Great thin crust pizza, best in the area for sure. Call ahead take out is great, but if you decide to stay expect a hole in the wall place with old booths and a bar in the back. It's also cash only. The pizza is amazing though, definitely try it!

It's not a traditional pizza place. You walk in, order, and seat yourself in a small dining area that has about 10 tables. The thin crust pizza has the perfect ratio of sauce, cheese and toppings. I have never been disappointed by them. The service can be a bit abrasive, but I think that's the style they're going for. They are extremely busy on Friday nights so I would recommend ordering ahead of time.

    Damn this pizza's good.

Superb Pizza! They know what they do and they do it right. Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary. Simple, traditional pizza ingredients done fabulously! No sides, aps, salads, or frills so you may want to keep to a quick pick-up or simple lunch but trying an Al's Pizza is an absolute must! The service and price is perfect but may not be the best sit down place for kids and no credit cards taken.

What a find! Talk about some good thin crust pizza. I get a little nervous every time I suggest trying a new pizza place to my wife because I end up being held responsible for the outcome whether it's a hit or miss. Al's was a home run. We've dined here several times, and each time it's better than I remember it being the last time. I highly recommend the sausage topping. The location is a bit odd and kind of makes you forget that you're actually in Chicagoland, but that only adds to the charm of this place. I almost prefer getting takeout because I kind of have a tendency to burn my mouth when dining in because I can't resist taking a bite as soon as the pizza comes out of the oven. Don't forget to bring cash!

  • Nancy H.

This pizza is da bomb! Crisp thin crust, delicious cheese and generous toppings. The guys there know what they're doing and they do it well. Carry out or eat in at the Towne Tap next door. BEWARE if you eat in on Fridays-the owner will not hesitate to call you out if you DARE sit at a fish fry table so get there early or late on Friday or carry out because it gets pretty crowded.

Best thin pizza in the area! If you want thin, this is the place to order from. Dine in and carry out only, as well as cash only. Staff is really funny as well! I can't wait to make it back! Connected to the Towne Tap bar, which is the local Warrenville watering hole! In the battle of Al vs. Arnie, I don't know who I would choose! Both very good Warrenville local joints!!!

Ordered a to go half cheese and half pepperoni and bacon. I was expecting more after all the reviews, but still very good thin crust. The only thing I could complain about is the fact the crust was flimsy and the bacon undercooked. As far as best in the area, it depends on what you consider the area to be. Ach n Lous in Aurora has the same taste with a more crisp crust. I must say though, even with the bacon being undercooked, the fact they used real strips instead of crumbled bits will insure I try this place again.

Shut your mouth....if you haven't been here - get here. There is nothing like down home great pizza. The "rural' feel is a great escape from chain-restaurants. If you could close your eyes and open them up at Al's...you'd swear you're somewhere else. Mom and the boys - treat you well - with respect and make you feel at home. The get your own place settings and pick from the fridge beverages are old school - this even includes the cash only policy! I wouldn't have it any other way. The bar next door offers a friendly place to grab the adult beverage but don't miss out on dinner in the back room. Just feels like I'm family....

Best pizza around, I drive out from Carol Stream. I like getting there 10 minutes before my pizza is done so I can grab a beer at the bar next door. If you want they will serve you your pizza in the bar. Great home town hole in the wall pizza.

When Christoper Columbo sailed his Pontiac Mayflour into Warrenville Rock in 1492, some dude named Al jumped out and immediately noticed there were no good pizza joints in the area. The following day he salvaged all the spilt May Flour and opened Al's Pizza. The pizza was the best in the land. I just had some for the first time in about 20 years and it is beyond awesome, being thin enough, tasty enough, and dog gone it, people like it. Highly recommend

Very rude ignorant staff who doesn't understand customer service. First time visitor. Maybe you should tell your customer its cash only. Response: Do you expect us to tell everyone who's calls its cash only? We've been open for 56 years. You should of visited our website... When a caller asks if you offer apps it should be clear they have never been to your establishment. The cashier and a very rude gentlemen who was making the pizza's made this experience horrible. When you treat your customer like that , you can have the best pizza in the world but will always be a hole in the wall because you don't know the basics of running a business. Shame on you Al's Pizza. You lost a new neighbor.

Tried Al's Pizza for the first time tonight and I am one happy customer. I love love love their mushroom pizza. Cannot say it is the quickest or cheapest pizza around but this will not prevent me from ordering in the future - pizza was great! Definitely try it out.

It's not everyday that I'm impressed by a pizza, but Al's pizza made its way to the top of my list. We ordered a 16" peperoni and jalapeno pizza for dinner and it was delicious. The crust was nice and thin and the sauce was awesome! It was loaded with cheese making the pizza quite greasy, but that's how I like it. There's a bar next door that you can enter via doorway from Al's Pizza. If you want to grab some drinks with dinner, Al's will bring your pizza next door for you. How convenient! The people working here were nice and friendly. There's a $5 off $20 coupon on their website that you can print out, making it a great deal! alspizzainc.com/Menu.php Plenty of parking all around the restaurant, especially with the huge lot in the back. CASH ONLY!!

We just LOVE this place. The pizza is the BEST. We love to head there on a friday night, the staff has been there for years. It is like a little blast from the past. They have an honor system for the canned beverages, a juke box and a brightly lit seating area. (within Al's) We usually order and then sit in the Town Tap. It reminds us of a little Wisconsin bar. This restaurant has been a Warrenville staple for so many years. They take cash only but there is an atm conveniently located. It is really a throw back and we LOVE that about Al's! Order the Sausage and Mushroom and it won't disappoint! BEST in the west!

If you've read my other reviews on local pizza establishments, you know the drill. I can't find great pizza in the burbs. I'm trying. I'm not insanely picky. I've found good ones on the way, but I'm not there yet. However, after trying Al's Pizza last weekend, I'm getting closer. I saw the amazing reviews and was intrigued. It didn't event bother me that the place is cash only and mildly resembles a shanty. I wanted good pizza, and I wanted it now. So we ordered a large cheese and sausage and headed over to pick it up. The pizza smelled amazing and the whole ride home was a struggle not to tear into the box. When we opened up the pizza, I was impressed. Sure, it's cut into squares (WHYYYY) and maybe not as cheesy as I'd like, but it looked good. When we sampled it, I was even more impressed! The sausage is high quality and plentiful, and the crust had a nice crispness. The sauce is extraordinarily robustly flavored and sort of drowns out the cheese and toppings, but it, too, tasted fresh. Husband devoured his share, and we had definitely some left over. Is it the best pizza I've ever had? Nah. Is it probably the best pizza I've had to date in this area? Sure is. And until I can find a place that makes enormous, cheesy, triangular, foldable slices of delicious, perfect, pizza, I'm going to return to Al's for more.

  • Patrick T.

Al's Pizza does not screw around. The crust is the perfect chewy-crispy and ever so slightly soggy in the center. They'll load it down and then some, with super fresh toppings that seem above par for this style pizza joint. Seriously, they're using high end quality meats and cheeses, and fresh chopped veggies. PS - it's worth the wait.

  • Shannon M.

Wouldn't have found Al's if I hadn't gone to an event at the adjoining bar (Towne Tap), but I am glad I did! Yummy thin crust with a lot of flavor (and I'm intrigued by the fact that they offer shrimp as a topping option?) Seating area is small but it seems that a lot of people order and then bring it to the bar (they will even come over and call you to say it's ready). I did like in Al's seating space that there's a sign saying that children must be seated and supervised by a parent. The space is not big enough to bear hyper, ill-restrained kids. Oh, btw, CASH ONLY!! Overall, whether you take it to go or eat it there, Al's Pizza is A-1!

  • Justin V.

Pure awesome. For some reasons I was not eating this pizza everyday of my life. The Al is the way forward. I would get it well done but that's my preference. Grab a beer next door and relax in beautiful Warrenville.

Went there with family last night. Had 16 inch pepperoni and Italian sausage and also 16 inch pineapple and Canadian bacon pizzas. Outstanding on both. Plenty of toppings, sauce and cheese. Good pizza.

Everyone was right, this place is GREAT. Huge fresh cut veggies, house made sausage, and perfect sauce. Worth the visit to the atm to get the cash!!

BEST.PIZZA.EVER!!!!!!!!! Delicious thin crust, so crispy and flaky with the most generous amount of toppings you will ever get! Best atmosphere, tons of fun and connected to a bar?!!! Hello, best of both worlds! I love Al's Pizza! and the owner Lynn is amazing :)

  • Joe E.

I'm one of those guys who loves to eat pizza with a knife and fork. That being said, Al's does thin pizza right! I love how this is the town tap. Love hole in the wall places like this. This is definitely a top thin crust option in the area for me!

  • Caron C.

Simple, delicious thin crust pizza. Nothing fancy, especially regarding the small dining area, but always the best! Call ahead by 20 minutes or so on Friday or Saturday and get a jump on the throngs. There is a bar next door, and you can have your pie "delivered" there if all the tables are full at Al's. Reasonable, delicious, abundant toppings and NEVER greasy! I think I will head there again this weekend! YUMMMMM!!!

  • Eduardo C.

Tried Al's special with cheese, sausage, green peppers, and olives. The pizza joint was pretty busy at 6:00, I should've called ahead to avoid the 35 minute wait, but the time estimate was dead on. The dudes working here were pretty cool, and really care about their establishment. They only accept cash, so you'll have to use an atm machine in the bar it's connected to if you only brought plastic. Now on to the pizza. The biggest stand out from the ingredients was the sauce. The acidity level was perfect for this type of pizza and is really what separated it from others. The taste and texture of this pizza resembles a good homemade pie, but other than that I expected a bit more considering the other high ratings and somewhat pricy pizzas for the size. A few have claimed it's the best pizza in Chicago, I'd have to disagree with that bold statement. I thought the toppings were pretty average, although the green olives were a good choice and the rolled sausage wasn't bad. That being said, it's a nice homemade style change up from other pizza establishments, just not top ranked quality like others have claimed.

Came here with a couple friends after work and I was impressed. Dining situation is a little unusual in that you have to get your plates and napkins, but I have no complaints and yes...The Towne is in the same building! All this place is offers is thin crust pizza, but an EXCELLENT thin crust pizza. Heavy on cheese, sauce and toppings and all quality. They only take cash, but definitely worth it!

    (5)
  • Reno P.

Consistently the best pizza around. It's cash only but thats ok. This place is a gem. And it's located in a tap house so you can enjoy a cold beer and watch the hawks, bulls, bears, or white sox( boo cubs) while you have your pie.

    (5)
  • John C.

The pizza was amazing. That's all that really needs to be said. The restaurant shares a building with a bar and I'm fairly positive that they are collectively owned, but I didn't enter the bar so I'm not sure. They did however serve pizza to people in there. I sat in the public dining area and while it's not the nicest place, the pizza is well worth it. You order at the counter (and warning CASH ONLY) and they bring the pizza out to you. The staff working the kitchen didn't seem the friendliest to newcomers at first, but when we payed they were awesome and even gave us coupons telling us to come back. Don't let the looks of the place deter you, the pizza is completely worth it.

This is one of those experiences where you feel like you really shouldn't be giving them a five star... but you sit and ponder, and try to find a reason to dock a star... and really, there isn't one! 1. The thin crust pizza is very good. Did you grow up on Totino's? It's like a gourmet crust version of Totino's! Crispy thin, but better flavor! 2. The toppings are fresh and delicious. From the tasty and generous cheese, to the mushrooms, to the rolled sausage... it was all given in generous portions and tasted great! 3. The staff were amazingly friendly, even in the midst of a rush of pizza orders. After reading a few Yelp reviews about bad service, we prepared for a "pizza nazi" kind of moment... but they joked around with us, talked about how long they've been open, and were just good down to earth neighborly folks. Verdict: Great pizza that's been open since 1959... it definitely feels like on of those "everybody knows your name" local places, but as two newbies, we really enjoyed the excellent pizza and superb service. Looking forward to going back!

If you want pizza, this is where you should come. If you want something else, go next door. Seriously. This is a *pizza* place. And that is it. Order your pizza at the bar at the front. They don't have a million toppings but they have the things you need - pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and onion. That is really all you need. Go sit down and then wait. If you're smart, you can call ahead so you can skip the waiting part. Anyway, the crust on this pizza is thin but not too thin and just right crispy. An excellent amount of cheese and the right amount of toppings. The sauce is tomato-y without being too acidic or too sweet - it's probably my favorite pizza sauce pretty much anywhere. It's not a high service place - you grab your own drink and then the server will just bring your pizza out and if you need something else, you go back to the bar for it. But it works well. It's cash only so keep that in mind. It's also pretty small and the hours can be kind of odd but it is well, well worth it.

I grew up on this stuff. I live in California now. Decades have passed, and I still haven't found a pizza as good as Al's. When I was a kid, Al's used to deliver. One time someone played a practical joke on our family by ordering a pizza. When the delivery guy showed up at our door, we were happy to see him, paid for it, tipped him, and dug right in!

My Wife and I were traveling and read the reviews about Al's Pizza. They were dead on. We walked in and were greeted by the guys working. You can see everything that is going on. Leo was the front guy and he was amazing. We were taking it all in when a guy walks in with his young daughter. We told them to go ahead of us. Leo called the little girl by name and she gave him a high five. Leo said "You guys want the 12" cheese?" The guy said that they did indeed. Another guy comes in to pick up an order and sure enough Leo called him by name. The guy picked up his order and we were ready to place our order. We got the Al special 12" for the two of us. The pop and bottled water are self serve and on the honor system. You keep track of what you drink and pay when you leave. The pizza was piping hot when it arrived to us by Leo. He advised us to be careful that it was very hot. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. When we left we were given a coupon for a free 12" cheese pizza with the purchase of a 14". We were leaving town the next day so we passed it along to the hotel staff. This place is so laid back and friendly that I felt like I was at a friends house eating dinner. This is a must stop at place.

Great pizza, incredible even, but, the bar staff was quite vulgar. I would really enjoy a meal without so many H-bombs and dangits thrown around.

I completely agree with the comment that 5 stars doesn't seem to be enough. This is my all time favorite pizza, only wished I lived closer, so I could come more often. Friendly, family run business, totally worth checking out!

  • Law Man L.

I have been looking for real pizza since moving here from NY. And finally found this place. Great thin crust, great taste, and happy to pie cut it for us. And the people were great too. This place is the real deal. And the folks at the Towne Tap next for were great too.

  • Gonzo G.

Rating: 4.7 Short description: Tiny pizza shop Similar to: My wife's pizza? It's so small Pluses: Amazing thin crust pizza, lots of toppings, perfectly cooked, and you get it hot in the restaurant or the bar next door. Negatives: Goofy hours, goofy requirements, cash only, but so worth it. Recommendations: They have really goofy hours, and sometimes make you take your pizza next door to the bar, but it's totally worth the effort. Get a straight sausage and onion pizza!

Can a grown man who is heterosexual use words like "yummy" and "tasty" and make up words like "supercrunchious"? This man can. And does to describe the texture of the crust at Al's Pizza and the outstanding toppings and taste of this luscious pie! Outstanding. And it is even better when eating an Al's pizza at the little dive bar next door while sucking down some cold suds watching sports and listening to some tunes from the jukebox pipe through the dive bar speakers that work when they wanna. Gimme more!

Al's Pizza hasn't changed in 20+ years. If you like greasy, thin crust pizza you want to go to Al's. DELICIOUS! Small eating area that has expanded into the former barber shop in front of building. If you want a barley beverage there is an interconnecting tavern next door or you can eat in the bar too. The pizza is just as good today as it was 20 years ago. Only negative is that they don't accept credit cards so bring cash if you want to eat there.

    (5)
  • Sean M.

Hands down some of the best thin crust pizza in the Chicago area. Compares to aurelios in flavor. Very rustic dining area, hasnt changed in the 25 years I've been coming. Cash only, fine in our carry out.

  • Brian H.

Fantastic Pizza! I moved to the area a few months ago and haven't gone anywhere else for pizza!

  • Spring B.

Best thin crust pizza around! We went there after reading reviews on Yelp and have returned several more times. It is an experience to eat there. Kind of a throwback to an earlier time. Cash only (although they do have an ATM next door at the bar). It seems that most of the customers know the staff and each other. But, for newbies, everyone was very friendly and helpful. And did I mention that the pizza was fantastic!?!

    (5)
  • Tim H.

Didn't you see, cash only. We don't want to stand around for five minutes while you explain why they should take your check. lol I should know better than try and sneak a piece on the way home. I hate burning the roof of my mouth... But the wonderful waft of delicious pie got the best of me.

    (5)
  • Kyle F.

Great pizza for carry out. Definitely one of our favorite thin crust pizzas in the area.

    (5)
  • Dman W.

Great pizza but a bit pricy. Be sure to order by inch size 10", 12", 14" or 16". For some reason they don't like the terms small, medium, large and XL and they get snippy when you use them.

    (4)
  • Curtis M.

How does one describe excellence? It's simple really: Als Pizza! Seriously though, I drive 18 miles to Warenville to get this pizza. I have never had a bad experience. The best thin crust pizza I have ever had.

My step brother Dale is from Naperville high school and loves Al`s Pizza . So he told me to go since im in chi town . Best Pizza ive ever had , I only had credit cards and Al still trusted me enough to sent check . OMG . What a great experience and pizzaaaaa Best regards Brennan

  • Patrick D.

Yes! This place is the real deal. The location is odd, the restaurant itself is confusing (one door is for the pizzeria the other is for the bar - they seem to be two separate businesses). But the cash-only thin crust pizza is perfection! The pepperoni is better than the sausage, comparatively, but they also have green olives...possibly the world's greatest pizza topping. I would compare this place to Rosati's. Similar in concept and look to their thin crust. But better in every way. I love me some Rosati's, but Al's is the winner! I typically eat 5-6 of their small cut pieces on my way home with take-out. It's too good to wait. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. But bring cash - any restaurant that is cash only and still in business is likely a winner in my book. Tasty enough that they can call the shots on that one.

    (5)
  • S L.

Pizza is amazing! Sauce is great but the staff here is pretty bad. These guys like to make inappropriate comments when they think nobody is listening. Probably related to the owners

    (4)
  • Vladimir K.

The pizza here was pretty good but the dude who took our order copped a major jerk attitude and didn't make us feel very welcome. Like us ordering a pizza was somehow a major inconvenience. Yeah, I'll take my money elsewhere next time. Seems like the type of place that doesn't give a shit if they keep your business or not. Fuck you Al!

  • Margie K.

My husband and I love Al's! The pizza is consistently amazing and is the best thin crust pizza around, period We fancy ourselves as thin crust pizza connoisseurs and have found that if you ask for them to cook it well done, it gives it that extra bit of crispiness without burning it. As others have said, they accept cash only at Al's as well as the adjoining Towne Tap (although Towne Tap has an ATM if you're low on cash). There is ample seating at Al's but we like to have the boys from Al's bring our pizzas to Towne Tap. Yum.

Can't add much more to the other stellar reviews. But possibly the best thin crunch in the 'land. Cheesy! Crunchy! Great sauce and sausage. Bring cash and an appetite!

  • Krysta F.

I grew up in WeGo, so when I moved to Warrenville, I knew nothing of this place. I sure was missing out. Even if it wasn't insanely close to my home, I would still go out of my way to get it. It must be the sauce. They always get it right, and pie cut on request which I love. Sausage and mushroom pizza with extra sauce is a must! Plus, the bar next door sells beer so you can grab a beer while you wait (if you don't pick up), grab a six pack to go, and take your pizza and have a fantastic night! No delivery, but I'm okay with that since delivery men can ruin a pizza experience fast. Love love love Al's.

  • Sharon M.

We have been driving by this little pizza place forever & finally went in. Best thin crust I've had in a long time! Cash only, get-your-own-can-of-pop out of the fridge or a beer @ the bar next door. Get it to go, though. MAJOR attitude by the woman who seems to run things. She wasn't very friendly & didn't make a good impression for our first time there! I definitely think this will be our go-to place for pizza from now on. Very reasonably priced too. YUM!

  • robert m.

Finally made it too Al's last night. Fantastic pizza! Best in the burbs IMHO. We had two pizzas. One half cheese/half pepperoni the other Itl Sausage, Mushroom, and Pepperoni. The toppings were of excellent quality and in huge quantity. The bast part of this pizza though is the crust! Finally, a decent thin crust in the burbs! The staff / service was fantastic! It was more like what you would get in a small town pizzeria. This is now our default Pizza Joint. Note - Cash Only!!!!

  • Troy V.

OK, I am a Warrenville guy! But thin crust pizza is my thing. Their double crust pizza is a nice change of pace. Even the Hawaiian pizza is real good. It was My buddy Jeff that got me eating it. Yeah, I did call him a couple of name's. 1/2 pizza sauce and 1/2 barbecue sauce, is what makes it work. Oh, and do not bring your credit card. It's cash only BuB.

  • Tina F.

Best pizza in the area. Great crust, delicious slightly spicy sauce. We got half green peppers and half cheese for our preschooler and I think the cheese pieces were better. Green peppers were a little overcooked. Besides that, no complaints. Delicious thin crust pizza. Try it! You will be glad you did.

Al's is one of those pizza places that has been around for a long time. And after you have their pizza you will know why. Really great tasting, well made pizza. We ordered a large saugage and onion pizza and were so impressed by how good it was! They accept cash or checks so don't forget your checkbook. The staff was really friendly in this humble mom and pop restaurant. I remember that this place was there 25 years ago, so they have some history to them. But I hope they don't change a thing. In this day and age of nationwide bland pizza places and California Pizza's overpriced, undersized fare, it is so refreshing to find a place like Al's. And now that my kids are taking classes across the street at Clay Space, we plan on having a lot of Al's pizza! Keep up the great work, Al's!

  • Renee B.

Good pizza but don't go on Friday. We made the mistake of sitting on the bar side during the Friday night fish fry and was SEVERELY scolded by the woman batendered for about five minutes on why we can't sit there.

They are undoubtedly the "soup Nazis" of pizza. Unfriendly as all hell. But the pizza is just perfect. 5-stars and FWIW the best restaurant in Warrenville. Cash only!

  • John S.

The best pizza in warrenvile. But a piece of advise is this is a small town pizza place, know what you want before you try to order. Very much a townie restaurant.

Great thin crust pizza. Great little pizza joint connected to the Towne Tap bar.

    (4)
  • Marla F.

First I must confess...I grew up on Al's pizza. Perfect thin crust and traditional toppings. The sauce and cheese they use are out of this world. This is a family run business for two generations. It proves that if it ain't broke...don't fix it. There is seating available or you can sit in the Towne Tap (connected) and they will bring it to you. Be aware though that it is cash (or local checks) only. No plastic accepted. A must for those that love good old fashioned pizza.

    (5)
  • Maya Y.

Pizza is the best thin crust i ever had. Perfect ratio between cheese, sauce and crust. Only negative that it is cash only establishment and a bit pricey for pizza. Mmmmmmm, mmmmm good.

Yes, yes, yes! Hands down. The BEST Pizza I have and most likely will ever have. I've grown up with this, and it's a shame that I no longer live around here. I to this day crave Al's Pizza at the very least once every three days. I come back as often as I can just for this great pizza. Yes, yes, yes!

Love this pizza! If your looking for pie that is sliced into squares and tastes awesome,.. you've found the place! We have only done take out. Cash only but I noticed someone posted they take checks too. I will inquire since I always forget to take cash out and then have to run across the street. The parking lot is small and gets packed so plan to not make a quick run in unless someone waits in the car. Crust is tasty and sauce has a good blend of spices to make a good thin crust. They do close early so no late night pizza cravings.

My husband and I are new to the area and happened to stumble into Al's Pizza! What a wonderful surprise - this place is great! It's yummy thin crust pizza. And it's even attached to the Town Tap. So grab a pizza at Al's and then go for a drink at the tap!

Gosh are you kidding me??? THis place has the BEST pizza in the area, and Gino's East in Wheaton (a Chicago pizza place) does not hold a candle to it. All you can get is pizza, you have to get up and go to the bar that is attached to get your drink (which is fine w/me!) I love these campy places.

Al's was recommend by the employees at the company I work for. They love it. But for me this place will make your stomach crawl and give you heartburn..Al's is not for me.

If it ain't broken don't fix it. Al's pizza looks like it has been doing pizza and beer for a long time. It also looks like Al's has been doing the exact same way for a long time. No matter, it had a very homey feel to it. Also did a mention the pizza was uber uber good. I have just moved to the area and have visited Al's twice in one weekend. The pizza is just so addicting. YUM YUM!!!

killer, steller, amazing. This is by far the best pizza I have had in my entire life time.....only the thin crust though. I live in the city so rarely get this pizza since its in warrenville but dang, I feel like I'd make the trip any time of the week. The don't deliver, but really do they need to? I'd jump through catus to get to this thin crustidy goodness. My mom even loves it so much that she had me get her a pizza and fly with it to florida! oh Yeah, and shout out to Leo. My p's say you work here! I can't wait to say hi next time I'm in. I love you al's xoxo

I showed up at 12:33 pm and the guy told me he closes at 1:00PM (-1 star) and would not accomodate my party (2) for lunch. This was a big turn-off. My coworker felt it imperative that I taste this pizza and we return another day, so we did. I agree with a previous poster - Al's is the best in the area. Some would say the best in Chicago. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful. A very satisfying pizza experience. However, if Al's switched to Grande cheese, they would be a national landmark! Guess what? I know of a little place that uses Grande cheese; unfortunately they're not yet listed on Yelp (just give me a little while to get their info).

I can't believe no one has done a review of Al's yet. This is a great little pizza joint located off of Warrenville Rd (not too far from the Winfield/Warrenville Rds intersection). They have a great thin crust pizza and they seem to always be swamped with orders...each and every time I have gone in to pick up our order. They do not have a delivery service but that has never been a problem for us. They have a small dining area that many of the locals eat at -- especially on Friday nights. I believe that the tavern that Al's is connected to also has a fish fry on Friday nights. I give it 4 stars because it would be nice if they delivered -- we really don't have much in regards to places that deliver around here.

Absolutely, hands down, bar none the best thin crust pizza I have ever had in my life. Al's has been a Warrenville institution for more than 50 years. My dad worked here when he was a teenager in the 60's, I've been coming since I was a tot in the 80's. Nothing has changed with the inside of the restaurant and there's something comforting about that. Al's is absolutely no frills - just great pizza and nothing fancy. They use a cheese blend that gives an amazingly unique flavor, and their crust is razor thin, yet still manages to have a perfect crispy on the outside and soft in the middle texture. They only take cash or checks so don't come in with plastic. The staff is friendly and funny. The pizza is a little pricey - a 16" with a few toppings will run you upwards of $20, but it is worth every penny because it's so freakin' delicious. I love you Al's - you've never changed and I hope you never do!

Good thin crust pizza, even if it is full of grease. If you go in for a drink you are sure to run into a lot of locals from the area.

from the time i met my husband (1989)- a life long resident of warrenville he's been going on and on about al's pizza. we usually carry-out. it's like a cult in this small town. rightfully so-even tho we moved out of the area in 2001, and have tried MANY pizza places, al's remains the favorite!!!
