Surprising hot spot for a good, solid breakfast. This is not the truck stop dump that I remember from my childhood. Nice service, pleasant atmosphere, and overall positive morning experience....even compared with the yuppier popular, and overrated Southern Belle, I'll take my breakfast at Silver Dollar any day of the week!

Have been her 4 times. Breakfast twice, lunch once, dinner once. Kept hoping I was just hitting it at an off day, and wanted to give it a fair shot. I REALLY wanted to like it. The menu is huge....big variety to choose from (some crazy, silly even, concoctions here....) Perhaps that is the problem.. Nothing is good, everything we had was mediocre. And that is being generous. I find the food to be a slight level above slop. I think if they focused more on doing a few things really well, and less on how many items they can get on their menu, they might be more successful.

Great breakfast! Outstanding service. The pancakes are very good here. Lynn was my waitress and she is so sweet and great at her job. I am visiting my sister and I went on Yelp to find a place to eat and saw this place was .2 miles from me. There were other places with better reviews but this place was close so I decided to come here. I'm glad I did. The host was very friendly and when I went to pay my bill I had a really nice conversation with him as well. Nice folks, great food!

A really mediocre, run of the mill, bland experience. Been twice and that was plenty. Had breakfast once and a hamburger another. McDonald's would have been so much better! Decor runs somewhere between nursing home to bad 80's. Too many other good places to go that are in this century!

We ordered breakfast food late in the evening, so I didn't really have high hopes, but the breakfast wrap was delicious.

Went here for dinner. Soup was fabulous-creamy blt. They bring fresh warm bread sticks to your table with your soup then your main course. It's more than enough food. The food was pretty good, service was excellent. I remarked it had been a long time since I had service that good. They have a lot of options for food choices. The inside needs some sprucing up and this is your average restaurant. I will definitely be back.

Came here the morning after Christmas. I had spent the night over at my brothers because the snow really came down on Christmas and we just didn't feel like driving all the way back to our little piece of the world. I'm glad I stayed, not just because we had more time together but because I got to eat breakfast here. I had asked him before he went to bed if there were any good places in town for breakfast. He had mentioned this place. He said every time our brother visits from Missouri they always go here. We ordered skillets, and a Belgian waffle to share. I had a Denver skillet with ham, eggs, hash browns, onions, green peppers and american cheese. My other half had the mexican skillet that had chorizo, eggs, peppers, cheese, hash browns and I'm not exactly sure what else. We both really liked the skillets. They were pretty good. The waffle was delicious. Made just how I like them. Crispy outside and soft and fluffy inside. We both got pancakes with the skillets but I couldn't eat mine. It was too much food. I did taste my boyfriends though, and they were freakin amazing. They tasted like donuts. No lie. So good. The waitress was super attentive and was prompt with drink refills. She was very nice. Overall we had a really good experience. If we find ourselves in the area at breakfast time again, we will be back. Or we may just stop in for breakfast at dinner time when we are in town next weekend. I think our ticket was just under $30 before tip. For 3 meals, you can't beat that price.

This looks like a little hick restaurant. So I was kinda leery going inside. I was expecting a whole room full of John Deere and NASCAR memorabilia. But the little restaurant totally blew away my expectations. The service was top notch and our waitress made sure we were set without the pushy "are you okay?" every five minutes. I went in ordering a beef burrito and it was good for a diner burrito. The meat, cheese and spices made for a really delicious meal. And their portions are huge. The burrito lasted for lunch and dinner. The prices are pretty decent as well. Between my mom and I, we spent only $16 for two lunches plus drinks. That cannot be beat. So next time you see a little restaurant, stop in. You might find a gem like Silver Dollars. For breakfast, their food is excellent as well. Ask for a breakfast menu and you'll be in morning food nirvana.

So I haven't seen the crazy waitress since my first visit and have been back several times since then. Nothing but great experiences since then. Great service and even better food. Pancakes themselves are worth the trip!

We've been frequenting Silver Dollars for 5 years now. (always at breakfast) Its never failed us. Service is great, and anything on the menu is always good. Their pancakes are particularly awesome - I suggest you try them if youve never been there.

A fooler. The outside doesn't look all the special. But the menu has a lot of creative items. We had a pancakes, crepes and french toast variations and all were pretty darn good.

Get the pancakes but be warned they are like crack. Can't stop at just one. Great food great prices great service. Love this place

The service is just not consistent so I will stop going. The waitress charged us the same price for the salad bar only as a complete meal. When i complained that this must be a misstate the manager said that is the price. Fine, but I won't come back. If I can get a meal and the salad bar for the same price as the salad bar alone I should be told that when ordering. Obviously they don't need my business.

This restaurant has good prices, food is good and the service is alright. I think I have to give this restaurant another shot. I went in with my husband for a late sunday breakfast. When we walked in WE said hello to the lady behind the counter but she just ignored us and started to count checks. We waited at the door for a couple mins not being acknowledged till someone did and sat us. Our waitress was very nice. My husband ordered his food and I ordered the oatmeal combo. THe waitress came back a min later to tell me they were out of oatmeal. Understandable considering it was closer to lunch time so I switched my order to the Nutella Crepes. When my creps were brought they were covered in chocolate syrup. I like Nutella but not chocolate syrup so I hoped it was just on top but it was all inside the creps. I asked the waitress if it was chocolate syrup in the creps and she said yes. That they were out of Nutella and they know Nutella taste like chocolate so they used chocolate syrup instead.........Seriously. They told me there was no oatmeal why couldn't they tell me there was no nutella? I would have picked something else. I understand that things run out but don't substitute without telling the customer. I sent it back and just drank coffee while my husband finished his food. He had to be at work so there wasn't time for me to order something else. The food on the menu looks good and I would like to try it again but hopefully if they are out of something they would tell me.

A friendly, casual family restaurant with an extensive breakfast menu. We had "Kendall County" pancakes and french toast that were topped with bananas, apples & pecans sautéed in cinnamon butter. Very tasty and the apples were fresh, not canned.

Best breakfast food in Kendall County. I swear it upon my life. Since the best server ever left, Ashley, the service is hit or miss (Lynn is awesome too!) But, the food is great. Best breakfast around. If breakfast isn't your thing, lunch and dinner is great here, too. Always good soups, and the specials are always great.

It's just an ok kind of place. They obviously don't have a cook with any kind of skill level. I had the lasagne that was Stouffers. My dining companion had the country fried steak that was a frozen prebreaded soy pattie with powdered mashed potatoes.

Stopped here after Church on Sunday morning. Busy, but we were seated right away. Tons of breakfast options. Waitress very friendly. Food was excellent for breakfast. Heat didn't work, but that's probably a 1 time thing.

After driving by this place many times on my way out to the country I have always wanted to stop in and give it a shot. I didn't have high expectations with it being a little dive on a small corner in York Ville. Before walking in I carefully checked all the pickups to make sure there were no empty shot gun shelfs. Seeing none we figured it was safe to enter. The layout here is typical dinner. I was told by my friend they used to have a breakfest bar but it was replaced with a wall. Would have been cool if they kept the counter because you don't see places with those anymore. Our waitress was very friendly and the service was on par with other dinner. For breakfest I had the Chocolate chip pancakes. They were very good and the portion sizes here are quite big. I left completly stuffed. I am also happy to say I didn't leave with a new set of overalls either. Looking forward to eating here again.

Been here a few times as we live down the road. It's ok. The staff is not very friendly. One night we came in after an elementary school function around 8:10 it was empty and the waitress looked like they were closing up so i asked her what time they close, 9:00 she seemed annoyed. I told her a lot of people were probably coming in because the school function just let out. We only wanted ice cream and pie. We heard the waitress trying to talk a family out of ordering a burger because the grill was shut down they ordered it anyway. She forgot my pie so i had to flag her down. My mistake, the pie was old. It was chocolate cream, it was really more like chocolate pudding, but the cream topping had gone sour, still i had a few bites, i seriously had stomach cramps for a week and a half. We still joke about the 25 year old pie slice. I've had ice cold bisquits and gravy and raw chicken here as well. If you live in yorkville you don't have a lot of dining options. If you go here stick to the very basics, burgers, classic sandwiches, and breakfast is the best meal to stick with, the cold biscuits and gravy was my only negative breakfast experience here. My kids prefer silver dollars over southern belles.

We stopped in for breakfast and left FULL. Food was great. Many choices on the menu. Service was very friendly.
