I'm not exaggerating when I say that the employees here know me and my husband as "regulars" and ask us if we even need a menu. The bbq chicken masterpiece is a personal favorite and also the Hog Wild (not listed, but sometimes a special or on the buffet). It's most definitely the best pizza buffet in town. Not too expensive and you can even get a beer after work with your breadsticks. Super good!

We ordered four pizzas for family event, and they disappeared without a complaint. The Cream and Crimson was popular, but I don't do gorgonzola. I was very pleased with the deluxe and our custom made pizzas. The crust was not too doughy. They use quality toppings. They pizzas were definitely a hit.

I've always had good experiences with the staff. They have many vegan options (not labeled unfortunately. As of the time of this post the dough, marinara, cilantro pesto, BBQ, and buffalo sauces are vegan, and all the veggies you'd expect). I've had experience with student organization donations from them and they're very kind. I like to get pizza with cilantro pesto sauce, no cheese, artichoke hearts, and red onion.

I consider this pizza place one of the better pizzas in town. The cool thing about this place is all the unusual "exotic" specialty pizzas they have. You've just got to try! Fresh all the way!

My family has been to this restaurant regularly and for the most part enjoy the pizza, atmosphere, daily pizza buffet. However, today we visited just at opening time and to our dismay were greeted (NOT) by unenthusiastic waitresses standing at their podium as if day dreaming, with looks on their faces like they would rather be anywhere but working. Should we then think that we should be somewhere other than eating at Avers?? Plus, instead of being able to enjoy our pizza buffet we heard not one disturbing and highly disgusting noise from the pizza kitchen but THREE !!! Yes, THREE times one of the staff loudly blew his nose like a honking goose. NOT GOOD!!!! As if my comment of "Seriously??" out loud didn't clue someone on staff to nudge the snot honking pizza maker, then comes the sound of what resembled a very large expelling of gas from the rectal region. No this isn't a joke -- I wish it was!! Will my family return to Avers?? Most likely YES because they do have the BEST pizza in Bloomington. However, next time we hear disgusting discourteous sounds from the kitchen, we will walk out and never return. Or maybe we will just ask to speak to the "Manager" the waitress spoke to about the "Senior Discount" they had advertised on the dining room TV prior to sports (like a screen saver???), yet the staff and the "Manager" knew nothing about any "Senior Discount." Good news is, the staff is obviously not watching TV on the job :) Again I say "Seriously?"

Before moving to Bloomington, I mostly ate national chain pizza. Now, I throw away the coupons for them when they come in the mail because I know that IF I'm going to eat pizza, it's going to be Aver's. Cream and Crimson, duh. Do it. But even better than that (Wait, something better?) is the Aver's freaking-miracle-Oh-Thank-you-Happy-days-Hallelujah buffet. Oh, sweet pizza in my mouth. For $6.99 ($6.99!!!!!!) you get all you can eat soup, breadsticks, salad bar, and dunduhduhhhhh, Aver's freaking specialty pizzas. Go look at their website to see which ones are out today. (Sometimes you can ask for a specific one, and they'll bring it!!!!)

I'll start this review by admitting that I'm a die-hard Mother Bear's fan. Upon hearing the near constant comparison between Mother Bear's and Aver's, I decided to give the latter a try. I decided from other Yelp reviews that the Cream & Crimson was the pizza to try, and let me tell ya, I was surprised how delicious it is. Red potato on a pizza sounded taboo to me, but now I see that it's wrong in allllll the right ways. Aver's makes a darn good pie.

This is a belated review that I've been meaning to write for some time. On New Year's Eve or Day (I don't remember which), my brother and I requested pizza delivery from Aver's. It was a treat, as our finances had not been good in 2014, and we decided to order pizza for the first time in a long time to celebrate and to hope for a better year. Our pizza was delivered by Justin, and he was very quick despite the bad weather. Talking with him lifted my spirits during a very cold and dark night, and I was very touched when he wished me a sincere Happy New Year. The pizza was delicious -- for all you vegans out there, the cilantro pesto without cheese is the way to go. Perhaps this review seems more based on emotion than on objectivity, but it has been proven that food and memories are powerfully intertwined. I am very grateful for the wonderful service and food I received from Aver's, and am happy upon remembering that 2015 was started with a good warm meal.

Excellent excellent pizza. Crazy avers deal is amazing- medium one topping pizza, two drinks, two cookies, breadsticks, and sauce for 13 bucks. Their pizza is honestly amazing and their ranch dressing dipping sauce is perfection. Their breadsticks, however, are lacking. I prefer pizza x's breadsticks personally- they seem to have a bit more flavor. Aside, this place is honestly one of my favorite places in Bloomington. The east side store (by college mall) is never over crowded and the people are genuinely friendly. I believe they also have a reasonable lunch buffet as well.

Great tasting, truly gourmet pizza. We received our food promptly when dining in. The service was attentive and professional. They offer a lunch buffet, but we were there for dinner. I prefer going here and enjoying the creative flavors to the much hyped Mother Bear's. If you're looking for a local dine-in pizza experience with parking, come here. You will love the incredible freshness and reasonable prices. You will also be avoiding much of the touristy crowd.

Ordered Cuban black bean and cream and crimson pizzas and both were really good. The Cuban black bean was a great option for the vegetarian. It was spicy and had the correct amount of toppings. One thing I notice is one piece is very filling so even though the price is big it is a good value, The Cream and Crimson pizza demonstrates the creative combinations available, who would think of potatoes on pizza? The combination with bacon and gorgonzola cheese is an acquired taste. The service was good. They even offered a coupon that we were not aware of.

Aver's pizza is most definitely delicious. I am a huge fan of Popeye vs Dracula, but more importantly the delivery driver named Trevor is extremely attractive and friendly.

A pizza buffet done right! I find Aver's pizza a little too heavy sometimes, but the flavor and quality is always good. In Aver's new "Dining Room" they've got a very simple but well-done lunch buffet. The line features their excellent breadsticks, five or so pizzas out at any one time (and they seem to do a good job monitoring it and keeping it replenished), and a very nice salad bar that has good greens and nice meat, cheese, and vegetable toppings. Drinks are generous and quickly refilled and the total cost is about $9 with tax before tip. I haven't been there for dinner yet, but they don't run the buffet at night. They offer whole pies and their excellent salad bar. They also offer beer, with the usual suspects along with some microbrews. I've found service to be great both times I've been. I saw on their website that they have televisions so you can watch games, but I didn't noticed them when I was there. To me this is a good thing - I'm a little weary of being blared at from all directions from half the restaurants in town. Basically, they are taking in Bucetto's and Mother Bears, both of which have more varied menus and better locations. But, a college town can support more than a couple of pizza joints, so welcome to the fray, Avers! You're off to a good start!

Tough to beat Avers pizza, I think it is the best carryout pizza in Bloomington. Never been disappointed. Their pizza is always outstanding and it is pretty reasonably priced too for the quality you get. You can get gourmet pizzas for an average carryout pizza price, Plus their variety is outstanding.

Since Btown Pizza closed (RIP Btown), Avers has become our new go-to for a good deal on your standard straightforward delivery pizza. The Crazy Avers XL deal is the best, as it gets you an ENORMOUS pizza (enough to snack on for the rest of the week), a ton of breadsticks with dipping sauce (also great noms, as long as you put them in a Ziploc bag so they don't get stale), dipping sauce (get the garlic butter), two drinks, and two nice little cookies. It's a great dinner for when you don't want to cook that night, and know that you're going to need to treat yourself later in the week.

My favorite pizza place in Bloomington! You can never go wrong with the Crazy Aver's deal! You get a medium pizza, bread sticks, 2 fountain drinks, and cookies! Perfect deal for college students! All their signature pies are delicious in their own way. My two favorites are the cream and crimson and the veggie revival! In addition to carry out, this location has a pizza buffet for lunch!

I really don't enjoy Aver's pizza. Great way to start a review, right? So I think their dough is fundamentally kind of gross. Bland, if anything slightly too sweet. Weird. And if the most basic foundation of the pizza is mediocre, how could you possibly come back from that? The cheese is abundant and fine, the sauce is tolerable, if not slightly too much poured on for my taste. I've heard things about how the specialty pizzas are great. I'm happy that they exist for you, but if you can't make me a fabulous, straight up delicious cheese pizza, come on!! I'm not going to let you redeem yourself by piling on 2 lbs. of chicken, cheeses and extra veggies. Perhaps I'll try one of these specialty pies, or perhaps their lunch buffet which I also hear is good, but I can pay almost half from a chain for a simple cheese pizza and get literally the same thing, my apologies. I added an extra star for the one time I ordered delivery: it was incredibly speedy and piping hot when it arrived, so kudos there. Also, my IU affiliated association often buys pizzas for events, and Avers has always given us a great deal so that is appreciated.
