Friendly staff with a nice atmosphere. It's a great place to grab a bite to eat and enjoy some adult beverages with friends/family.

My wife and I decided to visit Mad Anthony's of Auburn on a Sunday afternoon since we've been there many times before and enjoyed the food. This visit we had the Scooby snacks, a Hawaiian unwrap and tried a new seasonal offering, smoked whitefish spread. All of the items were good. Our service was very polite and prompt. We did note that there were very few patrons compared to past visits (but it was Sunday late lunch). My only gripe would be language from the customers at the bar. F-bombs were flying from a couple of folks who may have had too much to drink. But otherwise we'll visit again.

This was a second visit for me. The first visit started with colleagues and about 5 glasses of vodka on the rocks...I really can't comment on the food that time.... This visit was great. It was late on a Monday, so no wait. Server was friendly, and the food was great. Good selections. Fresh ingredients. Good prices. The grilled asparagus/portobello salad was like eating with downtown Chicago flavors, Texas portions, and NE Indiana prices.. What's not to like?

Delicious! One of the Best Micro brewery's we've ever been to. The burgers were great, and the beer was awesome. Highly recommend the Raspberry Wheat or Pale Ale. Our waiter was named Merrit, super cool dude. Will come again.

Mad Ants has a wonderful IPA! I could go there just for that. It just happens to be an added bonus that their food is good too. They have your traditional "American" food, but they also have different items on their menu like Scottish Eggs (if you have never had that, go their NOW and order it!!) and Gorgonzola waffle fries. My favorite item that I like to order is their "Unwrapps", it is basically like a pizza but it is on flat bread. They have a bunch of different ones to choose from. However, if you are not in a hurry... Order one of their pizzas! They take 30 min to bake, so order it while you are ordering your first beer! The crust is AH-MAZING! Mad Anthony's is always a fail safe for us. Whenever we can't make a decision on where to go, we usually end up going their!

Munchies in Auburn used to be a great place to go get an IPA and some food for my business partner and I. I'd often take my notebook and work. The beers are great, the staff is great and I couldn't say enough about the food quality. Of course, IPA'S brewed in the area by the local business owners is something I was most excited to support, being a beer fan. I no longer will go to the Auburn Munchies because of one employee who either had a bad day or misunderstood something. A few weeks ago I was sitting there drinking, being marry and a guy sat down and began to seemingly hit on me. I'm not gay and politely expressed I wasn't interested. Without being crude and providing the exact words, I'll just say it was way over a line and made me feel uncomfortable. The guy left and I learned moments later that he was the bartenders brother. I told her what happened in good faith and in private because it did make me feel uncomfortable. This seemed to be fine with her, she assured me he wasn't hitting on me and I'd have no further issues. Later that evening one of the cooks sat down for a beer next to my business partner. He told my business partner and then retold me these words "why did the bartender want to spit in your food?" Hearing those words puzzled me and when the bartender came back to my side, I inquired in front of the cook (to avoid he said she said) why she told him she wanted to spit in my food, or - did she not say it? What resulted was a highly defensive bartender that decided I needed thrown out! Lol... I'm a responsible business owner in the community, a parent of three responsible children on honor roll at DeKalb and I'm thrown out of an Auburn Indiana business because I spoke up about an uncomfortable situation. It's truly sad. Today four of us had to leave because this woman was there, still holding some unjustified animosity, and it cost this business not just my business but collectively - each decided we'd leave a review. The tragedy is we all loved Munchies... this one employee made a very poor decision based on either miscommunication or misunderstanding. It's very likely ownership is not aware of this woman and her recent behavior. Not wanting to say names because this isn't about being vindictive - I'd be happy to discuss with ownership the name upon a phone call or in person.

Mad Anthony's was a lot better than expected for this little town of Auburn! I was satisfied with my food of a large/filling salad, and the hummus appetizer was great. The service was pretty good, our waiter kept a pretty good eye on us. There was only one bathroom for both men/women upstairs, so I was a bit skeptical about that. But definitely a good place to get some decent food! AND they were the only place that I could find in the WHOLE TOWN with any vegan options (even if it's slim pickin's).

This place has as offered the same mediocre beers since it opened. Add to that the gnat infestation and I promise I'll never go back.

This place was horrible. I looked up the menu on their website. I've had Boudin balls (their crawfish balls) and Scottish Egg's (Swedish eggs only breaded) and was excited to have them again. I get there and the menu had the boudin balls blanked out. Upon asking she stated that they no longer sold them. I asked for the Scottish Eggs and the response was that they were our of them. I asked for a double tequila margarita and what I got was the equivalent of crushed ice with half an ounce of tequila in it. Tasted nothing like a margarita. So I ordered the calamari and it was decent, but the sauce was nothing like should come with calamari. I ordered a gyro with no tomato and onion. What I got was a gyro with no tomato or lettuce, but loaded with onions. I will never go there again. The service was friendly, but uncaring.

Walleye sliders & pub chips are a must. Also love the Philly cheese steak. I had a raspberry margarita which was pleasantly different than most restaurants.

Stopped here for quick bite and very good. Enjoyed salad with warm bacon dressing while hubby had club sandwich. Service good. Likely will stop back as in between our way to or from daughter 's house.

I enjoyed my Mad Anthony's experience, though the food was much better than the service. It's a "seat yourself" joint with lots of booth and table options. They offer a variety of food (good: wings, scotch eggs, walleye sliders; bad: lettuce wraps. Just take my word for it, okay?) in a casual setting, and the prices are very reasonable. Service was just okay, but I'd give it another shot. Cute retail/t-shirts.

Had a wonderful "Welcome to October" meal here the other night. Melt in your mouth maple syrup glazed pork medallions (4) on a bed of spinach was scrumptious. The sweetness of the glaze combined with the bitterness of the greens was a wonderful combination. Meat was prepared so that it was super juicy yet hot all the way through. Sided with potatoes and squash complimented the pork. Washed down with a Mad Anthony Oktoberfest Ale. Bitter enough with just enough hops to make it warm. Take me to Germany, please! (Also tasted one of their flat bread pizzas.) Not just a bar, but a great place to have a meal also!

Great local place to hit up if you're in the area. Their prices for beer can be a little salty but it sure is good.

Just stopped in to try the beer and have an appetizer. The server was super friendly, and energetic. I asked for her recommendation on the beer with the lowest percentage of alcohol, since I was hanging out with my mom and driving. Got a half-pint of the Stout (brewed in Fort Wayne), and it was wonderful. We got the hummus and veggie plate, light and satisfying. Will definitely be back to try other beers.

Yummy beer, OK food, but beer saved the day, live music when I was there, so that was nice, but I am happy to see this place doing good, just passing though to visit some family, might stop by on my way back!

The beer here is so good! The food I ordered was good. When I come back I'll try something else from the food menu. Service was great! I definitely recommend this place!

This place is the best bar in Auburn, just went the other day and I really enjoyed it. Their menu is huge and there were a ton of options. We went on a Monday, so it was half off pint night- the raspberry wheat beer is delicious! The pizza had a thinner crust, but it looked like a deep dish because it had so many toppings. It wasn't really my style (I like my carbs) but it sure was piled high. Too bad I filled up on apps to enjoy it! Will return for a beer and app. Maybe I will try one of their flat bread pizza things- that sounded good.

First off, our waitress was nice! That was the best part of our meal. There were obscenities coming from the kitchen, flies and the food was just okay. Wouldn't recommend and won't go back!

Had lunch here when in town to see the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum which is only about mile away. The restaurant is located in downtown Auburn and plenty of parking on the street, at least on a Tuesday. It is located in an old building and has rustic, bar like atmosphere. It is a microbrewery and had nice selection of beer. My wife had a raspberry beer which she really enjoyed. I had the catfish poorboy sand which which came with one side. I had the German potato salad. Both were good, but not outstanding. My wife had a large salad which was good, but so choose an Asian dressing which she loved. They make the dressing in house and contains orange, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and ginger. We had a great waitress and overall a nice experience.

I just went here tonight (2/26/11) for dinner with my wife and a friend. They shared a #3 pizza (thin crust, but prepared in a pan and piled up with sausage, green and red bell peppers, onions and cheese) ($14.95)...it was excellent!! I had the Jambalya on linguini $14.95)...also excellent (VERY SPICY!!). We didn't try any of the beers. I did notice several people at the bar smoking, but didn't see anybody at the tables smoking. I thought it was no longer legal to allow smoking indoors in a public place in Indiana. As we were leaving around 6pm, a band was setting up to play, but we didn't stick around to listen. Good food, good service, a little pricey.

I am very disappointed in my experience at this restaurant. My mother and I have had an annual tradition for the past few years where we attend the "Great American Garage Sale" in Auburn and then have lunch at Mad Anthony's. I travel up from Cincinnati and my mother lives in Bluffton so it is a day we both look forward to each year. This year, as usual, we went from the garage sale to Mad Anthony's, hungry and ready for a tasty Scotch egg appetizer, good beer and whatever else we decided to order. When we got inside, the restaurant was fairly busy but there were many empty tables both visible inside the restaurant and inside the bar area. The bar itself had two patrons there but was otherwise empty. When the hostess appeared, she asked how many in our party. I answered "two...and we'd love a booth if there is one." The hostess consulted with a waitress as to the status of a booth at the far end of the restaurant. There was another visibly empty booth near us. As stated earlier, there were quite a few empty tables as well. However, for whatever reason, the hostess suddenly turned to us and stated that the restaurant was actually full and that they had no tables currently and that there would be a significant wait. Confused, I asked her how that could be and she mumbled something about having a "25 top" and a 40 top" including booths. I asked her about the bar area and she said, "we are completely packed and you will have to wait." I asked how long and she hesitated and said...45 minutes, at least...maybe an hour." Now, bear in mind, my mother and are presentable people. We shower/bathe regularly. We were dressed nicely...we might have looked a little tired having been to the garage sale but other than that, there was really no reason for us to be shunned. I know I should have questioned the hostess whose name I didn't catch but she was blond with some form of dreadlocks but as is often the case when you are completely taken aback, I couldn't think of anything to do but leave, perplexed and only later think of all the things I should have said. It could be that perhaps there was a private event booked but there was no sign of it. Perhaps there was a party whose guests had not yet arrived. However, if this was the case, why didn't the hostess simply say that? Why would there only be a wait of an hour if the restaurant was about to be stormed by a party of 40 or, even, 25? I can really only think of two possibilities: 1) the restaurant was filled with invisible people and my mother and I simply could not see or hear them enjoying their pub grub and microbrews or, more likely, 2) the hostess didn't want to seat us. I'm not sure why we were turned away. We ended up going down the street to Applebees where the hostess had no trouble seating us and we had excellent waiter service. Obviously, I'm disappointed. I'd like to give the hostess the benefit of the doubt and hope she just lacked good communication skills but, as a rejected patron, it's not exactly what you expect out of a restaurant that was a tradition. I'm not sure if we will continue the tradition of going there next year. It sours me a little towards the other location I frequent when I'm in the area in Fort Wayne. Whether or not it was simply a question of the hostess not being able to explain herself or that we were undesirable for whatever reason, being turned away from a half empty restaurant is not fun...particularly when you've been looking forward to it for a while.

Just bought a house in Auburn Indiana. After looking at homes, we decided to look for a place to eat. Moving from Madison WI where they had great brew pubs and diners on every corner, Mad Anthony's seemed like the perfect choice! It did not disappoint. My husband loved the great variety of brews, found one he loved and the menu had a lot of great options. My husband ordered a burger, me, a wrap. The service was friendly and quick. Their home made chips were so, so good! All of the food was really good. The downside....smoking in the bar made the whole place smell like smoke. In the past 2 years we have lived in MI, TX, and WI, none of which allows smoking in bars or restaurants. Food, service was great. Leaving there smelling like an ashtray, not so cool.

Love the appetizers, food is consistently good, servers are great. We had the same one 2 months apart and she remembered what we drank. It is a little hidden, of the court square but worth it

MA reminds me if several Mid-West brew houses. The original in Fort Wayne was always crowded and noisy. However, this one was on the quiet side and we could carry on a normal conversation on a Monday evening without having to shout at one another. Started off with the Summer Wheat and then had the Auburn Ale(?) with the chicken tenders platter in between those drinks. The beer was as good as I remember when I first visited Mad Anthony in Fort Wayne over eight years ago. The chicken tenders was good and crispy and the honey mustard was tasty without being too zesty for my taste. Service was great. Our waitress swapped out my 'slaw for extra fries without asking (thank you!). My only grip was that they allow indoor smoking. In this day and age, indoor smoking almost seems "barbaric".

Should just say Man Anthony's not munchies. Anyway, stumbled onto this place by accident and loved the food and service. Unique selection of appetizers and nachos were crazy good. Waitress was excellent to say the least and we just enjoyed it. Older interior with a slight smoke smell but large and open and not noticeable where we were. Great Place.

The food here is good albeit a little on the pricey side. I would recommend the unwraps.
