We tried Swiss Maid on a Saturday morning while walking around the farmer's market right outside their door. My daughter was VERY excited when she saw the Hello Kitty cookies in he display and I'm assuming she liked it cause it was gone within minutes of the purchase, haha. The hubs had a bavarian cream filled donut and I had the muffin. They were all tasty. I thought the prices were a tad high but not too bad. We will definitely be back to try some again.

This place is pretty sweet, there has to be something for everyone... I love their donuts and cupcakes... I love the Mexican bakery next door, lol, get the best of both worlds

Best place ever! Me and my son have to go here every Saturday morning for doughnuts! They have everything that you could want in a bakery and their pies around the holidays are just like my grandmas!

This is a fairly good local old-school small-town Scandinavian or Germanic-style American bakery which really fits the mould I expect from that - good but not great with some things that are definitely worth getting and others that are mediocre or simply not good. It reminds me a lot in terms of the product range and character, as well as in the place itself, of the old Polly Anna Bakery we used to have in downtown Petaluma. Doughnuts were decent but too bready and bland and boring. Molasses cookies were enjoyable enough but a bit characterless in taste and texture. That pretty much sums it up for the other things we got, too, although one daughter loved the lemon bar she had. Danishes seemed pretty good.

My mom was in town from Germany so we stopped by in hopes of finding good bread. We selected the six grain loaf. This bread by taste was at least three days old. It was dry and stale. If you've never been to Germany or Switzerland please don't think this is what the bread tastes like. This was a complete waste of $3.20 and an insult to the Germanic culture.

Very good butter cookies ! Also took home a chocolate whipped cream cake. We'll see how good that is, it's for Christmas Eve. It looks great ! The young ladies that work in the bakery are very helpful and nice.

What a great place to have on the Square! Desperate for a sweet treat after lunch this past Saturday, my friend and I made our way to Swiss Maid Bakery. I was overwhelmed especially by the assortment of decorated sugar cookies, and was delighted by the additional selection of cupcakes, donuts and other pastries. My friend ate what the woman behind the counter called a "cherry square" and I had to steal a bite! I'm glad I did because it was full of sweet and tart cherry goodness. Well worth the couple of bucks. I picked up three cookies for myself, and I have to say their cookies are buttery delicious. The tab for a cherry square and three sizable decorated cookies was under $4. Not much beats grabbing a sweet treat for your stroll around the Woodstock Square.

Best donuts ever!!! Their chocolate is so good here. Every time I am back home-my first breakfast stop is here. They also have great hotdogs for lunch. I moved to Arizona and for 6 years I have been looking for a comparable donut. Still looking.

Ummmm ... cheese danish. I order these everywhere. Or buy them at grocery stores. And they're always good. It's a cheese danish. But then I got my very first one at Swiss Maid -- where I've always bought my smiley face cookies -- and it was the best cheese danish I've ever had. Get one. Get two. They are...incredible. I will ALWAYS go back now to get one. Mmmmm mmmm mmmm.

While out there visiting a friend, she recommended going to this place as it was her childhood favorite. So, I decided to give it a try. I ordered two donuts (cake donut with chocolate icing, and a fluffy (light) chocolate cake dount with chocolate icing). Tasty!!! My partner ordered two sugar cookies (one in the shape of a rabbit (pink frosting) on it and the other in the shape of a shamrock (green frosting). Then, as we were walking out, we ordered a purple bunny rabbit (yellow cake, in the shape of a ball covered in coconut and colored purple). Since I was not a coconut fan, didn't touch it at all. My partner said it was ok.

I don't visit SMB often, because I would eat everything if I could. Forget DD, Starbucks or wherever else you get your pasties; Swiss Maid does it better. My favorite is their white chocolate muffins *drools* My mom had them make a black forest cake (my favorite kind) for our wedding reception and it was delicious.
