I love this place. It's a cute little place that feels like it should be in a small college town. The walls are decorated with pictures of celebrities and little league teams. it's small (I think it used to be a duncan doughnuts), but the food is pretty yummy. It's a great small town breakfast joint where everyone knows your name. Don't go there if you're into gourmet foo foo breakfast/ brunch/lunch foods. They keep it simple.

So I went to Lepetite Cafe for breakfast today and my expierance was not so good. The decor inside is really busy, patterns on the carpet, VERY flowery wall paper and pink lights...kinda grandma's housei-sh? It is also very loud inside, and kinda small. I got Strawberry Banana Pancakes with a side of bacon. Now they dont have Strawberry Bannana Pancakes on the menue, they have Strawberry Pancakes and Bannana Pancakes, so if you want both the strawberrys and bannanas it is extra. (which my server did not tell me when I ordered) Normally np for me, but the fruit was seriously lacking on these pancakes, and one of the bannana's they used was turning black in the middle (and by turning I mean it was black) and the strawberrys were few. All the fruit topping my pancakes was cold, :( .I can make better pancakes at home than I got there. Also the bacon was way over done, and I didn't even ask for it to be crispy. I was seated quickley but felt very rushed by my server when ordering. When I noticed the blackness of half of the bannana on my plate I told my server, she offered to get me somehting else, A+ on that part, but I didnt really want anything after seeing that. The thing that really made me mad was that they tried to charge me the extra charge for adding bannana's to the strawberry pancakes?!?!? What? I did complain then and they took the extra charge off. The service I got from my server was so so, and the guy that rings out was not nice to me with the bannana situation. everyone has an off day I guess, maybe I will give them another shot...

I just returned from breakfast with with my mother and my wife. It was Mother's Day and we didn't want to battle the overpriced brunch crowd, so we thought we could have a quiet simple breakfast here. This run of the mill diner tried to pass itself off as an upscale brunch place. The only thing upscale were the prices. They pared down their regular menu to about 6 choices and jacked up the prices no less than 50%. e.g. 2 eggs with hash browns, toast and ham $10 (Yes, Ten Dollars). We suffered through for Mom's sake, but I'm going to spread the word. The place is OK for a simple breakfast, but when it gouges people on a sentimental holiday like Mother's Day, it is time boycott the place.

Our GPS took us through Chicago on a new route so this was our first time stopping at Le Petite Cafe for breakfast. We found this small diner to be full of atmosphere; the waitresses had oozed Chicago, Halloween decorations and interesting decor. Aside from the atmosphere, the food and service were excellent. We both ordered the sausage skillet and it was excellent. Come hungry - - - the servings were large.

We love this little diner. A great place for Sunday brunch or breakfast. Huge menu. Cheap prices. Good service. The only down sides, very busy, limited hours open and (maybe living up the the name) a bit too small. But the food makes up for it all.

Great brunch spot, price point was good and portions were generous. The Skillets seem to be their specialty. Food ***** Service **** Price *****

A friend and I came here for a Sunday brunch, there was a small crowd when we first got there but we waited no more than five minutes to get seated The food was great and the portions were generous for the price. The French toast is amazing and my friend really loved his chorizo skillet. Overall a great experience, only thing I would say is our server didn't smile much at all but other than that it merits five stars.

We've been going here for years and to be honest since Mary's departure the place has gone down, which has resulted in our visits becoming less frequent. We decided to go here today for breakfast because of the convenient location. The food was average and the service was below par. Although it wasn't busy when we dined , I would think the staff could better occupy their time besides socializing and eating while working their stations. With that being said, Le Petite will continue to be our last resort for our breakfast needs. It's sad to see a local business take a turn like this.

Amazing veggie skillet and rich dessert snickers pancakes! HUGE portions, decent prices. Service wasn't the best though. Our server forgot to put in part of our order, took awhile to check in, and took a long time to get us our boxes and check. He was very attentive to the neighboring table of businessmen though.

Great omelets! Great service as well. Perfect place to have in the neighborhood! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I decided to pick up lunch from Le Petite Cafe around 1:45 on a Thursday. My bank is directly across the street and I only had a limited time to grab lunch and head back to my office so I decided to give them a try. I figured they would have a standard tuna sandwich with fries meal and I was correct. I paid $8.49 for the tuna meal and it came with a small cup of soup and they had it ready to go in under 10 minutes of my call. The place is very tiny and a bit dated with sort of a shabby sheik decor. I can imagine it gets pretty packed in the mornings or on the weekends but since I was close to closing time there were only a few people dinning. Oh there hours are 6AM to 3PM every day. The food was pretty good, nothing terribly fantastic but the portions were fairly large and it hit the spot. And was still better than what you get from a Subway, I imagine they are known much more for their breakfasts. I will probably go back again since it's close to where I work but not sure I would ever travel out of my way to dine there.

I had the gypsy skillet with french toast. I enjoyed it though my eggs were a little runny. My G/F had the breakfast sampler with regular toast. She complained about the service and about her eggs being runny in spite 9f her specific instructions to cook the white and leave the yolk. Her food was also a little cold. She was happy with the portion size. My buddy had 2 eggs with ham, corn beef hash and pancakes. The ham slices were huge and he couldnt finish the meal. Overall we agree that this joint deserves 3 stars.

Nice place for breakfast, food portion was filling, we ordered the skillet taco and skillet hash browns, took home 1/2 the meals. Waitress and staff were very accommodating. Parking space a plus, we walked right in and was seated. Thumbs up, come in with an appetite. Orange juice, fleshly squeezed; however no free refills that was a downer.

Went in for a weekend breakfast with my family. The pricing for entrees was more than reasonable, but a side of sausage and a single scrambled egg for my 2 year old son was quite expensive for some odd reason. Food was of good quality and the service was brisk.

Found this with the help of Yelp. Thank you Yelp. I really enjoyed this place. It is exactly as the review make it sound. The interior is just like you would want a breakfast spot of choice - the walls and trim had a rose colored paint and flowery accents here and there. There were stained glass accents, odd lighting and just all kinds of design features that took you back to 1986. The whole place was quirky. All that being said, the food was great. The staff and service were quick. The price was overall pretty cheap for what we got. The coffee was fitting for a place like this - strong, bold, maybe a little dated, but just right. If I am ever in the Chicago-greater area again, I'll stop in to check on this place. I bet I see the same patrons packing the booths and tables, and the same exact decorations.

I went there for a late breakfast and was surprised when I got my bill that I was charged for hot water I ordered. Go figure, i don't like cold water w/lemon but hot water instead. When I questioned it at the cash register, the waitress merely responded that they always charge for hot water, like it was a stupid question. I was so surprised by her answer and the fact I had to pay for water, I told them it would be my LAST time in the restaurant.

This place is good for a nice breakfast. We had skirt steak and eggs. it is good for families too. The service was very good here, our coffee never got half way gone before they were already refilling it. Our server today was Maria, and she was very good.

This place was very good. The outside isn't beautiful, but the food was great. And the portions were huge.

Did not live up to four stars. Mediocre at best. I had eggs Benedict. No flavor in sauce and ham was tough. My daughter had a skillet with WAY too much green pepper. Cheap?? Do not recommend. Should have driven further to Lagrange.

This place needs to be put out of its misery. The sound system is such an unrivaled disaster of static hiss that it's impossible to sit comfortably and enjoy the food. No problem, because the food is unpalatable. I ordered the cinnamon french toast. It looks very good on the plate but no matter what I tried--powdered sugar, syrup, fruit--nothing could overcome the stale toughness and the bland to bitter taste. Basically, I ended up buying a $12.50 cup of coffee. Never again!

I first stumbled into Le Petit cafe about a year ago. I don't normally leave my house to eat out; i do it for meeting friends and for when i need food when out and about, but i break that rule for LePetit. The atmosphere is family restaurant, and done well; there are usually some seasonal / holiday decorations, and even the waitresses take part with their outfits. The coffee is good and constantly refilled, the fool is wonderful, portions generous, and the prices reasonable. What's not to love?

WAAAY overpriced! $25 bux for 2 plates of eggs, burnt potatoes and 2 coffees?! Not even juice or one side item for that price.....regular cup of coffee $2.25! NEVER in my life have I paid that much for breakfast....let alone one so mediocre at best. Will NOT be back!

Weekend breakfast (and lunch) diner!... BREAKFAST, BREAKFAST, BREAKFAST. Good food. Good Prices. Interesting, original menu selections (along with the usual suspects). Cozy, friendly, bright, busy, neighborhood place! Everybody knows everybody (swing by during the holidays when the wait staff is decked out in "Elf" costumes that were made by a regular patron)! Outstanding breakfast sausage both smoked and regular - (may be homemade or from a specialty shop - don't know, need to ask). Great service. The place is a converted fast food joint - they did a good job fitting in maximum seating - can sometimes be a wait, but usually not too long as the wait staff pace keeps things moving. I see people waiting in huge lines at Blueberry Hill for breakfast in downtown Lagrange - and I buzz right by them. - The food here is better! Full lunch menu, something for everybody.

This is a wonderful local spot with a very friendly atmosphere. The food is not the greatest in the world, nor does it pretend to be. However, as far as comfort breakfast is concerned, it does the job and does it well. I've never had an issue with seating or bad service and I've been there many times.

Good food but really bad service, not going back again I ordered a cinnamon twirl toast and the server told me "I can bring that because is to big" are you serious???? So whatever you order they will tell you why they can't bring it to you not going back to this place

Sometimes I forget where I am and order things that just should not be ordered. When out for breakfast this Sunday, I was feeling anemic and ordered skirt steak and eggs. At a Family Restaurant. Mistake. This reminded me of why I hated meat growing up. Bad quality, residue of freezer burn and absolutely no flavor other than grease. then, I went to take a piece of my scrambled eggs and they were literally raw in the center. Gross. Husband went for the natural safe choice of plain french toast - you can't really screw that up. The waiter was slammed with a lot of demanding and large tables, so service was really slow, but nothing terrible - especially for 12:00. I think I will save myself la petite stomachache in the future and drive on by. Bonus is that Wally's donuts is right next door!

used to be my favorite but they've went downhill. Food has been sub par and over priced. The two owners are married but I think they separated and has taken a dive.

Great skillets-big portion and best soup is on Sunday! The only downfall is they are not open for dinner. Never had a bad experience and the workers are only nice. Make sure to go early on weekends or at least avoid times when church lets out.

This welcoming place has a large menu, great skillets, excellent cinnamon rolls loaded with icing, and is usually pretty busy at peak hours on weekends. The service is excellent, with one gentleman in particular who's always there and always friendly. Occasionally, you'll get one of those no-nonsense older gal types who are efficient but rarely smile. Decor is a bit dated, but in a kitchy and appealing way. Walking space is minimal, which makes it tricky walking to the restroom past speedy servers. There are also photos of celebrities past and present all over the walls--for no good reason, but it gives you plenty to look at while your order is prepared. This place would only have gotten three stars before Illinois outlawed public smoking. Now it's a pleasue. The only real negative is that they are religious about their NO SUBSTITUTIONS policy. Did some customer go too far and cause them to be so strict?! Also, I think they should have an egg salad sandwich or some other vegetarian option besides the usual salad (especiually if they're going to be so steadfast on not altering menu items)--although they did at one time have a veggie burger as a special so perhaps not enough people ordered it. So, LPC, your four-stars comes with an asterisk. Give your regulars a break and allow them a change or two within reason--it makes a difference in how you're perceived. P.S. I know signs and menus are expensive to change, so I won't quibble about the incorrect French feminine suffix on "Petite". I point it out just so future reviewers don't have to.
