Much larger than the others I've been to. Lots of options.

This is my favorite Sweet Tomatoes. There is no carpet so they can keep the floor very clean and the tables don't wobble. We came here tonight and we were again reminded that the people that work here are consistently nice. At 8 PM on weekends we practically have the place to ourselves. The food is great and the baked goods are amazing. The featured dessert today was berry - apple cobbler. Have some with a dollop of ice cream. Subscribe to their e-mail list for the best deals.

As usual, Sweet Tomatoes doesn't disappoint. What a great way to spend lunchtime eating fresh foods. It was Italian themed today so I tried several new items on the menu that I never had before. I was absolutely in love with the Spicy Sausage & Pasta Soup and the Pasta shells with tortellini at the salad bar. Both were delicious! I vote to make these two items part of their regular menu! It was my first time at this particular ST location and I really liked it. The ceilings were high and airy so it felt really open. They had happy words written on the walls as well as pretty pictures. The food was just as great as the Sunnyvale, CA location. As always, find a coupon online ahead of time (they come out with new ones every week). It'll shave a few dollars off!

What can you say about Sweet Tomatoes...sometimes a salad just hits the spot. The salad bar was fresh and full of different sorts of things (surprisingly no meat though, ie. bacon, ham, salami). Then I moved to the soup. My clam chowder was a bit bland, but i've had worse. And of course my wife and I HAD to top it off with some ice cream. All in all a good experience at a restaurant we have enjoyed in the past and will enjoy again in the future.

When I'm hungry but I don't want to feel guilty for eating too much, I make my way over to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch or dinner. It features the longest, most well stocked salad bar around. The line starts with some of their specially tossed salads like Caesar or a delicious Chinese salad with wontons. Along the way, you can add any number of veggies, including beets pickled on the premises and finish off your salad with a dressing made fresh as well. For about $9, you also get access to a baked potato bar, home made muffins, focaccias with cheese only, cheese and marinara and pepperoni & cheese. You'll also typically find three pasta dishes like mac n' cheese, penne marinara and today I requested the penne with lemon cream and capers, which they cooked to order for me. My favorite part of the whole thing is a soup bar with 6-8 homemade soups. I sampled the cream of mushroom, lemon chicken orzo and the tomato basil bisque today. Soups are labelled low fat and vegetarian as well. There was also a country vegetable and a turkey chili. All are super! Desserts are typically some pudding, tapioca, fresh fruit, homemade brownies and a soft serve machine to make cones or sundaes with hot fudge or homemade caramel and a jimmy bar. The atmosphere is pleasant and clean. The employees are friendly and helpful. Its never been too crowded. Overall, I really like this place when I'm in the mood for a salad bar. Customers should be warned that there is very little meat in the offerings and no cubed meats to add to your salad. However, try the tuna tarragon pasta salad, it's unusual and delicious! Now to find out about these discounts people are talking about in the reviews!

I am not generally a fan of chain restaurants, and I'd never heard of this one before, but now I'm a big fan! I like buffets, but don't generally go to them because it's usually so unhealthy. So this is a great compromise! The salad bar was great. Everything was very fresh. All of the breads I tried were great. I loved the butter milk biscuits. There was a sweet potato side dish that was outstanding. The soups all looked really good, and I liked the ones I tried. This place would be great to come with a group of people that have different dietary restrictions. (Vegetarians and meat eaters would be happy. Carnivores might be less impressed). I liked that everything was well labeled.

It was fine. I wasn't in the mood for a salad bar, which is their specialty; it's big and abundant with most kinds of popular stuff. Their cream of mushroom soup was outstanding for a chain - very tasty mushrooms in a moderately-spiced (not at all spicy-hot, y'all) base and very attractive. Fettuccine Alfredo was bland. And the soft-serve ice cream station was adequate. The store was very clean and the help was friendly and helpful. A question on whether a pasta dish contained tomatoes was pretty quickly and honestly answered, along with a recommendation for another dish - which I appreciate. Parking and access to the store was easy. My wife and my dad liked it. Both had been to this chain before and recommend it. There wasn't anything here that I didn't like or found off-putting. I'm just not a chain guy, and I think I can do better.

This is exactly same as Souplantation. For some reason, Souplantation is souplantation only in california, but sweet tomato in other states. As for this specific location, food is good, and service is adequate. I don't think I will need to leave another review for another place even if I visit a different location.

Best salad buffet ever! Food is always fresh and the restaurant is always clean. Great selection of vegetables, prepared salads, dressings, toppings, soups, focaccias, pastas, etc. Baked potato station is great too with multiple topping options. The dessert area is nice-- some fruit, some muffins, ice cream and after 4, a warm fresh cobbler or something like that. All the employees at this location are extremely friendly and helpful, always greeting everyone with a smile. Love it!

This is one of the spots for my family. My wife and I enjoy it. My kids enjoy it. We all enjoy it! You walk in and create your own salad with so many fresh veggies to choose from, salad toppings and dozens of dressings. After the salad, you can get more salad or enjoy soup, potatoes, breads, fruits, pasta, or do what my kids do and go straight to dessert. Overall a good meal, enjoyable, and friendly service at this location. There are times when it could be a hit or miss but most of the time we are very satisfied with Sweet Tomatoes.

The salad bar is huge with plenty of toppings. They also have about 8 soups to choose from. However, I usually only think 1-2 of the soups look appetizing. They also have plenty of drinks to choose from along with a baked potato and dessert bar. You won't leave here feeling hungry!

Visited this location of sweet tomatoes yesterday (a Saturday) around 4 pm. It was mostly empty. I have visited about 5 other locations in the past and this was, by far, the worst. I am writing this review based about 95% on their food, because the place was immaculate and the busboys were extremely efficient. Except for the baked goods, which I highly suspect are shipped to the stores frozen and then baked on site, the food was horrible. In particular, the prepared salads, the pasta dishes, and the soups were just awful. The prepared salads were tasteless and watery, quite different from what I experienced in other locations with the same dishes. Same for the pastas, except for the fact that only two of them were prepared. The third had a note on it that said "please ask me if you want some of this" and I didn't bother asking. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the soups. The chicken soup, probably the most basic of all soups, was in a word horrible. It was like water with soggy noodles and tasteless chunks of chicken added. Salt and pepper did not improve it. The cream soups were all rather coagulated and all had skins on them in the big pots. I did not even want to taste them, but I did taste the clam chowder and tomato basil-- again, they all tasted WAY watered down as if the restaurant wanted to stretch their budget. The breads, muffins and brownies were the only things I enjoyed but that did not exactly meet the steep price. Even drinks are $2.49-- I hope you are thirsty! I love Sweet Tomatoes but this location gets a big NO. Find a different location and enjoy!

Love this place! The food is so fresh and the environment is very clean for a buffet. They have a large variety of salad toppings, soup, pizza, pasta, and breads. There are plenty of choices for kids too! I love all the drink choices, from hot tea to soda to flavored lemonaids. Make sure to check there site monthly as they are always changing there menu.

Unlimited Salad and soup! Somewhat healthy, dont you think? i went to STs for lunch. Drink was not included but i got military discount. The cashier girl was friendly. So the buffet line starts with a long salad bar, lots of variety. Salads looked fresh enough as if they constantly took care of freshness. (It was around 3pm) they had choices of fat free dressings, including fat free honey mustard which is my favorite. The only thing i wish they had was some slices of chicken breast meats for more flavor on my salad.. but you cant expect much meat when you are in a salad/soup buffet, i understand! It is not golden corral! The selection of soup was great. They had about 8-10 soups. My favorite was chicken noodle. They also had small selection of pizza, hot pasta, desert, bread, and icecream. Oh, and if you get a drink, make sure you try their strawberry lemonade!! After the meal, you can go for some coffee or tea. I was too full after 3 bowls of soups and salads... good for the price! And less calorie options!! There is no server btw.. but they pick up your plates. And they have togo as well

My favorite restaurant in the area! Love that they have vegetarian selections and that their menu changes often. Delicious soups, yummy muffins (especially the blueberry one) and great drinks (love the tea!). Recently had their pumpkin cobbler which was just so, so good-I hope it makes a comeback as fall season just started :-). Clean and pleasant environment . Also, every time we come here, we're greeted by friendly and smiling employees, which is nice and always appreciated. I come here at least a few times a month with my boyfriend, who also loves the place! We signed up for their emails and always get coupons-we don't come here without them bc the deals are so much better. Love it!

We always seem to stop here on our way back from the outlet mall in Kenosha and they're open until 10pm on Saturdays. Food is fresh and the workers are extremely friendly. I think I tried every soup that had available that night. From chili to chicken noodle soup, to the clam chowder. All their soups are excellent. Their chicken noodle soup has huge chunks of chicken in it. VERY GOOD. I also enjoyed the ice cream. The pastas are ok, nothing special. Also, if you stop here, make sure you try their bread with the cornbread with their home made butter. Overall, I love coming to this place when we're nearby. It's quick, not too expensive, and decent food.

I've been to several Sweet Tomatoes and those were a little better than this one. I like the concept and everything but their prices are steep unless you find a coupon. The great thing about Sweet Tomatoes is the large variety of fresh salads and vegetables, soups, etc., including freshly baked focaccia bread. The tomatoe bisque is very good as is the vegetable soup.

It is very welcoming to walk into a restaurant where you are greeted by a plate and then a magnificent spread! The prepared salads greet you at the beginning of the buffet line and the Asian crunch salad is so good, it is almost like I am eating a plate of candy...only I'm not, it's salad. You can also go down the line and make your own custom salad. Next, you pay your bill, and the pricing is a little more than I expected, but it seems that nearly everyone knows about the email program, which comes with monthly coupons. Next, you find your seat and baroque music pays as you walk past a soup bar, potato bar, pizza and bread bar, ice cream sundae bar and a bar of entrees, like macaroni and cheese. I try to just focus on the prepared salads, which are my favorite, but the other stuff, like warm bran muffins, and parmesan bread sticks make it to my plate. Darn those carbs!

It took a while to convince me to go to Sweet Tomatoes, but it is great food if you are in the mood for a good Salad and Soup! Plus, the kids love it too! You can make your own salad in the large salad line, which is great, but I have learned that I love the Asian Salad, so I just load up on that and then grab some veggies down the line. Need to save room for the Soup. Some are staples, most of them rotate by season. Some of the Seasonal rotations which I love include: Crazy Mexican Meatball Soup, US Senate Bean Soup (so good for such a simple soup), Shepherd's pie soup......They have good Chili too, and I believe offer up 3 types of Chili sometime in the Winter. They try to sell you Chicken as an extra to your salad - don't do it, there are plenty of premade salads that have meat which are not extra charge. Plus, the drinks have free refills, so DO NOT buy the slightly larger cup for an extra couple of bucks.

Why oh why did you not build a little further west? This is the least successful Sweet Tomatoes I have ever seen! If you would have built it in Gurnee, there would have been lines at dinner like other locations! But I'm am not really complaining about the lack of crowds when we are there... Love the new snickerdoodle cookies! This has the best buffet layout of the other locations in Chicagoland...never too crowded in the open space. You can eat as healthy or as unhealthy as you want. Kudos to the new whole grain pasta dishes too! Get on the email list for coupons every Thursday....dinner for 4 with drinks for about $27.

Wow this place was great! This was our first time at a Sweet Tomatoes, and I have to say we were impressed! My husband and I both really liked the large selection of salads, and was excited it was all you can eat. The soup was pretty good too, but the salads were amazing. Really a large variety of choices and not your average boring salad bar fare, either. The salads were interesting and unique, and tasted really good too. They also had some breads, pizza-like bread sticks, and about 3 pasta dishes too, along with various muffins and cornbread. I also liked their dessert bar, and we really enjoyed the chocolate brownie muffins and the lemon mousse. We will definitely go back here, great place for lunch, and they also give a 10% military discount...yes!!

You have to love this place -- the salad bar is quite impressive with lots of veggies and toppings, a variety of dressings, and even some pre-made salads (the Caesar is my favorite, closely followed by the Asian Wonton Happiness). The soup offerings are wonderful -- a variety of cream-based and broth-based options, some with fun add-ins (cream of turkey with fresh stuffing is a fun seasonal option). The rest of the offerings are good, though not quite as impressive. The mac and cheese appears to be from the blue box. Other pasta dishes are a bit better and more robust. The foccacia is tasty. The homemade caramel sauce on the dessert bar shouldn't be missed. It's perfect with the vanilla soft serve. Look for coupons in that weekly circular that comes to your mailbox on Wednesdays. :)

Great. fresh. food. Salad bar is aweSome! Soups and breads are delicious. We would come here every single day if we lived closer. This location, however, seemed to be slightly better than other locations we've been to. Worth checking out if you've never been!
It's just what you want, especially in summer. The ingredients are fresh, new stuff all the time, great assortment of soups. Throw in baked potato bar and make-your-own sundae, and there is nothing lacking. The service (picking up plates, making sure everything is Okay) is very good. The staff are very friendly and warm and inviting. Every visit I have had finds the whole restaurant clean, neat and comfortable. A real pleasure when you crave a salad you can make for yourself.

I have been to other Sweet Tomatoes before coming to this one and thank goodness for that. This is a joke. The salad bar was normal but the rest is woefully lacking. Dried up pasta. Chicken noodle soup that was nothing more than weak broth with a couple chunks of chicken and half-hearted attempt at noodles. I don't know if this is due to location or management. I am sorely disappointed in this location, it is not what I have come to expect of this brand. I won't be back.

Been here a few times now and every time friendly staff! Great soups, pasta, and salad buffet choices to choose from! Their rolls and muffins are delicious as well. They have bite size pizza, mac and cheese, bake potato and their food highlights such as lemon cookies, pasta with lemon, a soup that had lemon in it. They also have a little dessert bar with ice cream, toppings, brownie muffin, brownie cake, and as well as fruit and tapioca. Overall a nice healthy and filling way to have a meal here!

This place has something for everyone! great layout, large clean dining area, decent bathrooms. There's ALWAYS coupons available online so make sure to google them before you go!!

This is my third time at a Sweet Tomatoes and this is the only location I've ever visited. I enjoy it and the food always seems good but all three times in three months they have the same food options. I'd like to see a variety or maybe am entrée type food like a meet such as ham or turkey. With salads, soups and pastas these all seem like side dishes to me and while all good I feel the main dish is missing and they need something more substantial.

Great fanfare and pleasant dining experience. First time here and will genuinely say all the food was extremely tasty. Waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and treated us well.

As you can tell by the 6 photos I've added. I am never disappointed in this restaurant. Amazing selection and variety, but even better taste and quality. No words can describe how amazing this place is. :-)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I eat here at least once a week. Great selection of fresh salad ingredients and soups. The tomato soup is to die for!!! Every employee is exceptionally friendly and goes out of their way to smile or say hello! I am trying to eat healthier, so it really helps that the calorie count is displayed on the signs. This place has something for everyone! great layout, large clean dining area, decent bathrooms. There's ALWAYS coupons available online so make sure to google them before you go!! Keep up the good work guys!!
