When Gurnee Donuts was closed, I was still determined to find local donuts. It was easy to find and, humorously, right next next to a Dunkin' Donuts. The inside of the store was as old and sad looking in appearance as the donuts were delicious. Everything was affordable and the service was really fast. Between here and Gurnee Donuts it's a toss up. Each has its perks but both are equally as tasty.

Just ordered a dozen donuts and they were all amazing! Fresh, soft, the icing was delicious, especially the maple. It was insanely cheap too - $8.50 or something for a dozen. I will definitely be coming back.

We went to the bakery today and am not sure if we will eat what we bought. As soon as we entered, there was a strong mildew smell. The place is beyond a dump. Hard to belive the health department does not take action. The food may be good but the thought of what the kitchen may look like will probably turn people off.

Nicest bakery in town! I was visiting Waukegan for a Naval graduation ceremony. I wanted a custom cake for my sailor. I called around several bakeries, and no one was accommodating....until I found O'Brothers Bakery. I spoke to Ricky and told him what I wanted. I emailed him my design and he went over & above to get the job done. The cake was spectacular and tasted so good. My sailor LOVED it. I'm pretty sure it's family owned, nothing glamorous on the outside, but service and taste was impeccable. I have to mention that Ricky allowed me to pick up the cake after hours, because my flight to Chicago was delayed and we got into town after the shop had closed. Be sure to visit this bakery.

Stopped here at 10AM on Sunday morning after reading other reviews. It was just ok. The inside leaves much to be desired (which doesn't necessarily bother me if the donuts are amazing). They have basic coffee set up on a folding table (nothing more for hot drinks). The donuts were variable-- the custard filled and apple fritter tasted good and fresh but the cake donuts with frosting tasted "meh". The prices were exactly the same as Dunkin' Donuts. We will be continuing our search for the best local donuts... this place was ok but I think we can do better.

I was searching for a local, non-chain bakery to make a cake for my wedding rehearsal dinner. I wanted a grooms cake for my (now) husband that was shaped like a fire helmet. I took in some pictures and described what i'd like. Not only was my cake made to perfection, but this was probably the best-tasting cake I've ever had! And I don't even like cake! You cannot go in this place without being tempted by the other treats too. We ended up going multiple times and leaving with multiple coffee cakes and donuts. My family from out of town even stopped to stock up before they left. They provide incredible, home-cooked, high quality baked goods, and the prices are MORE than reasonable. Get there early though, because I'm obviously not the only one who knows, and they run out of the best treats early. Give them a shot, it's worth it!
