Visited 12/26/12. Had Chicken Parm with smashed potatoes, green beans and potato soup. Clay pot bread while food was being prepared. I would order same meal again! Chicken was lightly breaded and had great flavor. This was my first time there and menu looked good with a good selection for everyone. I was able to narrow it down to 3 items and decided on the chicken parm. Another reviwer mentioned over priced for sub par quality? I disagree but to each their own review. I will eat there again when in town.

Worth the trip from the highway. Quiet small place with fresh bread in flower pot for a unique twist and honor cooked flavor in the meals with fish and steak choices that are a refreshing alternative to the franchises by the highway.

Only one server working who left to do a delivery while also serving my table, seemed odd to me but maybe that's how it's done in Vandalia....I was there by myself and the server asked me twice what I was drinking and got my order incorrect (keep in mind she didn't write it down). The food was ok. I had their lunch special which was a chicken bacon ranch sandwich. It was an enormous piece of chicken one strip of bacon and I think there might have been a hint of ranch on the sandwich. One of the owners I am assuming was sitting at a table talking with some folks about the business and how she has let control of certain things, didn't seem like a conversation that should be happening during normal hours, while guests are there or in the main dining area. I would try something different next time I am in town. Not very impressed

We really enjoyed this restaurant!! It was so cute, very clean, excellent service, & delicious food. We were just passing thru town & so glad we stopped!! We had the chicken wrap & the salmon blt-both DELICIOUS
Food is over priced for sub par quality. Pretends to be upscale dining.

This place is a real treat. Good food, good service and an owner/chef who rally cares about his business and his customers. He serves fresh baked bread in a clay flower pot, a unique twist that keeps the bread more warm and moist than a bread basket. Ken, the owner, visited us at our table for some good discussion of his menu.

This place has odd hours. So if you catch em open you should go in. They are a little on the slow side but are still good eats. The chicken marsala is fantastic. Just about the only decent upscale place to eat in Vandalia anymore.

Had a great experience here last night. Visiting family in IL from CO. Saw reviews that this place had odd hours, so I called to see if they were open (keep in mind this was the day after Christmas). Got an answering machine that they open at 5. Called at 5, and made a reservation for 6pm for a party of 6, no problem. The menu was full of good choices, but everyone at my table got either chicken parm or chicken Marsala. Main dishes come with soup or salad and 2 additional sides, as well as fresh baked bread & butter. Prices very reasonable considering what all you get. I ordered a beer which came complete with a frosty mug. Plus!!!!! We ended up ordering bananas flambé and it was huge! 5 of us split it, and it was fantastic. We will return.
