exchanging money for food that is edible.
(2)Matthew N.
(5)Shelly A.
(3)Frank T.
The Trojan Horse has the nostalgic feel of a college town restaurant straight out of the 1960s. Unfortunately, their menu and food preparation is stuck in the 1960s as well. If you're looking for a "true Bloomington" or genuine college-town experience, look elsewhere.
(2)Jeff P.
Great Greek food. some of my favorite Gyro's.
(4)Matt M.
The food, overall isn't amazing in any way. The gyros are solid and the hummus is very decent. I'm giving one star extra because I like the front door. It's like the ones I used to have nightmares about when I was a little kid.
(4)Crystal H.
Small portions, poorly prepared food, expensive. I had the sampler appetizer, and it was fine. Nothing fancy. I then had the lamb kebab. The lamb was way over cooked and basically unseasoned. This was not at all worth what I paid. I won't be returning.
(1)Michelle B.
Great independently owned restaurant in Bloomington, IN. I've been visiting for over 10 years. Went regularly while living in town and now visit every time I'm in the area. trojanhorse.com
(5)Galen C.
The gyros are very good (try the Super G). That's about it. This is one of those places that gets by more on its longevity than anything exemplary on the menu --- besides the gyros, that is.

A Greek theme but plenty of other diverse menu items-burgers, great pork or fish tacos. Quick service and good prices.

(3)Brian H.
Gyros and Hummus are amazing here. Oh! and amazing Sangria. Never found much else I liked, and the service can be dodgy at best.
(4)James B.
Used to eat here with my pops all the time. It was my first intro to med food as a kid. I have many fond memories of eating here. The food is great and the service was always friendly. Keep up the good work!!
(5)Dea A.
Overpriced Greek food, but damn, those gyros are good (despite being tiny).
(3)Adrian H.
(5)S B.
Good gyro. The Popeye & Olive Oil was different, but good. Needs to expand menu.
(3)Mackenzie W.
I loooove the gyro here. Yeah, it's expensive, but I find it well worth the price. The waiters are always very prompt about seeing to your needs, and you never have to wait long for anything. Frankly, though, I'd come here just for the baklava or the baklava icecream. Sooooo good.
(5)M. C.
I'd shove someone off a seaside cliff for their falafel sandwich and fries. I'm just saying! Very casual ambiance and low prices.

(3)Steve W.
The only place in Bloomington, in my humble opinion, to make a decent falafel. Nothing fancy or over the top about this place. Just a solid, satisfying and stuffing meal every time you visit The Horse.
(3)Ben K.

(2)Toriphil E.
they support WFIU. oh, and the food is pretty good
(4)Lisa S.

(3)Nick S.

(5)Jonathon S.
Unusually good and cheap Greek for a college town! The saganaki and gyros are absolutely wonderful. The handcut fries are a must. The service is always prompt, the restaurant is clean and the people are nice.
(5)Ryan B.
(3)Daniel C.
Nice location right on the square downtown. Has really good Gyros for around $5 a pop. Don't bother with the entrees, though. They're overpriced and pretty bland.
(3)J T.
This is good place to meet up with your friends that just happens to have decent food and a nice "boothy" atmosphere.
