Cheddar’s Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Excellent food and portions. The sides were fantastic (broccoli, broccoli casserole, yogurt & apple), so I definitely recommend a main dish that includes sides. All of our food was excellent, but I particularly enjoyed the chicken tenders and grilled shrimp. Prices were excellent considering the quality and size. The decor is extremely interesting and inviting, with a elegant yet casual feel. Great for families or a more professional business lunch. The only thing lacking were some aspects of the service. We asked our hostess if we could close the blinds as the sun was blinding in our eyes where we were seated. She responded that "your waitress can do that for you." Instead, it took us 2 seconds to walk over and shut them ourselves. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, but seemed stressed and a bit overworked, despite the fact that many other waiters and waitresses were just standing around seemingly waiting for tables to serve. Cheddar's did not receive a 5 simply because hostess and wait staff could clearly use some better training or better management. We will definitely be back again and again just for the food and hopefully service will improve with time.

Rude female answered the phone and placed me on hold to answer the simple question as to whether or not the restaurant's patio was dog friendly. After waiting over five minutes for her to retrieve the answer, she came back on the line to inform me that, "We prefer not to have dogs at our restaurant because people could be allergic to them." Curious. I wonder what they would say about service animals.

My wife was always skeptical about this place, but some friends and I finally convinced her to check it out. Lo and behold, she's all about going back now. The interior is decorated nicely, plus they have a really big fish tank that's pretty cool if you're five (or 25...). The food is very reasonably priced and the portions are huge. My wife and I both had leftovers for dinner the next day - and I only ordered a sandwich! The service was also great and our waiter did a good job keeping up with drinks. The only thing I didn't much care for was the noise level. We were seated in the middle section and it just got to be a little loud for me. Not a huge issue, but something to note. So, one good experience down, hopefully many more to come.

I love this place. I've never left this place disappointed. The first time was back in WV. I love their iced tea. I also have the spinach dip as appetizer. My favorite main course would probably be their Buffalo Chicken wrap. Plua, their other entrees are awesome too. During the summer, and good weather you can actually dine out side which is nice

It was a fairly good experience. We walked in and they seated us pretty quickly. The seats weren't comfortable at all and the food wasn't the best, and our server was goofing off and spilt water all over me and my mom. But the dessert, a chocolate skillet cookie was very good and the interior was amazing my mom liked her food but the servers were messing around and talking instead of serving us and she never got the soup she ordered We might come back, but just for the cookie.

If you like fried chicken this is a good place. Good size portions for your money and great appetizers.

Awesome food. I Have had the country fried steak and catfish with mac and cheese and both dishes were made very well. I am absolutely crazy about the broccoli and cheese casserole and apple pie a la mode.

I like how the place looks. For a mid price restaurant it truly looks like a high end place. The food is reasonably price, if not rather cheap compared to other places, say, Apple bee. The food is good if you have eaten there enough times and know how to fine tune everything to your liking. For example, I always have my burger bun extra toasty because I know they wouldn't toast it well enough for my liking. Or I would have them go extra light on the Cajun seasoning because they would make food very salty otherwise. I just have to warn you to not get the broccoli cheese side though, it always tastes like raw flour to me for some reasons. But I will come back for sure.

I have adored Cheddars since I was a child and was sad when the only one in Indianapolis burned down and was never rebuilt. I was ecstatic to hear there was one in Avon and have made a 30 minute drove that was well worth it. The prices are very reasonable, the atmosphere is VERY nice and the food tastes excellent. The only reason I am giving it a 4 out of 5 is due to the slowness of service. We were sat down immediately but it took 15 minutes for someone to come and take a drink order although it is not very crowded. Nevertheless my heart strings have not been cut and I will be back :)

All the reviews about bad service had me spooked but I was in town and wanted to try something new. The place has nice decor, noise level low (we were there at around 3ish), and clean. Our waitress was prompt and nice, always checking to see if we needed refills. I ordered the chicken Alfredo with a Ceasar salad. The salad was a bit lacking in that creamy flavor that I like in my salad but the croissant that came with it was great. Flakey, buttery, bit of a crunch, I could eat a dozen of those. My Alfredo came with whole baby carrots and broccoli mixed in. A bit odd to throw carrots in this dish but I enjoyed their Alfredo and the chicken was tender, juicy, and had a very nice flavor. My father, who is very picky, ordered a steak. Dangerous considering he won't eat it if their is any blood. He cleaned his plate. Definitely one I'll be trying again.

Our order was taken at 5:30pm. We waited 10 minutes for drinks. Food was delivered cold at 6:35pm. Guests at table next to us left after waiting 45 minutes for their food. Server disappeared for long periods of time. Our granddaughters birthday dinner was very disappointing. Been to Cheddars many times but will not return.

Food was bland. Very bland. My boyfriend ordered a mojito and the training waitress asked for both of our IDs. I thought it was strange but no bid deal. Five minutes later, we received two mojito drinks. We only wanted one.. So that was annoying. Also, I got the fried catfish and that was just okay. Although, the fish seemed to be very very white like cod white and the "catfish" did not have the texture of one. I asked the waiter and he said it was catfish. I still don't believe him. I have never seen a catfish filet as white as cod before. Food and service was just okay. I don't see myself coming back.

Cheese fries & the Strawberry lemonade was awesome. Service was great, but I wasn't a fan of the menu choices for dinner so just enjoyed the appetizers & drinks before heading elsewhere for dinner.

This was our first visit and we are hooked. Our food was delicious! Our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered, the mashed potatoes were flavorful and the broccoli casserole had just the right ratio of cheese to broccoli. The staff was cheerful and patient even though it is Valentine's Day and the restaurant was packed. There was an awesome fish tank that made for a nice conversation piece. Overall I totally recommend this place. Great food and atmosphere for a good price

I love this place. Prices are ever decent to the size of the meal. Its actually one of the first places I ate when I moved down here. Their chicken tenders are amazing, and you get tons with the meal. If your looking for a nice low key decent place for dinner this is it.

Cheddar's has decent, consistent food, *for a big national chain*. So if you're reading reviews for that, then yeah, it's good. But not offering wifi for customers, in 2014, to me indicates that management is woefully out of touch with the times. Yes, yes, I know you go there to eat, not to get on line, blah blah blah. I'm a business traveler. When I pick a place for dinner after a long ass day of work, I want to check my mail and news and sports and social networks while I have a beer or 3 and an appetizer. Smart restaurants make that happen. Cheddar's does not. So despite the tasty grub, 1 star for you, Cheddar's, for being shortsighted and behind the times.

Brrr! I froze my behind in this place. I hate being cold, turn up the heat Cheddars. So, there used to be Cheddars in the Quad Cities back in Illinois, but it closed about ten years ago. I drive by Wal-Mart in Avon and huh!?! Cheddars! I LOVED this place, but I used to be a royal fatty who adored fried everything (still do really). My hubby and I decided to go recently since we were tired of turkey over the Thanksgiving break. I ordered the chicken strips and shrimp, hubby got a full rack of ribs, and we ordered an appetizer of onion rings. Onion rings came out about five minutes before the entree, which was a bummer. We waited too long for the rings. They were stacked in a tower and were fabulous! Actually hand breaded, so cudos for that. Food was alright. The ribs weren't the best, very marginal. The chicken strips were good, and this is their best item by far. My shrimp was mutilated! They tried doing some sort if butterfly cut on tiny shrimp, with the end result of a chainsaw massacre fried shrimp. Boo! I took home a full meal in extras. That is the hugeness of these portions! I had a raging tummy ache all night from the copious amounts of fried food and grease. I'm certain an artery near my heart is now blocked. Take home message: it's busy, it's cheap (total bill was $34), you get lots of food, you'll freeze, and everything is fried. Not a healthy option. Wouldn't go back, but if you like a lot of greasy goodness then you might like it more than me. Dress in layers.

We've eaten here many times since it has been open. The food is always good and it was tonight. However the service tonight was terrible! We ordered our meal in 5 min after we were seated. Our appetizer came 20 min later. We were at our table 30 more minutes before our dinner arrived. A table across from us sat down 20 min after we did and they finished eating and left before we had our meal.

I went here with my fam as an alternative to the long wait at Longhorns. The wait here turned out to be longer. When we were finally seated, the place was pretty crowded so our server wasn't really mindful of clearing dishes and refilling drinks. The food was just ok. My daughter didn't even finish her chicken fingers and she swears she's a chicken finger connoisseur. It was nothing to brag about, but it was good to try a new spot. It's doubtful I will go again.

I really do not know how this place has so many stars. I have tried it three times now. The first time was when it first opened. Had horrible service and horrible food. Was willing to chalk it up to being a new place and needing to work out the kinks. Two more visits and I can say I will never be returning. Even my 70 year old mother who is willing to give everyone a shot after this last visit said it was not worth wasting her time to go back.

Meh. Typical corporate eatery. I've had good (pot pie) and bad (spasagna -- more on that below) food there. Service was horrible at this location. It's staffed by a bunch of teenagers who are more interested in chatting with each other than getting your order right (someone in my party asked for both their salad dressing and buffalo sauce on the side -- the waiter got neither right) or refilling your water. The star is definitely the chicken tenders. You can tell because a quick glance around the dining room would confirm that more than half the patrons order it. The spasagna, on the other hand, is an abomination. Spasagna - SPAghetti laSAGNA. It is exactly what you think it is. Lasagna made with spaghetti instead of lasagna noodles. I swear I think they just take already overcooked spaghetti and then turn it to complete mush by throwing it in the oven covered with over-garlicked sauce for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Blech. I wouldn't serve it to my worst enemy's dog. I should have known better and stuck to the classics: chicken tenders, burgers, etc.

Visited Cheddars in Avon twice this week. .once at noon, the second at dinner time...Both times sat at the bar. I should have followed my instincts after the first visit and not gone back, but I thought, it couldn't be bad all of the time. I was wrong. Very unsanitary procedures at the bar; both with food handling and making drinks. Observed glasses being dipped into a plastic tub of margaritas, servers stacking dirty dishes on the stainless garnish "bin," bartender wiping his hands on his pants, another bartender stroking his beard and then scooping ice with his hand.... too many ugly things to mention, but you get the idea.

Had really high hopes for this places but really it's just average. The building is pretty nice with a cool fish tank and ceiling fans that remind me of a tropical porch. Service was very quick and the staff is very friendly. I ordered the Key West chicken and shrimp with steamed broccoli and country green beans. The chicken and shrimp were ok. The broccoli was good. The green beans were terrible. They were right out if a can and not much flavor. With dinner we ordered wine - pretty good prices! Their cocktail menu had a number of great options! Desert was the monster cookie which was pretty good. I'll go back to give it one more chance. I hear the fried food is the best.

Cheddar's is nothing new to this Texan so we were excited to see Cheddar's in Avon. We decided to brave the after church crowds on a Sunday afternoon and were told we would have a 12-16 minutes wait, SCORE!!!! Staff was very friendly and seemed in control of the "new restaurant" chaos. We were seated again the back wall, aka hwy 465, which has major traffic flow which was no bother to us in the loud restaurant just need to warn you to throw on your blinker before standing so you don't take out a line of waitstaff. The food was great and our glasses stayed full. The only negative was the croissant was not fully cooked.

The food has gone from really good to meh, acceptable, and the service is in the tank. It is rare that I am downright nasty with a service person, but I was so mad (shaking) at the manager of this place, I actually told him to "get the hell away from my table." In my defense though, we had been waiting nearly an hour just for chicken fingers in a half empty restaurant, and he had all but called me a liar and said we had only ordered ten minutes ago. Also, our server had been MIA, never returning to refill water, check on our salads (they were wrong), or update us on when we were getting our food. Josh was the most unprofessional, immature, bratty manager I have ever experienced EVER. Saving the day was Steve, a seasoned manager who stepped in, smoothed things over, provided a sincere apology, and gave my parents $25 in gift cards to come back and give them another chance. Steve indicated that Josh was a manager "in training" and could be a bit challenging. My advice -- can Josh ASAP before he causes a real incident. If I was a man and only a fraction more hotheaded, I probably would have got in a fistfight with the guy.

What can you say about a place like Cheddar's? I mean, it's called Cheddar's, so I think it pretty much speaks for itself. This is not a place I would come to in and of my own accord. it's just not. My family requested that we convene here to celebrate my Grandma's birthday as it is somewhat of a midpoint between my cousin and I and our family, and we obliged for Grandma's sake. That said, I did enjoy myself. The environment was not nearly as tacky as I feared it might be. There was a pretty funny incident in which a party that shares my surname had already been sat and when we told the hostess that we were meeting a party of five there, she said a name that happened to be mine so we said yes when it was not in fact us but a table of five other people we had never met before. After that was sorted out, we realized we were the first to arrive and took the opportunity to show ourselves to the bar and a few cocktails. I had a Bloody Mary as it was before noon, and my cousin had this tropical sweet mess of a thing called the Painkiller (I joked they should name it the Hangover instead) that they apparently only allow you to have two per visit due to the strength of the cocktail. She said it wasn't that strong but I still like a place that gives you your booze. When our family got there we were sat and started perusing a pretty large menu, although it didn't stray much from standard American fare that I assume is pretty typical of these places. My cousin commented that the vegetarian selection wasn't ideal. Our server seemed overwhelmed. I ordered ribs and a side of side eye to my other cousin eating a cobb salad despite being preggo. They weren't great but they were fine. The sides of mashed potatoes and some broccoli and cheese thing were pretty good, as was the soup I started with. Because I don't ever eat at places like this like at all, it was kind of fun and kitschy but I hope we don't have to go back.

Last time I went to Cheddar's there was a baby stabbing the wall with a butter knife, and the were out of ribs. Another time I went and they told me they weren't allowed to cook a burger below a certain temperature, and would tell me why. Ntot that I blame the waiter, I'm just left to assume they're not purchasing a very high quality of ground beef. Like when you go to Walmart and look at the Walmart brand frozen burgers, and you see that it's basically beef hearts. Gross. But the prices are really good, and if anything, Cheddar's is very consistent in exceeding the low expectations I have for quality and service, so I keep going back.

Boo for out of state chains. I'm just not a fan, BUT my daughter's picky diet forces me to cave once in awhile. Pleasing her palate is important after all. We've been a couple times and I can honestly say, the highlight has been the croissants. They are super fresh and flaky. They come with all salads and are a real treat. Chips and queso are good for starters. They have a decent entree salad selection. On this last visit I had the chicken fingers (for which they are supposed to be famous for)...I thought they were okay. Little to no seasoning...just fried boredom. My daughter always goes with a burger. Normally, she likes them, but this time she took one bite and said it tasted funny. We sent it back. The server carried it up to the front of the store to tell the manager about it and they chatted all the way back to the kitchen. It was a little embarrassing. I'm not sure why she wouldn't just take it back to the kitchen and then discuss whatever needs discussing with the manager. The server also brought me the check without asking if we want dessert. I LOATHE that...even if I don't want it...I want to be asked. This visit we did want dessert and had to ask for a re-cap of their offerings. We went with the chocolate cake. It was seriously enough for an army...okay, maybe 4 people, but still. We took it home and ate on it two more times. It was moist and rich, served with vanilla ice cream. While I don't frequent Cheddar's, if you need a quick family/kid friendly dinner, it will likely suffice.

Today I phoned in a take out order for lunch .In the past we alway were put on hold for long periods, but today got right through to order our food . I Went to pick up and they left out the fries on the buffalo chicken wrap that I ordered. The server that brought out my food seemed stressed and didn't smile once. I am always pleased with the portions and price but excellent customer service doesn't seem to be a high priority.

I love Cheddars. Their food is always good, their portions are very generous, and their prices are affordable. If you have a chance to sit at the bar, do it. Watching the fish in the tank or the bartenders make drinks add to the enjoyment of the meal. Their staff is usually pretty friendly and accommodating.

I don't know how the heck they can keep their prices so low! The food is good quality and homemade daily, according to our cousin, who trains the staff. The only issues that I have here that pretty much prevent us from going anymore: 1. Long wait. Try 2 hours on a weeknight. No joke. There's nothing there worth waiting THAT long for. 2. Loud as hell. Seriously? I've been to concerts that weren't this loud! My ears were ringing when I left there. Everything in this place is made of wood and stone, so it echoes so loud. Babies screaming are like screams of death x10. They need to invest in some sound proofing technology. 3. No wifi. Why the hell do you have "casual cafe" in your name but you don't offer wifi? Riddle me confused. Food recommendations: Chicken pot pie, crescent rolls, chicken and waffles, but everything is good. Helpful suggestions: Don't go starving because you might pass out from low blood sugar by the time you get seated. Take ear plugs. No, seriously. The kind that block out sounds greater than 33db. I'm not even joking.

I avoided this place when it first opened because it always looked really busy, but we eventually got around to trying it and I am glad we did! As people have mentioned, really nice decor (all the photos on the wall appear to be from Indiana, how cool!) and they have a large variety of menu options. Every time we go though, we get the onion rings...why? Because they are an awesome price and sooo delicious. (I will admit that on our last visit they seemed to not be seasoned at all, so that was disappointing but I am pretty sure it was a random mistake so I am not too worried about it). I have been there 3 separate times and liked all 3 dishes I ordered...the service has also been really nice and attentive bringing me lots of their yummy flavored tea. I was disappointed that it was really cold in the back area where we sat last time though, hopefully they can make sure that is not a reoccurring problem. My fiance and I enjoy going there and so have all of the guests we have brought. On my to-do list is to try the croissants as I have heard they are great!

This is a chain restaurant with very reasonable prices, large portions and good service. The menu has a lot of choices which should please most palates. The place was packed when I went and our wait for five people was less than five minutes....amazing.

Not sure what the hype is here! You get what you pay for!! Cheap price crappy food! Slow service, and have not made it back from lunch on time, so not going back!

The atmosphere is setup more towards a high dollar restaurant but extremely cramp in space. You will have to talk over one another during busy hours. Prices are extremely reasonable and the best part the foods/dishes are delicious and portions are large. This is a place you can take your date to or your family.

Red beans & rice were spectacular - I'd come back just for those alone (5 stars)! Better than any version I've had in Louisiana. TIP: Bring a jacket and a winter beanie if you plan on eating inside. They keep it freezing cold. It was 90 degrees outside but indoors was absolute Antarctica with icy breezes from fans. We heard numerous others commenting on the (lack of) temperature, but our server didn't seem to take our "please turn up the heat" request too seriously. As for the rest of the food, the bourbon glazed salmon was flavorful but just a bit overcooked for my taste (3.5 stars) and the baby carrots were sweet and crisp (4 stars). We had a coupon for free chips + queso ...they were fine but nothing I'd seek out again (3 stars). The rest of the people in my party were very satisfied with their meals. We will certainly look for a return visit to Cheddars when the family is back in town.

Yes everyone loves their low prices and large portions but...the melted cheese is that liquid junk not real shredded cheese. Bizarre for a place called Cheddars to serve inferior cheese.

The food is ok, but management does not seem to care about the customers. The menu states that burgers are cooked well done, but also states that, although not advisable, the customer may specify the doneness. Great. I ordered a burger medium rare. No one says different. The burger comes well done. I complain to the waitress. She comes back and tells me the manager says that all burgers are cooked well done. I say that the menu clearly states that the burger can be cooked my way. She goes back to the manager and then tells me that the manager does not care what the menu says, all burgers are cooked well done. Period. Here's my problem. First no one warned me that I was not going to get what I ordered. Second, I got no heart felt apology, nor even any contact from the manager. Third, no one said this was our mistake so you get the burger for free, and they did not offer to get me something else instead. It was like it or lump it! Our way or the highway.

Pear salad Is good...service was slow. I get being busy especially on a Sunday after church crowd. But when it takes to you 2.4 hours to complete a meal...a little crazy. I am undecided if we shall return.

Pretty disappointing.......ordered my burger medium rare, came out like a charcoal briquette, yes I ordered the burger, you know what came on the plate, just a burger, no fries, no chips, no salad no garnish, looked so lost on that huge plate. Pretty sure both Red Robin and Applebees offer unlimited fries

Try the Asian chicken and shrimp salad. Boom! Great food, great value, and great times. Family atmosphere and well decorated, Cheddar's is making a presence again in Indy. The Avon, IN is always packed for simple reasons: fresh food, great service, and a receptive menu is bound to make anyone happy. I have not had a bad experience yet and I would recommend this place for any occasion.

This is exactly what's wrong with American food....cheap, over-portioned, over-salted, over-sweetened. I see a large mass of cars here daily, eat it up America without thinking where this food is coming from. It's right in front of Wal-Mart, what a surprise. They are probably in cahoots, or they should be...

Save your money! We've held off on eating here because of the usual wait. Too bad we didn't continue to avoid it. Chips and salsa - chips were warm but hard, almost stale. Salsa was no better than from a jar despite their "homemade" claim. I had chicken, the husband had country fried steak. Both were large portions, but bad! Gravy is gross - powder from a packet. Tough meat, no flavor.

I'm going to have to give Cheddar's another try because although the place was crowded and expected some wait time; the hostess said 70 minutes...we opted for the bar which even though there were 4 people behind the bar they weren't so much attentive. The time between waiting to order, ordering, and receiving our food took 70 minutes. My chicken and shrimp were cold and hard. I'll give the place a try during the day but do wonder what brings the customers back since I can't be the only one trying it for the first time since it has been open for awhile now.

Cheddars instantly grabs your attention when you enter. It gives off this array of an upscale sophistication. The eatery is beautiful on the outside radiating elegance. Inside is spacious and towering over in the ceiling is a leaf-like fan. It was a neat sight. You would think from the looks of this place it would be expensive, but it's not and the food is delicious. I ordered the chicken tender platter with fries and broccoli during my visit. I received so much for my buck at Cheddars! It was a dinner portion of their famous breaded tenders served with a sweet and tangy honey mustard sauce and two sides. The chicken was zesty and there was plenty to go around. Trust me I never have left over chicken tenders, but with their portion size I did. The fries were yummy. The broccoli was fresh and was accompanied with tasteful seasoning. So great! My guests also enjoyed Cheddars saying that they enjoyed the pricings, options and service. The servers were attentive and friendly as well. Cheddars was a great experience. I can't wait to go back and try something else.

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The decor/atmosphere was great the food was pretty good but, the service and wait was a bit over the top. Here is the break down. Decor/Atmosphere-was probably the best part of the experience. It felt comfy and bustling at the same time. The lighting made this place actually feel like a hip place downtown or something. I know a lot of people think the big ass fan in the middle of the dining room is the greatest thing ever. I thought it was ok but, the mixture of the cold coming in from out side mixed with the circulation of the air, kept the place a little on the chilly side. Food-I had the ribs and fried shrimp w/ salad and fries. Ribs were pretty good (a lot better than I expected), fries had a season salt on them that was not over powering and not too heavily salted (I can't stand super salty fries). The fried shrimp kind of weirded me out it seem all smashed and contorted before they applied the tempera batter. I was finding bits of tail in the middle of the shrimp and it was still attached. I don't know what that was all about it was just strange. The boyfriend had the steak and grilled shrimp w/ broccoli and mashed potatoes. He said it was all pretty good no complaints. No major raves. Drinks-Maui Margarita was interesting. At first it was very refreshing but it a few sips in it was soo sour. The cactus shot that comes with it was pretty good. I didn't shoot but sipped and ended up dumping the rest in the actual drink. Though the portion was good size I probably not get it again. -The painkiller-its a coconut drink over ice. I'm not a fan of coconut or even milky-esc alcohol drinks, the boyfriend loved it and had the stores limit of 2. Service-this was on a Friday night at 8 PM -I get that they are busy and there were lots of people there but, it took a good 45 minutes before we received our main entrees. I received my salad in an expected amount of time. Our waiter on the other hand came around very sparsely. I am someone who prefers a wait staff who is not excessively at our table ( i usually tip better if you are not bugging me every 2 minutes) but, this was a little long even for my taste. Overall my visit was ok, the prices were decent but, not that much cheaper if you plan on have a drink with dinner. I will give it another try down the road when the newness wears off a little more.

This place wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special either. The pricing was a bit high for what you get. The burgers were priced similarly to other chains (i.e. Applebee's, Chili's, etc.) but they don't include fries. If you want fries with your meal you need to shell out an addition $2.09. This seemed odd to me since every other restaurant on earth includes fries with the price of their burgers. The burgers themselves weren't good enough on their own that I was satisfied having to spend extra to get fries. It would've been different if the burgers were fantastic, but they were just okay. Aside from the mediocre food, the restaurant itself was nice. It was clean with a good ambiance. The service staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, the place was worth trying once but I wasn't impressed enough to desire to go there often. I would rather go to a similar run-of-the-mill restaurant that abides by the old fashioned American tradition of always serving a side of fries with their burgers without charging you 30% more. You're better off going elsewhere.

My wife and I love Cheddars! Though some call it over rated, it is a great dine in restaurant with great food and reasonable prices. Known for their burgers, you can walk out spending under $10 for a burger and fries. Their chicken fingers are good, and the Philly cheese steak sandwich is great! We usually take the edge off with their signature drink, the painkiller. It's a cocoanut rum, schnapps, orange juice and maybe tequila. They limit you to 2, but often bend the rules. ;^) The ambiance is cool. Not overly lit, but not depressing dark. Very soothing. I like looking at the oversized horizontal ceiling fans and relaxing. There is a waterfall outside, but the weather has prevented us from sitting out there and enjoying it. We'll be up there frequently though

Loved it! Great new restaurant and prices were shocking low! May have to become new hang out once newness wares off. Impressed!

Very disappointing. Waiter was slow and kept forgetting to bring items. Long wait times. Watch a waitress move a fork on the floor over to the wall with her foot instead of picking it up, even tho her hands were empty. Won't go back

The food is always great. The service seems very slow. I have been to Cheddar's three times and the service has always been sloooow. They are very nice, though. I highly recommend the onion rings or the chicken tenders.

Excellent casual food in an inviting atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone. Start off with the homemade onion rings---plenty to share and just $3.99. Soups and salads are especially good choices

My family and I had a pretty positive experience on our first visit to this new option in Avon. The inside and restrooms were very clean. The food prices were considerably low given the quality and quantity they serve you. The menu choices were diverse enough for me to enjoy a grilled fish taco with corn slaw. I keep summing it up as an Applebee's with a better menu, better prices and better interior design. The service was unremarkable, however, I have the feeling that our waitress was still kind of new and there's nothing wrong with that. Yeah, I'll go back again.

Cheddar's-- from good to bad so quickly! I have eaten 4 times at Avon Cheddars, and eating there has been quite "unique" to say the least-- I have never eaten at a restaurant that could be both one of the best restaurants in the area, and in a short time later, become one of the worst (!) restaurants in the area! Around the opening of the restaurant, (about 3 weeks after opening) there was an hour wait to get into the door on weekends, and the food was every bit the wait!!! Excellent chicken fingers, great burgers, large portions on just about every food item made, what was not to like?? Combining an interesting decor with great service and wonderful prices-- Cheddar's was at or near the top of the dining list in Avon. This continued for the next 2 visits. The only downfall at this time was that wait to get seated, I knew if I wanted to eat at Cheddar's I had to plan on at least a couple of hours. Then SOMETHING happened. Not sure of when exactly the "change" happened ( I guess around being open for about 2-3 months) but when it did, WOW it was distinctly different! The same food items were visibily smaller, AND charged ala carte prices for all the sides! The last time I went, I waited 25 minutes before getting my order taken, and some of the food items were wrong after receiving them! Toppings were very skimpy on the cheese fries. (which used to be so good, ugh) Burgers came out dry and unappealing. Cheddar's used to be inexpensive, not anymore! I think this is the general consensus on Cheddar's now-- I have noticed that the "wait time" to get seated is gone, so I take that to mean others agree with me LOL! I will not return to Cheddar's until they fix their issues. I have no idea why this is, but the next door neighbor Bagger Dave's also is lacking in food quality-- could it be that the best restaurant in the Walmart area comes down to a battle between Subway and Panda Express?? So far, I think so!

Shockingly, really great food. I didn't expect much from a chain with that name, but my ribs were great. My entire family raved about their dinners, with my father claiming to have had one of the most tender steaks of his life. My only negative, is that it was extremely cold, even though the air was off, and we were away from the doors.

Good food, not excellent but good with a large menu. I do like their drink menu a lot, tons of choices and unique offerings. Better than Applebee's but pretty similar.

What a great place! Food was delicious, prices were unbelievable and a very pleasant atmosphere. Nothing out of the ordinary or crazy here , just good American food.

One of the best restaurants in Avon, In. The ribs are delicious, the onion rings out of this world. I never had one of their specials that I didn't enjoy. Prices are very reasonable and the service is prompt and friendly.

Love this place! Great food at reasonable prices. The chicken tender salad and chicken tender platter are 2 of my faves. Their ranch dressing is also on point!

Great food but it took about an hour to get it after it was ordered ....my family thinks thats way too long to get your food. We came to the restaurant at 8pm....had to wait an hour to sit....then another hour to get food. We ended up eating at 10pm....they must improve their process! We gave it another chance and YES they have now worked their issues out! We will continue to enjoy their great food from Cheddars !!!

After hearing about this restaurant from coworkers, my husband and I decided to try it. and I am happy that we did. We arrived about 530 and were seated immediately. The service was great and the food we loved it. I hope they put a Chedders on the Southside otherwise we will be making the drive West.

Ok food for a chain. I had the chicken tenders which came with a generous side. It was enough for 2 meals so I got a box and had lunch for the next day. I will say their unsweet ice tea was delicious and a perfect no calorie addition to my meal. Our server Ellie was very nice and was not like the servers referred to in other reviews.

Ate at Chedders last week and it was a good experience. Servers were excellent...attentive but not hovering...food was very good...prices were inexpensive with very large portions. My wife had deep fried shrimp and chicken, which she said was very good. I had grilled shrimp and dirty rice which was a bit spicy but not overwhelming. I would order this again without hesitation. This is a place to return to.

So I went here not knowing anything about it and left happy. The food is so inexpensive for the portions (my chicken sandwich was only $6.99 with fries). I would shy away from the margaritas if you plan on driving after- they are extremely strong. The inside is pretty cool. Just really your average restaurant. I prefer Applebee's in all honesty

I want to love this place so much. I have great memories of visiting the one that was located on 38th Street before it burnt down. The food at the Avon location is great and the price really is amazing. The chicken fingers dinner portion is insane - at least 3 meals worth of food. However, the service continues to be a complete disaster at every visit. We have eaten there twice now and each visit resulted in slow service. You ask for something and the server never returns with it. You order an appetizer and before you can even finish the first few bites of it, the salad is there, and then dinner arrives within 2 minutes after that. We had so many plates on our table, we didn't have room for everything. At our last visit, the people next to us had been waiting for 45 minutes for their food - which was a salad and soup combo. Again, food is SUPER and price is AMAZING - but with service this bad - you simply can't enjoy the visit. Bummer.......

The food is great and reasonably priced. There is always a wait which is good for them but just don't try to go there when you're in a rush. Definitely worth the wait though!

We've now been here five times and it's safe so say that the service is awful. We had OK service once but I think that was a fluke. They need to expand to have a carry out order area because the food is delicious but the service will keep us away from now on. We've been on varying days of the week at different times and it's all the same service.

Horrible experience. Did not read reviews before going here, but I hope the management is taking into account the multiple complaints of poor service. We were visited 3 times (once to take order after there for 20 min without even drinks). Once to deliver food that took over 25 min to get. And once for check. Appetizers, drinks, and food all came out together---ridiculous. My drink wasn't refilled once until she brought the check. Food greasy and overpriced. Nacho chips 3.99 and despite 'unlimited refills' on these and drinks, you will never see your server so only expect 1 portion. Oh and agree on cold temperatures. Was probably 66 degrees in restaurant on July 4. Will never be returning

Over the holidays we went to eat at Cheddars in Avon. We were seated and the waiter took our app order. The apps were served quickly along with the drinks. We then ordered our main course and after 45 min. we asked about our food. Another waiter went to check but never returned. We waited another 30 min. with no one to check up on our order and promptly left. The manager offered to comp our meals but after waiting 1.5 hours we were truly disgusted with the service and their attitude.

Pretty good food...staff is a bit slow, they have been open for a while now so I feel like the learning curve should be finished but it doesn't appear to be. Luckily the prices are very reasonable...that is the only reason they are getting a second chance

This was my first time at Cheddar's and, while the food was good, I decided to give Cheddar's a 3-star rating. Reason being, our server was sub-par and pretty unfriendly. Not to mention the times he glanced at an empty glass and didn't refill it.

Ok food, good service, great value. For all us Americans who believe good food = large portions, this place is for you! Nothing was fantastic, but everything was edible. We were told the wait time would be about 60 minutes but wasn't more than 15. 3 adults dined for $31, can't beat that! Would I go out of my way for the food? No way. But if I was nearby and had a hungry family to feed, this would work just fine.

Really great food on a budget for a teenager like me. Perfect for a romantic evening with someone special because the lighting is dim and romantic and they have such nice decor including a giant fish tank and an amazing ceiling fan that belongs in a luxury palace. Every bite of food I had was amazingly delicious, but it was so much food that I had to get a to go box, which is really good.

I absolutely hate giving 1 star reviews. Even more, I hate getting on Yelp and reading about horrible customer experiences. However, you need to hear my story before you consider going to this restaurant. We arrived on a Saturday afteroon around 1pm; we were told there would be a half hour wait. No big deal, this is to be expected during a busy period. In fact, I would have been ok with a 45 minute wait to be seated (due to this period of the day being busy, I normally would not wait that long). Once we were seated our server was very friendly and professional; our drinks came back within a few minutes. Next, we ordered our appetizers and about 20 minutes later they came out (at this point I started to wonder if something was up; 20 minutes for appetizers???). Upon receiving the appetizers we ordered our meals, and this is where things took a major turn for the worse. About 20 minutes later I touched based with our server, she said the ticket has been placed with the cook and it shouldn't be much longer. 20 minutes after that I checked with the server again, it was during this time that she informed me the kitchen was "really backed up" and it was going to be a little longer. I started looking around the restaurant and realized that none of the tables in our immediate area had received their food either. I started zeroing in on the conversations at the other tables; everyone was complaining about the slow service. 20 minutes later (no joke, we had been seated for an hour and still hadn't recieved our meals) I let the waitress know that if we didn't get our food soon we would have to leave; we had plans for after lunch. I was very polite (but stern) with our waitress, you could tell that she was nervous, but she was still very apologetic and professional about the whole situation. I thought it was odd that there was no manager walking the restaurant, greeting guests and explaining the situation. There is no worse feeling than waiting around for your food, having no idea when you are going to receive it and wondering why there is such a long delay. In hindsight, I would have felt infinitely better about the situation had the manager greeted us, apologized for the delay, and explained the situation. Finally, about 70 minutes after intially being seated, we recieved our meals. Again, our server maintained her professionalism throughout the entire experience; I can't fault her directly for what happened. I actually felt bad for her, because the other tables in our area were really getting upset and agressive toward her, but she handled it like a champ. The food was ok, but not worth the 70 minute wait. So in summation: I waited over an hour for my meal after being seated (along with all of the other tables in my section), the food was average, and the manager was non-existant during the entire debacle. If this sounds like a great night out to you, head over to Cheddar's !!!!

Got seated right away in the bar area. Tried the new item on the menu, chicken and waffles. This was very good, the waffle was light and crispy and paired well with the chicken strips that accompanied it. The waitress was excellent and kept our drinks filled.

We tried Cheddar's a month or so after they opened their Avon location, and figured we were in for a treat. They had been packed from day one; it seemed like the parking lot was never NOT full when we would drive past. When we finally went, they were still packed, and we ended up waiting for 35 minutes before we were seated (which was fine, we understood that they were busy.) Once we were seated, that's when it all started to go downhill. Our waitress was less than stellar; very pushy when we were ordering, and she refilled our drinks only once. It took our food over 40 minutes to reach our table, and by then it was cold. And what we actually ate of it wasn't impressive in any sense. The turkey was tasteless, the bacon was chewy and undercooked, and the fries weren't as crispy as they should have been. At that point, we were just ready to leave, we'd spent enough time in there. They may have worked out the kinks since then, but I doubt that I'll go back and find out.

My family ate here for the first time Monday evening. Place was packed for a Monday night! We actually got seated a bit earlier than what we were told, which was good, as we had been told 50 mins. Our server was good, always keeping us in drinks and checking on us. It took a bit of time for the food to come out, but nothing too alarming. Here's our assessment of the food: The appetizers are AMAZING, the chicken tender meal was really good. Two of us got the steak and shrimp, and both were totally disappointed. The cut of steak was subpar at best, and it was not cooked properly. The shrimp got extremely low marks from both. I would recommend this place for drinks and appetizers, but would probably not go there again for dinner.

Ate there on a Friday at 3 p.m. and it was already busy, but we were seated immediately at the bar. Our waitress was very friendly and on top of most things. We ordered some alcohol drinks and that took a while to make. Our appetizer was also slow in coming to us and was served right before our meals (which came out incredibly fast!) Food proportion is huge and well worth the price (which is fairly cheap compared to equatable restaurants). The quality of the food is decent. I had the New Orleans Pasta (little too peppery and I had better at other places). My fiance ordered the Spasagna and she said it was amazing. We had plenty of leftovers. Overall, very good experience and will come back, but bar service definitely needs to improve.

Overall food was excellent with many menu selections at very reasonable prices. If I was rating just the food, Chedders would deserve at least four stars, but the long waits and service we got were at a two star level. This is a new restaurant which I believe will have been opened only two weeks tomorrow so hopefully they can improve their service to match their food. We expected a wait due to the Sunday afternoon rush and were told we would have a 30 min wait. This turned out to be spot on and we were promptly seated after a half an hour wait. The interior and decor was very nice with spacious booths, paddle ceiling fans and even a large aquarium. The waitress was friendly and took our drink order which consisted of diet coke, tea and a bottle of beer. The coke and tea were served after about 8 minutes but after 20 min waiting for the beer had gone by, I flagged down a manager (they wear blue shirts) and had the beer in less than 2 minutes. To give credit where credit is due, new drinks were brought out to our table every time they got low and we never had to ask for any while we waited. We ordered and then the real waiting started. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if we would have been told they were running slow but we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our food. The waitress never appeared to notice how long we were waiting, so after 30 minutes one of my guests asked her about the food and was told she would check on it. She later told us she was surprised to learn it had been 30 minutes but no explanation was given and the food arrived 15 minutes after that and it was GREAT! I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and was surprised how much food this actually was. It ended up being 4 large wraps with each one stuffed with chicken filling my dinner plate. It was delicious and the cost for this was only just under $8 which included 1 side. Long and short of it: The food is worth waiting for, but just know you are in for a wait.

now i was just about to give up hope on Cheddars here in Avon, then today we went after not eating here for a few months, and we got here right as they opened so I hope that is not the only reason that everything went so great. But it was a miserable snowy day (Sunday) and we were seated immediately and server came right over, then again at that time we were her first and only table. Drinks were always full which is a pet peeve of mine. Sweet tea was good and usually it is not.. We ordered the queso with beef and some of those awesome croissants, and again we got here at opening so we had to wait a few minutes to get them right out of the oven and they were amazing. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and it was good. I do wish they would throw some garlic or season salt on it when they are cooking it to give it some flavor but it was still good. i usually get the onion rings here but the past few times they were not so good so we skipped them this time. Disappointing that management never visits tables at this location so they are clueless if service and food are good bad or otherwise.

Overall, we weren't impressed. The food is very, very cheap. But our app came out after our dinner. The waitress was wearing fake nails which is against IN food code. And she "forgot" to ask the chef if my child's severe peanut allergy was going to be OK. Glad I asked her twice. The menu is limited and is typical and it was hard to find anything healthy. I don't see the desire to return.
