Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Just because the staff doesn't present pretty smiling faces and "flair" buttons (see "Office Space") doesn't mean they are rude. Sure the metal is blaring, and they have that indifferent teen sulkiness. They don't hide the fact that they don't care about your button-down, milquetoast life because they f...kin' rock out, and you are a pimple on humanity's ass, dude. If you want fake smiles and feigned interest in your dining experience, go elsewhere. That said, I love their lunch slice special, and I eat it there because, even though I'm not a head-banging metal head, I do have a nut sack with hair on it. It's not the most refreshing dining experience, and I wouldn't recommend dining in for families. But the pizza is so good that I practically inhale it in one bite, which limits my exposure to the den of hell sounds pounding away on the other side of the wall. The crust is ultra-thin (cracker) with high-quality sausage that has never produced gristle and a tangy sauce. I like a thicker crust, usually, but this is good pizza, end of story. They also have a double decker (exactly what it sounds like) which I haven't tried, and I haven't done the deep-dish yet either, which is a pan pizza. So, if you're on your lunch break, or buying lunch for your office, you have a better-than-average choice in the Zion/Waukegan/Winthrop area. If you are a family, and you like serving your kids the sub-par dog-vomit pizza from chains that advertise on television, you have lots to choose from in Waukegan and the environs. But if you love your kids, and you want your kids to love you in your old age, then do yourself a favor and give them the priceless experience of ordering takeout and eating the real thing from a hometown pizzeria. Sure, it costs a little more, but consider it to be insurance against being stuck in a malodorous state-run senior facility in your twilight years. And rock on.

Had pizza delivered for a lunch and learn. Food quality is mediocre at best. The thin crust was ok. The toppings were plenty, not very flavorful. The side salad was absolutely gross. It was last weeks bag salad all brown. No other embellishments. Just a cupful of that crap for $3!! Unreal. Too bad I bought two to pass around. No one ate it, it was tossed. Two stars for pizza, zero for side salad.

On our way from Chicago, our driver highly recommended this place, claiming it is one of the best pizza places in town. Well as far as uniqueness and taste, he was right on. We ordered the 12 in Pepperoni and sausage thin crust pizza with 6 pc hot wings and they were pretty good. OVERALL I'm glad I tried this place out, it really isn't a pizza place to fly from West Texas for but it is worth the try! Good job Pizza House, you sure put the other regular pizza chains in check!

I always order out since its a small venue. Ill have to say that I believe I tried everything on they menu and everything surpasses my expectations. My wife loves the pizza here and so do I. If you live in the area and never came here ..............SHAME ON YOU!

I am going to give it three stars...the Pizza deserves five stars and the customer service deserves no stars. This is as unbiased as it gets. I have grown up in the area and while i was growing up i had Pizza House at least once a week for 5+ years. Their pizza is fabulous, some of the best that i have ever had. I don't live in the area anymore but was around the area of Pizza House during a weekend and decided to pop in and get a large pepporoni pizza. The pizza was delicious as always but the customer service that i received was some of the worst that i have ever received in my life. I am not one to get mad but the way i was treated by one of their employees who was the manager on duty really angered me. I was angered to the point that i would feel uncomfortable going back to a place that i somewhat grew up at. As great as their pizza is, i am not going to be treated that way. I would consider going back but it would be hard for me to go back in there. Great pizza and terrible customer service is the theme of Pizza House.

Pizza House is like a gift from God. EVERYTHING is as good as it gets. The pizza is out of this world good, and there is nowhere else that even compares. As some of the previous reviews suggest, the staff can be a little on the indifferent side, but as long as the food they are serving remains as good as it has been for the past 15+ years, I don't have a problem that. I love the thin crust with onion, and hot oil peppers. If you enjoy a kick, you have to try the hot oil peppers. If this place ever goes out of business, I will honestly shed a tear. It is one of the best things about Zion, and it has been for a looooong time!

Pizza House is one of the best pizza places in the county. All of their pizzas are awesome!! Anyone that writes otherwise about this establishment does not know good pizza. My family and friends have ordered here for many years and consider this our favorite pizza place.

Was looking for a different place in the area to get pizza. Thought we'd give it a try since it had dine-in. We got there and things were looking good when we saw the stuffed pizza waiting at the counter. We ordered two small thin crust pizzas, a side of mozzarella sticks, and two sodas. Had to get up from the table and walk to the counter each time to pick up the drinks, mozzarella sticks, and the pizzas. And the long wait for two small pizzas on a Wednesday night seemed a bit much. The pizza was not impressive in the least. The crust was like an unsalted cracker. I finished mine because I was too hungry to care at the time. We took most of the other one home, and it didn't reheat all that well. I wasn't about to waste any since it came to the amazing price of $31. I think that hurt the most. A frozen store-brand pizza is more satisfying. Maybe we should have gotten a stuffed pizza. I'd give it a try, but I wouldn't spend my own money on it at this point.

If you want great food accompanied by extremely rude and unfriendly owner/employees then Pizza House is for you. No doubt I have been addicted to their italian beefs for many years now but today was the final day I will be patronizing a business that has absolutely no respect for their customers. To make a long story short, I placed a phone order and after a very rude attitude by the employee...I told him to just scratch the order and go to 'the park'. This is definitely not the 1st time this has happened over the past 11yrs that I've lived in the area, but it was definitely the last. I have proceeded to remove their phone number from my contacts and will never spend another penny there. Business must be great because I can't imagine more people will not boycott these unprofessional practices!

No it's not about fake smiles. It's about having the capability to say hello and thank you when I give you my money. The last time I went in there they were extremely rude to an old man. They are beyond teenager snobs because the woman who is always there is in her 50's. They are by far the rudest nastiest people I have ever came across ordering pizza, and other reviewers agree. Go to Potestas, they're nice and have great food. Pizza is even half price on Wednesdays and Sundays. If you act like you're bothered to take my order and can't thank me for the money I do have then I will gladly go elsewhere. I had to draw the line at abusing senior citizens. Don't go to Pizza House.

The pizza is flavorful, but if you're counting on someone to get your order right, go somewhere else. I ordered a deep dish pizza, paid over $20 and received a thin crust. Besides the fact that the woman taking the order didn't listen....I clearly said deep dish.... I had to call back a second time for the total which included a $2.00 delivery charge. To add insult to injury, the pizza was only lukewarm...not even hot. I'll go back to Roma Pizza in Winthrop Harbor from now on.

Cardboard with toppings would have been better. Most cheap frozen from the store would have been better. Ordered half dozen wings. These were all bone and no meat. On fact several of these were twisted in to shapes that didnt resemble a wing. All breading a nd fat no meat. Most places i have ever had wings at have more meat on one wing than they had on 6 f the wings from this place. Have no idea how anyone gives this place more that one star!!!!

This is for sure the best pizza place in the area. It reminds me of a local pizza joint that used to be in my home town, Pat's pizza (sad it closed). The double decker pizza that is our favorite to order. I also quite like their thin crust, nice and crispy and well seasoned. We have only gotten take out, but everyone there has been very friendly in my experience. If you are in the area, I would recommend them to try for pizza (we haven't tried anything else on the menu, so I can't say about other items).
