Excellent service!!! Good food and atmosphere! Was here yesterday about 6pm for dinner with my two kids and brother. Right away the girl who was taking orders gave me something for the kids to play with. While I was giving my order someone else asked me if I needed a high chair, yes I did. When our order was placed they took us to the table they had put the high chair next to and we sat down. A minute later the milkshakes arrived for the kids and a few minutes after that our food. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and my brother a burger. We shared large fries, which was more than plenty for us all. My chicken sandwich was very delicious and my brother said that his burger was good too. He was very impressed with the soda machines, there are many different sodas to chose from. There are napkins on the table, which my brother was extra impressed with :) Overall the service was great. I will definitely come back!!! I live in Schaumburg so I'm going to have to try the one here to see how it compares. Thank you for the great experience Meatheads!

My dad and went here a few days ago. It was my last stop in the trio of "gourmet burger" joints. The first two being 5 Guys and Smashburger. I really liked the burger. I thought it was excellent as did my dad. The fries were okay (we both got Cajun) but I'm not a big fan of fresh cut fries anyway since I prefer them crispier. Also the fry portions were huge. We could have easily shared the small and still had fries left over. Comparing all three places: I liked the burger at 5 Guys best, with Meatheads at a close second. I liked the fries at 5 Guys best, with Smashburger at a farther second. I found the decor at Meatheads and Smashburger to be similar and better than 5 Guys. More of what you would expect from a place that sells "gourmet" burgers. I found the service to be great at all, though they do not bring your food to you at 5 Guys as they do at the other two. This is lacking based price. Prices of burgers are comparable at all three, but you do have a few less options at 5 Guys. So I like 5 Guys best for the food, but I think Meatheads gives you the best bang for your buck!

I'm over the place. The last two times I ate here, I was sick as could be - and I ate the same thing each time - the same as my first try that I loved. They no longer have the Lorina sodas and when I went this past weekend, I wasn't even going to give the food a chance to make me sick, so I just got a milkshake and watched the husband eat. The mocha shake was nasty - I am not sure how they make it, but it is really nasty tasting. Since I had nothing to do but sit there, I also looked around at who was eating here. It being about 11 on a Sunday, there were a ton of tiny toddlers. Really? In a place whose kids meals offer NO HEALTHY OPTIONS, that is just wrong. At least at some places you can put some fruit in there, but here, your kid options are burger, hot dog or grlled cheese - all of which come with fries? Welcome to hypertension and diabetes, kids. So wrong.

I really like their New England hot dog. It comes on a toasted bun and they put mayo on it. It's realy good. Their hamburgers are also very good and they have a large selection. I like the Hawaiian burger. The burger is better than most places and you can throw pineapple, BBQ sauce, jalapenos, etc on top. Expensive for a burger place, but really good. I also really like how the inside is set up and the booths. It's nothing overly special, I just like it.

This was my first time here and it started off a little weird because the lady that took my order added a drink when I just got water... So that jacked my bill up like $2. I was wondering why it was so high so I asked the manager who was working the counter and cancelled my previous order and put in a new one without any questions. =) That was great service! Now the speed of the food coming out was pretty fast. Picture a faster and cleaner Five Guys! They had people coming by to clean up plates and very friendly staff. I will be coming here often!

This is one of the better burgers I've had in quite some time. I take it with cheddar and all of the All-American fixings. Delish! Their seasoned fries are great, too! Next time maybe I'll get a milkshake.

Very similiar to 5 Guys without the peanuts and much cleaner. I, however, like Meatheads much better. Great Cajun fries that are not too spicey and burgers with many different options. For those non-burger fans they also have: chicken sandwich, grill cheese and foot long hot dogs. Management is super friendly, very hands-on, helpful, and cheerful. They have a great staff. If 5 Guys were next door to Meatheads--I'd always choose Meatheads. I was ordering the children size hamburger which is just one thin patty--I think you have to get the double (Meathead) size hamburget to really get the burger flavor--it is too dry in the single size. I like that I can put so many different things on my burger including my favorite, avocado. TIP: order of fries is pretty large--you could easily order one for 2 or maybe even 3 people. I do have to really give a bigger shout-out to their staff, they are all exceptional and friendly. Management does a great job of training.

Fabulous! Top notch fast casual burger place that out does Smashburger and Five Guys (and those two are good). The quality, price, flavor, and service all come together to make this a go-to place. Go out of your way to try this and enjoy it!

Had a burger and shake. It's ok. Decent atmosphere - feels like a chain buildout. Burger is ok. Nothing special. Decent choice if there is nothing else around.

When my wife and first walked in, we weren't sure if we should order at the cashier or if it was waiter service. They only serve burgers and chicken, fries, shakes, and soda. You get your number and they bring the food to your table. The food itself was okay. It was properly cook and I love fresh cut fries. I like the option for fried on the burger. It was slightly on the pricey side. For two people, it cost $23.00. We could have went to Portillo's and spent less and got better quality food. I would give this place a shot but it isn't a place when I come down to Chicago to say "Hey I have to go there before I go back home because you can't get it back in Milwaukee" because you can and at a better price and quality.

Yum! This is as good as it gets for fast food burgers in the Midwest! First of all, the staff is incredibly friendly. The staff that takes your order is more than willing to explain the menu to you, and doesn't mind if you take your time deciding. The first time I went, one of the managers even threw all of my wrappers/garbage/cups away for me. So nice! I have been here twice, and had the same thing both times - a burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, and avocado. I highly recommend getting the cajun fries - such a nice change from regular fries, a little spicy, and overall simply delicious! The burger was excellent. I love that it was served on a roll that was a little sweet, like a hawaiian roll. The meat is seasoned nicely, and kinda melts like butter in your mouth when you take a bite. They don't skimp on the toppings, which is great because they're a little pricey - for two burgers, fries, and two drinks, it was almost $20. Which is fine, because we loved our food and they give you a good amount. But kind of pricey for "fast food". Both experiences here were great, and I will continue to come back here. I crave it often, and this is the first place I think of when I want a good, quick burger. I'm a Meathead!

If I am going to put a highly caloric, highly fatty meal in me, it had better taste great. Meatheads just does not cut it. The burger (I went with the original "Meathead" with the works) was not at all memorable. And the taste was just so so. Frankly, I think that Wendy's burgers are better. Ann, without a doubt, Five Guys blows away Meatheads. There fries were unimpressive as well. Meatheads touts it's "hand-dipped" (whatever that means) milk shakes. Another yawn. If you want a great shake, go to Oberweis. All in, I do not see a reason to ever return. There are a lot more tasty ways to put bad nutrition in your body.

Went for lunch with my son. We both were in the burger mood, and this place delivers a decent burger. They have chosen to go with the smaller patties (1/6 lb) that can be ordered 1,2 or 3 to a burger. There are plenty of toppings and sauces and some imaginative custom burgers. I had the NY Ruben burger, a double patty with swiss chese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing, on grilled marble rye. It was more like a patty melt - can't really have a RUBEN without corned beef ... of course, that would be a REUBEN. My son had the hawaiian burger - double patty, cheese, pineapple ring, bacon, jalapenos and BBQ sauce. Now that's an interesting burger. Pretty tasty too. The patties are thin but juicy and meaty tasting. If you like a thick patty, this is not your burger joint. The fries are offered plain or cajun spiced. They're both good. Thin, natural cut, with skin on. Nice clean potato flavor. Nice touch on every table are grinders with sea salt and pepper. I looked up the nutritional information: The Ruben burger packs in 760 calories and the regular order of fries 780 calories, making the lunch about 1500 calories. Wow - but what did I expect? It's not health food. Interestingly, the burger that has the highest amount of calories is the California burger. which packs in 840 calories. Maybe they should change that name? Don't even think about the chili cheese fries. These have an astounding 1760 calories, nearly an entire day's allotment! Two burgers, two regular fries, two drinks, $20. Kinda pricey. Nevertheless, it was a decadent moment. Now I'm off to the gym.

So a coworker and I decided to step out of the office for lunch today to try something new. We both decided to check out Meatheads as it was close and from what I've heard, is pretty legit. I ordered the Californian as I was craving some avocado with some fries and a coke. The food came out quick and looked dank. The burger itself was awesome, the beef was fresh, the toppings were fresh, cheese melted perfectly, I was in heaven. I'll definitely be back here again. Big up Meatheads!

Awesome! They have delicious burgers, fries, and shakes! Better than Five Guys!

I'm new to the area, just happened to be driving by and saw a sign. The sign said Best Burger in Willowbrook. My car turned around all by itself. The menu wasn't a challenge, I just walked up and said I wanted a burger with real cheese, bacon and tons of mayo; fries and a chocolate milkshake (hand dipped? Really?). Burger was fine, fries were just ok, the milkshake was like any other. The only stand out was the high price. Too costly for what I got. I'm going to try Five Guys next. Helpful hint: Go with some friends, eat some burgers and have a good time. Don't go to enjoy the best burger in Willowbrook.

  • Bella J.

Meatheads food is just average... Considering this place is just a minute away from Portillo's hotdogs, I'd rather choose Portillo's. I've ordered food for the whole family from this place and it took the host a while to explain how the menu works... Why so complicated? And when I asked what the difference is between the meathead and some other burger on the menu she answered something like this: "when you choose a meathead, I press this button on my computer, and when you choose the Hawaiian Burger, I get to press a different button. That's the difference"... Alright. This place is a bit pricey too, i payed over 40 bucks for 4 burgers and a hot dog with fries.

  • Charles J.

Went to this place after passing it daily on my way commute from work, met with a buddy there who like me thinks Five Guys is a great place, so thinking this would be a similiar experience. Actually with Meatheads' fast casual atmosphere and more upscale interior it gives the appearence of a better place. But the food doesn't hold up to Five Guys (not even close), the burger was smaller, not as good and more greasy, I could have made a better burger at home. I got the cajun fries, good but salty and they served in a pie pan straight out of Baker's Square or the old Poppin' Fresh (showing my age on that one), and it was lined with butcher paper. On top of all that it was $ 11.00, not worth it.

  • Julie M.

This is a decent burger joint, however I am not sold on the ideas that their price matches the value. The burgers are tasty and the staff bringing your order to the table is quick. It did take a while to order because I came in after a family of five, and there was only one cashier. I just felt that my burger was very greasy, so much so that the bun broke apart during eating! I had the Texas Ranch burger and it might have just had too much stuff on it for the bun to handle.

  • Elizabeth S.

I've been here twice and both times it's been great. They have a great patty melt and I have a hard time deciding between the cajun fries or regular (so whoever I go with has to get opposite of me so we can split!) The staff is very friendly and attentive and everytime one of them walked past our table they asked if we needed anything or was there anything they could do. Great service and great food.

  • Shawday B.

I don't eat cheeseburgers very often- but when I crave one, I want a good one! Three words: Softest Burgers Ever! The meat is super tender, not tough at all unlike a lot of other fast food type burger places. The buns were tender as well (that's what she said). The ingredients were fresh and that is all you can ask for. Not the best burger of my life, but DEF better than McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's etc- and at a comparable price so why go anywhere else?!

  • Jenn C.

OK... they say all the fixings are free except cheese, bacon or other substantial toppings, but free at meatheads means, free mayo, free ketchup, free mustard... umm... that should say enough about that... as for the burgers, unless you order a double patty, I felt like I was eating a patty from mcdonalds. The only food item that I felt was delicious were the french fries... not sure if they were hand made, but the fries were the only thing that made my meal somewhat enjoyable. Over-rated in my opinion and too much money for what they are serving.

I've been to Meatheads in Bloomington more than 20 times. I love the place. It's become my favorite burger and fries joint and I've spent the past three years recommending it to just about everyone I know. I've since moved to the Chicagoland area and was thrilled to hear Meatheads was opening in Willowbrook. My expectations were high when I dropped by the new location for the first time, and those expectations were not met. As mentioned in previous reviews, the layout is senseless. I came on Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy, but the line was still nearly out the door. There might have been six people in line including my friend and I. Speaking of my friend and I, we were kicked out of a booth by a manager (who couldn't be more rude) because it was "reserved for large families." There was no sign on the booth stating this. Keep in mind it wasn't busy, there were about 10 other booths available, and no "large family" is going to fit in a four person booth. That's why they have 6-8 person booths... On a brighter side, the staff didn't follow their manager's lead. They were all very upbeat and friendly. Unfortunately, the staff on the grill overcooked the burger - something that never happened to me at the Bloomington location. The cajun fries, as usual, were fantastic. Meatheads has some of the best fries you'll ever have. Overall though, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. It's a new location, so they're clearly still learning the ropes. Hopefully they'll improve over time and bring this location up to speed with their others (I hear good things about the Naperville one). And, it wouldn't hurt if they fired the manager in the process. That guy turned a Meatheads brand ambassador into a critic.

I'm heading towards Veganism, but alas, I work too close to this place to pass it up sometimes. For the reviews that state that the portions are skimpy...not sure where you eat... but this isn't a cattle call for a slab of beef. How many cows would you suggest killing to fill your belly? Seriously. No wonder America is turning into the fattest country. Go super size elsewhere. Decor: Minimalist and Simple. Who cares. It's a burger place with like one chicken sandwich, one grilled cheese, and a hot dog to mix it up. It may be poorly laid out, but I've never had a problem navigating, and I've eaten here maybe 3-4 times. I get a kid's meal here which features ample fries, their small burger, and a small drink and it's $5 something. And it's plenty of food. And to compare, I've also ordered the smaller meatheads burger with regular fries and portions are similar. My fiance and I have eaten here together before and it's like $16. Not sure what people are ordering that is making it so expensive. I feel prices are very similar to Panera, Steak and Shake and Five Guys. I, for one, prefer small patties. Plus, I like how they offer sauerkraut and fresh jalapenos and such. Think the fries and milk shakes are decent. Overall, have I had better? Yes. Have I had much worse? Of course. It's a decent place for lunch for a good burger.

Edible but thats about it. 5-Guys is much better. Very expensive. I'm not sure who this establishment is trying to cater to since it does nothing very well. I will only go back if they start giving half-off deals.

Got the cajun sunrise burger today. Comes with bacon, fried egg, jalapeno, bleu cheese sauce and pepperjack cheese. The description sounded amazing. but I thought the burger itself was a little bland. The patty was very thin and I found myself dipping it in ketchup for more flavor. However, the fries were quite delicious! homestyle, just the right size and crispiness.

Keeping it simple--Meatheads is good for lunch, but the menu lacks a variety of appetizers, so it is not a great dinner choice. Food is good. Menu limited Service is very friendly Busboys are a bit overzealous Location is very convenient - corner of Plainfield Rd & Kingery (Rte 83)

  • Logan S.

The menu lacks selection. It offers burgers, a hot dog, and a chicken sandwich. The burgers are either a single, double 1/3, or triple 1/2 (if i'm not mistaken Wendys already did this). The condiments offer a nice variety, but hey, i'm not paying $5 for a burger ($8 combo) for the condiments. I went with the regular double burger. My wife got the combo. Luckily the fries are good. Back to the burgers. They are greasy and tasteless. The grilled onions are chopped onions. Never had chopped grilled onions except for the White Palace. We should have went there. Back to the condiments. The tomato and lettuce were fresh. The ketchup and mustard tasted fine. Although all condiments played second fiddle to the grease. I will not even give this place a second chance. If you dare venture, good luck and bring some Tums. My tummy still hurts.

The people reviewing this place with less than 3 stars are the real Meatheads. As far as the restaurant I will quote a famous movie line, "Mmm-mmmm. That is a tasty burger....Well, if you like burgers give 'em a try sometime.....I do love the taste of a good burger. Mm-mm-mm." It is hard to mess up a burger and it would be a shame for this place to mess up their specialty. I avoided this place for a while because of the less than quality reviews. I am glad I finally went in to get my own opinion. Now that I have I know where I can go for a good burger in the area. For faster options it beats Culver's, Wendy's and Portillo's. (And definitely BWW - but their burgers suck!) Go, eat, and give a real review - don't be a meathead, try Meathead's instead.

So I ventured into Meat Heads not knowing what to expect. I ordered a combo meal, but I also had them add sauted mushrooms and a side of cucumber wasabi. Yes, cucumber wasabi. I did have american cheese on my patti. Overall, I thought the burger was very Culverish at least the thickness of the patty. The Cajun fries were decent, I would order them again. I found myself without my wasabi sauce. I had to inquire as to what happened to it, as it was an extra cost. When it arrived, it was surprisingly good. One of the positive things about this place, is the ability to create your own burger, and the speed that it takes to make it. I would come back, if I were in the area.

  • Kate W.

To start, the restaurant is poorly laid out. As another reviewer mentioned, the soda fountain and condiments area is too small to accommodate more than two people and not designed for smooth traffic flow - a problem on a crowded Saturday at lunchtime. Also the counter to order is so close to the front door and moves so quickly (which in itself is great!) that you'd better take a look at the menu before you arrive or you'll be pressed to make a decision before you've even had a chance to read the word "meathead." Another plus is that even though it was packed and they don't have an abundance of tables, they had someone seating you and making sure the tables were turned over immediately after someone left, so we were happily surprised to be seated right after we ordered. A point of clarification from the other reviews - the regular meathead burger does NOT come with cheese. Cheese is extra, which they are happy to accommodate in many varieties for an additional $1. We ordered three meathead combos. They were pretty good about getting our orders correct, I was the only one who found tomato on my burger after having asked for none, but I removed it and lunch proceeded. This is the greasiest burger I've ever had. The order tickets in each of our pie tins (what the burgers are served on) had bled through with grease. Grease puddles on our waxed paper from greasy grease dripping off the burgers as we bit into them. It was absolutely a tasty burger, but my tummy is now reminding me why tasty doesn't always mean okay-for-my-insides. The Cajun fries are blech - too much salty spice concoction, no potato-y fry flavor at all. The regular fries were decent. I haven't been to the infamous Five Guys but I can say that Steak n Shake offers a very similar burger with not nearly as much grease, superior french fries, and a much more reasonable price point; but Meatheads is more convenient to where we live, and it's a good option to have.

Great shakes and the hidden gem was the Chicken sandwich (california style). The hawain burger was good, I would do that again. We almost opted out because looked to much like a five guys... This beats the CRAP out of a five guys. Oh, and the people that work here are GREAT and I appreciate the celebration of the local HS sports. Only negative I have, chairs & benches are just uncomfortable, only reason it isn't a 5 star, and I wasn't in the mood for a burger when we went.

Very similar to Five Guys, with a few twists, I was decently satisfied with Meatheads on my first visit. The setup is counter service: order at the front counter, receive a number, and take a seat. The burgers are thin, double-patty cheeseburgers with a large variety of toppings. There are a handful of "specialty" burgers (Hawaiian, NY Reuben, California, etc.). They have a bunch of sauces available for free with the burger. I ordered a simple cheeseburger with onions and found it flavorful and well-cooked. Don't expect a huge amount of juiciness, since the thin patties are basically griddle-friend. The fries are fresh-cut, thin fries, same thickness as a McDonald's fry, but cut on premises right in front of you. I thought the fries were delicious; crispy, and they give you a healthy (or unhealthy) amount of them. The restaurant has about twenty tables, and was pretty full when I went at 6 on a Thursday. A nice touch: they have a few giant, blown-up black and white photos of some local attractions (I particularly liked their giving a spot to Dell Rhea's Chicken Basket, a local monument), and they also post all the local high school football schedules, which is sort of neat. The few staff I interacted with were very friendly; one front-end manager even offered drinks to those of us waiting for to go orders. (I'm guessing that might be a gesture of goodwill during their opening week.) If I had one complaint, I would say that the front area for ordering and waiting is too small. Whereas Five Guys gives you a long aisle to approach the counter, the Meatheads setup has it right in front of you when you open the door. If there are more than five people in front of you in line, you may be standing on the sidewalk waiting to order. But aside from that, it's a welcome addition to the great food selections Willowbrook has been adding to the Plainfield & Route 83 town center. (Burr Ridge and Bolingbrook, you could stand to take some pointers and get some decent restaurants in your new malls...)

I consider myself a burger expert. So here is the rating: a solid " C". Not an "A" for above all the greatest, or even a "B" for better. I grew up with fast food burgers, french fries and milkshakes. My father owned and ran a Tastee Freeze, (on Hollywood and Clark Streets in the Edgewater neighborhood) in the 1950's. The "Meatheads" burger is very similar to that; being a thin, grilled burger. Actually, it is eating a double cheeseburger. It can come with a ton of condiments but the only way I eat a cheeseburger is with ketchup (a little), mustard (a little) and hamburger dill pickles. The rest is all relative and hides the flavor of the burger. The French Fries are just all right. Tasty in a potato kind of way. I like my French Fries crispy, hot and very lightly salted. These fries are not that at all. They tasted heavy and are not crispy. Also, since we have always carried out, the fries were soggy within 3 minutes of leaving the restaurant. We carried out for Fat Tuesday and we won't be eating this burger and fries for a while. Talk about heart attack on a plate! BTW, the shakes are also just so-so. Make better ones at home for a quarter of the price. Favorite burger I still have memories of eating: The Hackney burger (from the original Hackney's on Harms in Glenview) on dark rye, with a side of crispy onion rings. Now that is a real burger.

Burger and Fries restaurnants are popping up left and right in west suburban Chicago, and as a certified beef-a-holic this is a good thing. I was excited when I saw this place pop up as it's close to my office and is in the "lunch plaza" on Route 83. We walked in and there were people backed up to the door, even though there were only maybe 8 or so people in line. I wouldn't want to be here on a frozen January lunch hour on a Saturday! The menu is posted behind the counter, and explains the burger offering, toppings, sauces, etc.. that you can get on your burger. Fries are offered in regular and "Cajun Style," and drinks are Coke products and shakes. They also offer hot dogs and some kind of BLT offering. After you order they give you a number and you sit at your table and bring you your bruger after a short wait. The Coke fountain, utensils, and condiments are crammed into a small area and we were tripping over people to get to the fountain and the catsup. Food came out quickly once we were at our table. Bacon Cheeseburger, Fries, and a medium drink - $11. Down to the burger.. The burger was served on a yellow bun (Potato flour maybe?) and the patties were fairly thin, but large in diameter. My burger was cooked to well done without asking, which is exactly how I like it. Burger had good flavor and an adequate amount of cheese. Onions were fresh, but large and tough. I opted for the regular fries - thin, about like a McDonalds french fry, but had some kind of strange crunch to them that I wasn't a huge fan of - almost like the coating on a Burger King french fry, but more of whatever it is. Lately it's hard not to compare a burger joint to Five Guys, as in my book they are tops for a burger and fries. Meatheads wasn't bad at all, it was just OK - nothing special. There was nothing that made me say "I gotta go back tomorrow!" like the first time I ate at Five Guys. Since Five Guys is only about 5 minutes farther away from my office than Meatheads, when we decide on Burgers and Fries for lunch, Five Guys is getting my business. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try, but don't expect to be "wowed."

Not bad just opened this week, out of the ordinary burger joint. I had the burgerwith pineapple, nice change. Fries ok, would probably go again. Has local high school basketball schedule and scoreboard, nice touch!

Tried the Chicken Meathead (Chicken Breast Sandwich) for lunch today with pepper jack cheese, fresh jalapenos, and avocados (lettuce & tomato included). The seating area was spotless, so we decided to eat in. The cashier taking our order was really patient with and helpful during our ordering process. Our food was delivered to us in a timely fashion (7-8 minutes). Everything on my sandwich was hot and pretty fresh, especially the jalapenos. A good size serving of avocados and a couple slices of cheese topped my Chicken Meathead off nicely. My wife raved about her Texas Ranch Meathead, so I had to give it a try. Pretty good burger, but a little on the greasy side. Also wasn't as big as I would've expected, but pretty good all around. The side of cajun fries were alright. Plenty for two people. The "Meatheads" can get pricey with the "toppings" so keep an eye on what you're ordering. There are better burgers out there, but Meatheads lines up well against the competition.

Not terrible, but not great either. I love a good cheeseburger and would much rather prefer the cheeseburger from Portillo's....located in the same strip. Even the cajun fries could use a little more spice to them. In my opinion the food is rather bland. I have been here three times now, and each time an employee is explaining how the menu works and how to order to a customer in line. When did menu's get so complicated? The prices are too high for burgers in my opinion. A burger with cheese, side of fries, and a soft drink can be over $10.00. The restaurant layout is odd as other reviewers have mentioned. The soft drink station, equiped with extra hot sauces and cajun seasoning, easily forms a long line being packed in a tight corner. The staff have always been great in my experiences. Quick to greet you, find you at your table (since the dining is similar to Buena Beef where you post your order number on the stand at the table) and even clean up after you by taking your garbage.

Good fries, the burger...meh. I ordered the Philly signature burger, small cajun fries, and a drink for $10 total. The fries were good, like Five Guys but thinner cut and stronger cajun seasoning. The burger was fresh but unimpressive. The two patties were each very thin, similar to that in a basic McDonald's hamburger (the smallest one, not the 1/4 pounder). A bit disappointing for a place called Meatheads. I don't recommend the Philly because it features greasy roasted red peppers on top of greasy grilled onions on top of greasy sauteed mushrooms, with the provolone and mayo adding even more greasiness for good measure. I think you get the point. I'd be willing to give Meatheads another go, if for no other reason than to try a burger that tastes of more than just grease, but I have yet to do so given their high cost and anemic burger patties.

I've been here twice - once with my boyfriend and once with a friend. The first time we went, I had a chicken sandwich. I know, a chicken sandwich at a burger place? I just wasn't in the mood for a burger. The piece chicken I had was one of the flatest pieces of chicken I've ever seen. They must really pound down the chicken in the kitchen. It was juicy and it wasn't all that bad but I wasn't overly impressed. My boyfriend did the build your own burger and thought it was okay. He ordered fries and didn't really care for them either. For a place that puts "burgers and fries" right on their sign, you'd think they'd have decent fries. Plus, it was $15 for the two of us - kind of pricey considering we both had water and only one order of fries. The tables are really squished together too. We felt like we were sitting with the people at the table next to us. The second time I actually tried a burger. I had the regular Meatheads burger, which doesn't even come with cheese - that's an extra $1. It wasn't the worst burger I've ever had but they were definitely the thinnest patties I've ever seen. My friend did the build your own and she enjoyed her burger. We skipped out on the fries and went over to Portillo's and picked up cheese fries instead. I'm not sure I'll go back again considering there are better options in the area.

This Big brown man with the awesome tan(yours truly of course)I was out in Willowbrook on an important top secret mission. When suddenly I found myself starved. A burger was in order! But where to go Meatheads or Wendy's!? Meatheads why not give it a try right!? The place is nice and clean and modern. Families eating their burgers and fries....Luckily for me I was not the only brown man in the joint(thanks to ma brown brothas in the back throwing some latino heat on them friers and grills!) so I felt at ease. I ordered a 1/3 lb "meathead" with everything.....cause thats how I roll and a med Coke, NO fries............$8.03 Say wat!?!? Im a poor inner city minority trying to make it in a white mans world I cant be paying $8.00 burgers! Over priced! Burger was good. But not a $8.00 burger....feel me? In hindsight Wendys Burger is similar to this "meathead at maybe 1/4 of the price, shulda gone there Big brown...... Hipster infestation level: 5 Theres teenagers in skinny jeans and emo look all over this place. Future residents of Logan square! yess My property value has a bright future!!

Fast service, the original meathead burger was great, if a bit expensive! Nothing special about the fries. Bacon ranch sauce was tasty.

Got the Philly, regular fry and dare I say it....a banana split shake! Shake was really good with chunks of pineapple in it! I always seem to get the same sort of burger...love mushrooms and onions! But the buns they serve the burgers on are my favorite! Fries were good and the cucumber wasabi sauce had a great flavor. Will have to go back and get a burger with avacado next time!

Went to Staples; skipped Portillo's to try Meatheads: This is a place where you stand in line, order your food, get your drinks, sit down at a table, and wait for someone to bring the food. No problem here, but with only one person working the register, I wonder how efficient this method would be if a large group entered. The menu is simple. We ordered the build-your-own Meathead. The Meathead is 2 1/4# Angus patties. The menu doesn't make this clear. Yet, it matters when you add cheese to your burger. You get 2 slices, not one as you would expect on a single burger. No real big deal since I like cheese. Taste: the food was pretty good. I read some comments that said the food was greasy. Ours was not. The fries we ordered were pretty good too. The most comparable burger place would be Wendy's. I like Wendy's and I think the Meathead burger was slightly better. I prefer Wendy's fries however. The BAD news (cheeseburger & fries; drinks and toppings not included): Wendy's: 1340 Calories / 72g Fat / 2200g Sodium Meathead's: 1540 Calories / 92g Fat / 1750g Sodium Neither one is good: A full day's meal in one burger & sides. WOW! Will I eat here again? Probable. I just wish Portillo's had the guts to post their nutrional info. I would like to know how many calories I consume at the other end of the shopping mall.

We were invited to Meatheads because our niece had a fundraiser coupon, so a portion of the purchase price of our meals were donated to her association. We were greeted by the most friendly staff, and had explanations given to us regarding each selection. Since I am deathly allergic to onions, I asked if their hamburgers contained any. The order taker said no, and even had a special key on the register for "food allergy - onions." I was pleased when he told me that my burger would prepared and cooked in an area that would be especially cleaned and free of any onions or onion remnants. Luckily, we ordered one serving of french fries, and sadly, they came lukewarm to cold. There were plenty of "roving managers" and we were given a replacement order of fries within a minute. The burger reminded me of the flavor and texture of a Steak 'n Shake "Steakburger," delicious in its own way. We had the opportunity to have more french fries, but we said no thank you, as we were stuffed. It was nice to have access to unlimited refills on soda and a wide selection of soft drinks. Although our bill came to $15 and some change for the two of us, I think it was worth it, and will recommend Meatheads to our family and friends. As of this writing, I haven't tried the new 5 Guys that recently opened in Downers Grove at Fairview & Ogden Avenues, but will definitely have to give it a try and see how it measures up to Meatheads.

this place is a total rip-off. My husband, son and I went there for dinner and the bill was over $25.00. I asked for the 1/3 pound burgers and was given and charged for the 1/2 pound, which by the way was an additional $1.00 per burger. Then, when my son was asked if he wanted fries with his burger the order taker didn't ask whether he wanted the regualr or large size order. so, we were charged for the large order!!! For the price you're being charged, fries should be a part of the deal. What a turn off!!!

This is an excellent stop for the BEST in the Southwest Suburban Area Hamburgers, Fries, and Delicious Milk Shakes (Made With REAL Ice Cream, not like many others using sorbet or ice milk). They are friendly courteous and very CUSTOMER ORIENTED !! Their Managers and Owner and Employees all go the extra mile to make sure your visit is a well remembered one. I HIGHLY recommend this place for their foods, and their Customer Care...Rarely found now a days in a Hamburger Shop!! "Stop in, you won't regret it a bit"! Recommended to Combat Veteran Families, they care!!

I've been here twice since they opened and you can count me in as a fan. First time was a patty melt, and the other day it was a Californian. I love avocados, and I love burgers. Thanks to Meatheads I am matched up with both in one! The cajun fries are amazing! I would come here more often but would probably get fired from the food coma when I fall asleep at cubicle at work.

We went to Meatheads for the first and last time yesterday. As Kate mentioned, the layout of the restaurant is poorly laid out, with seating being a problem for a Saturday afternoon visit. I opted for the California burger, which was supposed to have avocado and wasabi sauce , amongst the rest of the condiments, but they put so little of any ingredient on it, I could not taste the avocado at all, and just a wisp of wasabi sauce was detected. And while on the subject of missing ingredients, the burger patty was pretty thin as well. The surprise was because the menu touts a 1/3 lb hamburger for the plain old Meathead burger, but when you order a specialty burger, it appears they took lessons from the folks at White Castle on how to get high yields from hamburger meat. The atmosphere is bland, the seating terrible, food portions skimpy - about the only thing positive about this experience is it was close to home. Sorry Meatheads, you wont see me again.

This review is for a limited menu item, a kids meal. After picking up Chinese food in the area my daughter let me know that she wanted something different. Of course no sweat...I went to Meatheads with the intent to get her a quick burger but switched gears when she ordered a grilled cheese from the menu. An organic chocolate milk to wash it down and all were happy. Her choice of sides were carrot sticks, apple sauce, or fries. You guessed it fries. THe staff was friendly and I plan to try the burgers in the near future.

Meatheads is similar to Five Guys and these other newer type burger chains, where the burgers are fresher and cooked to order. Did I mention pricier as well? The burgers here are juicy and flavorful. They have a large amount of toppings and condiments to choose from. You can get burgers in 1/3lb which is 2 patties or 1/2lb which is 3 patties. The french fries are natural cut and some of the better tasting fries I've had. If you're a burger fan, I don't think you could go wrong here. It won't be the best burger you've ever tasted, but it'll be one of the better ones. This small burger chain is definitely worth a try if you're in the Chicagoland area.

Typical burger place. Good for late night burger. They have chicken options and you can get with lettuce to be healthy even though that sounds nasty. They have no turkey or veggie burgers so boo. Regular fries is a huge portion so split. Food comes out fast and rarely has a line. You order at front and then sit and they bring it to you- yay.

I've been here multiple times and the service is excellent. They make the burgers perfectly delicious. The people that work there always smile and greet you. The mint chip shake is crazy yummy. Extremely attentive and you can tell they care about their brand. Every time I shop at Oakbrook Mall I drive south on route 83 to Meatheads for dinner. I love it.

Awesomely amazing Cajun fries!!! Not only do they taste great, but they are served in huge portions. A small order is big enough for 2 to share. The vanilla shake was tasty just as well. It's served topped with whipped cream & no cherry so if that's not your thing then remember to say no whip. The chicken sandwich is flavorful and the burger is tasty. They have add on options like mushrooms, grilled onions, bacon, avocado, and several dipping sauces as well. There's a kids menu with grilled cheese, burgers, & tenders too.

5 Guys, but even better. Similar burgers and fries as 5 Guys, but it's more family friendly, and has a more attractive decor inside. It also plays much better music inside. I also think the food is slightly better. We actually ate here two days in a row, since we were only in town for the weekend.

Remember when McDonalds came out with the 'Angus 1/3 Pound Deluxe' burgers, and everyone lost their minds, saying "oh man these are so good, who would even want a regular McShittyburger now, blah blah, etc"? This scenario is kinda like that. Gone are the days of grey, non-conforming 'meat' patties that you pay $1 for in a drive-thru. These fellas (along with Five Guys and, to an extent, SmashBurger) have taken over the deluxe fast food market, and Meatheads might be at the top of the heap in terms of overall satisfaction. The burgers themselves (while not cheap) come in a variety of different makes and models. I got one with a fried egg + bacon + blue cheese, and while the idea was good, there were way too many flavors going on at once. The blue cheese sauce (having its own distinct bitterness) masked all the other condiments and quite honestly ruined the rest of the burger =( How unfortunate. HOWEVER, 'the Hawaiian' features jalapenos, pineapple, and BBQ sauce, and might be the best thing on their menu. Hell, it might be the best thing on anyone's menu within a 5 mile radius. Do yourself a flavor and order one! Aside from that, great fries, a solid selection of shakes, free condiments (chipotle ketchup, anyone?) and perhaps the difference-maker between a 4-star and a 5 star-review: a freestyle pop machine! For anyone who's had the pleasure of using one, it's like the Rolls-Royce of soda dispensers. Want cherry-flavored soda brand __x__? You got it. How about diet, caffeine-free, peach-enhanced seltzer water? No problem, mon. Seriously, I can't wait until these DIY pop machines take over the world. When I'm rich(er) someday in the future, ima order myself one for use in the home. For reals. TL;DR--Meatheads is the shiz-nit bombdiggity. I might not even bother with WacArnold's or the BK lounge anymore.

Only been there once and I don't plan on returning. The friend who joined me shared the same sentiments that I will share here. Nothing was exceptionally bad but nothing was great either. The burger was fine but when a restaurant is supposed to be a burger place, then it should be more than fine. The fries were bland. Again, they weren't terrible because it's kind of hard to make awful fries, but they were very forgettable. On top of everything else was the prices for everything. $10+ for a burger, fries, and small drink is a tall order for such a simple meal.

Had the Texas burger, my mouth was barely big enough to take a bite, my only complaint is that I could not get it rare. I had the cajun fries and not only were they delicious, they had a little bit of spice and every single one of them was crunchy. I don't mind paying a little bit extra for quality and for that reason I will definitely go back.

I've eaten here about five times and I have throughly enjoyed it. It gets quite busy with only two registers at lunch time and the wait time for food is what you'd expect when it's after you place your order. The customer service has always been excellent and polite. On my last order for take out, I was put on hold for ten minutes. I hung up frustrated, called back, and told the employee before he out me on hold again, that I'm calling back after being on hold for 10+ minutes. He immediately apologized and took my order, and when I came in they took off the price of one of the sandwiches. I love that and customer service and good food will make me come back. Thank you.

Being from Southern California my fiancé and I were looking for something similar to in-n-out and we have found it. Food: awesome! their fries are delicious and fresh cut just like back home. Customer service: Amazing. I went in one night to get a to-go and was waiting for my food talking on the phone. the manager (a young 20 something year old) was so kind! And motioned towards me asking if I wanted water or anything. Totally unexpected and out of the way! We will be going back!! :)

This is place has the best burgers, made fresh when you order. Don't forget the cajun fries. The proportions are huge for the price you pay. The service is impeccable. Everyone is so polite. If you are ever hungry for a great burger this is the best place to go.

Great burger and fries, not a ton of choices but they have creative toppings and quick service. As other reviews mention, it's only downside is it's pricey for a burger.

I really enjoy coming here. Clean restaurant, the food is good (probably 4 stars really, the burgers are a little salty), but the service always has me coming back. We've mostly come at lunch, and I have yet to experience unfriendly or slow service. We always come with child in tow, and they always make sure we have a table reserved with either a sling for the carseat or a high chair for the child. So considerate! It's hard enough wrangling a little one when you're not looking for seating, so it's nice when that part of your dining experience is covered. I'm also a huge fan of a staff that checks in with you during your meal. For all intents and purposes this is a fast food joint, and yet every time we've been here I've had a manager at my table to see how we're doing. So way to go Meatheads - you're at the top of my list for a fast, friendly, and tasty meal!!

  • Ashley S.

Reminds me of Five Guys, except with way more toppings to choose for your burger. There's an incredible selection of premium sauces as well. In this case, I should've listened to my 2nd thought, but decided to go with one of the burger specials with a pre-selection of ingredients. I went for the cajun sunrise burger ($7) which is a 1/3 lb angus burger topped with bacon, a fried egg, bleu cheese sauce, jalapeños, tomato, and lettuce; with a regular order of Cajun fries ($2). My husband built his own burger. And we ordered to sit down here. The wait was literally just 10 mins (if even that). I was amazed. Unfortunately, I didn't taste much bleu cheese sauce, and if it wasn't for the jalapeños, my burger wouldn't have had any flavor. One advantage they do not have over Five Guys is that Five Guys' Cajun fries are suuuuuuper tasty, perfectly seasoned (not overly salty) and their portions are enough to satisfy two ppl. Anyway, my husband really enjoyed his burger (since he got to control his own flavors). I would be willing to come back to Meatheads, I'd just go for building my own burger. Management was really attentive, and customer service was great! I would have actually given 3 1/2 stars if I could.

Can I say that the food is awesome here??!! The customers are a pain in the ass so I feel kind of sorry for the staff, as there are days when I can tell they had enough & act a little jaded, but I have seen why! Call it what it is, but it seems that people in this particular suburb are needy & annoying. As far as food and service goes though, I'm a happy gal! The manager was gracious to me. I have tried most of their burgers now & I gotta say, I am leaning more towards the Hawaiian! BON APPETITE YA'LL! ; )

I drive by Meatheads every day. The first time I saw it I yelled "Meatheads! I must have that!" When I got off work today, I decided to stop on my way home and grab a burger to go. I decided to build my own. I grabbed a 1/3 lb with pepper jack, roasted red peppers, and sauteed mushrooms on it. I ordered fries cajun style and a mint choco chip milkshake. These awesome people were willing to accommodate my desire for extra whipped cream and half filled the cup with whipped cream! This burger was absolutely fantastic! I love anywhere that lets you eat pepper jack cheese *and* uses roasted red peppers. (Do you hear me Five Guys?) There is something about the crunchy red and the intoxicating Vitamin C I know I am taking in that enhances my overall burger experience. Sadly, I had no idea just how filling that burger would be! I only ate a couple of the fries. What a waste of a couple of dollars! Split the fries when you go with someone and if you are alone, only get the fries if you are looking for a gorge. And the cajun seasoning is ok. It isn't much different from the fresh cut fries at Five Guys but Meatheads offers chili cheese fries. To me, this makes any establishment superior. Pro-Tip: If you are coming for a pick-up, call ahead. They will bring it to you curbside. I waited about 20 minutes on a Friday evening to get my food to go. Goo!

This place blows Five Guys and all those other burger joints out of the water. If you go, do yourself the favor and get the Cajun fries. The burger patty had a little grill char around thr edge of it and was fan-flipping-tastic! My one year old even went crazy on all of it.

Yumfastic food. You can select toppings and chose whether you want a burger or chicken. I always get crumbled blue cheese with shrooms. I wish they had the option of choosing what kind of bread for your burger though cuz im not a fan of white bread. Yummy and firey cajun fries are awesome. A little on the pricey side, but almost worth it. Its one of those places that leave you craving more. When i get to go, they always ask if i would like some water during my wait, etc. very friendly staff. Yummity!!

So I am looking for a burger and fries before Lent kicks in. I go to the gym as a preventative measure (if you know what I mean) early a.m. I pick up my son and we head off for some fast food. I was craving a new burger joynt and stumbled across the review of Meatheads by one of Yelp's sweetest and cutest Yelpers! As a Meatheads virgin, I liked the pretty simple menu choices and the staff was really helpful. Really nice girl at the front and I go for the Meathead burger with cheddar and BACON. I go for the Cajun fries to try 'em and my son goes for the original so we can share and compare/contrast. Really good burger, liked it a lot. Good bun and beef, good additions. Like both styles of fries. My only comment is that the Cajun fries were more salty than Cajun. They could had more Cajun favor without the salt overwhelming. Still really great. Everything was very tasty and flavorful. This is the kinda joynt you order your meal, sit down and someone brings your food once. They move fast. My only weirdness was there was a staff guy hanging about and he ran by every once in a while and said "can I take your used napkin for you?" right in the middle of lunch, I guess it was OK, just a little much to have more than one stop over. You refill your own pops etc... This is an above average atmosphere for a fast food burger place. They have butcher block (?) or like bowling lane tables. Serve burgers and your fries in a pie tin. Nice touches. They have sports results from the local high school teams posted. It was pretty quiet given it was noonish when we arrived. Really liked it, why no 5 stars you ask? It is pricey for what you get. The burgers were really good, the fries really good, and the soda had fizz and was cold! We had two cheeseburgers (with added fixings), two fries, and two sodas for almost $21. The value is a little lacking here, I am a fan of paying for what you get but it seems a little high. But it was good and I will be back!!! Looking forward to it!!!! I am Meathead and proud of it!

First time meathead and liked it. Burger was good; juicy but a little greasy. Fries were good and they give you quite a lot for a regular size. Location was clean. Plus they have the Coke Freestyle machine so you can have your carbonation fix almost anyway you want it.

Ate in this time. Experience was much improved. Had the California burger - I'll eat pretty much anything with an avocado. Food was fresh and hot, delivered to our table. Shared some Cajun fries. Fries were okay - very fresh. The soda fountain has a ton of varieties, so props for that. And it was really clean in there, which is always a good thing.

That Patty Melt keeps calling me back! I grab two a visit, one for that night and one for the next day. Yikes! I'm gonna get fatter. I don't bother with fries but I do get a drink when I'm in since they now have those fancy state of the art Coke machines. All my food here has been taken "to-go", but I will have to make a point of bringing the family here for dinner one night.

I've been meaning to try "Meatheads" for the longest time now, but seem to only remember that when sitting in another nearby restaurant and noticing the sign from their windows. Funny, it's right off the main drag (Rt 83) but faces away from the street so all you really see is the lettering on the back of the building. Bad planning by the property owners, but I'm hoping this info will help you find the place if you're in the area. Anyway, I finally made my way in here for lunch with a buddy recently and was greeted at the door by the man taking orders. Lots to choose from so take your time when perusing the menu board behind the register. Ask for help if you need it since there are many ways to order a regular burger (or the like)...after all, that's what they're there for. After a few minutes, we placed our order, were given a number and made our way to a booth. Not long after, our meals came. I had the 1/3 lb burger w/pepper jack cheese and my friend had the chicken sandwich, both with fries. Mine was sloppy but delicious and my friend said he liked his (but didn't really rave about it). The fries were overwhelming and good, but the person who took our plates as we finished suggested that next time, order a children's portion. It's cheaper and a bit smaller, but still enough to make a meal. He wasn't being sarcastic, he was actually very helpful. I'm glad I finally made it here and will definitely return again soon. It's not cheap, but it's not expensive, either, and the food is certainly worth coming back for. I hope you'll think so as well.

Great food, no BS. I originally went here because I felt obligated by the name of the place. I am so glad I did. You walk in the door and you are greeted by a menu of meat, glorious meat. Kind of throws you off guard, since you feel panicked when there's a line of people behind you. Cool concept though, since there's no real need to clutter up the kitchen with a register. Unfortunately, they know that the things I love cost extra: double meat, cheese, bacon, and an egg. Came out to be a pretty pricey burger, but the quad stack of patties was fantastic.
