We have come here for many years, and have tried many different things in the menu. We have yet to try something we didn't like. The service is always fantastic and friendly, and we so appreciate how attentive they are to our daughter when she's with us. It's such a family friendly place! Love that they support local craft breweries and appreciate the craft beer selection. Always a great experience at Ed & Joes!

Great pizza restaurant . Love how thin the pizza is. Delivery person is awesome always brings dog treats.

This place is actually pretty nasty. I've never had good service here, and the menu is lacking. Too many people go here just because they've been going here all their life. There are so many better pizza places in Tinley. Also, consider adding some vegetarian options other than pizza, and fix your A/C and heat.

My family ordered a pizza from Ed and Joes for delivery. We've been long time customers for at least 10 years. Imagine my horror when I found a cockroach under our pizza when I lifted a slice after we ate half the pizza. I drove to the restaurant and spoke with the owner. While she did refund our money, she was rude, argued with me that it wasn't a cockroach, and said that it happens, not much they can do. That is totally unacceptable!!! You had better believe that will be the last pizza we ever get from Ed and Joes.

Best thin crust. Love this pizza. You will be happy you came here. Veggie or sausage, doesn't matter. Delicious.

DISCLAIMER: This is only regarding their catering and based on my mom's experience. On Tuesday, mom came here for lunch with a group of coworkers and loved the food. This caused the suggestion of trying to get catering for a business luncheon for the next Tuesday. On Wednesday, she called to talk to someone about catering for the next week. They repeatedly told her that she would need to speak to a certain person regarding it. She was given an email address and wrote her the very same day. Having not heard back by Friday afternoon, mom decides to give them a call. The luncheon is four days away and she needs to know what is going on. The representative of the establishment informs her that Ed & Joes can't cater this small (read 15 people) luncheon for the upcoming Tuesday. Ok. That's fine. But would they have even called? It's Friday around 3:30 and she needs catering for Tuesday. Was she just supposed to ass-u-me a lack of response meant go elsewhere? Absolutely, horrible service.

I think this pizza is "just okay". There isn't any thing that distinguishes it from other pizza. It's glorified Pizza Hut or Papa John's. There's much better pizza places in the Tinley Park area.

The only reason this place is getting three stars is the food was good. The waitress made our experience terrible. When we first were approached by the waitress she never smiled. My fact she was a bit impatient with us since my dad is hard of hearing. My dad asked for coffee which took forever for her to bring & when she did bring it she didn't bring a spoon. In fact I had to go to get him a table setting. After a different waitress brought us our food she didn't check to see if we needed anything so I had to go to get my own mustard for my sandwich. When she was whipping past us to wait on other customers we asked for napkins and more coffee for my father. We received neither. I had to once again get us more napkins. By time I could flag her down for more coffee my dad had finished his meal. I still insisted on the coffee. I hope it wasn't our ethnicity that made her service subpar. I observed her giving a little better service at other tables. I accepted a rewards card just so I could comment on the service. I doubt she handed it in or if she did maybe she scratched out my comments. I hope her service improves.

My fam ordered pizza from here over the weekend, and I was pleased! I lived in Tinley Park for years, but don't recall ever having Ed & Joe's until my visit this weekend. I love thin crust pizza, and Ed & Joe's had some darn good thin crust. Service was good, arrived in a timely matter and such. See a lot of people complaining about service, but since I didn't actually eat there, I guess I wouldn't know. We ordered a pizza with spinach and garlic, eggplant rolls, and bruschetta. Was a little sad they didn't have garlic bread or cheesy bread, but what we got was good! Only complaint was that there were a couple pieces of pepperoni on our pizza. My brother and I are vegetarians so we had to avoid those pieces, but it was odd! The bruschetta and eggplant rolls were very good. I would get pizza from here again when I come back in town, food is great!

Nice little place in downtown Tinley. Quite a bit of tables to dine at and a small bar with some stools. A few tables outside which is good for nice days. I've only been here a few times for drinks and some pizza. The pizza is way too thin for my personal taste. It's not bad, but nothing to rave about. My mom really likes their taco pizza, but I've never tried it.

By far my favorite place to visiting in downtown Tinley. Great food and great service. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars as it does have a strange smell when you walk in and I think some updating of decor is due!

The best thin crust pizza in the Chicagoland area! Excellent food and friendly service and the bar pours a great black and tan! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves pizza!

I grew up on Ed & Joe's and honestly, it was a family favorite. That being said, in my adult life i go there maybe once a year... Why I'm finally writing a review? I literally just put my napkin down from eating a pepper and egg sandwich and the chef's feature fried pickle chips. This dinner was fantastic! As a non-meat-just-fish eater, lent is the best time for restaurants to have more of a selection for me. The sandwich was on garlic bread with melted american cheese on top of the pepper/egg combo. There were sliced pickles and home fries on the side. The fries were great too because they weren't typically crunchy, but soft. As for the pickle chips, they were huuuuge! I mean, toddler fist size! They are made with a homemade breading and a homemade ranch dressing. They really need to bottle that stuff! Don't get me wrong, last year my husband and i got the gulf shrimp pizza from there that we also thoroughly enjoyed. We've also had the cheese balls, taco pizza (when we ate meat), cheese pizza, pasta, and mozzarella sticks. These dishes were all good but this sandwich and pickle chips were so good i had to write a review. Definitely need to stop in more. For beer drinkers, they recently started dabbling in craft beers. Sign up for their emails for specials and events!

We just moved in around the corner from Ed & Joe's and I already LOVE this place! A GREAT space to watch Hawks games and enjoy a cold beer! The Pizza is great and the Wedge salad is one of my favorites too! I'll be back with more recommendations after we get all the way through the menu!

This was my first trek to Ed and Joe's in a long while. We had a party of nine people cuz family is in from out of town. I remember the taco pizza being very good. It did not disappoint. It was just as good as I remembered. The regular za was solid but I liked the taco za much more. My mom had a beef sandwich and she liked it as well. I had the house salad and it was good. We were eating a late lunch so it was not that crowded. The only thing stopping this from being a 5 star review was the service. Our server got everything right it was just a little slow.

This is another place where I can't understand how they are still in business and people give them a 4 or 5 star rating. The pizza isn't that good. Plain and simple. Much better pizza joints in the area. The service is just awful. Takes way to long to get a waitress and when you do they disappear and then you see them on their cell phone. Ticket times have got to be at lease 30 minutes behind. Trying to get a beverage is just as bad. Maybe a staple 10 or 15 years ago but certainly not one now.

This place makes an awesome pizza. The Frank Sinatra pizza is my favorite. I especially appreciate the selection of craft beers on tap. We had great service in a clean, pizzeriaesque environment. The huge windows bring in natural light and really open the place up. My only suggestion to management would be to turn down the live music. Though they do an excellent job posting live music dates on their website, it was something I was not expecting at a pizza place at 8:00. Again though, great pizza and beer!

Some of the best super thin crust in the Chicago area. Outside of Bill's Pub in Mundelein it doesn't get any better. Full service place with a full bar. Variety of food besides pizza as well. Fun outdoor porch during the nice weather too.

Rude & Unprofessional - re Catering Service only!! Spoke with Ellen re: renting a small party room on February 14. She said "THAT'S VALENTINES DAY!" Yes, in fact it is. "Well I don't think I want to rent that room out on Valentine's Day, we can use it for our overflow customers. We use that room for large tables or overflow on busy days. How large is your party?" I said it is about 25 to 30 people. She said " Well, we need at least 35 to rent that room and I don't think I want to rent that room to you on Valentine's Day!" Oh okay - RUDE - UNPROFESSIONAL ELLEN - I guess I will take my party to one of your competitors. Done with Ed and Joes!

Don't get the complaints about the service and the pizza pies, I've experienced nothing but awesome examples of both here. As a lover of thin crust pizza, theirs is among my absolute favorite. Everyone who works here is awesome too, service is great, especially by Emma. My buddies and I plan on being regulars.

Came here for my good friend's rehearsal dinner on a Thursday night and Ed & Joe's did an alright job for us. They have a room in back which comfortably fit our group of ~40 or so people. We had beer and wine included and they had it waiting for us as soon as we got there. The parking isn't the best, they don't really have a large enough lot of their own to fit everyone but you can usually find something nearby that isn't too far of a walk. We had a buffet set-up with really fresh and tasty salad along with a great variety of their pizzas. The Taco Pizza is AWESOME, I highly recommend this. I also really love the sauce on their stuffed pizza, it had a little spice to it and is just really, really tasty. Towards the middle of the meal and afterwards our waitress became somewhat scarce so it was hard to order a drink at that point, which was a little disappointing. Overall I think it was a good place to have a group gathering and I really enjoyed the pizza. For an added entertainment bonus they had open mic night after 8!

I have always like this place and their style of thin crust pizza. Their taco pizza is the best I've had anywhere, and I've had taco pizza at plenty of places. The food is always consistent along with the service. A word of caution for people who normally get bacon on their pizza. It is really smokey tasting and overpowers everything.

Good pizza! Good Scmod, cheese cubes, and salads. Wait staff is lacking in customer service...probably stems from the female owner. She has been very rude to my Mom. We go there because it's local and good pizza.

SCHMODS, taco pizza, & cheese cubes -- The very thought takes me back about 20 years to when I lived in Tinley & went there as a kid. I have since been back and it's like going home. Ed & Joes has a fan for life!

Whenever any of my friends drive in to visit me, they always want lunch to be at Ed & Joe's! The Taco Pizza is their favorite as well as one of mine. I've always had only great food here & I personally know the owners through our downtown business area. This family owned business also gives back to the community of Tinley Park in many ways. A great choice to have dinner or lunch!

I decided to try this place for lunch one day as it's right down the street from where I live. I believe in supporting local businesses and I love pizza so decided to mark this one off my list. I have no idea why people would get pizza from this place - the crust was so soggy it didn't even hold the toppings when you picked up a slice. Price of the pizza was way too high for what I got in return. Really disappointing. If you want a good pizza in this neighborhood, go around the corner.

I usually get a pizza to go if I'm in town to take to friends house or back to hotel....I have sat at the bar before to watch Bears game and chow down on the pizza......which is classic Chicago thin crust...I'm a simple eater and just like sausage on mine....it is FANTASTIC.....not too greasy. Family friendly joint.

Me and a few close friends came here last Wednesday for my birthday dinner. I've been here before and the pizza is always pretty good. Our waitress was wonderful, the "buy one, get one free" Wednesday is always a great deal, and at the time they had some STUD balloon artist making everything from dogs to princesses in dresses. Are there better pizza places out there? Sure, with that being said, this is pretty good as well. Go try it out and see for yourself...

VERY slow service! We sat at our table for at least 10 minutes before a server came to our table. Seven of us arrived at 6:00 pm and at 7:10 we still hadn't received our food. It wasn't busy, there were plenty of servers and we only ordered burgers. Food was okay, but I wouldn't go back.

If I could give them 3.5 star, I would. This is a nice, corner pizza joint that has live music on the weekends. There's a small bar you can sit at, decent amount of indoor seating and outdoor seating which is set up as if you were on a wooden front porch. Kinda cool. They are known for their thin crust pizza, which is good. Normally, I never had service problems here but did this past Saturday. Not sure if it was due to the holiday weekend but the place was not crowded and there were plenty of staff. Maybe I just got a bad server. The main reason I came here was to see a featured band, Moco Magana. They cancelled last minute but I figured I would still go and get a zaaa. We were seated right away but had to wait 15 minutes for someone to show up at our table. We placed our drink order, waited another 15 minutes for our drinks. Then waited about 20 minutes for the waitress to come back to take our order. She walked by and said, "Oh, I'll be back, I just need to drop this off at a table". We waited another 10 minutes. Ordered a SMALL cheese pizza, waited 40 minutes for that. Now mind you, this place was not packed at all. There were maybe 10 tables filled and about 4 servers. I would have given Ed & Joe's 4 or 5 stars if the service wasn't so slow. Again, maybe our server was new and I'd be willing to come back but please pick up the customer service end!

I have had many wonderful meals at Ed & Joe's! I love the Sinatra pizza, such great flavors! I also really love the eggplant rolls, delicious and surprisingly light. The salads are so good too. The wait staff is always so nice!

Ohh, Ed and Joe's. I love you. Their pizza is the best. Maybe 1/8" thick crust at most, and a very signature-tasting sauce. They just don't make it like this anywhere else in the world. Relatives from out of town, now living in the south, always make a stop in here because you just can't get E&J anywhere else. Also, the taco pizza is heavenly.

  • Robert C.

Pizza is very bland. I actually had to put salt on each slice that I ate just to get some flavor, and I am not a big fan of salt. Instead, order your pizza from other Tinley Park pizzeria, Little Joes.

We only tried out this place because I had purchased a Groupon or living social offer. I had the pizza and it is AWESOME!! If you love thin crust pizza this is the only place to go. I absolutely love it so much that I've never eaten anything else from there and we've been there many times. Once I like something, I stick with it. My husband loves this place too which is surprising because he doesn't get excited over food like me. He always get the burger and our daughter always gets the chicken nuggets.

I was trying to convert someone who loves Aurelios. Ed and Joes used to be a standard at our house, 10, 15 years ago. Then they stopped giving coupons, so we didn't go as often. Occasionally we would go cuz got the craving. But the last 2, 3 times, it's been awful. Don't know what they did with the recipe but it's not the same. And EXPENSIVE. So then, on to trying to convert the Aurelios lover. I picked up two Ed and Joes pizzas on Friday, September 23 - one sausage, one Sinatra. Ick, ick, ick. The sausage is completely different - crust is like cardboard and tasteless. Hardly no sauce was on it. We had to add sauce to make it edible. The Sinatra, the same. Dry, dry, crust like cardboard. And all this, for 47.00! Needless to say, I was laughed out of the Aurelios-lover's house - who after tasting the tasteless and blechy pizza, opted to make his own sandwich. He said a pizza from Little Cesars would have been better. What a disappointment and how embarrassing. I called and talked to Laura, to see what they would do about this, something to make it right. She said the manager or whoever would call me back the next day - Sunday, September 25. Never got a call back. No wonder the Mokena store closed, if they're serving junk like this. Ed and Joes is too big for their britches. Let them fail. Too many other good pizza places in the area.

We were wanting to try this place for some time. Well we decided today,a Sunday afternoon about 1:30. The place was about half full. We waited to be seated a minute or two as we watched several waitress walk by us. We then were greeted and seated and thats where the service ended. We checked out the menus that were on the table but no one came over. We waited and waited,I tried to make eye contact with the young man waiter to wave him over but he was clearly avoiding our table of 3. The waitesses which I saw at least 3 or 4 young ladies some dressed for halloween also seemed not interested in our table so we got up and left frustrated. As we left I told the young girl greeter we were leaving because no one was interested in taking our order. She didn't apologize or offer to get the manager she just kind of shrugged and said Oh. We went over to Olivers on 159th and had a great lunch with great service.

Terrible and cheaply made pizza. Extremely over priced. You can eat a large pizza and end up broke and still hungry. How are they still in business?

  • Tim Y.

Their BBQ chicken pizza is pretty decent. Nice thin trust, tangy sauce. Had it with pineapple and red onion. I'm not sure that I noticed any red onion at all. Also had the nachos as an appetizer. Tons of food, could serve as an entree on its own. The restaurant was pretty loud, even before the live band showed up. It was difficult to carry on a conversation, but the music was good. I'd go back.

Look no further for your pizza. The crust in thin but not greasy, always VERY tasty. Although I understand they're known for the taco pizza (I much prefer traditional cheese/meat pizzas) you can't do much better for the traditional pizzas!

Great thin crips crust pizza. Their pizza sizes run kinda small. Had a large, but it was more like a medium in other pizza places I have visited. Also, the pizza is kinda high, but I enjoyed it and would go back.

Really good thin pizza, but way over priced. $27.00 for a family cheese sausage, green pepper, mushroom??? WTF Beggar's or Nancy's is a much better bang for the buck.

Located on the main drag of Oak Park Avenue, it could be argued that Ed & Joes is the heart of Tinley Park. They participate heavily in all the local events, sponsoring the artist benches, the local teams, and the festivals. They try to spice things up now and then with things like "Trivia Night" and the place is usually pretty busy on weekends. The food is decent. I'm not a huge pizza fan (I know, pick your jaw up off the floor) but I like theirs. Their wait staff has been working there for years which tells me that they must be good to their employees. The layout of the place is a bit mixed. You walk into a bar area. Then there seem to be two dining areas, both facing Oak Park Avenue. They tend to accommodate the bigger crowds in the 2nd, smaller room. I find this makes it feel like we are having dinner in a real, family owned pizzeria.

Had lunch there yesterday with family. The ambiance was fine and the server was friendly and efficient. Sampled the Town Dock Calamari appetizer and was unimpressed. I've had lots better. The marinara sauce was watery and bland. It should come as no surprise that my food selection was a sandwich called The Godfather. It was Italian beef with melted mozzarella, Caesar dressing (why?), and bruschetta relish. It was served with a miniscule portion of pasta salad and I chose potato wedges. The wedges were decent. The Godfather was not. The meat seemed to be of good quality but the sandwich was without any real flavor. I could discern no herbs or spices in the sauce. Adding salt and grated cheese did nothing to improve the flavor. I left half the sandwich uneaten and, if you knew me, you would know that I rarely, very rarely, leave food uneaten. Now, I must see what I can do about taking my name off that awful sandwich. If you're calling a sandwich a Godfather, it had better be full of flavor, a delight to the senses, and leave you wanting more . . . just like me!! Ciao!!

We live near downtown Tinley and always see this place crowded. We decided to give it a try. We ordered bread sticks and the Putanesca pizza. We thought the server forgot about the bread sticks because it was taking so long. She eventually arrives with them, and claims the part of the kitchen making the bread sticks is going slow. However, the pizza kitchen is going fast. So our pizza will also be out in a minute. I hate when the appetizer and main dish arrive at the same time. When we get the pizza it was horrible. The menu claims that there is feta, mozzarella, garlic, and basil on the pizza. We could only taste the basil and crust. I don't know if they are trying to cut cost but there was hardly any cheese on this thing. My husband and I were able to finish a medium by ourselves which never happens. I was still hungry when I left because there was nothing on this pizza. This pizza should be listed under appetizers. When we were done the server wanted us to join the rewards program. She did give us a coupon for free bread sticks next time. However, I don't know if I will go back to this place. I was so disappointed.

my mother and father go here alot more than me. We went there i think 2 times for their anniversary in june so 2 years ago we sat outside and i loved it, also sat by the bar area which was nice but in the dinning area it gets way to jammed with tables to close to our table it is like you are eating with other families . but other wise i love their food. good bar atmosphere for a newly looking family owned pizza restaurant. I had my own apartment in tinley for 2.5 years and i loved every minute of the town.

Amazing. Best pizza EVER. I've been going here my whole life, literally. As far as prices-yeah the pizza is a bit expensive and worth every penny. I've had it shipped to Missouri(on dry ice, partially cooked), but it's better in person. Probably has to do with the wood ovens. Most recent visit in Feb 2011, and had the best tequila sunrise too:)

Went here first day I moved into town. The positives, location and atmosphere. The negatives - this place is so incredibly overpriced!!!! C'mon Ed...or Joe; get a grip. The service is also sometimes subpar. One time they made us wait by the bar for like 20 minutes when there were tons of open tables. I thought it was full as we waited but I was upset to find they probably either couldn't handle the crowd or wanted me to buy some beers while waiting. There are better places in Tinley for pizza for sure. I can't stress enough how expensive it is.

What are they thinking of putting deep dish pizza on the menu. This is pizza was beyond awful. It was bad enough that they wouldn't take our order for this pizza while we stood in line waiting for a seat. So an 1:15 later we got the worst flavorless deep dish pizza I have ever had. The crust will plain pizza dough and was very light in color and soft. Then on top of this They tried to screw us on our bucket of domestic beer special. This place is packed and I don't know why. There are many much better choices on oak park ave for food than this place.

I have to start by saying that, in terms of food, I can pretty much only rate this place on it's pizza. That being said, I think it's pizza is excellent. It's my S.O.'s favorite pizza place, and my family and I like it a lot also. They serve a very thin crust pizza. If you stick with the basics (like... not pineapple or bbq chicken and what not), it's great. I tried the bbq chicken pizza and wasn't really a fan of that. The appetizers are pretty typical. The breadsticks are good. They have an appetizer called smods that I really want to try but haven't yet. It sounds excellent. I've been here many times over the years and never had bad service. The only complaint I could have about the service is when I through a large party there. It wasn't horrible. But, it did take long to get some things, and you had to ask a few times (because they would forget) to get some things. Overall, i'd say it's an excellent pizza place if you're into the very thin crust pizza. It has a good atmosphere (noisy usually though), good service, and a nice location. At night, the often have some sort of live music or entertainment going on too in the bar area.

Nice folks & atmosphere, ok pizza, lackluster dinners. What I don't understand is why I see a taco pizza on practically everyone's table when I think it's total crap. It's got a mountain of garbage 2" thick on top of it. I guess the folks who think it's actually good have never had a meal outside of Tinley Park. Sorry folks, I think people need to learn less is more. If they could bump up the food a couple of notches, it would probably be my overall favorite place downtown. I do prefer Village Pizza or Palermos to Ed & Joes.
