Decent Japanese food for the suburbs. The chef seems authentically trained and the quality of the sushi and rolls (per my sushi loving husband) is pretty good. We've been here a number of times and the quality seemed consistent.

I always enjoyed going to Sushi House when I lived in Chicago. I made sure I stopped in when I was in town last week. I started with green tea to warm me up (damn it was COLD in Chicago) and the edamame. I'm obsessed with spicy tuna rolls but I decided to get crazy and have the spicy tuna "cone." Ok, it's pretty much the same thing but it has more tuna than rice and looks like an ice cream cone. Tasty morsels! The service was awesome. Super friendly and attentive.

I've had some mad sushi cravings lately, so (again after yoga) I called in an order to Sushi House. I ordered nigiri: 2 Tuna ($6) , 1 Ikura ($4), and 1 Benitoro ($3.55). I also ordered the Red Crunchy Roll ($15.50 - shrimp tempura, avocado, and masago, sliced tuna on top). They quoted me 10 minutes for pick-up. I got there a little after the quoted time, and my food wasn't ready yet. Since there is no seating in the front, they offered me a table to sit at. (There I am in tight, sweaty yoga attire and messy hair, right by the cash register with 3 servers who are just kind of standing around. Awkwardddd!) The space IS cute, though. It has a pretty decent Date Night vibe. There were two sushi chefs - one older Asian man, and the other a 20-something Caucasian guy. The latter was VERY chatty and was telling stories in a really animated way as they made sushi. I found it a bit humorous since the older man didn't seem the least bit interested. Still, entertaining. I waited for about 10 minutes inside. The containers they pack in are very large, so if you don't have a large order and get take-out, expect your food to slide around. My roll and nigiri ended up all pushed together, and the Ikura had toppled over on the commute (fish eggs everywhere - nooooooo!). I was really pleased that they packed the Benitoro separately in its own container, but dismayed that there was some sort of sauce poured on it, saturating the fish and rice. It was still good, but *I* like to control my saucy portions. The Tuna and Ikura Nigiri was really tasty. The fish-to-rice ratio was very good - LOTS of fish! I was super excited about the Benitoro, and it was also good. The rice was just OK - not the best sushi rice. The Red Crunchy Roll was also just OK. In all it was a better experience this time around, but the cost vs. taste... yeahhh, not really feelin' it. Sorry Sushi House.

Honestly I don't remember anything about this place other than we had sake flight that was pretty tasty!

This is one of our go to date night spots. We are always happy with the food and love the atmosphere. The staff is beyond helpful with pairing sake to each roll/dish, and at this point they know us by name! When we finally brought in our kids, they were so accommodating and we have gotten a 'private booth' each time which is great for the kids. Their regular meals (panko fried chicken and steak) are awesome for the kiddos but a little pricy.

This is for both Wheaton and Naperville and any other locations they own in the Chicagoland area I have been to the ones in Naperville, LaGrange and Wheaton.... I am not a cheap person and willing to pay for good food...but when it tastes good but the size is so small and then on top of it so overpriced....I start to scratch my head. It is the smallest sushi rolls I have ever seen that are fresh but nothing fabu...but the udon soup is excellent. The service is excellent but I'm not just paying paying for the great service I am paying for great food, service as well that is proportional to the price... If you are desperate I guess I would go here but I have some other favourites in the city and the suburbs that would fare better than the overpriced sushi house

Tasty and fresh sushi at a reasonable price. The restaraunt decor is simple and not too flashy, much like the sushi menu. Every time we order here the food is great. The only star I take away is for variety. I would like to see more rolls on the menu.

Great sushi, fast friendly service! They will make special rolls for you based on what you like, although the rolls they have on the menu are all awesome anyway. If you are looking for a good sushi place, give them a shot.

The sushi was okay but it took an hour from the time we placed our order for our sushi rolls to arrive. There was no apology or explanation as to why it took so long. There were only 2 sushi chefs on duty for the whole restaurant.

I like sushi a lot, and if ya want some good sushi for a good price go to this place. The decore is quaint, and you can sit in your own little booth that makes ya feel like your in Japan. I love the crunchy roll! This is the reason I go here. The other sushi is great but this is the bomb. They always have a special selection, like blue tuna. This stuff was realy good. Melted in my mouth. The salad is an awsome start and the Ice cream balls are a plesent finish to any meal.

For the first time in a long time I don't have much to write (this is a big deal as many who know me I love to talk and express my opinion both verbally and written). Mainly because it's been awhile since I went to Sushi House. What do I remember that I could possibly write about? Good sushi, good service. Need more information - I think not!

My husband and I love this place. Yes it's a bit pricey but we view it as a special treat and well worth the price. I recommend the dragon roll and try whatever special they have. I don't think we've tried anything there we didn't like and the service has always been spectacular however we always go during the week or early on a weekend.

I wish this place was getting better reviews! Been there a few times with the boyfriend. LOVE IT!!! The place is small, but well decorated. Service is prompt and friendly. And the rolls are delicious! I really enjoy the Tiger Roll. Would gladly go back to this place, and think you should too!

great sushi at this place.. 2 words... Volcano Roll.. not sure if it's on the menu but the chefs will know what your talking about. Ask for Tanya if you can as she is very helpful.

What was I ever thinking when I first reviewed this place and gave it four stars? This is the best sushi place in the suburbs, you can bet your booty. The itamaes are sweet and kind; don't forget to ask them what fish is fresh that day. I recommend the Benitoro nigiri and Alaskan roll.

The sushi was luke warm and did not taste fresh. Also their menu was lacking many sushi staples.

Sashimi was pretty decent. Rolls weren't anything exciting. Service was less than admirable. And they were out of small bottles of sake, only had 700ml. Well...maybe you should open one and give us half and someone else half or keep it open for glasses, we don't need $75 of sake in our veins!

The best. They have a monkfish pate to die for on their specials menu and another roll called crunchy with shrimp tempura and sesame seeds and maguro. So yummy. My new favorite is tempura madai and it is sooooooooooo delicious..has seaweed and jalapeño a and my picky 8 year old who hates spicy foods loved it which says a lot. They have a Valentines menu of 65 dollars for two people with drinks and desert and specialty rolls. A must visit if you're in the area. The staff has been there for years and they're service is perfection. I am a loyal customer and have never been disappointed.

Sushi House in Wheaton is the absolute BEST place to get Bento Boxes for *lunch. I love their tempura (lightly battered and fried veggies and shrimp). Whenever I come, I always get the teriyaki chicken bento box for about $10, but there is also steak and fish too for a couple dollars more. You won't find any other sushi house near by that will sell full bento boxes for less than $17 and the same quality (if you do, please tell me!) The rice is perfectly made, the tempura is lighted battered, there are usually 4-6 pieces of sushi, and poultry is good too. I've also had their soba noodles with tempura and that is also a delicious dish. I'll usually come on a Saturday lunch and save the left overs for dinner. This place is never terribly busy, and the servers are very good. They do a great job keeping your tea filled and checking in if you need anything else. Also there are 2 rooms that seat larger parties with pillows, and create the ambiance of a Japanese house. I need to remember to get a picture of my bento box next time I go! *Tip: Weekend lunch prices are same as weekday lunch prices

Did not like that the chefs were not wearing gloves while making my sushi. Miso soup was very salty. Sushi was very generic and cheaply made for their prices no intricate designs like most sushi places have very simple. Sorry not going back~

Best for the price. May not have happy hour prices but the fish is the best in Wheaton. Chicken and steak meals offered along with noodle dishes. Green tea mocchi balls are my favorite

I have eaten here once and ordered to go once. It is good sushi for a decent price. Sometimes though you just cant help but choose sushi rolls you dont like. I unfortunately had that experience here, but overall their basic rolls like Cali and Tuna roll are great. The tuna roll had fresh tuna in it and was not hidden with a bunch of other junk. As for their specialty rolls I feel it could be a hit or miss. Overall I would visit again and keep trying their sushi until I find my go to favorites.

Delish! Had the seaweed salad and assortment of maki and nigri, and they were fresh and delightful. The server was attentive, ensuring the glasses of saki never went empty. The Andes mints at the end of the meal was a nice touch.

I was unimpressed with Sushi House. I was going to see a movie at Studio Movie Grill, but arrived early to get good seats. Since we had time to kill we decided to try out Sushi House. We ordered miso soup and two rolls: Blackhawks and spicy tuna. The rolls were very small for the price you pay. The Blackhawks roll went overboard with the Tobiko. The service was lacking. I should have paid closer attention to the reviews before coming here. I learned my lesson and will not be back.

A friend and I decided to skip the food at the theatre and eat here instead. Boy were we disappointed with the food. We are both foodies and have eaten at many a sushi and japanese food restaurants. My friend got Bento Box B and i got the chicken katsu. She nibbled at a few pieces of chicken and tried the california roll that came in the box and didn't like either as they were flavorless. My chicken was so dry. And the sauce that came with tasted nasty, so I tried the soy sauce andeven that tasted off. Needless to say neither of us atw very much of the food. The chicken katsu at mitsuwa market in arlington hts is made better! We explained this to the waitress and she wasn't exactly sympathetic. So, we paid over $40 for a meal for 2 that we didn't end up eating, and left hungry. Until last night, we had never tried a japanese restau we didn't like, but i guess there is always a first time. Having read articles about how if people of that culture are eating at the restau then it must be good, holds true in the case here as there were no asians eating here. Heck even all the sushi 'chefs' weren't asian!

This is my go-to spot for sushi. The sushi is tasty and fresh. I have had a variety of items here. Their Miso Soup and House salad are great starters. Their Garlic Edamame is fantastic as well. For sushi, I switch around with rolls but am a big fan of the Crunchy Roll and Red Dragon Roll. You can't really go wrong. For cheaper rolls, I go for Spicy Salmon Cucumber and Unagi. The piece of Super White Tuna melts in your mouth. If you go, give yourself some time because the wait for your food can be a little long but that's about the only con I have found about this place.

We recently moved to the Wheaton area & we usually go to Sushi City for the value buffet. We decided to try something new last night & went to Sushi House instead. The service was excellent! The atmosphere was comfortable & nicely decorated! Although the price was a little on the expensive side, it was extremely high quality fish. We loved the tempura sushis the best! I also tried the miso soup which was delicious. Overall I believe we would come back again as a special treat! :)

I went with a colleague for lunch. I ordered one of the lunch specials that pairs a teriyaki dish (I chose chicken) with a California roll. Cost = $9.95. The lunch came with Miso soup. The chicken teriyaki was good although the portion was small. I was disappointed in the California roll and found it lacking in flavor. All in all, I left the restaurant still a bit hungry. Service was good and the server gladly refilled my water and soda.

I just moved into the Danada area and this little place caught my eye. I have always been a huge fan of sushi, but had been craving it lately- so I decided to go to lunch with a buddy to check it out. My first impression when I walked in was, "Wow this is a classy place." I've always been a fan of the Japanese zen atmosphere and this restaurant captured it very well. The atmosphere was almost everything I had hoped for in a Japanese restaurant. The staff was very friendly, and genuinely cared about us having a good experience- very sweet ladies. We ordered 6 rolls of sushi, 2 spicy tuna, 2 spicy salmon, 1 Unagi, and 1 Yellow Tail. I have to say the presentation of the food was very cool, they dressed it up nice. The food tasted great, it was quite fresh compared to the average sushi joint. Some of the best sushi I had for the price. I will definitely be making Sushi House one of my go-to restaurants in the Wheaton are.

I was starving and hungry for noodles. I'm not sure how one person can cost $20 just for some noodles and dumplings, but this place found a way. I didn't pay that much in Tokyo.

All around Sushi House is a decent place. There's nothing here that's going to blow your mind, but it's not bad either. I got a spicy tuna and a spicy himachi roll for lunch and neither were actually spicy (wasabi paste FTW!), but both were pretty good. I wish they had a little more *something*, but they weren't too mushy or dry, weren't too gingery, and there wasn't a bunch of added crap either. Once again, I call this the "good in a pinch" type sushi joint. It will satisfy your cravings, but you won't rave about it. Sometimes, that's good enough.

I moved right down the block a few months ago, and I'm totally addicted to this place (because I get 20% through my apt complex). The staff is friendly, and the sushi chefs are very entertaining hosts. The food is definitely above average sushi for the mid-west (can be tough finding good seafood around here). I would recommend the Spicy Aji rolls, and if you're adventurous- try the Sea Urchin and the Eel (unagi)!! Definitely my favorite place for a quite bite in danada!

Although a little far from our place in Naperville, this location was worth the drive. Not only was the sushi at the same quality that we've come to know at the Naperville location, there were other items on the menu that aren't served at other locations. One in particular were the oysters, which were so delicious that we ended up finishing the restaurants supply for that night. Service was good, prices on par for sushi, and atmosphere was clean.

The sushi is decent and not cut too large which I like but I also tried the hot n sour soup.. A favorite of mine. It wasn't right..I couldn't put my finger on why. There were definitely things in it that I don't normally find in my hot n sour like carrots and peas and green beans..it lacks the sourness. But I had the Philly roll and loved it and will be back for sushi.

I feel bad that I haven't updated my review since waitress Liz (who promptly disappeared from the server lineup) set me off on a 1 star rant. So here we go. Sushi House is our go-to for sushi in the suburbs. Jem is wonderful, along with the rest of the staff. We probably eat at SH every other week and we're always greeted by name and treated like royalty. We order basically the same stuff every time: shumai, negi hamachi, maguro negiri, unagi... etc etc. I guess we're just boring and don't need loads of variety, but this menu suits us fine. The restaurant has loads of parking, and the strip mall where it's located is quite lovely after all the recent renovations and landscaping efforts. SH itself is tastefully decorated compared to most strip mall sushi places (e.g., not covered in Christmas lights and Valentine's Day decorations). My sole complaint, and a brief review of fellow yelpers says I'm not alone, is the wait time. It takes FOREVER to get your sushi here. We've learned to order shumai and edamame immediately upon arrival so we have something to snack on for the hour it will take to receive our sushi. We also try to avoid rush times (weekend nights) but the wait still ends up around 45 minutes. Carry out orders are a large part of the problem since the three sushi chefs spend at least half of their time on weekend nights frantically preparing carry out orders along with the dine-in business. So, you've been warned. The service will be slow. But the sushi is good quality and the service is excellent. Drive to Naperville for higher prices and less personalized service, or pop over to SH? SH wins every time.

Took a date to dinner here recently. Paid decent coin for mushy, mediocre sushi. If you are looking for very good sushi and to impress, look elsewhere. Sorry, SH, but you will need to pick up your game.

I've enjoyed trying many sushi restaurants over the last 10 years and I have to say Sushi House is one of the best I've been to. The place is immaculate, small, and charming. The waitresses (especially Tanya) are nice and every attentive. This is one of those places where you run out of your drink and they discreetly refill it without you even noticing. I've tried a large portion of their menu and I've always been pleased with the quality of the food. The sushi is always very fresh. The food is really presented with Japanese aesthetics in mind. I enjoy taking pictures of their dishes as evidenced from some of the pictures I've uploaded. The prices are definitely more expensive for dinner which is why I prefer going their for lunch, but it's all good. I'll pay the extra for the good quality and the good service.

This has been my go-to sushi place for over a decade. The fish is always fresh and expertly prepared. The chefs have been consistent over the years and take pride in their preparation. It is busy enough to turn enough fish to ensure it is always fresh. Weekends can get a little busy so calling ahead is recommended. If you like spicy tuna, I recommend both the hand rolls as well as the haru maki roll.

I'm a Sushi addict, I go cold turkey without it, so I checked this place out. First, the place is small as what I expected but very intimate The bar looks very lively with 3 chefs busy rolling sushi and entertaining. Well, I wasn't so hungry so I ordered a Sashimi plate which what I wanted, fresh slices of fish. The presentation is phenominal, of course... My wife got the Bento box which she shared some for me. The beef teriyaki was superb, very tender and the fatty flavor stood out, rolls of sushi is good too, nice crispy vegetable tempura plus shrimp tempura. The salad I ordered is so fresh too and the ginger dressing is just perfect. Miso soup taste like made from scratch, mild but flavorful. THE FOOD IS GREAT !!! But here's the Dark Side of the Moon... That's why I only gave 2 stars. THE SERVICE IS SUPER SLOWWWWWW,... Check other yelpers review, same problem... VERY SLOWWW, it took almost an hour for our few order to be served. On top of that when we asked for our check, it took another 15 minutes, their reason, the charge machine broke, Whatever.... I wont come back to this branch again ... I would probably go to the one in Naperville just because of the food quality.

The menu isn't like typical sushi menus- you won't find california rolls or philidelphia rolls, but they will make it for you. Sushi House has a good handful of house rolls, and they make all of their own sauces. The best was the Fire Roll. I've been to a lot of Sushi places but I have never had a roll that was spicy like this one. It was delicious! Tender fish on the inside and very lightly battered and crunchy on the outside. We later found that this is their most popular roll, and I can see why. I only give 3 stars overall though because service was really poor. We waited a long time for drink refills and it took at least 15 minutes just to place our order.

this is my favorite restaurant! The Sushi is super fresh and the service rocks! I will admit I am a sushi snob and eat it 2-3 times a week. My whole family loves it as well.

The service at Sushi House is among the best I've received in the suburbs. They truly wait on you, hand-and-foot. The chefs are very friendly and will accommodate some specific requests. The restaurant itself is located inside the Danada Square shopping center so there will never be a problem finding extremely close parking. The interior is sparsely decorated in a somewhat traditional Japanese style. It is always spotless inside. The sushi is one of the best in the immediate suburban area. But their meats are really what puts this restaurant on the board. Their chicken and steak have little to no fat on them. Whereas other tempura chickens use really low-quality poultry, these guys go all out with the quality. As with most Japanese restaurants in Illinois, the restaurant is somewhat expensive but if you join Sushi House's e-mail list, they send out discount coupons every month or so. So unless you decide to make sushi your post-bourgeois, upper-crust daily haunt, the prices shouldn't be too exorbitant. Sushi House is a great place to go once. It's also a great place to frequent with its consistently excellent service and high-quality food.

No Natto (never available as not enough customer demand). Nice waitresses, good, friendly and prompt service (not like in other reviews, but it was quiet when I was there), non-Japanese chef and personnel. At least they had nice and fresh Uni. Typical American style nigiri sushi with too much rice and very little or no wasabi. Did not try the monster rolls, but if you like them, they have them. American taste and popularity of sushi is killing good sushi slowly.

If you want the best and freshest tasting Sushi in the western suburbs. The staff is outstanding, they are very attentive and knowledgeable. Their Tampico Tuna rolls are the best, other must tries are the Red Dragon Roll, Volcano Roll and Spider Roll. Sushi chefs can also make special orders upon request. We drive 30 minutes to dine at Sushi House. Love the Sushi chefs as well as the staff. You will never be disappointed when you dine at Sushi House. Lunch menu is same as dinner just smaller..lunch menu has great pricing.

Okay, last experience there was pure 1 star. Not so good. Overpriced. Felt really rushed for some odd reason. Not satisfied in the least after I left. Every other time has been fine--- still way overpriced, but in Wheaton you can do that with sushi I guess. It's more of a rarity. But yeah, it's always been good enough. In fact I've had a couple of really good experiences here. It's kind of a shame if my last trip here is what it has turned into. My suggestion? Take the car and drive over to Kinta Sushi in Carol Stream. Sushi House will be there. Try something new that is in my opinion more authentic, better, and cheaper. Just sayin. Sushi House is going to be there. They have a captive audience and a nice loyal following it seems. Spread the love.

Aaaaaamazing sushi. Would be 5 stars if the service wasn't so slow sometimes. If you come with a group of 4 or more, sit in one of the cushion seats up by the windows. Love it! Some of my favorite rolls here: shrimp tempura, bbq eel, volcano roll, green river roll, haru maki, and...drum roll please...the ever-pleasing spicy tuna. MMMMMMM. Great place for either a date or with a small group of friends. Wonderful, quiet ambiance.

I am a fan! I love sushi and I can appreciate this place. There service is good and the sushi is fresh and not fishy. It's a bit on the pricey side but if you are in the area it's definitely worth it and it's clean inside.

I'll never return. Had lunch there yesterday, and the service is so slow! I didn't find the interior very appealing, and it was extremely cold. Upon ordering our food, I definitely thought the portions would be larger considering their prices. At other restaurants, I receive 2 pieces of sushi for the price listed, and Sushi House only serves one. The roll I ordered was also bland, as if I had ordered it from a grocery store. I was really hoping to like this place, as it's extremely close to me, but I definitely will not return.

This sushi house makes me very happy. Let me start by saying I am relatively picky about raw fish. Who wouldn't be?! I have been to too many of those little fast food sushi places where every single sushi is one of those delightful nuggets of overly sweet rice with a strip of fake crab shoved inside for good measure. May I add that this fake crab is a) clearly not crab, b) made of whitefish, corn syrup, and red food coloring, and c) vile. So, yeah, looking for something that's not this. The Sushi House in Wheaton is small, so I wouldn't go there on a Saturday or Friday night because it gets crowded and the wait is long. That's the price you pay for good sushi; they make it there for you...it's not riding along on a demented little train, around and around for hours till someone eats it. There are three little private "rooms" with sunken tables and carpeted floor "benches." You politely take off your shoes to go in there. Families with shrieking children are oft best contained in there. Wahoo...sliding closing doors! You can also sit at a table or at the sushi bar. Service is fast (considering there are three sushi chefs and they're making custom sushi for everyone in the restaurant...this isn't fast food). Servers are courteous and friendly. Were you to require my menu suggestions, I would offer the following tidbits of deliciousness: Start with miso soup. It's awesome and very light. Have a seaweed salad next. It contains three types of seaweed, cucumbers and something crunchy I can't identify. It's a plant though. All comes topped in a lemon dressing. Be brave. Eat seaweed. Next, if you want a little of everything, order the Sushi deluxe. It comes with various rolls and regular sushi. I usually get rolls instead. The ones my friends and I love include the Crunchy Roll (shrimp and crunchies), Red Dragon Roll (avocado-wrapped roll with salmon or tuna in the middle), Fire Roll (spicy, no kidding, with yellowtail, scallions, and red spicy sauce, tempurah fried), and Volcano Roll (salmon and mayonnaise, roll baked in oven). For dessert, I highly recommend the mochi ice cream. They are little ice cream balls about the size of a golf ball. The outside is a very tender and delicious pulverized glutinous rice layer. Sounds so icky when I put it that way, but it's not. Flavors include, chocolate, mango, strawberry, coffee, and green tea. I've had all of them, but I usually get one mango and one chocolate. When you leave, you get an Andes Chocolate Mint thing. And if you're really talented, like me, you can make a teeny-tiny paper airplane with the wrapper, and it flies really far. Don't throw it in the restaurant, even if you think you're aiming at your dining companion. Trust me, I know this from experience. Great place!

I'm rather new to sushi, never liked it before but now I am hooked! I met a friend at Sushi House on a Friday night at 6:45 and it was just before a huge rush. The place had a line out the door so it must be good. I have to admit that everything we ordered was delicious and the service was great also. Will be coming back here for sure!

This Sushi House, I am refering to the Sushi House of Wheaton only, should call themselves something else. I have been to the Sushi House in Westmont as well as to the one in LaGrange. Both outstanding and overall just great. However, Wheaton you were very disappointing Friday Night. I regret ordering thinking I would get the same service and quality I have received from the other two Sushi Houses. I understand that they have different owners but my goodness this was a shock. The prices are just as pricey and I usually feel well worth it when it comes to Westmont and LaGrange but the rolls were noticeable smaller here at Wheaton. Don't try this location. Service is slow and the rolls are not the same. Westmont has a great selection of very interesting rolls. They are wonderful this location disappointed. I won't be returning to this location.

I love Sushi House. They have the best sushi around and the sushi chef will makes us the Diet Roll that was on the menu years ago but was taken off. We like it so much and he makes it every time for us. Love the soba and udon noodle soup. Very reasonable prices compared to many other Japanese restaurants in the area. Now they offer brown rice and black rice for sushi and rice sides. Hard to find an Asian place that have these healthy rice alternatives. We go every chance we get.

Very Disappointing. Went here before planning to see a movie next door, left 1:15 to eat. Got there, stood a the door for a few minutes before being noticed, and then we were seated. Sat for about 5 minutes before getting menus from a lady busing tables. About 5 min after that, flagged down one of the waitresses to place our drink order. Placed our order a few minutes later (not much, soup and salad, and 3 rolls for 2 of us). Then, we waited. There were 3 guys making sushi, and it just seemed like they couldn't keep up. With about 10 min (over a half hour after ordering) to go until the movie I mentioned that we had to get to a movie and they said it would be right up, and I asked for the check to get that out of the way. With just a minute or two to go we got the check and told them to pack our food to go when it was done. About 5 min after our movie was supposed to start we got a bag of sushi, put it in the car and went to the movie. After getting home, opened up the bag (I was a little leery about how it would be, but it was sub-freezing in the car). We were missing one of the rolls that we ordered and one of the rolls had 4 pieces (not sure if that's normal, but it didn't seem like much). Very disappointed overall. They seemed like they'd never had a full restaurant (not even completely full); not enough waitresses, hostess couldn't keep up, couldn't make sushi fast enough, etc. The Oak Park location is one of our favorites and we go there a lot, but we won't be going here again.

The BF and I went to this Sushi House location on a Monday evening in October. The verdict? Quite possibly the best sushi I have ever had in the 'burbs. The BF is fairly new to eating sushi and he absolutely loved it. OUTSTANDING!

Ok, so my girl friend and I went here for our anniversary, we have tried other sushi places in the surrounding areas so we thought we would try this for the heck of it. Anyway, the food was ok, we had the Gyoza (pot stickers) the dipping sauce was a pretty standard ponzu sauce, but the Gyoza skins were hard, like they had been in the fryer too long, the prices were a bit high for the amount of food you got, the rolls were below average. The service was however better than some of my fellow yelpers have posted. Our server was young and slightly inexperienced bt she made up for that with her friendly attitude which is sometimes more important than speed or experience. My last thought my gf and I told them it was our anniversary and we got a free scoop of green tea ice cream, which I had not had in quite a while

Not as good as Sushi Mono downtown and a little more pricey, but still pretty delicious. The atmosphere is very calm and the waiters are top notch.

I LOVE Sushi House - Wheaton! The Fire Roll is my ALL TIME FAVORITE Sushi Roll. The Fish is so fresh, I drive from the City to have sushi here. Tonya is an amazing waitress and the Sushi Chefs are fun and speedy. Always a great experience!!!

I called in a custom order order to pick up. The woman over the phone said it would be ready in 40-45 minutes. I arrived and it was ready for me to take out immediately. They had my order made perfectly. The staff was curteous. The restaurant was clean. I was out in less than 5 minutes. All and all, a great experience.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! my roommate and i go often and the staff is friendly and i never have to wait, for even a drink refill. the food is well prepared and delicious. Can get a little pricey but it IS sushi, you kind of expect that and you get what you pay for.

We gave this place another try because being pregnant makes me testy about where I eat. A marked improvement for all members of my family - my husband loved the steak teriyaki, first in the burbs he said that is not half fat. I had the healthy roll dinner which was so cute (I love presentation) it has veggies on top of rice (how tuna, etc comes) and rolls filled with tofu - of course $15 was a bit pricey for 8 pieces of veggie sushi and a cucumber roll in my mind, and the service did take more than an hour. The quality and offerings defintely went up in the veggie market - no offering kaiware, and shitake rolls, but sadly the service was still subpar and slow. Bonus points for there being no fish roe on my rolls like there is at Wild Tuna, one reason I don't go there anymore.

Craving sushi on my birthday, this was an easy pick. We ordered five rolls between the two of us. The spicy tuna was, indeed, pretty spicy. In fact, I only got through about half the roll. Tim, however, was happy to gobble up the rest as he is more into spice than I am. The shrimp tempura was decent. However, I would have liked it to be a little bit more crispy. I felt it was a little on the mushy side. It also didn't have much in terms of complimentary flavors. I felt this was also relevant in the california roll I ordered. While all the ingredients, independently were good in quality and freshness, I feel their standard rolls lack originality and flavor combination. The only exceptions seem to be on their special menu, where the rolls soar to double the price. Their "Red Dragon" was much better than the other standard rolls, but were certainly not worthy of an $15 price point. The service is good and the place is never really crowded. We will certainly return as overall, it is one of the better suburban sushi options.

Ate lunch here with my co-workers and service was sloooooooww... I had a spicy tuna roll that was not very good at all and a "#7" specialty roll that was good, but cost a whopping $17 (which was not indicated on the board at the front of the restaurant where I saw the roll described). Thats a lot of dough for lunch.

30 minute wait despite reservations. Food took an hour for 3 of us, but one person's food never came until finally breaking into tears and leaving hungry. They tried to charge us for her dish!!! Having lived in Asia for several years I'm pretty sure there weren't any communication difficulties. They were just a**holes. Oh, and the food. yeah, who cares...

I have nothing bad to say about SH. They have friendly service and it's a nice, quiet place to eat. I do recommend going on a weeknight when it's not so crowded. The sushi there is pretty good, although I have had a little better. It is a little pricey for what it is, but I always leave happy and relaxed - maybe that's because the staff does a great job of recommending sake.

My wife and I decided to stop by Sushi House over the weekend since we were at nearby stores and we were hungry to try a different sushi place. For a Saturday night, the place was filled to capacity. However, we could tell there were plenty of carry out orders being fulfilled, and as such we didn't even get any appetizer until almost half an hour later. The sushi itself came much later and although we anticipated some great maki rolls, it wasn't too spectacular. I'd say if we weren't so hungry and waiting so long for our sushi, we would've enjoyed it more, but our expectations weren't met. We tried the tiger roll, crunchy roll, and the wheaton roll. The Wheaton roll being one of the specialty rolls, it wasn't that bad, but we actually enjoyed the crunchy roll better. Not a great experience, but it probably would be better on a less busy night.

We enjoy Japanese food, and Sushi House, Wheaton, has much to offer. It is clean. The food is fresh and meticulously prepared. We really like the cod appetizer, very nicely done. Unlike Sushi House, Westmont, which has more Chinese-style dishes, the dishes here are much more authentic. It is well worth the drive.

Some of the best sushi I have ever had. All of their dishes are fresh and have wonderful flavor. The restaurant is small, but very relaxing. The servers are great, they help you with any questions you might have. I've enjoyed myself ever time I've been here. A definite must if you're in the area.

I only been to Sushi House two times since I moved to Wheaton and both experiences were great...that is until a few hours later.... The first time I had Unagi, California, and Spicy Tuna rolls to go. I called it in and the food was ready when I got there. The hostess was very nice and I went home to enjoy my sushi and video games. However I ended up getting violently ill later that night. I thought maybe it was just a coincidence and decided to go again this weekend. This time my friend and I decided to eat there and I had a glass of Riesling with my Sashimi meal and Unagi rolls. We went on with our night and everything was fine until about 10 p.m. when I started to feel ill again. I once again found myself praying to the porcelain god and am really disappointed because this place seems so great. I would love to say that its my first few experiences with sushi and maybe I am allergic to something but unfortunately that would not be true. If you do go there be careful what you order and maybe down that tab of wasabi they give because it is known to kill bacteria.

Excellent sushi right here in the western 'burbs...consistent, high-quality and creative - be sure to try the Fish on Chip as a starter!

(2)Jennifer N.

(3)M f.
(5)Karen F.
(4)Andy T.
Did not like that the chefs were not wearing gloves while making my sushi. Miso soup was very salty. Sushi was very generic and cheaply made for their prices no intricate designs like most sushi places have very simple. Sorry not going back~
(2)Erica B.
Best for the price. May not have happy hour prices but the fish is the best in Wheaton. Chicken and steak meals offered along with noodle dishes. Green tea mocchi balls are my favorite
(5)Jessica F.
(3)Curtis B.
Delish! Had the seaweed salad and assortment of maki and nigri, and they were fresh and delightful. The server was attentive, ensuring the glasses of saki never went empty. The Andes mints at the end of the meal was a nice touch.
(5)Taylor M.
(2)Sam B.
(1)Corinne H.
(5)William S.
Hands down wonderful sushi with great service.. Tonya and John make you feel like family.. Best sushi anywhere near Wheaton!!!
(5)Adrienne J.
(4)Ron S.

(4)Se Hwan P.
Disappointing. If you are looking for a high-end sushi place, this is NOT the place. Overall quality of menus are mediocre at best.
(1)Jared P.
I was starving and hungry for noodles. I'm not sure how one person can cost $20 just for some noodles and dumplings, but this place found a way. I didn't pay that much in Tokyo.
(3)Nichole C.
(3)Daniel N.
(4)Chris L.

(2)Tiffany P.
(3)Thomas L.
this is my favorite restaurant! The Sushi is super fresh and the service rocks! I will admit I am a sushi snob and eat it 2-3 times a week. My whole family loves it as well.
(5)Karl C.
(4)Fons R.
(3)Connie P.
(5)Hal C.
(3)Juliet A.
(4)Dan C.
I am a fan! I love sushi and I can appreciate this place. There service is good and the sushi is fresh and not fishy. It's a bit on the pricey side but if you are in the area it's definitely worth it and it's clean inside.
(4)Denise B.
(2)Mo D.
(5)Andy K.
(4)Laura G.

Excellent sushi right here in the western 'burbs...consistent, high-quality and creative - be sure to try the Fish on Chip as a starter!
(5)Jan R.

(1)Dee E.
The BF and I went to this Sushi House location on a Monday evening in October. The verdict? Quite possibly the best sushi I have ever had in the 'burbs. The BF is fairly new to eating sushi and he absolutely loved it. OUTSTANDING!
(5)Brendan M.

(3)Michael L.
Good steak and sushi rolls
(4)Matt Z.
(5)M O.
(5)Rick T.
LOVE THIS PLACE!!! my roommate and i go often and the staff is friendly and i never have to wait, for even a drink refill. the food is well prepared and delicious. Can get a little pricey but it IS sushi, you kind of expect that and you get what you pay for.
(5)Emily C.
(3)Patricia K.
(3)Beth G.
Overpriced terrible sushi.
(2)Jeni F.
(2)Daniel E.
(1)Tim D.
(3)Josh D.
Love this place. Great sushi, friendly service. Love the jumbo shrimp shumai!
(5)Mike N.
(3)Fred H.
(5)Becky M.
Some of the best sushi I have ever had. All of their dishes are fresh and have wonderful flavor. The restaurant is small, but very relaxing. The servers are great, they help you with any questions you might have. I've enjoyed myself ever time I've been here. A definite must if you're in the area.
(5)Jen C.
(2)Danielle G.
I've only had take out from here but both times, it was just average.
(3)Andy T.
(5)Karen F.

(4)Corinne H.
(5)William S.
Hands down wonderful sushi with great service.. Tonya and John make you feel like family.. Best sushi anywhere near Wheaton!!!
(5)Adrienne J.

The sushi was luke warm and did not taste fresh. Also their menu was lacking many sushi staples.
(2)Andrew W.
Sashimi was pretty decent. Rolls weren't anything exciting. Service was less than admirable. And they were out of small bottles of sake, only had 700ml. Well...maybe you should open one and give us half and someone else half or keep it open for glasses, we don't need $75 of sake in our veins!
(3)M f.

Honestly I don't remember anything about this place other than we had sake flight that was pretty tasty!

(2)Jessica F.
(3)Curtis B.
Delish! Had the seaweed salad and assortment of maki and nigri, and they were fresh and delightful. The server was attentive, ensuring the glasses of saki never went empty. The Andes mints at the end of the meal was a nice touch.
(5)Taylor M.
(2)Matthew H.
Took a date to dinner here recently. Paid decent coin for mushy, mediocre sushi. If you are looking for very good sushi and to impress, look elsewhere. Sorry, SH, but you will need to pick up your game.

(5)George P.
(4)Joedel G.
(2)Tiffany P.
(3)Thomas L.
this is my favorite restaurant! The Sushi is super fresh and the service rocks! I will admit I am a sushi snob and eat it 2-3 times a week. My whole family loves it as well.
(5)Karl C.
(4)Daniel N.
(4)Chris L.
(4)Sarah L.
(4)Fons R.
(3)Connie P.
(5)Hal C.
(3)Juliet A.
(4)Dan C.
I am a fan! I love sushi and I can appreciate this place. There service is good and the sushi is fresh and not fishy. It's a bit on the pricey side but if you are in the area it's definitely worth it and it's clean inside.
(4)Denise B.
(2)Mo D.
(5)Andy K.
(4)Laura G.
(1)Scott M.
Excellent sushi right here in the western 'burbs...consistent, high-quality and creative - be sure to try the Fish on Chip as a starter!
(5)Jan R.
(5)Zach D.
(1)Dee E.
The BF and I went to this Sushi House location on a Monday evening in October. The verdict? Quite possibly the best sushi I have ever had in the 'burbs. The BF is fairly new to eating sushi and he absolutely loved it. OUTSTANDING!
(5)Brendan M.
My last thought my gf and I told them it was our anniversary and we got a free scoop of green tea ice cream, which I had not had in quite a while
(3)Jennifer B.
Not as good as Sushi Mono downtown and a little more pricey, but still pretty delicious. The atmosphere is very calm and the waiters are top notch.
(3)Michael L.
Good steak and sushi rolls
(4)Matt Z.
(5)M O.
(5)Rick T.
LOVE THIS PLACE!!! my roommate and i go often and the staff is friendly and i never have to wait, for even a drink refill. the food is well prepared and delicious. Can get a little pricey but it IS sushi, you kind of expect that and you get what you pay for.
(5)Emily C.
(3)Jason D.
Tasty and fresh sushi at a reasonable price. The restaraunt decor is simple and not too flashy, much like the sushi menu. Every time we order here the food is great. The only star I take away is for variety. I would like to see more rolls on the menu.
(4)Alison S.
Great sushi, fast friendly service! They will make special rolls for you based on what you like, although the rolls they have on the menu are all awesome anyway. If you are looking for a good sushi place, give them a shot.
(5)Heather S.
The sushi was okay but it took an hour from the time we placed our order for our sushi rolls to arrive. There was no apology or explanation as to why it took so long. There were only 2 sushi chefs on duty for the whole restaurant.
(2)Paul P.
(4)Tracey M.
For the first time in a long time I don't have much to write (this is a big deal as many who know me I love to talk and express my opinion both verbally and written). Mainly because it's been awhile since I went to Sushi House. What do I remember that I could possibly write about? Good sushi, good service. Need more information - I think not!
(4)Diane H.
My husband and I love this place. Yes it's a bit pricey but we view it as a special treat and well worth the price. I recommend the dragon roll and try whatever special they have. I don't think we've tried anything there we didn't like and the service has always been spectacular however we always go during the week or early on a weekend.
(4)Eileen C.
(5)chas d.
great sushi at this place.. 2 words... Volcano Roll.. not sure if it's on the menu but the chefs will know what your talking about. Ask for Tanya if you can as she is very helpful.
(4)Carly C.
(5)Patricia K.
(3)Beth G.
Overpriced terrible sushi.
(2)Jeni F.
(2)Sage M.
Decent Japanese food for the suburbs. The chef seems authentically trained and the quality of the sushi and rolls (per my sushi loving husband) is pretty good. We've been here a number of times and the quality seemed consistent.
(4)Kelly S.
(4)Daniel E.
(1)Tim D.
(3)Josh D.
Love this place. Great sushi, friendly service. Love the jumbo shrimp shumai!
(5)Mike N.
(3)Fred H.
(5)Becky M.
Some of the best sushi I have ever had. All of their dishes are fresh and have wonderful flavor. The restaurant is small, but very relaxing. The servers are great, they help you with any questions you might have. I've enjoyed myself ever time I've been here. A definite must if you're in the area.
