Long before our town was populated this was one of the few places in town to eat. Although the new location was a bit of the upgrade nothing has really changed. The waitresses are hit and miss on personality. You can have a good visit with a happy waitress or you can have a visit with a grumpy waitress or on this visit we were in the cross fire between the waitress and the owners. This has always been a "down home" place and there are many times when you become part of the family, attitude and all, and are forgotten as the customer. The owners and managers are typically cold fish and have no problems yelling or fighting with their staff in front of customers. Quite the poor display to my friend who was a first time and most likely last time visitor. Breakfast and the rare lunch are as far as I go. The food is a below average fare and I would NEVER eat dinner here. I would recommend eating breakfast here over Belle's, however.

No, no, no. In a town that struggles for decent eateries, it's has far better breakfast spots than this one. Bland, tasteless choices at too high of a price. Pleasant enough service but food quality suffers. I can't, for the life me, understand why there are cars in their parking lot when there are choices like Southern Belle and the oft underrated Silver Dollar so close by.

This is our go-to restaurant for breakfast, lunch n dinner. Our Toddlers also love their food and ice cream (of course). Great, big salads and tasty house dressing. Awesome homemade soups. Daily specials. I like their fish too (not fried), it just takes a little longer to make. Friendly and accommodating staff (I'm pretty picky :-). Clean facilities.

Okay so we went back here Thursday for dinner. I didn't like a single thing I ordered (except the fries we shared,) but the guys liked their burger and sandwich. I had the hot beef sandwich, it was awful. It's the same beef they use for their Italian beef sandwiches. It just tasted odd, and not good. The gravy was bland. So I sent it back and got a piece of chocolate cake. It was super dry. I know it had been sitting out for days. It was bad. So I gave that to my boyfriend and tried the coconut cream pie. This wasn't awful but it wasn't good. It was really thick and didn't taste much like anything at all. I'm really disappointed. It was just us and one other elderly couple in the place. Our waitress was nice. The tea was good. But the food sucked. I'm not going back to this place. By the looks of the big empty dining room, not a lot of others are going either. My suggestion for this place is to condense the menu, cook the minimal amount of things, and cook them well, and cook them fresh. I know the food I ate wasn't fresh. You're trying to do too much and the quality is suffering. Maybe I should give it 2 stars because I've never had a better french fry, but I ordered 3 things and all 3 were bad.

We have been a fan of Sunfield's every since they came to Yorkville years ago - both at the original location and now their new one. Food is always good, wait staff always friendly - don't know who said it was hit and miss - we have never had an issue with their friendliness. We eat here frequently are are recognized when we walk in the door. Not the fanciest restaurant as far as decor but I don't go there to eat the decorations - just good food & good service and consistent.

I drive through Yorkville, IL every couple of weeks or so, and occasionally have the need and time to stop for dinner. The problem is that Yorkville is a bit of a culinary wasteland. On a recent trip through Yorkville we stopped for dinner at Sunfield's. My expectations were not high, as this place is essentially the same as every other "family" restaurant of this kind. Well, they exceeded my expectations. For its type of restaurant, Sunfield's is quite good. I ordered the "broasted" chicken since I haven't had "broasted" anything in quite a while and I'm a bit of a sucker for chicken prepared that way. The salads were fresh and crisp although the dressings were from a big tub. Not unexpected. The chicken was perfect. Ultra crispy outside and juicy, tender inside. I really was beside myself at how good it was. The fries provided with the chicken were more like steak fries and were good. Service was about as expected at that time of day. Overall, a solid "big menu" family restaurant. I'm sure we'll be back next time we're heading through town.

Every time my in-laws come out to visit, they want to go to Sunfield's. They have a large menu and its a great place to bring a big family and sit around a big table. Good food and good times. BTW... great new location to boot!

Wow, all I have to say about the first reviewer is stick to reviewing the resturant and not how you feel about the people in the town. As someone who lives in Yorkville and does not have "baby daddy". Conversations I find his remarks truely offensive. As for the sunfield, I will admit I did not like it at all in their old location buy now that they have built their own building off of 34 in front of marketplace I enjoy it. They have revamped their menu and changed the whole feel of the place. It is a cute place to stop and get breakfast or lunch with a friend.

This is the only place we have found locally that serves great breakfast food in a clean dinning room. We love the food and keep coming back for more!

My wife and I frequent this restaurant and really enjoy both the food and friendly service! They have a good menu to choose from and the food is always what you expect... This is the go to place for breakfast in Yorkville...

Since we moved out this way we've been coming here on and off. I came a lot when I was pregnant because I just didnt feel like cooking. We always go for breakfast. The food is always consistent, and the fresh squeezed OJ is awesome. I just wouldnt expect much for service, the waitress's are fast to walk off, abrupt, and somewhat clumsy. They don't really great you at the door when you walk in either, we're usually standing around waiting for a couple of minutes. And then checking out we often stand around waiting also. So dont expect much for service, but the breakfast is always good. Not as greasy as Denny's or iHop.

The only place in yorkville we go for breakfast. Great service, better than good food. Would never attempt dinner at this place.

I've been a few times and the food is ok, but service is definitely lacking on Sunday mornings.

So long as expectations are set, this place is great! I love going with my parents. Big meals, starting with out-of-this-world soup, accompanied by great, friendly service for a mere $9.95? Sign me up. I'm often the youngest diner there, but I don't mind at all. I feel comfortable at a place with comfy booths, timely refills, and pages and pages of menu items to choose from. Given that this is a Greek diner, I've ordered a variation of a gyro several times. Always order extra tzatziki sauce (cucumber sauce) and dip your fries in it! So good. Never pass on the soup, because it's always delicious.

One of my favorite things to order is the Tuna Melt, I pick white bread instead of rye. I like the fact that the size of the sandwich is just right, enough seasoned & not overloaded with mayo. I keep on coming back each time for it. I love the fries too, they are thicker and crispy which are my over all favorite type. Oh and the soups, how can I forget about them, my all time favorites are the cream of asparagus, mushroom and broccoli, delish ! Owner and staff have always greated me with a smile.

Love the waffles and skillets! Good pricing and they usually have good coupons going on. Highly recommend

Stopped for breakfast. Country fried steak, omelet & French toast. Eggs were flat & tough. No loft. Portions of hash browns get smaller every visit. Other tables got bread basket. Us, not so much. Kept coffee cups full. Staff member dumped package of napkins all over floor, and just picked them up and placed them on they ready to distribute pile.
