My husband and I ordered online. Everything was fine there. We went to pick up the order and it was all wrong!! We ordered 2 large pizzas, bread sticks and a family size salad. They gave us 2 medium pizzas and an order of bread sticks. The person at the counter looked at us like we were stupid when we told her that this was wrong. She then gave us the bread sticks and a personal size salad... She didn't care that we were upset and that the order was wrong. The pizza was very good but, we will not be returning to this location. Things need to change basted on my review and all the others that I see...

Oh Avon Donato's....what is going on? This place cannot seem to get it together. So many odd experiences with this location...and there may be bigger problems with the chain in general. First, I am giving them an extra star due to the fact that most of the time, I end up with the tasty Donato's pizza I know and have loved for many years. But ordering from this place has got to be the most inconsistent thing ever. Sometimes, you get hot fresh food in a reasonable time, often, you get hot fresh food in an unreasonable amount of time. We have had to turn them away once because they took over an hour longer than quoted and we had to leave for an event. I don't know what is going on with their delivery. Most of the time though, the driver is very nice but I have a feeling they can't keep up with the demand of the restaurant. Sometimes, we get kinda "hilarious" pizza. We had one delivery that had our Hawaiian covered on one side with a ton of cinnamon, pizza not cut all the way through. We open our second pizza and it was only cut in one direction....we have also had pizza totally smooshed up against one side...I guess quality control is hit or miss here. Our last attempt was bizarre, I placed an online order and got the confirmation that said it would be over two hours! So I called to ask if this was for real and the manager said yes, that all their drivers called in except one. This was a Saturday, dang! Thankfully, we were able to switch the order to pickup only to arrive to people impatiently waiting, a super hot restaurant and frantic workers. When I had spoken to the manager on the phone previously she had said she had reached out to her regional manager to send drivers but no one was helping. I am guessing this location lacks having good workers and upper management that cares. But I'll be back, I just love Donato's pizza too much to give up.

We came into a nearly empty restaurant at 6:45PM on a Saturday. We placed our order with the counter person, who was friendly. First bad experience of the night: we found out that our $15 gift card had been reduced to $7 (Because it was a couple of years old now?) Anyway, we ordered pizza, Stromboli, wings, and cheese bread. The wings came out in about 5 minutes and my daughter said they were "OK". Everything else took 25 minutes to arrive at our table. The person who brought the food out was apologetic and said they had our order confused with another. The pizza was fine, but the stromboli and cheese bread were burnt to a crisp. We refused the cheese bread, and asked for another. But my wife was hungry so she said she'd eat the stromboli. She found it to be bland (and burnt). The 2nd order of cheese bread came out when we were ready to leave, and wasn't much better than the first; the outside was burnt, and the inside was uncooked (like raw dough). The counter person was apologetic about everything, but never offered to make it right. There's no excuse for poor food preparation like this, and I will not be back.

So this restaurant needs some help - and perhaps some training on customer service. What we ordered: On 8/7 we ordered a pizza that was half onion, green pepper and chicken, the other side mushrooms, green olives and bacon with cheese blend on the whole thing. What we got: A pizza with mushrooms and onions on the entire thing. What we did: We called and talked to the manager, Shawn, who said they would send us out another pizza. Cool. He was very polite and apologetic. What we got, round two: No pizza an hour later. Not cool. What we did, round two: Called and spoke to Shawn who told us the pizza was never remade. I said forget it, just give us a credit for next time. He apologized profusely and gave us a credit of $21.17, the cost for the entire order (we did get the soda and bread). He told us to call to speak with Shawn, Reba or Teresa next time to ensure we were all set. What we ordered, round three: On 8/27 we called and asked to speak with a manager to place our order using our credit. We ordered the exact same thing as last time, just to keep it simple. Except Teresa treats us like we are lying crooks and it's our fault. This isn't verbatim, but basically the gist Teresa: I show that you used that credit on 8/7. Me: "But we never got the reorder. We never used that credit." Teresa: Well I show that Shawn did put the order through on that date. Me: I explain the entire scenario over for the second time. Teresa: Getting huffy, she tells me to wait because she has to go to a different computer. I still only show you have an .83 cent credit. Me: I explain what Shawn had told us and the situation yet again thinking maybe this is their way of getting to know if the person calling is scamming them. Teresa: "Well Shawn no longer works here SOOOOO." Me: I explain that that's fine, but we never used the credit. Teresa: "Fine. I'll send your order. You owe .93. It will be there in an hour." Me: "Thank yo...." Teresa: Slams phone down. The delivery driver apologized for the manager and said they had a lot of people quit. Sorry...it's just pizza, guys. There's no reason to get all bent out of shape over a mistake someone made. Just smile, say you'll be happy to fix it and move on. I was pretty calm and cool about the whole thing during three phone calls, so should you. Not everyone is a crook out to take advantage of you. The one star is because the order the second time around was delicious and cooked perfectly.

Good thing it tastes so good because service is still lacking. Waited 10 minutes for our pick up order that was sitting on the pick up ledge the entire time. This after we had to call out for service at the counter.

Food is good, but the service is slow. Think I'll start using the one in Plainfield.

I normally do most of my ordering online. Several times I have tried to order online from Donatos there is some "internal network error." Not a big deal I'll just call in how difficult can it be right? Can't remember the kids name who I spoke to. Let's just say working at a pizza shop is probably one of the hardest jobs he has had in his life. I called at 450 and placed my order and informed that it would be roughly 45 minutes until the food got here. Again not a problem. It is now 630 and the food has yet to arrive. I called and was told it had left the building at 605. I guess I'm eating cold pizza. I'll not ge ordering from this location again.

The food is always good, but not the service. I ate in store on Saturday evening ( 9-6-14), and had horrible service. The manager, didn't catch her name, was flat out rude. She was rather snappy when taking my in laws order, and then again with me as well. She took a break during my order, to shout towards the kitchen. We were told our food would be about 15-20 minutes. We went to sit and asked if they had a high chair, and the manager looked me right in my way, with the worst look ever and says "Ya, its over there in the corner". Gee Thanks! Don't bother going to grab it for me or anything, im not the one who helps u get your paycheck or anything.... Finally, After about 35-40 we got our food. My in laws got their pizza on the to go plate. Mine on the other hand was handed to me in a box, and the guy said sorry we ran out of pans for the pizza. No worries right?, but we were the only people in this place! My food was great, but listening to the manager yell over and over in the kitchen, and micro manage her employees just ruined the whole experience. The 1 star is only because the food was great. We wont be coming back.

I attempted to call in my order & after being placed on hold twice, told it would take a hour to get my pizza, I gave up & ate somewhere else. Not a good first time experience!
