Fresh Food. Really Good. I am still unsure why there are pictures of kim jong il on the wall. I understand fear and tradition but not a brutal dictator. You are in America so you're SAFE and HOME. Play Ball and Strike Out all EVIL.

We picked up carry out for dinner. The yakisoba was excellent as was the PadThai. The portions were good and the flavor was great. I highly recommend dining here when you are in the area. It's worth the trip.

Recently moved back to Indy after about a decade-and-a-half away, and was excited to discover this local gem shortly after my return. While the food is not quite as great as, say, Land in New York City, it's much better than I expected. I've gone back a few times now, and have never been disappointed by the food, whether I'm getting the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Drunken Noodle, or a curry. Plus, unlike a lot of places, they take the request to make food spicy seriously--I enjoy my food spicy, but the "Thai hot" Drunken Noodles were almost too much for me. Service-wise, the staff has always been quite friendly. It's a small strip mall restaurant, so the service isn't amazing, but we've not had any complaints. And they've been very friendly about our three year old daughter, who is quite fond of the Pad Thai.
(4)Kati G.
I absolutely loved my pad thai. It was just right and presented beautifully. I took my parents there, who had never had Thai, and they enjoyed it as well, even though they were nervous about trying it.
(4)D A.
Food is always fresh and delicious whether you're dining in or taking it to go. There are a handful of great Thai spots in Indy but this place is better. I make the drive to Avon for their homemade noodles- drunken noodles is my #1 dish.
(5)Les D.
Decent Thai-in-a-strip-mall place. Pad Thai, mushroom thai and the summer rolls are solid performers. Quick service, quick food, very fresh vegetables. Huge portion of pad thai. You'll be eating it for lunch the next day. Entree, however, are too salty. Still, a solid place for your Thai favorites.
(3)Amanda M.
This place was delicious! The spring rolls were crispy and not greasy, the Pad Thai was amazing as well as the drunken noodles dish. They even gave me just plain noodles and chicken for my toddler who was much appreciative. Will definitely go back and be craving often!

My husband and I have been here twice, and we are definitely going to enjoy Thai food elsewhere. Our first visit was several months ago and the food and service were average, so we decided to give it another try. Our second visit was last week, we ordered our regular Thai favorites-- padd Thai and Ladd nar and both were SUB PAR (I think they tasted worse than the first visit, lacked flavor and spice that I was used to), which was very disappointing. However, the restaurant was clean, typical decor for an Asian restaurant, and the menu was easy to read and fun, containing fun facts about Thailand. We've eaten at many Thai places and this one is towards the bottom of our list. If you are in Hendricks county, I suggest going to Thai Thai in Avon or Thai Orchid in Plainfield if you want to enjoy delicious Thai food.
(1)Steve S.
Excellent food and reasonable prices. I really like the kind service you are given. Highly recommended.

My wife and I were huge fans of the recently closed Thai Thai restaurant in Avon, so we figured we'd give Thai Lanna a go when our most recent Thai craving struck. It was ok, but mostly made us miss Thai Thai. We started off with the Thai "crab cake" appetizer, which was actually pretty good. We usually get dumplings, but decided to change it up. We then ordered a curry dish and two noodle dishes (leftovers are always great to have for lunch!). The curry was good - a little more mild than I expected a medium spice level to be, but it had a good flavor and consistency. The noodle dishes were both good, but lacked flavor. They weren't exactly bland, but just didn't have the flavor I was expecting. Is this a new favorite? No, but it'll do in a pinch. Or at least the next time we have a sudden urge for Pad Thai.
(3)Hannah S.
Delicious and beautiful meals both pad Thai and Thai fried rice, and service was on point! We will be back!
(5)Sabrina S.
I just didn't like it, and I won't be back to give it another try. I love Thai food. I went with my husband and another couple, and I tried a bite of each meal and everything was underwhelming. I ordered the tropical fried rice (which is my go-to at Siam Square), and the presentation was amazing. It actually arrived in half of a pineapple. However, the pineapple had clearly been over-ripe. It had no tang or zip, and actually had an unpleasant musky taste. Gross. My husband ordered a curry, and again, underwhelming. I had a bite of the pad thai as well, and it was overly sweet and didn't have any complexity in terms of flavor (which is what good Thai food has). It was a disappointment considering the price. I'd recommend Thai Thai over this place if you are in Avon and can't be bothered to head downtown for Siam Square.
(2)Lisal F.
Back again right after New Years, had the Panang curry, and was overwhelmed with delight. Tons of flavor, just the right amount of spice, excellent veggie to curry sauce ratio. I'm a fan again.
(5)Gabrielle H.
Oh man, this place is good. Really good. First off, the owner/chef (Kelly) is a doll. She cares deeply out how people experience her food and is always making sure everyone is satisfied by the time they leave. The ambience is comfortable and inviting. While you're waiting for your food to arrive, I highly suggest ordering their Thai tea. Sweet and creamy with a hint of mango? Not sure, but it's amazing. Also, on the appetizer front...I am addicted to the fried tofu. I'm one of those people who would eat tofu cold, straight out of the container. I love it and I've tried a lot of fried tofu as a result. Thai Lanna's is my favorite. As far as the main course, I've tried a few different things and they've all been consistently delicious. Favorites include the drunken noodles, red curry and pineapple fried rice. If you were on the Westside and craving Thai food, I definitely would point you towards this place. The tofu calls to me.
(4)Brandon W.
I'm not the biggest Thai fan, but I love this place! The food is amazing and at a great price! They have a huge selection and are very friendly. Also, they have your food ready in less than ten minutes!
(5)Jennifer N.
I've had better Thai, but they earn a star for the excellent Thai tea. I would go back and order tea and egg rolls.
(4)Jeff E.
Atmosphere is very nice, service is very slow right now. Food taste made up for the slowness. We will be back. Add star for taste
(3)Brad T.
We started with the Chicken Coconut Soup which was absolutely delicious. Just the right balance of flavors. For this dish alone we would come back. We followed that with the stuff eggplant. We like this dish but found that the breading overpowered the eggplant. Next came the mango salad. The mango was tasty but the overall dish was bland (we only ate about half, we usually finish everything). Our final dish was a massaman curr. It was soupy and had very little in the way of curry or peanut flavor. The potatoes were bland and gave us the impression of being boiled separately and tossed in at the last minute as they had none of the curry flavor or color. The restaurant was packed so obviously has a following. We'll go back for the soup and hopefully find another dish to make the trip worthwhile.
(3)Kim S.
It is defiantly not a fast food restaurant. Food delivery takes about 30-40 minutes from the time you order. I think every meal is made fresh from scratch & the presentation is Lovely. We had Spring Rolls & dumplings for appitizers & Drunken Noodles as our entrees; he had beef that was tender & marinated to perfection. I had chicken that was also well seasoned. Both were delicious, tender & the vegetables were nicely crisp... WAY too much food. I was full after the appitizers! Generous portions. Med. was perfect for me & I like hot. Looking forward to reheating 3/4 of my entree for lunch tomorrow.

This place is so good. Prior to eating at Thai Lanna, I had never eaten any Thai food. Seriously, ever. We ended up there by accident, when Thai Thai was closed on Super Bowl Sunday. We've been back no fewer than 35 times. Since February. Of this year. Yeah, it's that good. The owner/chef, Kelly, is an absolute delight. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and you can tell she really cares about the diner's experience. Pong, who is also almost always there, is a fantastic server. Overall they are more than accommodating and allow for changes to their dishes to meet the needs of the guest. My suggestion is the Drunken Noodles. I get them with Beef, but have never had them with anything else. I know, you're thinking...Beef? So, it's probably fatty pieces of cheap beef with no flavor, right? Wrong. High quality, perfectly seasoned beef is what's on tap for these drunken noodles. The noodles are always perfectly cooked and the sauce is delicious. Others in my dining party have highly recommended the Teriyaki Chicken, any of the Curries and the Pad Mushroom with Tofu. Their spring rolls are freshly made and perfectly fried as well. You don't know high quality Thai food until you've eaten at Thai Lanna. We've also tried Thai Thai, right down the street, but find Thai Lanna to be superior. It's always our choice if we're unsure of where to eat for dinner. Or lunch.
(5)Ms W.
The service here is good but the food is just soso. Nothing special I would say. The amt you get isn't great either. One time I ordered a curry with beef. There was only a few pieces of beef. I ordered pad Thai there was very little meat in it. I wouldn't go back
(3)Scarlett F.
Wow, finally a place that says "spicy" and actually means it! I always order "as spicy as possible" at other Thai joints and am always disappointed. I ordered Thai Hot here and it was SUPER hot. I loved it! We had Pad Thai and Red Curry, and both had excellent flavor. My only critique would be that I wish the tofu was chewy in texture instead of just plain & cubed. Great prices, great service, spicy food!
(5)Sumiko S.
The food always tastes fresh. Service on every day the gentleman, Pong, serves us is excellent (I believe he is not there Wednesday's). Pad Thai and drunken noodles are great starters for first time thai-goer.
(5)Alex W.
One of my coworkers absolutely loves this place. We enjoy "ethnic eating" and she thought it'd be perfect. It's right down the street from work and has a quite affordable lunch menu. I'm not one to enjoy my mouth on fire so I opted for no spice Pad Thai. I was surprised when he brought out the most awesome soup ever and a little spring roll. I wish I could have that soup every day! My Pad Thai plate was enormous and amazing. The server brought out "spicy powder" in case I wanted to make it spicier which I feel like I added ALOT. So next time, I will definitely get the next level or 2 levels up. I've learned my lesson - not every Thai place is the same with regards to spiciness.
(5)Ryan D.
Ok a little disappointed that there was no beer, Thai food and beer go together! Having said that - the food is awesome! Try the Thai spring roll with chicken. There is fresh mint rolled in the rice paper. The red curry is great! The service is very nice. They are attentive and so friendly. Stop by for a relaxing night!!

Everyone in AVON, has no idea how good they have it, with this Thai Restaurant...Im so glad I live in Chicago and only visit this restaurant a couple times out of the year...I know I would eat here once a week. The Thai Salads are really good and the pad thai is the best I have ever had. I don't know what they use to make their dishes, but everything is just so good. If you have not check out this place yet, do! You will not be disappointed. You can dine in or carry out. I've never actually dined in, but the restaurant is very clean, and the waitresses are very nice.
(5)Elena M.
Looking for a Mexican restaurant in Avon & decided to eat Thai instead when we stopped at Thai Lanna. Food was fresh & hot, very tasty. Husband & I shared seafood salad & it was wonderful! will probably eat here again. Second time eating here in December 2014 and food was just as delicious as first time. Brought son and daughter-in-law and 2 preschool granddaughters and they all loved it.
(5)Brandon B.
I've been here many times. The food is always very good tasting and fresh. I love the thai ice tea. I think you get a very generous portion for the price. I found the owner and wait staff to be very friendly and attentive. I would definitely rate this as one of the best Asian style restaurants in the Avon area.
(5)Douglas H.
Try the Pahd Thai, Mango Red Curry, and the Thai Summer Roll with shrimp. Check this jewel out in Avon, IN. I have to admit that this place has been around in Avon, IN for three years now and this is the first opportunity we dined there. The saying, "It was worth the wait" applies in this instance. We left full, refreshed, and with plans to come right back with friends. You have not had Thai until you've been here. Well decorated, very clean, cozy dining room, and well attentive staff are certainly making a presence at this restaurant. The menu was not cluttered with a lot of variations of the same dish, offered a great variety for everyone's tastes, and coverage the bases to appeal to the most finicky diners. We started our meal off with he Summer Rolls topped with fresh shrimp. They featured a nice, cool soybean wrap and were light and refreshing with the peanut sauce. We then selected the Spicy Lemon Grass Soup, which was amazing. Hearty chunks of tomato, onion, lemon grass, and other veggies complimented the clear, lime, cilantro, and green onion medley. This would make a great lunch for those looking to cut back and eat healthy. For our entrees, we sampled the featured Mango Red Curry, which was prepared on the mild scale to our liking. However, we elected to try two other dishes since we were in the state of adventure, since this was a new experience. To our further amazement, the Pahd Cashew Nut with shrimp and the Pahd Thai shrimp exceeded our expectations. Generous portions, fresh selections of veggies and shrimp (I might add they were flavorful and 25-30 count size), along with the very best quality jasmine rice with black sesame seeds for garnish, arrived to our table within a very quick amount of time. As we dove into the dishes, you could taste why Thai is my new favorite cuisine. Thai uses fresh herbs, vegetables, and seasonings to enhance the natural flavors of the ingredients. You won't find soy sauce to mask the flavor or heavy, thick sauces. Crisp, clean, and light, the entrees left use full and content. We took half of each entrée home as well. Sometimes people get intimidated to try new foods from different cultures, but Thai Lanna serves these dishes from a colorful menu with featured dish pictures and menu descriptions. They also serve any dish with different degrees of heat. You can go plain with no spice, Mild, Medium, Hot, and THAI HOT. Try at your risk since I selected "hot" on one dish and it cleared my head with a pleasant and surprisingly HOT bite. I am not complaining by any means...I loved it. I am just trying to set the tone so you won't go over board. Sample, sample, sample and you will enjoy the experience. The wait staff is truly attentive to every detail. Fine linen napkins, tidy table tops, and rich atmosphere provided for an unbelievable dining experience. Our glasses were full, dirty dishes were quickly removed, and the table was well prepared between courses. We were in and out within an hour and we enjoyed our long conversation with the owner, Kelly, who was on site and working her magic in the kitchen. We discussed her inspirations for her dishes and complimented her on the experience. My recommendation is to try a little adventure and visit Thai Lanna in Avon, IN. The prices are very reasonable for the portions and this is going to be our new home for while. I am sure if you are looking for a fresh new place to try out, you will leave pleased and impressed. I am looking forward to featuring this establishment on my new website that is in pre-launch. We sure to look for a complete feature with video in the future.

I'm giving this a 5 star rating. Authentic! Extremely attentive waitstaff. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and decor as well. Very tastefully done. I like the attention to detail. I ordered the Phad Drunken Noodle (chicken) and it didn't disappoint. I did say no spice and it was like a 4 on my scale but I enjoyed it anyway. The server said I should have told him as they would have made it less spicy but what the heck it's not Thai if I didn't cry a little! A definite stop in Avon.
(5)Joyce C.
What a treat! In AVON, no less! The food was just terrific. Such a cute little place. Table cloths, beautiful menus with pages of Thai culture included, nice music at just the right level and attentive servers. I ordered medium hot and it was not at all hot, so next time hot for sure. And there will definitely be a next time...and a next and a next! The dumplings, served piping hot in bamboo, were some of the best I've ever had. Great portion sizes, reasonably priced and just an all around nice dinner with my hubby. Don't miss this one! Have passed it a hundred times and only went because of the reviews here on YELP! Just can't believe it's in Avon! Such a nice change from the horrible chains that dot 36.
(5)Karl M.
I give it a 3/5 because it's great food, just not always timely. It's starting to grow on me though. I just have high standards with Thai food. Very good though.

Although I'm fairly new to Yelp, and may look confused ... don't let my looks and tongue fool ya! ;-) I stumbled upon Thai Lanna due to the fact that Pho 36 was closed today, in observance for the Holiday weekend. Just a few doors down. The staff and location was nice and clean. Service was sub par as the waitress only came by to take orders, deliver, and cashing out. I had to ask her more than once for extra napkins, that never came. I assume that all lunch orders came with soup. I don't recall what it was called, but it was a spin off of egg drop soup, with tofu, carrots, and pea-pods. It had a very lemony flavor, as that was all I tasted. I ordered the Thai Summer Rolls and the Thai Noodle Soup for my appetizer and entree. The portion of the entree was SO SMALL! The Summers Rolls were cut up into 6 pieces, and came with two sauces that I didn't care for, very bland. The Soup had 3 shrimp and about 5 little pieces of beef on top of rice noodles. The broth was very bland, and not spicy at all ( I had asked for #4 spicy, out of 5) . For the amount of food, this place is over priced. I love Thai food however would recommend Thai Spice in Greenwood. I will come back and try some of their other foods, as I crave Thai from time to time and this is the closest to my work. Allez Cuisine!!!!
(3)Rachel S.
I was in town on business and grabbed a carry out order. I walked in, ordered, paid, and while I waited they brought me a glass of water. I always like that. I got Shrimp Pad Thai with tofu, spicy, extra egg, extra peanuts. It was good. It was what I expect out of any Thai restaurant not in a "Thai Town" or in Thailand. The ladies working were very nice and polite.
(4)Melissa G.
We had the drunken noodles which tasted like they just poured sweet and sour sauce on top of the noodles and limp veg. We also had the massaman curry which was was bland. The tofu in our curry hasn't been cooked. The chicken wontons had hardly any chicken in them. Please, if you want good Thai, don't go here and drive 20 extra mins to Siam Square instead. If you're looking for bad Asian-American junk food, this is the place.
(1)Mak J.
Good lunch spot. Prices seem a bit high for dinner. Very large menu. The drunken noodles are the best I've had in awhile, and the fried stuffed eggplant appetizer is to die. Portions are sizable, even for lunch. I love how Thai places have certain things in common, like this place was playing the same cd of instrumental versions of cheesy soft rock love songs that we had at a Thai place I used to manage.
(4)Donna B.
You cannot ask for better service. Sweet, attentive, and genuine service! I was there with a group of friends. Half of our group were Thai Lanna veterans, and the others were virgins. Our food was absolutely incredible, as always. Don't miss this gem!
(5)David C.
My girlfriend and I stopped at Thai Lanna on the way to the airport. We definitely know good Thai from many experiences in San Diego. We ordered the pad Thai, panang curry and the drunken noodles with the spring rooks for an appetizer. It was a perfect amount of food for four people. The group favorite was the curry, but all dishes were a hit. I have had better pad Thai for sure, but my dad/step mom who are Thai food rookies loved their experience!
(4)Ange B.
Finally! An entire restaurant dedicated to Thai food on the West Side!!!! These were my first thoughts. I even waited patiently (maybe impatiently) for it's grand opening. I damn near stalked the place waiting for it to open. So, finally I had time to stop by this weekend with my one and only true love. Here's the run down" Environment/surroundings/decor: there's a few tapestries on the walls, but nothing spectacular. The walls are white (or some bland/boring shade of it) which isn't typical for a Thai restaurant. It's pretty small. I'm guessing 20 tables, maybe? Probably less. It's pretty cramped, as they have clearly attempted to make the best of a small space. In addition, there are tables DIRECTLY in front of the door when you walk in. A huge turn off for me personally, especially in the frigid cold of January. Service: decent. We were there on a Saturday afternoon when it was fairly busy and we still received refills and our food came out lightning fast, which leads me to what you really want to know about. Food: mediocre, at best. Do yourself a favor and skip the appetizer soup. It's quite offensive smelling and tastes even worse. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken, a classic in Thai cuisine. I was not impressed, nor was I appauled. The base was as thin as water and tasted like the ever popular coconut lime soup that is popular in many Thai places. I ordered it medium, and the spice was perfect. My partner ordered a noodle dish, the name has escaped me. However, she ordered it hot and WOW did she ever get what she asked for. It was ridiculously hot!!! As a side note, it appearsed and tasted as if the spice used to light her mouth on fire was crushed red pepper. Strange. Overall: decent. I'll go back and give it one more chance. The true test will be the pad thai.

I have dined at this wonderful Westside establishment several times. I have had Thai food many times before and this is on par with the best. The service is very friendly and relatively quick considering the food preparation time. The food is hot and very fresh. I have had the Tum Ka Kai soup, Chicken Sate, Spring Rolls, Curry Puffs, Pad Thai, Green Curry, Red Curry, and Pad Kra Prao. I did not eat all of that in the same sitting, although I might some time. Each dish was very delicious. I recommend the Green Curry for those that enjoy spice. It seems to be spicier than the other curry dishes. The Tum Ka Kai soup is sooo good. The herbs and the coconut milk make a wonderful, savory broth. The server will ask you how hot/spicy you would like your dish. I like "Thai hot". It may be a little warm for those who do not enjoy a light bead of sweat on the brow during their meal, but I like it. I highly recommend a visit for those with a taste for Thai.
(4)Liz V.
Staff is very nice and helpful and the food is good. There are some days that food is a bit spicier than others, but overall good Thai food.
(4)Mark C.
This is an excellent Thai restaurant. The food is very good. I should note that the wait staff is still learning the ropes, as service can be a bit flaky at times. However, they make up for any shortcomings with their friendliness and great food.
(5)Jessica S.
Excellent lunch of drunken noodles with chicken. The soup they served with it was tasty, somewhere between the chinese hot and sour meets egg drop soup ... but the spring roll was greasy and dry. Would've much preferred a fresh cold spring roll. But that won't keep me from going back.
(4)Neil M.
Worst place ever. I asked server if she knew of or can call a taxi so i can get back to hotel. She said ok and a few mins later a guy walked up no uniform, no name tag. No intro and he said "YOU ORDER A CAB?" so i thought it was cab drvr. (mgr brent) He said "we dont do that" "who do you think you are and what makes u think that you can ask for a cab?" "Did u pay yet?. You need to pay and get out right now before i call the cops and have u kicked out. Do you understand what im saying?"seems that he thought because i had brown skin that i was a stupid foreigner. I asked to speak to owner and was denied. Ive never been so humiliated in my life and cannot believe i was treated this way.I then walked outside in cold and down the street to applebees where they were more than happy to call a taxi for me. Thankyou applebees in Avon.
(1)Chris W.
Lunch features lots of choice for $6.50. I had the "Thai chicken noodle soup" spicy, it was well prepared and very flavorful. I'm going back again to try more dishes.
(4)Dave K.
Gave the restaurant another try. Had the garlic chicken and the taste was good this time; however the portion was all of about 4 ounces. For $9.50, that's pretty pricey. Added spring rolls for $6.50. The menu I had said spring roll was included but they told me that they had changed that. Was disappointed again in the overall experience and left wanting more of the garlic chicken.
(2)Rob M.
Excellent Thai food. I used to live in Thailand, and this is the real thing. The pad thai and curries were very good. The thai toast and springrolls a little oily, but tasty. Everything is made to order and reasonably priced.
(5)Louis B.
Like the other reviewers I looked forward to the opening. My experience with the lunch specials was anticlimactic at best. The items offered on the menu with your entree were no longer available and in it's place was an uninspired watery onion soup. The entree itself was also not exeptional. I am a big supporter of independant restaurants but I can't defend mediocrity. Please get another Cook and start over cause this area needs the variety.
(2)Joe R.
Took the family to Thai Lanna for an early dinner. The service was quick and attentive and the food was very good. I ordered Massaman Curry with Chicken and asked for it Hot. I loved it. Wasn't too hot for me but I like spicy food. I'll be going back for more.
(4)Stefanie L.
I have been dying for some Thai food since I moved here from San Diego 2 years ago. This place was wonderful! I had Tom Kah Kai, and was so good. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. I will definitely be back:-)
