Lunch combination for dinner can't be beat for $7.00 approx.

Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. food is always fresh and delicious! Very good proportions for the price. And the crab ragoons are the best around the south Chicagoland area.

Ok, I'm changing my review. It used to be very good. Something has happened and it's not good. My last order on 4/8/15 was the worst. The combo fried rice was old and dry. The lemon chicken was soggy. The egg foo young was burnt, even asking that they do not burn it beforehand. And I didn't get the free egg rolls after spending a certain amount because they don't offer this any longer. Why is it that some small business choose to scale down instead of scaling up their business? I guess they don't teach that in business school. Oh, I forgot. They didn't go to business school. People don't mind spending good money for good service and good products. I guess the bigger problem is that people also spend good money for bad product and service and don't complain enough. At the very least give me a choice. We deserve better. Demand it. I will not be ordering from here again. If you choose to delete this rating, so be it. As I said, it used to be good, but something has changed.

HOT ASS ASAIN WAITRESS..thats the only good thing i found..eggdrop soup-flavorless as the brown water they said was tea..egg roll was also lacking basic spices and to thick of a shell,sweet/sour chick was ok- sauce was actually very good but everything else was average(not good)but edible and cheap..BUT WAITRESS WAS NICE!

I've never had a bad meal here. I'm always looking for something on the menu I haven't tried so I can experience & savor new flavor combinations. Where else in Tinley Park can you get a decent combination plate for under $6 and not have it taste like the foam / wax container? Usually a very low noise level, easy to hold a conversation in. Soup and tea are always served hot. Plenty of sweet and sour sauce at the table - and not for 30 cents a packet like some other places.

Chen's was okay. I had big expectations based on the reviews. The portions were generous. Flavors were not special.

Started looking for a different Chinese place after the food quality at our regular joint dropped suddenly. Decided to try this place based on the nice-looking take-out menu I got in the mail. Food tastes fairly fresh, it's piping hot, and the price is good. Best crab rangoon I've ever had. Everything else I've had here is also tasty. Friendly service, good food. A new favorite. I think I'll go there now...

This is my new favorite Chinese food. Trust me, I've suffered through a few Chinese meals before finding this. I had almost thrown in the towel on finding a something comparable to Ling Lee's in Orland after it closed. I was at a dinner where they had quite a spread of Chen's including egg rolls, fried rice, beef and broccoli, orange chicken and a few other delights. I didn't try it all but everything I tried was really good. I've already been back and I Iiked the fact that when I went in to order, I had to wait (but not too long) which made me think things are prepared fresh rather than sitting around. Glad I was introduced to this place.

Wow! Now this is some good chinese food! I always order the lunch special which usually comes out $6 and fills you up!!! Lunch special consists of your choice of either white or chicken fried rice, an etree, and an eggroll. The fried rice is on point! I read some reviews from fellow yelpers saying the mongolian beef is really good! I ordered it and meh wasn't a huge fan. What I like is the orange chicken, general tso chicken, and beef and broccoli.

WOW! The food was delicious. Some of the best Chinese food my husband and I have had in awhile. We especially enjoyed the Pork LoMein and Crab Ragoon. We will be ordering from them again soon.

I have yet to find another Chinese Food restaurant that matches, or even comes close to, Chen's. When I eat at other Chinese Food restaurants, I ask myself why I even bothered half way through the meal because nothing is EVER as good as it is at Chen's. Not to mention their delivery service is FAST. My friend ordered from a different Chinese place that took an hour after we ordered just to have them call us back asking if we still wanted the food we ordered. YES WE WANT THE FOOD WE ORDERED. What, did they think we got bored after a half hour and went somewhere else? BRING MY DAMN FOOD! Going back to Chen's, I live about 3 miles from their store, but across a few VERY busy intersections. It regularly takes me 10 minutes to get to my house from their store. EVERY TIME I have ordered food from Chen's, it has been at my door in NO MORE than 20 minutes. 10 minutes between, you do the math on how quick they are. Prices can be a little expensive if you order like I do (enough for leftovers the next two days). We usually spend between $20-35 when ordering to go, but we also sit down and eat inside, where I don't get as wide of a selection as I usually get when I get 2-3 days worth of food, but their service is great and their store is incredibly clean! Overall, I doubt I will ever find a Chinese Food restaurant that even comes close to Chen's for as long as I live. My family goes through withdrawal now that they are out of the area, and if Chen's ever left, from some of the reviews I've read here, I doubt I'd be the only one picketing to "BRING BACK CHEN'S" outside their store... Me encanta Chen's...

Chen's Chinese Cuisine is the place to go if you're looking for Chinese in the Tinley area (either take out or dine-in). The price is right, the food is delicious, and the service is prompt. I ordered take out last night, and I was very happy with how much food I got for what I paid. I ordered a won-ton soup and the cashew chicken meal which included the entree and also fried rice and an egg roll. Everything was hot, cooked perfectly, and flavorful. There was an equal meat-to-vegetable ratio, and so much food overall that I had plenty of leftovers for another meal. They were generous with the fortune cookies too - gave me three even though the meal was only for one.

Chen's is excellent, I have been coming here for years. It's the only Chinese place that I crave. Always clean and friendly with the best Chinese food around. It's SO clean that about 3 years ago, I was dining in there with my daughter, and this man and his son were sitting at a table across from us and he asked us how did we like the food and if we had ever been here before. I quickly answered that I LOVE CHEN'S and it's basically the only Chinese food place I eat at. He said "good" because he is the inspector of the building and it SHOULD be the only Chinese food place that I eat in the area. WIN! Everything there is great and they will substitute anything you need.

I'm not too familiar with restaurants in the Tinley area so I turned to Yelp and found Chen's. The food is not bad at all. I had Kung Pao Shrimp. The best part is for $5.75 you get the lunch special which includes entree, soup, egg roll, rice, and tea. Even fast food would cost you more than $5.75. The service was good. Food was prepared very quickly so it's a good place to have lunch even if you are short on time.

Cheap, lots of food, great service. Nearly a weekly event for my wife and I. Great lunch spot. Cheap delivery for the days it's pouring. Hot tea, soup, egg roll & full meal for two with a 30% tip = $20. Can't do that anywhere else.

Ordered my food at 8 o'clock did not get it delivered till 930 after two conversations calling them. when order was delivered it was wrong they offered to give me 10 percent off on my next order that doesn't work when you have two children that are hungry and you have to wait till 930 to feed them. very upset will never order from them again

I have been to Chen's several times now. The staff are nice. The food is good. I like their Hunan chicken and beef chow fun. I love their hot and sour soup! The service is quick. Prices are reasonable. They offer lunch specials every day during the week including weekends which is nice. Go and try it out!

Ordered late about 20 minutes before closing, no I probably shouldn't do that but still doesn't mean that my order should not be prepared right. Very disappointed did not get what I ordered will probably never go back considering there are other great places nearby.....

We ordered $85 worth of food. Hardly any chicken or shrimp in the fried rice Sweet and sour chicken and shrimp was all breading. They give you 90 percent filler and no meat. Would definitely not recommend this place.

Why haven't I reviewed this place? Suburbia Chinese Food Heaven...I can live off the egg drop soup, I order the Mongolian beef every time and have left overs for 2 days, the sweet and sour chicken is fantastic...I could go on and on! Whenever I have Chinese food from somewhere else, I always find myself comparing it to Chen's...delicious!

I thought this was the worst Chinese food I've had, ever. Much too greasy. The filet mignon with vegetables had a strange fish-like taste, egg rolls were grey inside, soup wasn't fresh. Our visit was a huge disappointment. Moe's in Orland Park is really the only place to go for really fresh Chinese food.

My husband and I ordered egg rolls, crab rangoon, and two entrees for carryout. As soon as my husband arrived home with the food, I noticed an unusual scent coming from the bag. When we opened the containers with the food, the egg rolls and crab rangoon smelled absolutely disgusting. They must have been fried in old or dirty oil. Unfortunately, we were unable to eat our food and will not be ordering again.

Our family liked the food here. I had big expectations because of yelp reviews. People in the hood have been raving about this place. I thought the food was good but not great. I had a spicy chicken dish that I liked. Pot stickers were very good. Wife and kids had beef and broccoli dish and they liked it. Egg rolls were meh. Chens offered peanut butter with egg rolls. I have never seen that. We will go back and try other things. Wife picked up and liked the inside of the restaurant.

This was a more recent discovery in my attempt of finding better Chinese places in the TP area. The food is always hot, cooked well, and flavorful, which gives it a leg up over Dragon Palace. I haven't had a bad experience ordering from them so far and it's cheap to boot!

I went here for lunch the other day based off of other yelpers reviews and I must say thank you for the advice. When I got there it was pretty empty and so I didn't have to wait and that was a plus. When I looked at the menu I was pleasantly surprised. Their lunch menu have you a variety of options and they came with fried rice and an egg roll but then with dine in you also get got tea and and soup. All for 6 bucks I got the orange chicken with chicken fried rice and egg drop soup. So if you're in the area and don't want just drive through lunch then Chen's is worth a try.

Aces to this place. We were looking for a new cheap chinese and couldn't be happier with the find. It was after lunch and still had a good crowd going. The specials included wonton soup an egg roll and fried rice. We both had the general tso chicken and it was great. Nice and spicy with large portions. The soup was awsome. The egg roll was slightly over cooked, but still tasty. The fried rice was standard issue. This is what impressed me the most about Chen's. For the both of us with a pot of tea the check was under 12 bucks. The place was spotless and the food was served on dinner plates that were not all chipped and cracked and the silverware all matched. What more can you ask for?

Chen's is my go-to for Chinese food delivery. I KNOW that I'll be getting freshly cooked, warm food. I KNOW that it's made the same as they did last time. I KNOW that it tastes the same as last time. It's obviously not fine cuisine, but this is as good as it gets when it comes to reliable comfort food.

It's a little out of the way, but definately worth it if you're in the area. I went for dinner, and the portions were pretty big for the price. The food was tasty and the service was good. I've been told that their lunch specials are pretty cheap, but the portions are a bit smaller.

The holy grail for Chinese food in Tinley Park. I used to frequent this between two and three times a month mainly ordering their lunch specials which are at a price you can't beat. I have never had a complaint about anything I've ever eaten here whether it be Orange Chicken, Hunan Beef, Mongolian Beef, General Tao's Chicken, Egg Foo Yung. Everything is delicious. Very good Crab Rangoon's and Wonton Soup. The people who work here are so polite and I love that they serve you hot tea when you dine in. Unbeatable. Oh and did I mention the Fried Rice.
(5)
Dennis W.
Great place. Mongolian Beef is much better than the more expensive PF Chang's in Orland. I usually just get Egg Foo Young and the wife gets Fried Rice but have tried many other items and they never disappoint.

Since Lang Lee's decided to close (a moment of silence...) we had to find a new place. One of my students mentioned Chen's. We decided to try it and were very pleased. HUGE menu selection. We have tried: Cantonese beef, mongolian beef, beef kow, sesame and orange chicken. All very good. The lunch combos are a big serving with chicken fried rice, GREAT eggroll, soup and tea...all for $5.50!!!! The food is served in under 10 minutes and is SCREAMING hot! Everything was very fresh. They were stripping the peapods when we showed up and the crew in the kitchen was JUMPING!!!!! We are SOOO going back!

THIS place! I used to live across the street from Chens and we would go there ALL the time. Best fried rice I've ever had and no one can beat their crab rangoon. Every time I'm back in TP, I have to hit up Portillo's and Chen's. Literally every menu item has been delicious.
(5)
Lizz M.
My fiance and I just love Chen's for a quick cheap meal. Their lunch combinations are $4.95 and you only pay $1 more after 3pm. They include tea, soup, egg roll, entree and chicken fried rice. Can't beat that! The only complaint I have is that some of their entrees can be a bit bland. Try the Egg Foo Yung or Kung Pao.

We ordered take out of course, but I am not sure what all the hype is about here; the food was just OK, not very flavorful. The shrimp dinner we ordered did not not have much shrimp, but instead was loaded with sauce and veggies.

I have eaten here quite a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh, flavorful and they give you lots of it for the price. The dining room is nothing fancy, but the people who work there are really nice. Love the combination Fried Rice, Beef Kow, Hunan Beef, etc. If you haven't been there, I highly recommend trying it.

Love this place. It is only a few blocks from my parents house where I grew up so I try to stop in every time I am visiting. The quality is better than any Chinese food I've had anywhere else. I typically get chicken entrees at Chinese restaurants and here the chicken is Moist and delicious, not stringy at all like most Chinese places seem to have a problem with. It is also a great value.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
