Healthy Meal suggestions for LongHorn Steakhouse

There's really no reason to write a review about Longhorns. Everyone I know loves it. I am hooked on the Parmesan crusted chicken and can't seem to order anything else. If you sign up for their email club, you get a free appetizer. Which is totally perfect because their Wild West shrimp boat is the absolute most wonderful shrimp appetizer ever!!

I don't write too many reviews but I had to take the time to write this one. My fiancé and I was taken here by my parents along with my brother, sister and their spouses. The food was good but the main thing I wanted to mention was the hospitality. We are getting married in a week and we went their to celebrate. The waiter asked to take the cake and put it in the fridge until we were done. The service was good, then at the end they brought the cake back and told us they would usually buy desert for the ones getting married but since we brought our own the took 50% off of our (the bride and grooms) bill. You don't see that anymore. Anyway I would recommend this place to anyone. P.S. We were original going to go to Texas Roadhouse but they wouldn't accommodate a party of 10. Good thing.

A little pricier (by $2-3) than Texas Roadhouse just down the street but steaks are better and it's not as noisy. It also has the advantage of being not quite so busy so we got in immediately instead of having to wait 30-45 minutes. We had their regular ribeye and the nice thing was that the cooks were able actually to make one steak come out medium and the other medium well. That isn't always the case at chain steakhouses. We had mashed potatoes with our meal but they don't have gravy. The potatoes were fine but I prefer some garlic flavor in mine when I make them. Our service was great and reasonably fast as well even though the restaurant was pretty full with the after church crowd. Didn't try the desserts but we saw a brownie sundae go by the table that really looked good.

The entire experience was the epitome of average. The 20-minute wait on a Thursday night was frustrating considering how many open tables there were. The bread, salad and meal were all pretty meh and forgettable. And the atmosphere was bland. The only thing that saved the trip was a good waitress and pretty quick service once we were sat. But it doesn't stand out as a place I'll be dying to come back to anytime soon.

I went here with a large group of 16 for a birthday dinner. There was about a 20 minute wait because they do not take reservations, although we called ahead to let them know we were coming. They said they'd be ready to seat us when we arrived, but there was another large group still using the tables when we got there. Aside from the brief wait, everything went smoothly. The staff was very accommodating, my steak (flo's filet) was melt-in-your-mouth perfect, although a bit overcooked since I had ordered it medium rare and there was barely a pink center. However, I liked it so much I didn't send it back. They even brought out a large martini glass filled with ice cream, 4 spoons and a candle for the birthday boy.

I had been wanting t o try LongHorn Steakhouse for quite a while, being that in my Hometown does not have any. I must say, I was thoroughly pleased with the menu selection and the atmosphere of the restaurant. When I visited this location, I definitely enjoyed my meal. It was a fairly busy evening when I stopped in, however I still received excellent service. My steak was prepared exactly how I asked, and the server was extremely on top of her game. I wish I lived closer, I would definitely return. If you are looking for a great meal, especially steak, I HIGHLY recommend this location.

Okay let me just start by saying that I love longhorn steak house and have gone to many different Longhorns and am usually always satisfied but yesterday I was embarrassed for them. I ordered the ribeye because I wanted a big juicy steak for my birthday and what I got was closer to a flank steak you would get at a Mexican restaurant. It was so sad. I said "I ordered the ribeye" and the waitress said that's what that is... Hmm if it is then it's a very very thin cut of meat. I am no butcher or meat expert in any way but I was just so disappointed. Since the meat was so thin it was well done and I asked for medium well. Very tough and not juicy at all as advertised. At least my baked potato was decent and the waitress was nice but wasn't very attentive. she was new so I'll let that go. For anyone out there reading this, maybe if you do decide to go here ask them how thin the meat is before ordering. (See photo)

Came in on father's day and had Holly K as our server. She really enjoyed chatting with the taller younger manager at the host stand as our dirty dishes kept piling up. Service was slow, my steak was mid well instead of rare, and leaving dirty dishes on my table as I watched several other servers doing their jobs quite well really upset us. We spent 75 dollars of our hard earned money only to be extremely disappointed. Our server had a 3 table section with a total of 6 people in her section and yet rarely made her appearance and couldn't handle it. We have visited the greenwood location once and enjoyed it, but this location has officially made us a never again to return table to any of your establishments.

Anyone that has known me in the last 15 years knows that I don't eat at chains. Alright, dinner out with grandma and we end up here. Am I to tell grandma that is not acceptable to eat food from corporate monsters? Uhhhhh....no...so in we go. I liked the shrimp and lobster dip app. I would have done it differently but there was certainly nothing wrong with it. Salads were just fine. Well equipped you might say. Nothing fancy but hey, we're at a mid-range steak house. My steak...I got the 6 oz filet with mushrooms and bordelaise. Rare. Oh my sweet lord. I have eaten at steak houses all over the country and this was honestly, I kid you not, one of the best filets I've ever ordered. I could have eaten three. Grandma and kids had ribs. They all liked them. The scalloped potatoes were good as well. I can't say that every steak from this establishment will live up to my experience but I've never been more impressed with a suburban chain in my life! Truth

I have been coming to this long horn for years, and it has been getting progressively worse. The service I received was appalling to say the least. We were seated in a rude fashion, despite the restaurant being almost empty, and an hour and a half before closing, we felt rushed and unwelcome. My food was way over cooked, and the waitress took 15 whole minutes to check on us after she delivered the food...all my friends were done eating except me and my cold steak. I lost my appetite, talked to the manager, and they still charged me for my drink!!!!! They did not offer to correct their mistake in any way, shape, or form...this long horn is the worst I've ever been. I will never give them my business or the business of my friends and family. I still love the long horn, Avon is the worst location in Indiana!!!!
