Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I ordered the Italian beef sandwich and could only eat two bites, it was to spicy for me. Hubby and son enjoyed it. The salad was okay, the house dressing was delish. Family ordered a pepperoni pizza and the crust was flavorless cardboard/toast. Food was over priced. We will not return.

Always tasty Chicago pie, always expensive. Close to $35 for their large Chicago classic. Yikes.

My wife and I have been going to Giordano's for years. In Chicagoland they are everywhere. We went to this one last Saturday (29-Mar-2014) with some friends that were visiting from Colorado. We were 6 adults and 3 small children and we arrived with no reservation at 6:30pm. I was amazed that we were seated within 5 minutes. Our server really did try his best, and we could all tell that he was frustrated because it seemed like they were understaffed. He was always having to help the other server and the bus boys. It just didn't seem right that there would only be two servers working on a Saturday evening. Refills were hard to come by, but the service was overall just ok. The fried calamari is a good appetizer, and the deep dish pizza was good also. There just wasn't a lot about the experience that really stood our or made me think I would need to come back. I have Giordano's locations down the street from where I live and another across the street from my job, so I'll keep them as backups if I'm ever super hungry, and there isn't anywhere else to go. Our group reported a bill of $108.00, and because of the size of the group that $108.00 included a 15% service charge. Nothing against the server personally, but we didn't leave any additional tip/gratuity.

This place is my favorite, with a cozy setting and amazing service we make this our family's Giordano's location. The foods great (duh) and service is super friendly. They even play christian music! Defiantly recommend this spot next time you want pizza!

All I can say is Classic. Proof that Chicagoites actually eat deep dish? Perhaps. Don't do delivery as it is inevitably for the cheese to begin to harden. Deep dish is best straight from the oven on site. Unless your gluttons there will be left overs.

Deep-dish pizza. Beer. Cocktails. What's not to love? I recently came to Giordano's for a wedding rehearsal dinner, and we had a really nice time. The bride and groom had reserved a private room downstairs. It had six large round tables for people to sit at, and in the back of the room food was set up. There was salad and mostacholi and pizza of every kind. Of course, there was deep dish, but there was thin-crust, too. The food was brought out by staff and served buffet-style, so I can't really speak to the level of service. We did get cocktails upstairs. The bartender was friendly, but he didn't really seem to know his way around behind the bar too well. It wasn't a big deal, though. We just wanted to get our drink on after a long day of pre-wedding festivities. I would definitely recommend holding private events at this Giordano's. The space in the basement isn't super fancy, but you get the whole room to yourself and can probably fit 60 people down there. And they let you and your guests box up uneaten pizza and take it home. Good deal!

Most Chicagoans know this chain for their stuffed pizza. I find their stuffed pizza at the Westchester location to have too much of a raw sauce taste. I prefer other places for stuffed pizzas and I prefer Giordano's thin to their stuffed--shocker! People ding them for slow delivery but this is to be expected with stuffed pizza. It can take 30-40 minutes to cook, in addition to prep time and delivery. So give 'em a break on that or stick to my suggestion or ordering the thin crust if you are in a hurry. Instead of zigging, zag with the thin crust in Westchester. It's surprisingly good at this location.

I booked this location for a baptism lunch and was very disappointed. We had a party of 50 people they only had one server to assist us was also serving the rest of the restaurants on a busy Sunday for a Bears football game. It was a terrible experience I do not recommend them for any kind of party. The food is good but Giordanos pizza is the same no matter which location you go to.

I love me some Giordano's! I would go as far as to say it's my favorite pizza place in Chicago. This restaurant is a pretty good representation of the chain. The cooks do a great job of serving up a great pie and appetizers! Ok so I've only dined in once. It was a pretty forgettable experience. I would say it's a good place for a first date. It's not intimidating and the lot is pretty accessible if you're coming from the east. It looks like a plush pizza place. Nothing super swanky. My one complaint would be their delivery is kinda slow. Make sure you keep track of time. I've definitely waited 2 hours and I definitely only live 5 mins away. Other than that I'd say check them out!

Good pizza. Service was a little slow, but that's because they had a late unexpected rush.
(4)Marilyn M.
We have been to this Giordano's a number of times and really enjoy their food. They have updated their menu recently, and it is so much better than the old one. They have added some interesting sandwiches and we love their parmesan fries. We also really like the pizza.

Not the best Giordano's around. We ordered once for delivery and it was tasty. The other evening we dined in and the pizza was "fine" but the service was kind of crappy. They stuck us in a booth in the entry/walkway even though the back was empty. I was right by the half wall that leads into the kitchen, it was clean, but the tile made me feel like I was sitting near a bathroom. They had boxing on the TV (who wants to watch to men beat each other senseless over dinner?). The TVs were on mute and there was no music. Made the place feel kind of "blah." The old Chicago-related posters are fun to look at if they aren't busy and you can wander around. The server never came by to check back really, and seemed to avoid looking at us when we rushed by. I wasn't expecting much when I ordered their "premium" house Chianti, but it didn't even meet my low expectations. The busser was good, empty dishes never sat long and our water was always full, so I guess that was good.

Leticia, my order taker was very friendly.I recommend the meat lovers pizza.

Every time I'm in Chicago I stop here for my deep dish pizza fix!! They always have Great deep dish pizza! Crust on the bottom is crisp, not soggy and the sides are not burned. Mmmm... Good!
(4)Tom B.
Best pizza around Westchester. They always get my takeout order right and they always have a coupons in the local mailings. :)

I don't know why people are always waiting at the Oak Brook Terrace location. This Giordano's is less than 10 minutes East and was EMPTY on a Saturday night. We didn't have to wait for a table OR service. I don't need any more information than that. Sold. If you live in or have ever visited Chicago, you know Giordano's. Whether eating the thin crust or the deep dish, the pizza always satisfies my pizza tooth. This location has the same quality and great taste as all the others without the crazy waits. The best in the West. Chester.

Tried this place out on our weekend in Chicago for my birthday. We had the Calamri and more appetizer. So nummers! We got a small stuffed peperoni & sausage. The whole dining experience was quite good. If we brave Chicago again, we will return!

We've been here about 2 minutes, our waiter came and handed us menus and said "what did you guys want?" Well sir, I think what I want the most is about 3 minutes to read the menu. My boyfriend asked what beer they have on tap and he just pointed to the wine list and left, it is supposed to have beer on the back but doesn't, so we still don't know what beer they have. We ordered a sampler platter and when he came back with our waters he asked what kind of appetizers we want... Not sure how the rest of the meal is going to go but right now I feel like I'm really imposing on something important he would rather be doing.

Chicago Deep Dish Pizza! This has basically been the brand that has hammered in my head what Chicago style Deep dish pizza is...they've done a great job at hammering that message to everyone outside of Chicago as well. I've only dine in once with a relative from ATL who wanted to come here. Usually I will place my order and go shopping at Jewels-Osco right next door. Right after getting my pizza home I'm reminded why I don't really like Deep dish. (I recently found out that I do like Deep Dish. Just not at Giordano's)

A good place to have Chicago style pizza with your friends and family. I have been to this place with my friends and ordered in advance for 2 stuffed sausage pizza as it took them 40min to prepare this dish. So,after reaching here we got our order. The taste was really good, and more than enough for us. Many options in beer, service is quick and ambiance is also very decent.

Been here a few times for deep dish.. Yummy!! Lots of melt in your mouth cheese, mmmm. Thick, plentiful slices, very filling. I always have leftovers I prefer carry out, over dining in. My experience dining in wasn't that great. Our waiter wasn't attentive... Maybe just an off day. But their pizza never disappoints. Not too pricey, fresh ingredients
(4)Daniel D.
Good solid Chicago-style pizza. I prefer Lou Malnati's for a chain Chicago-style pizza, but this is a good choice as well.
(3)Teresa W.
While in Chicago, I had to check out their deep dish pizza and I heard Giordano's is the place to be. We ordered the Special Deep Dish Pizza (sausage, mushrooms, green pepper, and onions) with an addition of pineapple because I LOVE PINEAPPLE :D! We also added the Caesar Salad. The pizza was pretty good, and I get why everyone loved their deep dish pizza since it was stuffed so much. I'm more of a thin crust pizza kinda gal though. But, the cheese on their pizza was awesome and you can see the quality as you take a slice out and the pizza stretches! Nothing special about the salad though.
(3)Rudy L.
This restaurant is a pretty good representation of the chain. The cooks do a great job of serving up a great pie and appetizers. They always have great deep dish pizza. Crust on the bottom is crisp, not soggy and the sides are not burned.

We love this place. We always visit with friends, it is so relaxed to sit and talk. The service is great, and the food is wonderful. The appetizer platter is quite a variety, and the pizza is crispy and full of flavor.

Love - love - love Giordano's stuffed pizza but I was frustrated when on a Monday night - we live under 10 mins away - our pizza was late. They told us within the hour for a stuffed medium cheese 1/2 spinach. It took an hour and 15 minutes. I know it was rush hour and there are trains in the area but they could have called? Within the hour usually means less than an entire hour, right? Meh. The pizza was good and the delivery guy was super nice. Maybe next time I order, I won't wait til 5:30 to order if it will take so long.
(3)Kmberly B.
Mediocre at best. However, there really isn't any other sit down pizza spot in the area for late dinner =( The food is basic Giordano's nothing special, but nothing horrible either. If you are from out of town the pizza would be considered great, but for a local that knows better it's not all it could be. I've had better pizzas and better experiences from other places of the same chain. When you walk in you are seated immediately and the server was really good about greeting us and checking in until we figured out what we wanted to order. Then she was gone. She returned with the food just under an hour later and refilled people's sodas. However, she failed to refill a single water glass and considering that's what half our table was drinking I found this frustrating. Only after I consumed half of my food was I able to flag her down to ask for more water, and the peeps who were drinking soda (whose glasses were now empty) were ignored. The decor rather than looking interesting and vintage just looks old. There are a few cool things to look at and read from old school Chicago days, but overall it just looks dreary. There are two tv's and both are small and in awkward places so if a game is on, don't plan on watching it. If you are fortunate enough to be able to see the screen don't count on being able to hear it. There is a basic restaurant playlists that can be heard rather than being able to hear the score. On the brighter side, the music is at a good volume that you can still have dinner conversation without it taking over or disappearing into the background. I recently returned hoping that maybe since it had been awhile that this place had cleaned up and changed. Unfortunately, It didn't get any better. I had a different server, but her attitude was the same and the service was still lacking. =(

Great pizza but the service is mediocre and slow
(3)Jennifer C.
Great deep dish. But dayum! its expensive. I dont like to eat deep dish that often just becuase it leaves me feeling like i ate a puppy. Each slice of pizza is like 3lbs. Anyway, the food is consistentley good, and a bonus is that they have good sauce.
(4)Cassie B.
I went here more times than i can count before i was all growns' up. (although i have been back, so this review is current) The service is generally rude and slow. they charge extra for refills so watch out. the food is the same as the other giordano's, which is, i think, ok but not great. not many other restaurant options in this neighborhood.
(2)Carrie K.
Their pizza is spotty, sometimes it is good, sometimes not so good. If you eat-in and order deep dish, be prepared to wait forever! We go here and order from Giordano's sometime we are disappointed, sometimes not. Just depends.
(3)Robert S.
The restaurant is largely forgettable except for the stuffed pizza which is definitely the best in the area. The other pizza options on the menu are good, but anything not pizza is pretty lacking (one exception is the appetizer sampler platter which is a nice array of fried goodies). Service is only average, but they usually refill drinks frequently. If you are looking for a good Chicago-style pizza this is an excellent place and is a must for visitors to the Chicago suburbs.
