About Taco Bell
Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.
The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.
Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This is the worst taco bell ever! I ordered a taco salad and asked for extra tomatoes and when I got home it was all sour cream and beans w lettuce tossed in. I would not recommend this taco bell find another one. Or try El Coco Loco on Main St.

Worst taco bell I have ever been to and I am a regular taco bell eater. They had no baja sauce or baja blast. Wtf? Whats the point? I went there with a car full of 4 people one night asking for separate orders. It was 20 minutes until close. She said she cant do separate orders and that I have to drive around FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES. Even though I was angry nothing else was open except mcdonalds and I am a vegetarian. So we get the first order. Go around again and get the second and I ask If we can just order through the window to make it easier for all of us especially since no traffic was to be seen anywhere. Its not like they are busy. She said no. I got around AGAIN and order the THIRD order with a slight attitude because its a complete joke. We get it. Whatever. Go around for the FORTH order. Before I even open my mouth she yells "welcome to taco bell we are closed" and she knows its us. Keep in mind they arnt even closed yet!!!! I pull up to the window demanding why she made us go through all the bullshit just to screw over our last order but she was nowhere to be found. Livid is beyond anything I can think of to act. Shitbags.

I work in West Chicago and there aren't too many options for lunch in the area. That said, Taco Bell use to be a regular stop for me. For awhile, they were pretty efficient at the drive-thru and rarely made mistakes. As of late, the service here has been less than satisfactory. Slow drive-thru, wrong items, and long delays when going inside to order. Looks like they may be down to a bare minimum crew, but that may not be the best strategy for the lunch hour. Each time my coworker has gone to this Taco Bell in the past 6 months, he always returns frustrated with the wait or the wrong items in his order. I have experienced some of the same. When I order three hard shell tacos (a basic Taco Bell item), I don't want sour cream in my tacos (that's called a Taco Supreme). When I order Mac-and-Cheese from the KFC menu, I don't want Mashed Potatoes with Gravy (that's called Mashed Potatoes with Gravy). It's getting to the point where I opt to drive 20 minutes out of my way to find other places to dine for lunch. Unfortunately, when I don't have enough time on my lunch break to go out of my way, I have to resort to something quick and local. And there's only so much "Subway" one can eat. The day manager is a nice lady (who use to be in charge of the drive-thru when it was quite efficient). She's now at the front counter and still knows her stuff. But that alone doesn't help with the quality and timing of service overall. So, if you're in West Chicago and have a craving for Taco Bell (or KFC), plan on a delay and be sure to check your order before you leave.

Saturday July 20 2013 130 pm Girl at counter very friendly and quite chipper. Worked mostly by herself kept it together even with a growing line. This tb kfc usually has someone in front that doesn't have a clue. Wish I has her name to compliment management

When the deal came out for the free grilled chicken meal, I got the email at work that day and was excited to try it because it looked yummy...so we went to our local KFC/Taco Bell on 59 in West Chicago (we live less than a mile away) and something like 4 employees said that they would not honor them because they were copies...I showed them that I only printed what I was allowed and they had DIFFERENT numbers on them. Then some lady from the back came up and said nope...these are copies because this part is supposed to be red. I proceeded to tell her that I did not have a color printer and she proceeded to tell me that she didn't either and that part still came out red. (her intelligence was showing at that point). We felt angry and humiliated because they were accusing us of making copies of these things...it was for ONE day...how many chicken meals do you think we are trying to steal, really? For this reason, when we want KFC/Taco Bell we drive all the way out to the one in Bartlett, IL. NEVER will these ignorant people get money from us or anyone else I can tell about it.

This review is for the WEST CHICAGO TACO BELL on Rte. 59, this does not necessarilly apply to other Taco Bells in general. For those of us who request tacos "without lettuce", you will be surprised what your taco actually looks like when you open it up. Again, this is almost always SYNONOMOUS with this Taco Bell in particular. The taco looks like it was literally thrown together in about 8 seconds. What you will see is: - a below average amount of "beef" (if you can call it that - in their defense though, the beef does taste better the last year or so - the recipe has been improved) - about 9-12 slivers of cheese. LITERALLY. In other words, hardly any cheese. Not a regular handful or finger-ful to even fill the taco up half-way. ** If you ask for "extra cheese", they will charge you for extra cheese, and they will put 3 extra slivers on (ie. none). I am not joshing ya. There must be an extreme cheese shortage that hit the world recently. No exaggerations. Don't even bother asking for extra cheese or paying for it. THEY WON'T GIVE IT TO YA. I recommend for a MUCH MUCH BETTER taco for about 35 cents more - go to Coco Loco right up Main Street (go West on Main street). Taco Bell couldn't compete with these guys. Coco Loco's taco are miles better and they LOAD the taco up - as it should be. If you get nachos bell grande and ask for extra cheese, instead of loading the chips with extra cheese, they will give you a tiny tiny side plastic thing with enough cheese to maybe put on 2 chips. In other words - something completely friggen worthless - even if you say you'll pay extra. (It probably costs them more to supply you with the little plastic cup rather than to just put some extra cheese on your darn nachos, right?) If you have a craving for Taco Bell in particular, you're best bet is to probably take your chances at the Taco Bell in Carol Stream (Hanover Park - on Army Trail Road) or the one in St. Charles near Kirk Rd. I rarely if ever go here anymore.

I thought I would be the only bad review for this location but seems that I'm the majority. Wow. I'm a regular at Taco Bell and sadly I frequent this one quite a bit because I work near here. Sad. Every other location is so much better! Let's begin, shall we? Just on today's experience alone they got my order wrong. Went back and she apologized once she recognized me as a recent customer. The fillings in tacos are stingy at best, the grilled stuffed nachos (a-maz-ing at other locations) were grilled on only one side which made it difficult to get out of the packaging. And that's just on this trip alone. Any 4+ star reviews must have been written by an employee or owner because it is damn near impossible to rate this place higher.
(1)Saul V.
Recently I've been coming to this Taco Bell often and have been satisfied with my visits despite the fact that the staff there don't have a sense of urgency. "Kind of okay" customer service at best. There are many times where we aren't attended by an employee for almost 5 minutes. I understand that they may have other necessities to attend to, but you would assume they would at least take all the orders first. I usually go with friends on a weekend so thankfully urgency isn't that big of an issue since we have a lot of time. You get a lot of bang for your buck if you buy burritos. You can get a full meal for about $3. If customer service were better, this establishment could easily be $5. I will keep coming back, but really would like the service to improve.
(3)Brendan R.
This might be the worst taco bell ive ever been too. Food is always cold. Always get the order wrong. Run out of large cups and dont tell you until youre at the window. But hey its taco bell... and its down the street.

Sucks. Liked the drive thru for times I didn't have lunch from home but arrived today and Im told over the speaker that they are closed and will re open tomorrow at 1030am. This has happened to me twice now yet there are lights on inside and cars in the lot.
